Ora 12640

Question

when i try to startup oem in oracle 8.1.7
an error occours tells me (see below): error ORA-12640 tell me to enable tracer
what is the tracer and what can i do?

dear mario i've create the repositry correctly but when I try to start the service
(my os is w2000server) an error occour tells me that is impossible to start the service but there is no errors
maybe the problem is into the os
did you know this problem?
i also try to install oracle in w2000pro but the service responde me in the same way .
the oracle report error (i don't remember the right name of registry)tells me there's no listener active
but i'm sure that i've set correctly listener(whit wizard)
have you any idea?
please help me or oracle wil drive me crazy
