  • URGENT: ORA-12514: Message 12514 not found;

Hi, I have a big problem:
I have a PC (PC1) with an Oracle 9.2.0.5 database.
I have other PC (client=PC2) with Oracle forms and reports runtime installed.
I try to execute my .fmx from PC2 and everything was ok.
After that, I installed again in another server (PC3) the Oracle database, and when I tried to connect from my client (PC2) to the new database, it appears the error:
    ORA-12514: Message 12514 not found; Product=RDBMS80; Facility=ORA
Why is giving this error? May be the PC3 needs an ORACLE_HOME environment variable or similar?
I've seen the following in relation with oracle_home:
In the PC server (PC3) the ora_home variable in regedit (it doesn't exists as windows environment variable) is e:\oracle\ora92
It's different from oracle_home in PC2 (Pc client) , in which is: c:\orant
    Is it important?
Is this error possible because of the TNSNAMES configuration?
Please help me, is very urgent for me.
    Thanks a lot

    Hi guys,
I've solved the problem: It was in the TNSNAMES. The service_name was incorrect. I changed it and it worked.

I am able to log on trough oracle 10g without using tnsnames.ora or sid.
But when I am trying to connect 10g database through command prompt by using

    ORA-12514: Message 12514 not found; product=RDBMS80; facility=ORA
I have tried tnsping xe on command prompt it is taking only 30msec. But still I am getting this error.

    Hi to all,
Is any knowledgable person is available in this group who can help me out of this problem.
    I have done following things.
    1) Installed Oracle XE version.
    2) Installed Forms 6i
I am able to connect OracleXE through sqlplus system/abcd command but not with system/abcd@XE i.e. (with SID).
Hence I am not able to connect OracleXE through Oracle Forms.
Checked with tnsping xe at Dos Prompt.
    Getting connected through 30 seconds.
Listener is up & Running and it is in started mode.
netstat command is showing me the port 1521 (as opened)
But Still I am not able to connect Forms 6i with OracleXE version.
Please suggest me what should I do.

  • ORA-39565 message

I'm trying to use WEBSERVICES in an Oracle Report (9i). I've successfully used the JAVA IMPORTER to import my needed classes. I created a FORMULA COLUMN and added PL/SQL to instantiate 3 OBJECTS. When testing I can instantiate the first OBJECT (at least I don't blow up here). The 2nd and 3rd OBJECTS give me a ORA-39565 : message 39565 not found; product=RDBMS; facility=ORA message. What does this mean?

I implement WebServices in my Reports using the 'WebService Data Source'. Then you can include WebServices in your Reports the same way that you include SQL, PL/SQL, JDBC, etc queries.
Download is available from the Reports home page:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/reports/index.html
Click on "Plugin Exchange" (right column), and then download "WebService Data Source".

  • ORA-17612: Message 17612 not found; product=RDBMS; facility=ORA ; arguments

    Hi,
    OS : Sun OS 64-bit
    Database : 9.2.0.5
I have copied the oracle from one server to another server and relinked the oracle software.
The source server has the Veritas components installed.
In the destination we don't want that.
So after relinking the oracle Software.
when trying to startup the database.
    It gives the following error.
    ORA-17612: Message 17612 not found; product=RDBMS; facility=ORA ; arguments: [2]
There is no proper documentation for this error.
the software is looking for the library.
I want to this because instead of downloading and installing the relink make my work easy.

Ya i have checked everything is correct.
But this is due to that it is looking for the media management software.
Veritas. i have even searched on google.
    http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/250824.htm
    This exactly matches my case.
now i dont want oracle to use that Veritas or Media Management library.

Please post the complete error message from the worker log file.

    Hi All,
I am using pro*c to connect to DB. My application was working fine till today. All of a sudden without changing any application configuration I started getting error during connect.
    Statement executed
    EXEC SQL CONNECT :sqli_username IDENTIFIED BY :sqli_password USING :sqli_db_instance ;
All Bind variable populated correctly still getting following error.
    ORA--0001: Message -1 not found; product=RDBMS; facility=ORA
I tried to debug and search on internet for problem however as you can see sqlca.sqlcode is negative value -0001 which is not mapped to logical oracle error.
I could see on oracle site
sqlca.sqlcode <0 - Means that Oracle did not execute the statement because of a database, system, network, or application error. Such errors can be fatal. When they occur, the current transaction should, in most cases, be rolled back.
But how will I understand what was exact reason for failure.
Any help or direction is very much appreciated ..
    Thanks.

You probably want to make sure your $ORACLE_HOME is set correctly.

The "message not found" error is almost invariably due to not having ORACLE_HOME properly set.  That error is actually a secondary error.  Some other error occurred, and when oracle tried to reported it, could not find the messages file that provides the text for all the error messages.  That message file is expected to be at a specific location relative to ORACLE_HOME.  So if ORACLE_HOME is not correct ... you get this problem.

    Hello Jim!
    Sorry this is an internal Oracle-Error;
the last exception-handler in Oracle-kernal throws this number when this exception is not catched by normal error-routines.
    You should ask Oracle-Support!
Probably : your db is running in Archive log mode; is the Disk full ?

  • Repeated ORA-12547 Messages after installing Oracle 10g

    Hi,
I installed Oracle 10g on a Redhat ES 3 box, and the install went okay, but when I try and interact with the server I get the message:
    ORA-12547: TNS: lost contact
For example, if I use the Database Configuration Assistant to attempt to create a database, I will see the above message when it begins the database creation process, or if I try to interact with the Oracle server using sqlplus I will see the above message after each command entered.
I had recently tried to install Oracle 8.1.7 on the same box, but abandoned that after deciding that the effort required to link Oracle 8 on RHES3 just wasn't worth it. I have been told that this previous partial installation may be the cause of the problem, and have been advised to uninstall Oracle 8, uninstall Oracle 10g, and reinstall Oracle 10g. I find it hard to believe that it would require such an action to solve this problem. Is there any configuration changes I can make to resolve it? Also, what does this message actually mean?
I am new to Oracle, so thanks for any help with this problem.
    Colm.

My last message asking for a grater degree of specificity was not overly specific, hence I am posting the kernel parms that I have set with the hopes that you will spot one that I set improperly or one that I neglected to set.
