    I get the following error when trying to make an HTTP request. Below is the snippet of code I run. I get the error after exactly 60 seconds(default timeout?). I searched through the forums and found many similar errors but nothing that helped me resolve this issue. The problem does not exist in the rest of our environments, only our test environment.
    Help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • Apex_web_service.make_request throws ORA-29273: HTTP request failed. How to get the soap fault XML?

    I am trying to call a web service using apex_web_service.make_request function.
    It works fine when all the parameters are correct. However, when something is wrong in the request XML, it throws an exception instead of returning the soap:fault message:
    ORA-29273: HTTP request failed
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_HTTP", line 1369
    ORA-29269: HTTP server error 500 - Internal Server Error
    ORA-06512: at "APEX_040200.WWV_FLOW_WEBSERVICES_API", line 130
    ORA-06512: at line 37
    I need to get back the soap:fault and parse it to display a proper error message to the users (e.g. what was wrong with the input), yet the call throws an exception instead of returning it.
    I am trying the exact same request from soapUI and it returns me the soap:fault below:
    <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope">
       <soap:Body>
          <soap:Fault>
             <soap:Code>

             </soap:Reason>

                <ns1:RegisterFault xmlns:ns1="http://www.exchangenetwork.net/wsdl/register/1">
                   <description xmlns:ns2="http://www.exchangenetwork.net/wsdl/register/1">The security token has expired.</description>
                   <errorCode xsi:type="ns2:RegisterErrorCode" xmlns:ns2="http://www.exchangenetwork.net/wsdl/register/1" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">E_TokenExpired</errorCode>
                </ns1:RegisterFault>
             </soap:Detail>
          </soap:Fault>
       </soap:Body>
    </soap:Envelope>
    How do I get this back from APEX?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
       I've just run into this.
       If the webservice returns a fault, such as:
    <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"><soap:Body><soap:Fault><faultcode>soap:Server</faultcode><faultstring>INVALID_REQUESTER_INFO</faultstring></soap:Fault></soap:Body></soap:Envelope>
       then the user gets presented with an unfriendly error message and there's no chance to output a more friendly one.
       The response above is seen when testing the webservice, when run from the Form/Report page, we get something like:
    soap:ServerINVALID_REQUESTER_INFO
    Contact your application administrator.
    OK
       When OK button is clicked everything is rolled back and we don't even get the fault XML.
       It would be good if Apex could be optionally set to not give the unfriendly messages, so that we could code such a message ourselves.
       Unless anybody has a workaround for this, I guess that I'll have to see if I can code this in PLSQL.
    Regards,
    Chris

  • ORA-01013: User requested cancel of current operation (#1013)

    Hi Guys,
    I have an application and in particular an append query that inserts rows into a linked table. I keep on getting this error, (although the code works fine in enterprise manager, and code-imports ok).
    I did not cancel the query but it seems to think it has. The insert/append query starts and prompts me for the username and password, this works fine, it just stops half way or beggining etc...
    This is the error:
    ORA-01013: User requested cancel of current operation (#1013)
    And this is the error on Help file:
    ODBC – call failed. (Error 3146)
    Using an ODBC connection, you tried to perform an operation on data in an ODBC data source. This error may occur when the ODBC data source is on a network drive and you are not connected to the network. Make sure the network is available, and then try the operation again.
    Cheers
    Champinco

    Does "linked table" imply that you're using Access as a front-end for Oracle? I know that Access sets a query timeout value when it works with ODBC connections and this error generally occurs when you have a query that exceeds that timeout. I don't know whether Access lets you adjust that timeout, but assuming you're using the Oracle ODBC driver, you should be able to disable query timeout in the DSN configuration.

    The ORA-01013 error is a database error. The error is thrown when an activity is cancelled by the requested user before it was completed.
    In this case UCM is the application that is cancelling a database query/update/etc. UCM does this automatically if a database action takes
    longer then a treshold value (I think by default it's 30 seconds, but I am not completely sure).
    If you are suffering from ORA-01013 it might be good to contact your DBA and ask if there are any queries from your UCM application that
    take a long time. Or trace the systemdatabase event and look for queries that take a long time.

  • Message: ORA-01013: user requested cancel of current operation

    Hi,
    I have been working an issue involving an application that is receiving "Message: ORA-01013: user requested cancel of current operation" errors. These errors are seen in the Application servers which are 6, w2k3 Standard sp2.
    My problem is the users are not the ones requesting the cancel. I have worked with my application support dept and they have informed me the timeout settign is 2 seconds. As you can see in my list below these transactions are taking longer then 2 seconds. A good transaction should take less then 3ms.
    Here is a short log of bad times this has occurred:

    We can't up the timeout setting in the application, We've already looked into it and theres to much red tape for us to cut in order to implement that setting.
    Recently our DB's were upgraded from Oracle 11.2.0.2 to Oracle 11.2.0.3. The very next day is when we started receiving these alerts.
    Any thoughts?

    What's it doing during these bad transactions? Is there a difference between what those are doing and what the fast ones are doing?
    Off the top of my head with so little information, the only thing I can come up with is that a lock is being held which is delaying some of the transactions from completing until after the timeout hits.

  • ORA-01013: user requested cancel...........

    Hi,
    I've an application on Oracle 10.2.0.3.0 that run a basic script but I get always this error:
    ORA-01013: user requested cancel of current operation
    I was thinking to solve the problem by changing the ODBC settings in ODBC sources, I'd like to uncheck the "Enable Query Timeout" option, BUT when I trying to do the following with the Oracle ODBC Driver version 10.2.0.3.0 I get the error:
    "An unsupported operation was attempted"
    Have someone any idea How can I fix my ORA-01013 error and ODBC error?
    Thanks in advance!

    Sqlnet.expire_time=0 which is a way to eable DCD wil not help here.
    Please try to set the sqlnet. inbound_connect_timeout . But I doubt this will help because these parameters solves the timeout error.. the error we are getting here is like pressing ctl C while something is running.
    The best way will be to enable a client trace and see the network error.
    Also you can run the script locally to the server (if possible) to narrow down the issue.

  • Are there WF Signature Request "Rejected" notifications?

    In GSM WF, we have a step that requires a couple of Signature Requests from different functional areas.  We have noticed that when a signer rejects to "sign" that no email notification is going out to the owner of the step.  This is counter-intuitive to user experience and different than the way Supplier notifications work on SRSA workflows.  Is there a configuration to turn the GSM WFA Signature Request Rejected notification = "ON"?  If there is no configuration option, how have others solved this?  Are your users asking or have asked in the past for notification when another rejects their spec object?
    Thanks!  --Beckie

    OK, let's go over how this gets implemented:
    NOTE: Remember that this would be a custom solution. We are working on improvements to signature documents for an upcoming release.
    Because Signature Documents have their own workflow, we can add a workflow action (class) that gets triggered when a Signature Document moves from Review to Rejected/Not Approved. The Signature Document workflow is not managed in the UI, so to add a workflow action, we will use a simple database script. The custom Workflow Action class can send an email to the specification owners informing them that a signature document was Rejected, and include some helpful information.
    For example, the email body could look like the following:
    A Signature Document was Rejected for the following specification:
      Spec Number:     5112558-001
      Spec Name:        Papaya Pineapple Juice
      Current Status:  Design
    Signature Document Rejected by:
      User:    John Doe
      Reason:  Missing custom section XYZ details
    Click to view the signature document --> http://<servername>/gsm/BaseForms/frmSignatureDoc.aspx?SpecID=5816d6dc0945-a9b7-43d4-82f0-235b7b6946ff&SigDocID=5769d6654ad6-e77a-4264-bf71-0a45fac4338f
    Steps:
    1. Create a new Visual Studio project (or potentially use an existing one if you already have one for workflow actions or validations)
    2. Add the following PLM for Process DLLs as References (get them from the SharedLibs folder of your release):
    CoreAppPlatform
    DataInteraces
    DataLib
    DataObjects
    GeneralServices
    GSMLib
    LinearWorkflow
    PluginExtensions
    ProdikaCommon
    ProdikaLib
    WorkflowCore
    3. Create a new class that extends the SimpleLinearWorkflowActionBase class (from Xeno.LinearWorkflow). Here is a reference example (note this is an example class and is for demonstration purposes only):
    using System;
    using System.Collections.Generic;
    using System.Linq;
    using Xeno.Data;
    using Xeno.Data.GSM;
    using Xeno.LinearWorkflow;
    using Xeno.LinearWorkflow.WorkflowObjects;
    using Xeno.Prodika.Application;
    using Xeno.Prodika.Common;
    using Xeno.Prodika.Config;
    using Xeno.Prodika.GSMLib.Workflow;
    using Xeno.Prodika.Services;
    namespace SampleWorkflowExtension
        public class SignatureRequestRejectionNotificationAction : SimpleLinearWorkflowActionBase
            public override void Execute(ILinearTransitionContext ctx)
                var transitionContext = (SignatureDocLinearTransitionContext)ctx;
                ISpecificationService specService = GetSpecService();
                if (specService != null)
                    var currentSpec = (IBaseSpec)specService.Current;
                    var specOwnerUsers = GetSpecOwnerUsers(currentSpec);
                    if (specOwnerUsers.Count > 0)
                        SendEmailToSpecOwners(specOwnerUsers, transitionContext.SignatureDocument, currentSpec, transitionContext.Comments);
            private static List<IUser> GetSpecOwnerUsers(IBaseSpec currentSpec)
                return (from ISpecOwner specOwner in currentSpec.SpecSummary.Owners.Values
                        select AppPlatformHelper.DataManager.objectFromID(specOwner.OwnerID)).OfType<IUser>().ToList();
            private void SendEmailToSpecOwners(List<IUser> specOwnerUsers, ISignatureDocument sigDoc, IBaseSpec currentSpec, string workflowComments)
                var userService = GetUserService();
                string currentSigDocUserName  = userService.UserContext.User.Firstname + " " + userService.UserContext.User.Lastname;
                var specSummary = currentSpec.SpecSummary;
                var currentUser = userService.UserContext.User.ContainedUser as IUser;
                if (currentUser != null)
                    string from = currentUser.email;
                    string to = StringHelper.Join(specOwnerUsers, x => ((IUser) x).email, ", ");
                    string subject = String.Format("Signature Document Rejected for Spec {0} ",
                                                   currentSpec.SpecSummary.FreeTextName.Name);
                    string body = String.Format(_emailBodyTemplate,
                                                specSummary.SpecNumIssueNum,
                                                specSummary.FreeTextName.Name,
                                                specSummary.WorkflowStatus.Status,
                                                currentSigDocUserName,
                                                workflowComments,
                                                DeploymentConfig.GetAppURL("GSM"),
                                                specSummary.SpecID,
                                                sigDoc.DocId);
                    EmailService().SendMessage(from , to, subject, body);
            //todo: this should be in the database as a translation
            private const string _emailBodyTemplate = @"A Signature Document was Rejected for the following specification:
      Spec Number:     {0}
      Spec Name:       {1}
      Current Status:  {2}
    Signature Document Rejected by:
      User:    {3}
      Reason:  {4}
    Click to view the signature document --> {5}/BaseForms/frmSignatureDoc.aspx?SpecID={6}&SigDocID={7}
            private static ISpecificationService GetSpecService()
                return AppPlatformHelper.ServiceManager.GetServiceByType<ISpecificationService>();
            private static IUserService GetUserService()
                return AppPlatformHelper.ServiceManager.GetServiceByType<IUserService>();
            private static IEmailService EmailService()
                return AppPlatformHelper.ServiceManager.GetServiceByType<IEmailService>();
    4. Compile the class and place the dll into web\gsm\bin.
    5. Run the following database script to add the workflow action to the Reject workflow transition, replacing the classname, namespace, and assembly (in green below) name to your classname and assembly name. SigDocRejectSample is just a reference name for this workflow action - you can change it to something more meaningful:
    insert into gsmWorkflowActionTemplates
    values ('57602CF17ABE-9AF7-4E32-9A61-76DF5AA0E09C', 'Class:SampleWorkflowExtension.SignatureRequestRejectionNotificationAction,SampleWorkflowExtension',
    '57574dd649e7-2454-4d84-a0f3-7377d6d2c57f', 'SigDocRejectSample', 0, 0, 0);
    6. Restart the GSM application
    That's it! You should be ready to test it out.
    Note that this sample has the email subject and body written in the class, and written in English. Ideally, to support multiple languages, this should be added to the database, into the commonXLAExtensionCache and commonXLAExtensionCacheItem table. I will write up a followup on that or handle it in an upcoming Dev To Dev.

  • Reason for request rejection

    Guru's,
    I am using OIM 9.1 , and I want user to provide a reason for request rejection... i want same to reflect in Email for Rejection. Please share some information with me.
    Thanks,
    Hemant.

    As everyone says that you can use OOTB Features for Request Comments but :
    Those comments won't be mandatory (it's optional)
    Anyone can add comments there (Beneficiary/Approver/Requester), how will you find out which one is Rejection Comments.
    To avoid such issues, some people have done UI Customization for storing Rejection Comments in different format and to make those comments mandatory.

  • ARQ: Problem with Mitigation of a Risk and Request Rejection at the same time???

    Hi All,
    I have configured my workflow in such a way that, when a request reaches a certain approver (who is authorized to mitigate), he has following options available (we have configured this way):
    1. Submit the Request: This will simply approve the request. But I would NOT want him to approve the request if it has violations. First he should mitigate the risks and then approve the request.
    May I know how I can do it? Is this the correct process?
    2. Reject the Request: If he is not ok, he can reject the request. I am ok with this and no action is required.
    3. Forward the Request: If he needs any business clarifications, he can forward the request to the user's manager before mitigating and approving the request. This is also ok for me.
    4. Mitigate the risk: If a request has risk violations, he can mitigate the risks  by clicking on "Mitigate" button on "Risk Analysis" tab.
    Here is the problem I see. The straight forward what he can do is, mitigate the risks and then approve the request (Submit). However, there is one more option with him and that is, he can mitigate the risks and then changes his mind to reject the request!
    If he rejects the request (after mitigating the risks), the mitigation which was done before, is not "UNDONE". Meaning, that user is mitigated though the request is rejected!
    This is very confusing and this way users are simply mitigated for no reason!
    May I know below things:
    1. What is the best way or practice to mitigate risks in a request?
    2. How above explained problem (for point#4) can be addressed?
    3. How I can stop approving a request if it has violations?
    Please advise on this.
    Regards,
    Faisal

    Hi Faisal,
    I try to answer your question (as always ).
    You can configure that at a specifc stage the approver cannot approve if there are risks. Therefore modify the task settings for all the stages and allow/disallow "approve despite risk". For all stages where approval can be given (like role owner stage) you can activate the button so that it is possible to approve even though risks are coming up.
    To make this setting workable you have also to set parameter 1072 (Mitigation of critical risk required before approving the request) to YES.
    Regarding the mitigation which was set but is obsolet after rejection. There is actually a simple way to remove invalid controls. Run the risk analysis and gather information for "Invalid Mitigating Controls".
    In the result you have the option to change or delete the mitigation.
    Does this answer the question(s)?
    Regards,
    Alessandro

    Thanks,
    this is what I get when I am querying the dba_jobs view:

    I've got very similar problem some months ago. After some back and forth stage I've realized that the problem was in some expressions in source query that used locally defined PL/SQL functions. It appeared that Oracle tried to execute this local functions on remote server and finalyy I've got an error
    ORA-04052: error occurred when looking up remote object <schema>.<package name>@<local server url>
    When I removed the calls to local functions everything began to work fine.
    What are exact expressions for columns in your
    select col_1,...,col_n
    from local_table
    Are there any function calls there?
    Cheers
