Root.sh diskgroup already mounted in another lock name space
I have successfully installed oracle grid infrastructure 11.2.0.3 and have created an oracle database on an asm instance on top of it.
I installed the database as a RAC database on a single node db-test-mi-1, postponing the addition of a second node at a later time.
Now I have a second node db-test-mi-2, that I need to add to to the database.
I have successfully performed
cluvfy stage -pre nodeadd -n db-test-mi-2 -verbose
without any errors.
When I try to extend grid infrastructure to the new node, with
./addNode.sh "CLUSTER_NEW_NODES={db-test-mi-2}" "CLUSTER_NEW_VIRTUAL_HOSTNAMES={db-test-mi-2-vip}"
it works fine, but the script /oracle/app/11.2.0/grid/root.sh, from the grid home of the second node, generates an error
ORA-15032: not all alterations performed
ORA-15017: diskgroup "DATADG" cannot be mounted
ORA-15003: diskgroup "DATADG" already mounted in another lock name space
This is because of course the ASM instance on the first node is locking the disk group.
How can I extend ASM to the second node??
Any hel greatly appreciatedHi,

i always get this error, i did not see this error in 11gR1( restore few times to 11gR1)

ERROR:
ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specifiederror has NOTHING to do with RAC.
Basic SQL*Net issue
ORA-12154 ALWAYS only occurs on SQL Client & no SQL*Net packets ever leave client system
ORA-12154 occurs when client requests a connection to some DB server system using some connection string.
The lookup operation fails because the name provided can NOT be resolved to any remote DB.
The analogous operation would be when you wanted to call somebody, but could not find their name in any phonebook.
The most frequent cause for the ORA-12154 error is when the connection alias can not be found in tnsnames.ora.
The lookup operation of the alias can be impacted by the contents of the sqlnet.ora file; specifically DOMAIN entry.

Ora-15040 - diskgroup is incomplete
Hi DBA gurus,
I have set up a RAC environment on Oracle VM boxes and successfully installed the GRID , but when I am trying to create the database either from dbca or from manually it says :
I have created two Oracle Vm boxes for linux 6.4
and installed Oracle 11.2.0.4 on it

ora-15001 - diskgroup DATA doesnot exist or is not mounted
ora-15040 - diskgroup is incomplete.
i am new to RAC and stuck here and could not proceed further.
Thanks in advance.

Does data diskgroup is mounted on ASM level.
--- if not, please check while mounting last time what exact error it wrote on ASM alertlog file
--- if no issue ,try to mount this diskgroup data from asm sqlplus/asmcmd
-- If mounted, please check if you have proper OS level group is assigned to OS user which is holding rdbms binary.
check $GI_HOME/rdbms/lib/config.[co] file ,does rdbms OS user have SS_ASM_GRP group assigned at OS level.

ORA-15001: diskgroup "FRA" does not exist or is not mounted
Dear Experts,
We noticed the error "ORA-15001: diskgroup "FRA" does not exist or is not mounted" on the 2nd node of our 4 nodes RAC database system.
During this weekend, we moved our system to a new data center. After the move was done, we were able to bring up the 4 instances around 3:00 AM. However, 4 hours later (7:00 AM), OEM Grid control alerted us with "archival error" on the 2nd instance. From our investigating, we saw the FRA was dismounted. Below is the oracle alert log file (For secuirty reson, the SID is modified):

ORA-15001: diskgroup "FRA" does not exist or is not mounted
ORA-15001: diskgroup "FRA" does not exist or is not mounted It is my understanding, that Oracle will automatically mount the diskgroups on the ASM when the instances are started. In our case, all other diskgroups are started OK but not the FRA diskgroup. Is this a bug with FRA where FRA can not be automatically started up after recycling the instance? Did anyone experience the same situation? Can someone advice?
Thanks!Hello,
We are running oracle 10.2.0.2.
Which section of the alert log file for +ASM2 we need here? I will paste it here the ones when "alter diskgroup all mounted" started at 3:00 AM all the way upto 4:00 AM on Saturday, Feb 7:

Pb importing already-existing pages - ORA-01403: no data found
Hi,
I get an issue when trying to import a page already existing on my target environment.
The problem does not occur during the import, but when trying to edit the page, once imported.
I get the following error message:
Error: ORA-01403: no data found
Note that this problem does not appear if I export/import the entire pagegroup, but only when exporting/importing
one or several pages independently.
Thanks for your help,

Hi,
Db :11.2.0.1
Os :Aix 6
We refresh a db from production to development.
Production db name is PROD23,size is 3tb.we created pfile with instance name PROD23 in target machine(development machine) and db name also PROD23.
We started instance and restore completed. We got a error while recovery

2GB free space available in archivegroup.I didn't understand why it's throwing a error?
I checked space in asmcmd which shows like
+P0DEV_ARCHGROUP01*
ASMCMD> ls -ltr
WARNING:option 'r' is deprecated for 'ls'
please use 'reverse'
Type Redund Striped Time Sys Name
Y PROD23/
N PP0DEV/
can i delete archive logs from PROD23.
Usually we complete recovery and changed db name to PP0DEV from PROD23.So i am asking above question.
Thanks & Regards,

Redolog size is 8GB. the db has 8 redo group and 2 members each.
Interesting that your status for the PP0DEV groups is CONNECTED ... using NFS or iSCSI? I typically see MOUNTED.
What is your definition for DB_RECOVERY_DEST, DB_RECOVERY_DEST_SIZE. The error stated that you had exhausted space, but if I read this correctly, I see 144857M (144G) in your ARCHGROUP1, make sure your DEST_SIZE is 900G (TOTAL_MB for the ARCHIVE group) -
ORA-15041: diskgroup space exhausted
Hi,
I've an Oracle Database 11g Release 11.1.0.6.0 - 64bit Production With the Real Application Clusters option.
Some days ago I was receiving the error:
unable to extend segment in tablespace system
I looked at the tablespace table and this was the situation:

My first doubt is:
why it was not able to extend itself as it had 3 files and 2 very small size?
Anyway I tried an alter tablespace add datafile, but:
SQL> alter tablespace system add datafile;
alter tablespace system add datafile
*+
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01119: error in creating database file 'DATA'+
ORA-17502: ksfdcre:4 Failed to create file DATA+
ORA-15041: diskgroup space exhausted
Why I got this error? Every memeber had enough space and 1 even 52gb...
I had to had the disk asm212 at the DATA diskgroup. Then I was able to add the datafile.
Thanks in advance,
Samuelhi,
i got this result from yr query
ASMDB_GROUP1 0 ASMDB_GROUP1_0000 20480 0 /dev/rhdisk4 UNKNOWN
ASMDB_GROUP1 1 ASMDB_GROUP1_0001 20480 0 /dev/rhdisk5 UNKNOWN

ASMDB_GROUP4 1 ASMDB_GROUP4_0001 20480 0 /dev/rhdisk11 UNKNOWN
it means i dont have any free space, so can i add space in group1 ?
can i add space from another diskgroup to diskgroup1 ?
DO I NEED TO shudown my databsae ?

"The iPhone is already synced with another iTunes library. Do you want to erase this iPhone and synch with this iTunes library?"
It warns that doing so will erase my current iphone and replace the contents of it with the contents in my new iTunes library.
