what can i do to solve this problem. thanks for your all helps.

hi,
i ran dbca and i selected "General Purpose". then i have written Global Database Name and SID. then i checked "Configure the Database with Enterprise Manager" and selected "Use Databse Control for Database Management" and i clicked Next. then i have written same Password for All Accounts. then select "File System" option. then i selected "Use Common Location for All Database Files" option (not select "Use Database File Locations from Template" option) and i have written "{ORACLE_BASE}/oradata" for Database Files Location and i clicked next. then i checked "Specify Flash Recovery Area" for "Choose the recovery options for the database" page (already default values for this page) and clicked next. then default values for next page and i clicked next. then default values for next page(memory, sizing,character sets,connection mode tabs) and i clicked next. and then i clicked Finish button. and when processing %40, i have an error called by ORA-01092.
wonder in a place I do wrong??? i wonder, did i make a mistake at setup the oracle 10gR2 and patch? but setup has succeeded.
I need your help to overcome this problem... thanks for your all helps
Other hand where is CreateDBCatalog.log??? i dont know its path

• ORA-02263 when creating Report on Web Service Result

Hi,
I'm using Application Express 4.2.1.00.08 and I'm having problems creating a report on web service result.
This is the tutorial I'm using: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E14373_01/appdev.32/e13363/web_serv.htm (yes, I realize it's intended primarily for APEX 3.2).
I am able to create the web service, but when creating a report on web service result, I get the following error in the last step:
ORA-20001: Unable to create form on table. ORA-02263: need to specify the datatype for this column.
I have tried creating a report on the same web service result on apex.oracle.com (Application Express 4.2.1.00.08) and I don't get the error, and I am able to create the report.
The same thing happens with another web service, so I'm puzzled.
What could be the problem?
Thank you.

I wasn't able to solve the original problem, but I was able to recreate the process manually, using APEX_WEB_SERVICE.PARSE_RESPONSE function, documented here:http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23903_01/doc/doc.41/e21676/apex_web_service.htm#autoId10
Thanks again for your help!

Greetings!
OS : Windows XP
Oracle Version : 10g
I'm trying to install Peopelsoft Database into a newly created Oracle seed database, I have tested my seed database looging into SYS user.. it works with no issues.
Im going through the Step by step instructions from the people soft installation document.
Step #1
Create Ini.ora for new DB. I named it as HDMO
DB_NAME = HDMO
DB_FILES = 1021
OPEN_CURSORS = 1000
db_block_size = 8192
And placed it into database folder. C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\database
Step #2
Created ORACLE_SID Environemnt Variable. ORACLE_SID = HDMO
Step #3
Created Windows Service...
oradim -new -sid HDMO -intpwd manager -startmode auto -pfile C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\database\inithdmo.ora
Database service created succefully, and im able to start & stop activites without issues.
Step #4
Then manual creation of database as mentioned....
REMARK startup nomount pfile=%ORACLE_HOME%\database\inithdmo.ora
CREATE DATABASE HDMO

there was an error message ORA-01081 Cannot start already running Oracle - shut it down first.
I stop the service and ran the script.. it says NOT CONNECTED to ORACLE.
Is shutdown means stopping the service?

• Ora-20001 when creating a form on table with report (bug?)

Having some trouble creating a "Form on table with report".
1) I pick my table
2) take most of the defaults on the page where you pick the report type (interactive) and the page number (I changed it to 950). next->
3) Do not use tabs. Next->
4) Select all columns for the report. THEN (here's the problem) set an optional where clause of system_role_name like 'ODPSPOPUP%'. Next->
5) choose standard edit link. next->
6) Specify a page of 951 for the form (leave others defaults). next->
7) Set the form primary key (defined in table). next->
8) use existing trigger. next->
9) choose all columns for the form. next->
10) Leave actions to insert, update, delete. next->
11) Get to the summary page and click Finish
Then I get an error page saying:
ORA-20001: Unable to create query and update page. ORA-20001: Unable to create query and update page. ORA-00933: SQL command not properly ended
If I go back to step 4 and erase my where clause the wizard completes successfully.
Also if I change the report type in step 2 from the default of "Interactive" to "Classic" the wizard completes successfully. However upon running the report I get a query parse error. Looks like the where clause in the report sql is: system_role_name like ''ODPSPOPUP%'' (two single quotes on each side).
It looks as if you cannot specify a where clause with a quoted string. The wizard is expecting a bind variable.
Workaround(s):
1) Don't specify a where clause when report type = Interactive in "create form on table with report" wizard.
or
2) Specify a bogus where clause using bind variable syntax such as "system_role_name like :BOGUSVARIABLE". Then edit the report query once the wizard finishes and change the where clause to the constant string you wanted to use in the wizard (e.g. "system_role_name like 'MYSYSTEM%'")
Apex: 3.2.0.00.27
Database: Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition 11.1.0.7.0 64bit Production (Oracle EL5)

Andy,
It's a bug, all right. Thanks for the detailed problem description. We'll fix it when we can.

• ORA-00942 when creating external table under 10g with AQ

I have an application that runs with AQ. The front-end queues up batch-type
tasks in a queue. When one particular kind of message is dequeued, it
initiates a data load. That load requires the creation of an external
table.
The schema in question is owned by user BL (bulkload). The queue
is owned by BLB (bulkload batch), primarily to simplify some of the
rules needed by the resource manager in order to limit the total CPU
a batch process can consume. The BLB user has full access to the
BL schema, along with the following rights:
CREATE TYPE
CREATE TABLE
CREATE SEQUENCE
CREATE PROCEDURE
CREATE VIEW
CREATE SYNONYM
CREATE SEQUENCE
ALTER SESSION
CREATE SESSION
QUERY REWRITE
CREATE ANY CONTEXT
EXECUTE_CATALOG_ROLE
CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW
CREATE ANY DIRECTORY
DROP ANY DIRECTORY
The table creation works fine under 9.2.0.8 (our current required
version). However the application generates an ORA-00942 table or view does
not exist when run under 10g (10.2.0.1 and 10.2.0.3).
The following statement is the problem:
CREATE TABLE bulkload33 (
field1 VARCHAR2(2000),field2 VARCHAR2(2000),field3 VARCHAR2(2000))
ORGANIZATION EXTERNAL (
TYPE oracle_loader DEFAULT DIRECTORY EXT_100
ACCESS PARAMETERS ( RECORDS DELIMITED BY "\r\n"
CHARACTERSET 'WE8ISO8859P1'
BADFILE EXT_100:'bulkload_bad.csv'
LOGFILE EXT_100:'bulkload_log.csv'
FIELDS TERMINATED BY ','
OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '"' MISSING FIELD VALUES ARE NULL REJECT ROWS WITH ALL NULL FIELDS (
field1 CHAR(2000),field2 CHAR(2000),field3 CHAR(2000),field4 CHAR(2000)))
LOCATION ('bulkload.csv')
) REJECT LIMIT UNLIMITED PARALLEL;
To clarify, the preceding statement, when handled by the process
for a queue message, failes with an ORA-00942.
Note that I can issue the command directly, as BLB or SYS, against
the BL schema with no problems. Further, as user BLB or SYS, I can do
the following:
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE dotest
IS
l_sql varchar2(2000);
BEGIN
l_sql := 'CREATE TABLE bulkload33 (
field1 VARCHAR2(2000),field2 VARCHAR2(2000),field3 VARCHAR2(2000))
ORGANIZATION EXTERNAL (
TYPE oracle_loader DEFAULT DIRECTORY EXT_100
ACCESS PARAMETERS ( RECORDS DELIMITED BY "\r\n"
CHARACTERSET ''WE8ISO8859P1''
BADFILE EXT_100:''bulkload_bad.csv''
LOGFILE EXT_100:''bulkload_log.csv''
FIELDS TERMINATED BY '',''
OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY ''"'' MISSING FIELD VALUES ARE NULL REJECT ROWS WITH ALL NULL FIELDS (
field1 CHAR(2000),field2 CHAR(2000),field3 CHAR(2000),field4 CHAR(2000)))
LOCATION (''bulkload.csv'')
) REJECT LIMIT UNLIMITED PARALLEL';
EXECUTE IMMEDIATE l_sql;
END;
show errors
EXEC dotest
Does anyone have any ideas of why this doesn't work under 10g? Metalink
has yielded no clues so far.
Thanks.

Define "has full access to the BL schema" given that it is impossible to grant access rights, in Oracle, by schema. What was done and how was it done?
My guess is that the privs were granted in a role, rather than explicitly, as is required for PL/SQL.

• Got error ORA-06502 when creating a report page

Hi,
I got ORA-06502 error message when trying to create a report page using one particular query (see below). It happened in the 'SQL Query' step. After put query in the text box and click on 'Next' button, the error message read

I have googled the error codes and it seems that the most common error is naming a column somthing like DATE, which i have not done.
Any help here would be appreitated :)
Thanks,
-N.S.N.O.

Hello,
And are the tables (and columns) of both tables (CSPCCPA_DBAAPEX.TNTEWW.COM and CSAHEPA_DBAAPEX.gb.tntpost.com) exactly the same?
BTW Why don't you use (the same) synonyms for those tables. Then you don't need to change your code when you move it from dev to prod...

• ORA-27102 when creating a new database

I have a 10.2.0.4 RAC database on 64-bit Redhat Enterprise Linux AS Release 4.
We have 32GB on both machines in this cluster. Currently there are 5 databases running, each with 1GB SGA and 256M SGA. When I try to create a new database, with the same memory requirements, I get an ORA-27102. I am sure we have set up our OS fine, according to suggestions from Oracle. Linux returns: Linux-X86_64 Error: 28: No space left on device

kernel.shmall = 2097152This could be "it". This is system wide total, in pages. What is your page size?
There might be other parameters that need increasing as you add instances. Check Oracle and linux documentation.

• Error ORA-20001 when Creating an Application Express Workspcce

I have a 11.1.0.6.0 Enterprise Edition database running on a Fedora 10 box that was created using dbca. At the time, I did not select Oracle Application Express for installation. However, I can configure APEX and start it with URL http://<host>:8080/apex/apex_admin and log in as ADMIN. Looks like I'm ready to go... Database accounts APEX_PUBLIC_USER, FLOWS_030000 and FLOWS_FILES existed at the time I configured APEX.
Following the 2 Day + Application Express Developer's Guide, I get error "ORA-20001: Unable to create user. ORA-01935: missing user or role name" when I attempt to create a workspace for the demo application. In an attempt to resolve this, I've run dbca again to install Application Express in the database, and I then get "ORA-04063: package body "FLOWS_030000.WWV_FLOWS" has errors: ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called: "FLOWS_03000.WWV_FLOW" ORA-06512: at line 2". DBA_OBJECTS reports table WWV_FLOWS owned by this user, but no package body of the same name.
Can anyone advise what I need to do to resolve the ORA-20001 error when I attempt to create a APEX workspace, or resolve the ORA-04063 error when I attempt to use dbca to install APEX in the database?
TIA
Jon

• ORA-20001: error 29th ORA-24344 When creating a workspace

Hi,
I just installed APEX 4.0 on 10g (10.2.0.4).
When I tried to create a new workspace, at the last step (after clicking "Create Workspace" button), it fails with the following error.
ORA-20001: error 29th ORA-24344: success with compilation error
Error provisioning test.
I could not find any errors in PLSQL debug error, and in DBA_ERRORS table.
Could you help me to fix this problem? I ran utlrp.sql to make sure we don't have invalid objects. And I read the installation log and found no errors. XDB, OWA installed.
I have another APEX 4.0 instance on 11g R2, and it works fine.
Thanks
Jung
Edited by: jwryoo on Jul 15, 2010 8:37 AM

thanks.
Yes, that's I already checked and confirmed that the privilege is granted.
DBA_ERRORS did not show any errors owned by APEX% users.
But I did see some errors owned by XDB.
PL/SQL: Item ignored
PLS-00201: identifier 'UTL_FILE' must be declared
PL/SQL: Statement ignored
PLS-00201: identifier 'DBMS_LOB' must be declared
It seems the DB has revoked some public access for security reasons.
So, I am trying to ask DBA to grant the privileges to XDB.

• XMLAGG giving ORA-19011 when creating CDATA with large embedded XML

What I'm trying to achieve is to embed XML (XMLTYPE return type) inside a CDATA block. However, I'm receiving "ORA-19011: Character string buffer too small" when generating large amounts of information within the CDATA block using XMLCDATA within an XMLAGG function.
Allow me to give a step by step explanation through the thought process.
h4. Creating the inner XML element
For example, suppose I have the subquery below
select
XMLELEMENT("InnerElement",DUMMY) as RESULT
from dual
;I would get the following.
RESULT
<InnerElement>X</InnerElement>h4. Creating outer XML element, embedding inner XML element in CDATA
Now, if I my desire were to embed XML inside a CDATA block, that's within another XML element, I can achieve it by doing so
select
XMLELEMENT("OuterElement",
XMLCDATA(XML_RESULT)
) XML_IN_CDATA_RESULT
FROM
(select
XMLELEMENT("InnerElement",DUMMY) as XML_RESULT
from dual)
;This gets exactly what I want, embedding XML into CDATA block, and CDATA block is in an XML element.
XML_IN_CDATA_RESULT
<OuterElement><![CDATA[<InnerElement>X</InnerElement>]]></OuterElement> So far so good. But the real-world dataset naturally isn't that tiny. We'd have more than one record. For reporting, I'd like to put all the <OuterElement> under a XML root.
h4. Now, I want to put that data in XML root element called <Root>, and aggregate all the <OuterElement> under it.
select
XMLELEMENT("Root",
XMLAGG(
XMLELEMENT("OuterElement",
XMLCDATA(INNER_XML_RESULT)
FROM
(select
XMLELEMENT("InnerElement",DUMMY) as INNER_XML_RESULT
from dual)
;And to my excitement, I get what I want..
<Root>
<OuterElement><![CDATA[<InnerElement>X</InnerElement>]]></OuterElement>
<OuterElement><![CDATA[<InnerElement>Y</InnerElement>]]></OuterElement>
<OuterElement><![CDATA[<InnerElement>Z</InnerElement>]]></OuterElement>
</Root> But... like the real world again... the content of <InnerElement> isn't always so small and simple.
h4. The problem comes when <InnerElement> contains lots and lots of data.
When attempting to generate large XML, XMLAGG complains the following:
ORA-19011: Character string buffer too smallThe challenge is to keep the XML formatting of <InnerElement> within CDATA. A particular testing tool I'm using parses XML out of a CDATA block. I'm hoping to use [Oracle] SQL to generate a test suite to be imported to the testing tool.
I would appreciate any help and insight I could receive, and hopefully overcome this roadblock.

That's an expected error.
XMLCDATA takes a string as input, but you're passing it an XMLType instance, therefore an implicit conversion occurs from XMLType to VARCHAR2 which is, as you know, limited to 4000 bytes.
This indeed gives an error :
SQL> select xmlelement("OuterElement", xmlcdata(inner_xml))
2  from (
3    select xmlelement("InnerElement", rpad(to_clob('X'),8000,'X')) as inner_xml
4    from dual
5  ) ;
ERROR:
ORA-19011: Character string buffer too small
no rows selectedThe solution is to serialize the XMLType to CLOB before passing it to XMLCDATA :
SQL> select xmlelement("OuterElement",
2           xmlcdata(xmlserialize(document inner_xml))
3         )
4  from (
5    select xmlelement("InnerElement", rpad(to_clob('X'),8000,'X')) as inner_xml
6    from dual
7  ) ;
XMLELEMENT("OUTERELEMENT",XMLCDATA(XMLSERIALIZE(DOCUMENTINNER_XML)))
<OuterElement><![CDATA[<InnerElement>XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX(use getClobVal method if your version doesn't support XMLSerialize)

• ORA-24344 when creating new workspace

I am using HTMLDB 2.0 and successfully created several workspaces several months ago. I am now trying to create a new workspace and I get "ORA-24344: success with compilation error. Error provisioning <workspace>." I receive the same error whether I am reusing an existing schema or not. I have made sure there are no invalid views or procedures in the flows_020000 schema and have run ...\rdbms\admin\utlrp.sql just in case. When an existing schema is not reused, the new user does not appear to have been created. My database is 10.2.0.1 and I am running on a Windows Server 2003 system. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Bob

Just to recap, when you re-use an existing schema, you get the error but the workspace gets created, you can login to the workspace, everything works? But when you specify a new schema you get the error but the workspace is/is not created (?) and the schema is definitely not created?
