<b>a corrupted database due the auto extended bug
Corrupt block dba: 0x24024cd0 file=5. blocknum=150736.
found during buffer read on disk type:0. ver.
dba:0x00000000 inc:0x00000000 seq:0x00000000 incseq:0x00000000
Entire contents of block is zero - block never written
Reread of block=24024cd0 file=9. blocknum=150736. found same corupted Data
Mishandled block information (in certain conditions), upon reading the database block, which indicates that a good block is corrupted. This is the bug in the Oracle version 8.1.x - 9.x, where the Oracle will raise the error:
ORA-600 [kcoapl_blkchk][ABN][RFN][INT CODE]
Pointing to failure condition during block check. This only happens when block checking is enabled.
A problem with a faulty database trigger operation, causing data block corruptions
ORA-01115: IO error reading block from file 6 (block # 14873)
ORA-01110: data file 6: '/oracle/artist/artist01.dbf'
ORA-27091: skgfqio: unable to queue I/O

Errors ORA-01115 ORA-17507 ORA-01410
Hi i was using Oracle Data Integrator for loading data from one database to another, i programmed a package that loads data with a cycle in monthly intervals, it rans ok the first ten months since 2007/11 but then i got this errors
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01115: IO error reading block from file 286 (block # 184745)
ORA-17507: I/O request size is not a multiple of logical block size
ORA-01410: invalid ROWID
Does anyone have any idea why this happened?.oracle error ORA-01115
1. Try to assess the cause and extent of the problem.
Examine the alert.log file for this instance. Scan the last few
days' entries for other occurrences of ORA-01115. If you find them,
A) Do they reference files in different disks?
If so, it is likely that there you have controller problems.
Move on to Scenario II.A below.
B) Do they reference different files in the same disk?
If so, it is likely that there are problems with that disk.
Move on to Scenario II.B below.
C) Do they always reference the same datafile?
If so, it is likely that the datafile contains bad blocks.
Move on to Scenario II.C below. If the file is bigger
than 2GB and you are running 7.1.4 or lower on a Solaris
platform, see Scenario II.D below.
D) If none of the above applies, move on to Step 2.
2. If the datafile is in the SYSTEM tablespace, or the database is in
NOARCHIVELOG mode, shut the database down. Move on to Step 4.
If shutdown immediate fails, do a shutdown abort.
3. If the database is in ARCHIVELOG mode, you should still shut the
database down. If the database cannot be shut down, offline the
datafile.
ALTER DATABASE DATAFILE '<full_path_file_name>' OFFLINE;
4. Try to copy the datafile to another disk (managed by a different
controller, if possible).
5. If the copy fails, even after you retry, the datafile must be considered
lost at this point. The next action depends on the tablespace to
which the lost file belongs. See the following Solution References to
PR entries, according to the different types of tablespaces,
for instructions on how to proceed.
IMPORTANT: While going through the references below, keep in mind that
if you restore the datafile from backup, you need to place it in another
disk, preferably under a different controller, and rename it inside Oracle
(see Note 115424.1 for details). If you recreate any tablespace, make
sure its datafiles are created in another disk, preferably under a
different controller.
Reference for Lost datafile scenarios : Note 198640.1
6. If the database is down, mount it.
7. Rename the datafile that you succeeded in copying inside Oracle.
ALTER DATABASE RENAME FILE '<old_full_path_file_name>'
TO '<new_full_path_file_name>';
8. If the database is mounted, open it. If you offlined the datafile,
perform media recovery on it, and then bring it online.

Is there any problem with archives ?What is ORA-01115? (Nobody remembers all Oracle errors, ok I found it)

What's your database version?

The error message says the device is not accessible, this is not datafile corruption. It's not a case for restore/recovery, although that may come later, after the basic problem has been resolved.

Failed to connect to database instance: ORA-02002: error writing to audit_t
I have a 4 node cluster and getting this alert very ferquently...

ORA-01110: data file 1: '+DG_PROD/ngprod/datafile/system.258.665846277'
ORA-15081: failed to submit an I/O operation to a disk
Documentation on error says.........
ORA-02002: error while writing to audit trail
Cause: The auditing facility is unable to write to the AUDIT_TRAIL table. If this error occurs, SQL statements that are currently being audited may also fail. This error will occur if the SYSTEM tablespace runs out of disk space.
Action: Add space to the SYSTEM tablespace or delete rows from the AUDIT_TRAIL table. If these operations fail or do not eliminate the problem, shut down and restart Oracle with auditing disabled. This is done by setting the initialization parameter AUDIT_TRAIL to FALSE.
How should I check the system tablespaces ...I'm getting the error....and moreover they are autoextendible....Any idea about the issueYou can check the space available in any tablespace with a query from dba_free_space;
Give serious consideration to moving AUD$ out of the system tablespace. Theoretically you can not do this prior to database 11.1.0.7 (where you can use the built-in package DBMS_AUDIT_MGMT.MOVE_DBAUDIT_TABLES). But if you open an SR at metalink they will instruct you to do it manually which keeps everything legal and supported.

Also look into using resumable transactions (DBMS_RESUMABLE) to keep these things from happening in the future.

Ora-01008 error with bind variable
Hi,
We have a test program which have one bind variable on a column which is varchar2(20), in the test program we've passed a 20 character string to the variable. The program returns error in one of the databases but all others are successful. We've checked the column is same in all of them.
Exception in thread "main" java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-01008: not all variables bound
Could you please advise how to troubleshoot this issue?
RegardsWe aren't going to be able to help you if you won't post the database code that is giving the error.
And now we need the Java code that is constructing the query that you are using.
Your error is saying there is a second variable that you are not providing a value for.
And you said
