ORA-28500 Oracle 11g Gateway problem
Hi,
I have installed Oracle database 11g and configured Oracle Gateway 11g on Linux operating system.
I have created a database link through which i access data from SQL Server. By this below command,
select * from tablename@sqlserver; Where sqlserver is the db link.
It fetches the data but after some time connection automatically breaks and displayed below error message.
ERROR:

ORACLE 11g + PHP5 problem: "fetch out of sequence" on remote database link
Hi!
I have a new server with oracle 11g (11.1.0.7) database and apache/php5 (actual build) on linux.
connection type is dedicated.
when doing a connection to a remote AS/400 database I always get this error:
"Warning: oci_fetch_array() http://function.oci-fetch-array: ORA-01002: fetch out of sequence ORA-02063: preceding line from..."
when doing the same simple "select * from database link" at my old server with oracle 9i and apache/php5 no problem occurrs.
this happens at AS/400 database link only. normal oracle database links work fine.
Anyone an idea how to solve this problem or where the problem is????
further info:
when doing " select * from [ database link ] where rownum < 11 " it works, but when doing the query with more than 10 results I get the error. Any idea?
bye,
Oliver
Edited by: user501548 on 10.10.2008 02:20well a fetch out of sequence usually indicates that a cursor has been closed before the process has finished fetching or some such thing.
I'm not aware of there being a specific problem with the situation you outline, but maybe if you could provide all the connection setup and how you are trying to connect that may give a better idea.
Also, you may be better asking on the General Database Discussions forum as this isn't really a SQL or PL/SQL problem -
ORACLE 11g + PHP5 problem: "fetch out of sequence" on i5/OS AS/400
Hi!
I have a big problem using a database connection to i5 AS/400 with PHP5 OCI8 interface by Oracle 11g:
when doing a simple "select * from (as400_database_link)" I get this return: "fetch out of sequence... preceding line..."
I never had this problem with 9i, old transparent gateway.
BUT:
when doing for example a "select * from (as400_database_link) where rownum < 1000000" it works fine without problems.
Anyone an idea how to eliminate this stupid "where rownum < 100000" behaviour?
I would have to add this in many select statements... ;(
bye,
OliverTach,
how do you call oci_execute ?
try oci_execute($query,OCI_DEFAULT);
I had the same problem with adodb
$q = " select * from elephant@africa";
$db->GetAll($q);
Failed with the same error.
ADODB called oci_execute with OCI_COMMIT_ON_SUCCESS,which caused my error.
$q = " select * from elephant@africa";
$db->BeginTrans();
$db->GetAll($q);
$db->CommitTrans(); (or rollback);
did the job,because BeginTrans changed oci_execute to run with OCI_DEFAULT.
Hope this helps,
gw

Installing Oracle 11g database problem (loopback adatper problem)
Hi, I tried to install Oracle 11g and I got a warning mentioning that I need to install Loopback adapter first.
I followed the Loopback adapter installation instruction from the oracle website, and in the last step I need to add a line to the hosts file. Which is where I got a problem...my laptop doesn't have a domain name, but it's a workgroup name instead.
So can I put this:
ip_address host_name
instead of this:
ip_address host_name.domain_name host_name
And if we cannot do that, should I try this 2nd method below?:
I also read one thread in the forum saying that we don't need to install Loopback adapter, but instead we have to edit the listener.ora and tnsnames.ora files and make the value for HOST 127.0.0.1.
Message was edited by:
user610037If I understand you correctly, I should add a line like this in the host file(a, b, c or d??):
example: My computer host name is: "David"
a) "10.10.10.10 David.testing.com"
or
b) "10.10.10.10 David.testing.com David"
or
c) "10.10.10.10 localhost.testing.com
or
d) "10.10.10.10 localhost.testing.com localhost" -
ORACLE 11G INSTALLATION PROBLEM ON WIN7 32 bit
okay i intalled the 11g edition but quite unsuccesfully . This is the view of start menu entry
start->allprograms->oracle 11g express edition->empty
Well, it shouldn't be like this !
Can't figure out why ?
Edited by: 908289 on Jan 16, 2012 3:52 AM
Edited by: 908289 on Jan 16, 2012 7:59 AMi have the folder named oracleexe and app folder inside it . so this is what i should get as installed folders i guess !!Yes, that's what you can expect after a successful installation. Take a look in the direct ".\oracle\product\11.2.0\server" below the "app" directory. Do you see some url-link files there? (Despite several other subdirectories, of course...)
Two of them should be the "Database_homepage" and "Get_Started". Try to call them.
And Oracle XE service is started . Well, that's great. Sounds like all you lack is the links in you task menu.
i couldn't quite get you here . which software/ programs are you referring to ? The start menu entry created is shown already as it is in the problem above and installation folders are there as i mentioned above . what else ,you refferring to ?I just wanted to check whether the installer has registered the database in the Windows list. This is part of a successful installation and would offer you the opporunity to uninstall (and perhaps reinstall) the whole package.
Also , i am not sure which lOG file to check there because there are a lot of them !!As your database seems to be running as noted above, it doesn't seem to be necessary to go into these details.
You should be able to access your database, either by using the links mentioned above, or, if these failed to be created, by calling the URLs by hand, e.g.
http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex/f?p=4950 for "Get_Started" and
http://127.0.0.1:8080/htmldb for the "Database_homepage".
You should also be able to use the command line tool by calling sqlplus from a command window.
If that doesn't satisfy you or you face any errors, you could try to reinstall.

Oracle 11g AQ : problem enqueue user-defined type with varchar2 attribute
Hello.
I have a problem enqueuing a user-defined type to the queue on Oracle 10g.
I'm using jdbc driver (ojdbc5.jar, version 11.1.0.6.0) as they provide oracle.jdbc.aq package.
The type is following:

Then in test app:

logger.debug(s + ".dump(): " + s.dump());and if i comment line (data._struct.setNChar(1);) the debug messages for created STRUCT also shows empty value for label.
But if i explicitly call data._struct.setNChar(1) then debug contains the label i defined in call to the setLabel method. -
Oracle 11g R2, Problem Loading Spatial Data
We have a geodatabase which has been implemented by oracle spatial. it has been working quite fine since 2 years ago. Recently the data center serving our geodatabase has been upgraded on both software and hardware specifications. The handler application now has difficulty retrieving spatial data. The problem is somehow strange; only some spatial objects are loaded and then application encounters exceptions.
Previous working database engine was an Oracle 11g R1 and the new one is Oracle 11g R2. The application is a java application mostly written by swing. Here is the stack trace:

I read in some forums that the problem could be caused by jdbc version incompatibility, so I just copied jdbc archives from the installed oracle 11g R2 jdbc folder but the problem persists. Last thing I should mention is that only spatial data is problemistic and non-spatial data is easily loaded.
Please Help, Thanks.Hi storm,
During the installation of oracle as you said if you have given the global password, basically this specific password will reflect to users such as
-sys
-system
-dbsnmp
-sysman
As you are new to oracle the basics that you should know is that "SYS" user is the highly privileged user in Oracle and should be logged in as "sys as sysdba" with his respective password (i.e. the global password that you have entered during database installation) to obtain his privilege. Remember to manipulate your database with caution when you are logged in as the sys user. You can log into the database using the sys user in the following way:
c\> sqlplus sys as sysdba
password: ****** --It will ask you for the password and you will have to give the global password that was given during installation
Hope this helps!!!

ORA-28500: connection from ORACLE to a non-Oracle system returned this message: ORA-02063: preceding line from OWB_75
Scenario:
I am having difficulty getting ODBC connection between Oracle OWB app with an 11gR2 DB (running on a VirtualBox Linux) and SQL Server 2008 running directly on the host. (Windows 8)
I am trying to take a SQL Server 2008 feed into Oracle Ware house Builder, and think(!) I have read everything and configured it in accordance (but I presume not given 3 days of failed attempts to fix it). I have also read several blogs, hence there might be a few more settings in the configuration files than the formal documentation says, but these have come from blogs that have “Solved” problems for other similar situations.
The environments:

Rafe.Let us rewrite your ODBC DSN a little bit... Your current odbc.ini looks like:
[ACME_POS]
Driver = FreeTDS
Description = ODBC Connection via FreeTDS
Trace = 1
Servername = 192.168.1.80
Database = dbo
Let us change it a little bit so that we only need one config file - no odbcinst.ini nor freetds.conf file anymore:
[ACME_POS]
Driver =/usr/local/lib/libtdsodbc.so
Server = 192.168.1.80
Database
= dbo #### I have some doubts that you have a SQL Server database called dbo - one database that always exists is master - so as a test use master here or get the real database name of the SQL Server database you want to connect
Port = 60801 ## make sure it really is the correct port - best would be to check on the SQL server and then try telnet <ip> <port> if you can connect to the SQL server
TDS_Version = 8.0
QuotedId=YES
Especially the last 2 parameters are mandatory. TDS_Version specifies the TDS Version you have to use to connect to the SQL Server and QuotedID is required for DG4ODBC as it surrounds objevt names by double quotes.
What happens now when you try to connect with for example isql - the ODBC test utility shipped with the ODBC Driver manager?
In addition, could you please do me another favour and check the word size of DG4ODBC and the ODBC Driver Manager as well as the ODBC Driver - just execute:
file /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1/bin/dg4odbc
file /usr/local/lib/libtdsodbc.so
file < the patch to your libodbc.so library>/libodbc.so
and post the output. -
Oracle 11g R2 to MS Access .mdb (Windows Server 2008 64-bit) problem
I have a need to make connection from Oracle 11g R2 to MS Access database file (mdb). OS is MS Windows Server 2008 64-bit. My configuration is next:
1. I made System DNS mikeacs (using c:\windows\sys_wow6\odbcad32.exe) to my access mdb file;
2. I made initmikeacs.ora file in ora_home\hs\admin folder:
# HS init parameters
HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO = mikeacs
HS_FDS_TRACE_LEVEL = debug
HS_FDS_SHAREABLE_NAME = c:\Windows
3. Listener.ora file is:
SID_LIST_LISTENER =
(SID_LIST =
(SID_DESC =
(SID_NAME = CLRExtProc)
(ORACLE_HOME = C:\Oracle\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1)
(PROGRAM = extproc)
(ENVS = "EXTPROC_DLLS=ONLY:C:\Oracle\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\bin\oraclr11.dll")
(SID_DESC =
(SID_NAME = mikeacs)
(ORACLE_HOME = c:\oracle\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1)
(PROGRAM = dg4odbc)
LISTENER =
(DESCRIPTION_LIST =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC1521))
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = cspo02)(PORT = 1521))
4. Tnsnames.ora is:
ORACLR_CONNECTION_DATA =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC1521))
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SID = CLRExtProc)
(PRESENTATION = RO)
MIKEACS =
(DESCRIPTION=
(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=cspo02)(PORT=1521))
(CONNECT_DATA=(SID=mikeacs))
(HS=OK)
5. After this, I restarted Listener:
lsnrctl stop;
lsnrctl start;
Given feedback:

6. I created db link: create public database link macs using 'MIKEACS' (connected as sysdba);
7. tnsping mikeacs:

Attempting to contact (DESCRIPTION= (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=cspo02)(PORT=1521)) (CONNECT_DATA=(SID=mikeacs)) (HS=OK))

Then, when I try fire query (connected as sysdba): select * from mytable@macs;
get result:
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-28513: internal error in geterogeneous remote agent
ORA-02063: preceding line from MACS;
Although, when I fire the same query, but connected as other user, get next result:
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-28500: connection from ORACLE to a non-Oracle system returned this message:
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default

Where is my problem? Please help. Thanks in advance!That's the problem. DG4ODBC on 64bit Windows is 64bit and thus it also requires a 64bit ODBC driver.
If you don't find one - maybe you can install DG4ODBC 32bi on a 32bit platform (please do NOT install it on the 64bit Windows machine) and then use this 32biit DG4ODBC with the 32bit ODBC driver.
Another option would be to purchase a commercial ODBC driver or a bridged ODBC driver. -
Problems with Oracle 11g XE R2
Hi guys,
I've got a problem and try'n to solve it for abt a week now and tried many solutions.
My enviroment:
Windows 7 Professional SP 1 64-Bit
AMD Phenom II x4 940 @3.0 GH
4 GB RAM (In Usage while installing 40%)
Windows-Firewall is activated (but oracle.exe and lstnr.exe are configured as exception)
avast! Free Antivirus Version 2014.9.0.2018
Installation (both times with same outcome):
Installed O 11g XE 64-Bit in two different ways:
User I was logged in with is in Admingroup
Started installation via rightclick with administrationprivileges
I activated the administrators account and logged in with adminprivileges.
After that I've installed the 11g XE 64 bit
between both steps I cleaned everything up and restarted my system, registry was empty too and folder was deleted manually
at first I get this problem: Windows cannot find "http://127.0.0.1:%HTTPPORT%/apex/f?p=4950"
-> Manually changing %HTTPORT% to 8080
--> now I could doubleclick the shortcut, Firefox/IE/Chrome opens but 404 not Found-Error is returned
- OracleServiceXE, XracleXETNListener both are running

so I started investigating a bit more:
Registryfolder: HK_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE is installed
following subdirectories are installed: KEY_XE, ODP.NET, OracleMTSRecoveryService
What I tried (both ways, starting with and without adminstrationprivileges):
I created two new DWORD-Values in KEY_XE ORACLE_SID_AUTOSTART and -SHUTDOWN both with the value True and stopped and started the services, nothing changes.
Inserted both users (Administrator and normal User) in ORA_DBA-Group, nothing changes, even tried to turn it off and on again

--> bingo, 1st Issue: there is no spfileXE.ora, how can I create this? plus in the dbs-folder there is only a init.ora and no initXE.ora?
Looked into the log-Folder 5 files starting with clscX.txt (probably after every systemreboot? containing the following:

Problem was, the XE.bat-Script couldn't add me to the ORA_DBA-Group.
Reason: my Computername and my username, both had a vowel mutation "ü".
Reason it didn't work at my business-laptop too, both have my "Ü" in the username

Not able to create a database link using the database gateway of oracle 11g
HI,
While trying to create a database link to SQL server from Oracle ,using the database gateway provided with 11g, i am getting the following error while making use of it in selecting columns from tables :
Error starting at line 1 in command:
select * from test1@dblink
Error at Command Line:1 Column:20
Error report:
SQL Error: ORA-28513: internal error in heterogeneous remote agent
ORA-02063: preceding line from DBLINK
These are the steps i have followed for setting up:
1.Ran the set up for the Database gateway.and mentioned the SQL server name and database .ALos set up a listener.
2. Added the following in the Listener.ora of Oraclehome 11/NETWORK/ADMIN:
LISTENER_SQL_FCD =
(DESCRIPTION_LIST =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST =localhost) (PORT = 1541)
SID_LIST_LISTENER_SQL_FCD =
(SID_LIST =
(SID_DESC =
(SID_NAME=dg4msql)
(ORACLE_HOME= D:\app\20537\product\11.1.0\db_3)
(PROGRAM=dg4msql)
3.Added the following in tnsnames.ora inOracle home/NETWORK/ADMIN:
dg4msql=
(DESCRIPTION=
(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=localhost)(PORT=1541))
(CONNECT_DATA=(SID=dg4msql))
(HS=OK)
4. Following is the entry in initdg4msql.ora in C:\product\11.1.0\tg_5\dg4msql\admin:
HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO=10.148.45.242:1433//SalesDemo
HS_FDS_TRACE_LEVEL=DEBUG
HS_FDS_RECOVERY_ACCOUNT=RECOVER
HS_FDS_RECOVERY_PWD=RECOVER
5. Created the database link :
create database link dblink
connect to "sa" identified by "<pswd>"
using 'dg4msql'
On running :select * from test1@dblink i get the following error:
Error starting at line 1 in command:
select * from test1@dblink
Error at Command Line:1 Column:20
Error report:
SQL Error: ORA-28513: internal error in heterogeneous remote agent
ORA-02063: preceding line from DBLINK
Is there any issue with the set or definition that I get the above error?What is the version of the Oracle database in which you have specified/and use the database link?
If it is for example 10.2.0.3.0 you need to apply the mandatory patch for RDBMS bug 5965763 first before being able to use an 11g gateway. Have a look at MetaLink note 457808.1 for details about this patch.

Ed
