Trying to create the database using the dbca(with the default settings) the following errors are displaying:

To solve the issue after the failed installation:
1.
Be sure that the files can be replaced
2.
Copy the files :
a) from other ORACLE_HOME patched with the patchset required as it is recommended at the Note 471765.1
b) from the patchset software
For instance to copy the files from the 10.2.0.3 patchset:
% cd $ORACLE_HOME/assistants/dbca/templates
% cp <patchset_location>/Disk1/stage/Patches/oracle.rdbms.install.seeddb/10.2.0.3.0/1/DataFiles/Expanded/filegroup2 $ORACLE_HOME/assistants/dbca/templates
% jar -xvf <patchset_location>/Disk1/stage/Patches/oracle.rdbms.install.seeddb/10.2.0.3.0/1/Data/Filesfilegroup1.1.1.jar
To avoid the issue before to install the patchset:
Check the permissions of files under $ORACLE_HOME/assistants/dbca/templates and be sure that
oracle user will be able to replace them

ORA-12154 while installing Oracle 10g on windows 7

I am trying to install Oracle 10g express edition on my machine (core 2 duo 2.93) running on Windows 7.
The installation moves on perfectly for the 1st step and while running the 2nd step (Net configuration Assistant), it gives the ORA-12154 error.
The contents of my configuration files at this point are as follows:

After some googling around, I have found and installed the Microsoft Loopback adapter too (since my LAN is DHCP enabled) and also tried to turn on the firewall on my machine to check if it is not a problem with the port 1521 being blocked by the firewall.
However, even after all that I still get the error "ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified." while running the Net configuration Assistant and/or running SQL Plus to connect to the SID - ORCL.
I can only see one service running in my services by the name : OracleOraDb10g_home1TNSListenerORCL
Any suggestions or advice on the error would be much welcome.
Is it anything related to Windows 7 ? Because I have managed to install using the same installer on another machine which runs Windows XP and everything seems fine there.

Ora-00604 while installing Oracle 10g on Windows XP SP2

I was installing Oracle 10g on Windows XP but the dbca was failling. So I tried to create a database manually.
But every time I launch this:
"SQL> startup nomount pfile="C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\admin\XP10G\scripts\initXP10G.ora";"
I always had:
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-02248: invalid option for ALTER SESSION
I tried to change some memory value in the init*.ora without more success.
So if anyone has been had such issue; he would be an help for me.

ORA-12157 when installing Oracle 10g on Fedora 5?

Hi, Im installing Oracle 10g on Fedora 5, I did it once, but when I tried to set it up again I
got this error on the last part of the install...
ORA-12157: TNS: internal network communication error
Anybody know what might cause this?
I think I have installed all required RPMs and set environment variables, kernel parameters,
created oracle users and groups as needed, but still get the above error. I searched the error and some claim it is a problem using newer glibc 2.4.4, so I tried installing on Fedora 4 and had the same error even with glibc 2.3???

Issue with Installing Oracle 10g R2 on a Windows 2008 Domain Controller

I'm assigned a evaluation task for my company. The task invoke to install oracle in my Domain Controller Server.
I got "ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error" when I installed ORACLE 10g R2 for Win2K8 on my Windows 2008 (a Domain Controller Server). It happened in the create predefined database period.
I tried to google and noted that there are some RUMOS say "We cannot deploy ORACLE on a Domain Controller, It's impossible"
Is this true? Please, Please advise!

But, u can Install Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 (10.1.2.0.2) on windows 2003 (64 bit) server

Error: ora-12560 while installing OEM 10g

I have oracle db 10.1.0.3 and i was trying to install OEM 10.1.0.3 everything went fine until i had that error error messagne while creating the clone database instance. ora-12560: TNS protocol adapter error... anyone can help?

Needs more info. Are you able to work/connect on your primary db thrugh OEM ?

When installing ora816nt the database creation assistant fails (on every machine I try it on.) I had it create the script and have tried to run the commands manually, and run into the following problem:

Check weather entries are there in the registry.
Go to the services in the control panel and see if the oracle service has started if not start it. If this is up then the registry is OK. if If not u can create it using the oradim utility.
Then set your oracle_sid = <dbname> in the dos prompt and try connecting again.
Let us see what happense

Here's the resolution that can work for you:
Disable the "Print Spooler" service before running the installer.
1.Open Control Panel: Start --> Settings --> Control Panel
2.Double-click "Services"
3.On the list of NT Services, right-click "Print Spooler"
4.Select "Stop"
5.Select "Properties"
6.Under Startup Type, select "manual" or "disabled"
7.Reboot your NT Server
8.After rebooting, verify that the Print Spooler is still "stopped".
9.Delete Program Files\Common Files\Installshield\Engine folder
10.Re-run the installer.
11.After installation, re-set the Print Spooler service to Startup type "Automatic" and start the service.

I have installed Oracle 10g 32 bit on Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. I installed both client and database. I have another remote server running oqacle 10g which is working fine. I am able to connect to this server from an xp machine.
On the windows 7 machine I can open the Enterprise Console or Sqlplus, provide login credentials. After clicking OK to connect, the enterprise console disappears or closes. Tried several times.
Is there a patch for oracle 10g 32 bit on windows 7 64 bit.

Please note that Developer Suite 10R2 is NOT certified(cannot be installed) for Windows 7 64-bit.
For an official statement check this note:
Forms / Reports Builder Certification on MS Windows 7 (Doc ID 1112213.1)
Developer suite 10gR2 is certified only on Windows 7 32-bit:
1292919.1 - Certification of Oracle Developer Suite 10g (10.1.2) on Windows 7 (32-bit)
You can install Developer suite 10R2 on Windows 64-bit in xp mode.
11gR2(11.1.2 version) is certified and can be installed on Windows 7 64-bit
Also IE9 is not certified with 10gR2.Check:
