And when I try to create a diskgroup I get:

  • ORA-12844: cluster reconfiguration in progress

    Hi All,
I am getting ORA-12844: cluster reconfiguration in progress error while executing a mapping with UPDATE/INSERT option. For the first time, the mapping was executed with out any problem and loaded about 16 million records.. For the subsequent executions it is giving the above problem.
What would be the problem? please respond, if anyone came across the similar situation.
    Thanks,
    PR

    1. Are you running against Oracle RAC? The message suggest that but we've seen this issue once before when it wasn't related to RAC (no good suggestions from that occurrence).
    2. Have you ever seen this message outside the context of what you do with OWB? OWB should not do anything special that would cause this issue.

  • How to get rolling patch 9 for tux8.0?

    Hi there,
I'm installing eLink OSI TP 4.1 on top of tux8.0 and the release notes
declare that I need 'Rolling Patch 9'. Is this already in the
distribution (nt/win2k) that I downloaded, or must I get it somewheres?
I don't have a patchlev file in my tuxdir/udataobj dir.
    Thanks,
    Ben
PS Kindly remove 'NO_SPAM' if replying to my e-mail address.

    Benjamin,
You need to open a case with BEA support, who can make the patch
    available to you.

    Peter.

  • ORA-25402: transaction must roll back

I found this problem.ORA-25402: transaction must roll back
Please introduce , how resolve problem?
what view ? I'll able check for this problem.

If you had a network problem it is unlikely that the client would still be connected and able to issue a rollback. I have seen this message but I cannot remember what the situation is when it occurs. What Oracle wants is for the client to issue an explicit rollback statement.
There is a bug that produces this error unfortunately the OP did not include their Oracle version. The bug could be in all versions from 8 - 9.2.0.3 but is only confirmed to be in 9.2.0.3 where after Transaction Failover a commit or rollback incorrectly produces this error. According to the note a Select should produce this error. This would need to be a RAC system that uses transaction failover for this to apply: Note:2652886.8 Also TAF problem: Note:2652845.8
But it seems to me you can get this error on a distributed transaction. Oracle wants the client to issue an explicit rollback so that all parties to the distributed transaction rollback. If the application terminates due to the error then RECO will rollback the transaction. If the application issues the rollback it can then continue with additional (or retry) distributed queries.

    Hi,
the BEA JRockit 5.0 JDK Rolling Patch 1 Release is installed on the server

  • Vip Failover and rolling patch

    Hi,
For the purpose of implementing security features in the 2 Node RAC DB EE=10.2.0.5 [ID 1340831.1], I want to apply patch for bug:12880299 which is rolling available.
My question is: If I do all this procedure on node 1 (creating wallets,self-signed certificates,stop/start instances on the node), the node 2 DB should continue to accept incoming connection requests right?
In another way, I have tested FAILOVER tests while crashing node 1, and VIP was failed over to node 2, but I have no idea how vip will behave if DB,LISTENER,CRS,etc are literally stopped on node 1, will it still automatically move to Node 2?
Also, prior installation of PSE 12880299 before implementing COST in this verison of DB? Is this necessary whatever it is?
Thank you for your useful inputs.
    Regards

With Oracle 10g you do connection time failover with setting in clients tnsnames.ora file all nodes addresses: Check following link:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/network.102/b14213/tnsnames.htm#i477297
If your clients tnsnames.ora file is ok, Then client tries to connect addresses one by one. And this way it does not matter even if some server of the cluster is down. But of course when you shutdown one database instance it's connections will be dropped. Althought you can have SELECT clause failovers with Transparent Application Failover (TAF).
So you can run rolling update without shutting down whole RAC database as long as your clients tnsnames.ora is configured correctly. But those dropped connections need to be handled in application level.

  • Scripting cluster failover for patching (2008 server not R2)

We have a number of Windows 2008 (not R2) servers running sql.  We currectly patch using a third party tool (Shavlik) and would like to automate the process.  eg. failover, patch, failback, check status.  I started looking at Powershell
but it appears the cluster modules are for 2008R2 and not plain 2008.  Anyone have a solution?  Thanks.

As noted above, your best option is to upgrade to the latest OS - lots of good reasons to do that anyway.  Otherwise, with 2008 you will need to script things with the cluster.exe and wmi commands executed via winrm (if you want to perform them remotely).
You would most likely put as much time, effort, and money into creating something that works in 2008 as it would take to upgrade to the latest Windows Server 2012 R2.  And then, by having 2012 R2 in place it prepares you for v.Next which will enable a
rolling upgrade capability within a cluster.

  • ORA-600 during Apply of patch 3.1.2.00.02

I receice during installation of ApEx patch 3.1.2.00.02 following errors in the apxpatch.log
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [kokegPinLob1], [], [], [], [], [],
    ORA-06512: at line 548
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [kokegPinLob1], [], [], [], [], [],
    ORA-06512: at line 438
I can reproduce the issue with a 11.1.0.6 or 10.2.0.4 database, but not with a 10.1.0.5 database.
First I was thinking taht this issue realted to
BUG: 6922966 SELECT QUERY WITH TABLE CONTAIN CLOB COLUMN ORA-600 [KOKEGPINLOB1]
but applying one off patch for this bug on Linux x86 using a 10.2.0.4 database not solving the issue.
    Any ideas?
Other people who see this error?
it seems that ApEx working fine after patch installation and the errors can be ignored, but I cannot be sure about it.

These errors are definetly caused by the 2 scripts mentioned above (and bellow):
    1. patch/patches/3.1.2/patch_6988690.sql
    2. patch/patches/3.1.2/patch_7298321.sql
Also I was able to reproduce the issue internally.
These errors are encountered when there is at least one additional language loaded beside English.
These 2 patch scripts are updating the wwv_flow_page_plugs with an UPDATE statement similar with the following one:
    update wwv_flow_page_plugs
    set plug_source = s
    where flow_id between 4400 and 4409 ...
In this case 4400 is the flow_id for the Application Migration Project. For a default installation this ID is the only within the interval [4400,4409]
If you load an additional language (like French) then an additional flow_id is created for that language (like 4402).
The above UPDATE statement works successfully when there is only 1 row to be updated but fails if it finds 2 rows.
This seems to be related with the size of the "s" variable that is being constructed in these 2 scripts.
I have filled Bug 7451277 for this issue. This is currently being screened.

    Bogdan

  • Ora 10.2.0.4 Patch ZIP Password!

I have just downloaded patch 8 (10204_Patch8_MSWIN-x86-64.zip) from the SAP website (https://websmp203.sap-ag.de/swcenter-3pmain) but it asks for a password to unzip! Ditto for patch 11 (10204_Patch11_MSWIN-x86-64.zip )
Is it supposed to do that? How can I get the password?
I checked the forums but no one seems to have encountered this problem! (+or am I typing the wrong keywords! +)

Surprisingly, the zip file allows me view access to the files inside the archive!
I circumvented my problem by copy-pasting the files from the archive without extracting them! Weird!
I have completed the patching successfully.
