ORA-31466: no publications found (Oracle 10.2.0.1.0)

When I execute
BEGIN
DBMS_CDC_SUBSCRIBE.SUBSCRIBE(
subscription_name => 'C1_SUB',
source_schema => 'R1',
source_table => 'C1啊',
column_list => 'COL1埃, COL2唉',
subscriber_view => 'C1_VIEW');
END;
with chinese characters in table name and column name against
Oracle 10.2.0.1.0 database (UTF8 characterset).
Square symbol above idicates simplified chinese characters.
I'm able to publish table name with chinese characters.
If I use American English Characters, There is absolutely no issue.
I got following error
<ORA-31466: no publications found
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_CDC_ISUBSCRIBE", line 10
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_CDC_SUBSCRIBE", line 135
ORA-06512: at line 1
I have set NLS_LANG to
SIMPLIFIED CHINESE_CHINA.ZHS16GBK
If I execute same package using DBMS_LOGMNR_CDC_SUBSCRIBE against Oracle9i database, everything works fine.
What is the problem?

Hi Ajit
Try metalink ID Note:311655.1 for your problem
which refers to this Bug 4397678 - Enhancement Request For Cdc
Goal
As a "subscriber" user, when trying to create a subscription and the
staging table permissions have only been granted via a role, and
although the "subscriber" user account has been granted the role and
can otherwise query the staging tables, the subscription fails with
the following error message: ORA-31466: no publications found
SQL> BEGIN
DBMS_CDC_SUBSCRIBE.SUBSCRIBE(
subscription_name => 'TEST_SUB',
source_schema => 'TEST_SOURCE',
source_table => 'TESTCDC',
column_list => 'TEST_ID',
subscriber_view => 'TEST_VIEW');
END;
2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 BEGIN
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-31466: no publications found
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_CDC_SUBSCRIBE", line 19
ORA-06512: at line 2
Solution
Currently the permissions need to granted directly and not through
a role.
There are two possible enhancements:
1.Allow subscriptions to occur when the "subscriber" user has been
granted staging table access via SELECT privileges granted to a role.
2.If the first option is not feasible, clearly document it in
documentation that "subscribers" must be granted access via granting
of SELECT privileges to user accounts, not through roles.
An enhancement request for this Bug 4397678. The status of the bug
can be viewed through metalink.

  • OCI Error ORA-01403: no data found in oracle goldengate replication after tts instaniation

    I recently migrated our tg core system from sun solaris(11.1.0.7) to linux (11.2.0.3) environment using goldengate method (transportable tablespace method used for instantiation).
    The initial replication worked with HANDLECOLLISIONS and after I monitor the lag finished, I took Handlecollisions off and noticed discarded report with OCI Error ORA-01403: no data found in two replications.
    I followed every step in the tts migration steps provided by oracle best practice.
    Can anybody provide any clue how do I fix this issue?
    Thank you in advance.

    extract and replicat are on schema level.
    DO I have to do anything for replication on schema level?

  • Forms application returns "ORA-01403 no data found" exception on Windows 7

    Hi everyone,
    I am currently involved in an application compatibility project for an O/S migration from Windows XP to Windows 7.
    We have a legacy Oracle Dev6i P18 Forms application that has been working perfectly on Windows XP for the last decade or so. When we installed the same application on Windows 7, it returned a pop-up error message with the text: "ORA-01403 no data found" when performing a certain operation (clicking on a Submit button in a specific form). The same operation works successfully on Windows XP displaying the message "Submit has been successful".
    This error is well documented and the solution involves adding an exception handler to the faulting SQL statement(s) in order to handle the ORA-01403 exception. Unfortunately, the application is composed of compiled forms (.FMX) and we no longer have the source code so I can't implement this solution.
    I ran a file comparison utility (WinDiff from the Windows SDK) and confirmed that all the files in the application folder and the Oracle Dev6i P18 folder are identical on both the Windows XP and Windows 7 systems.
    I enabled tracing in SQLNet.ORA by configuring TRACE_LEVEL_CLIENT=SUPPORT (I know, too verbose) and other related settings on both systems and have uploaded the traces to my SkyDrive for public viewing:
    http://sdrv.ms/10BNYtI
    The traces show that the "ORA-01403" exception occurs many times on both Windows XP and Windows 7 systems as a result of various SQL statements being executed, for instance:
    SELECT TASK_ID,TASK_DETAIL_STATUS,ASSIGNED_DATE FROM TASK_DETAILS WHERE TASK_ID = :b1 AND TASK_DETAIL_STATUS = (SELECT ID FROM V_TASK_STATUS WHERE ABBREVIATION = 'PLANNED' ) FOR UPDATE OF TASK_DETAIL_STATUS,ASSIGNED_DATE
    UPDATE TASK_DETAILS SET ASSIGNED_DATE=NTMS_UTIL.GET_SERVER_DATE,TASK_DETAIL_STATUS=(SELECT ID FROM V_TASK_STATUS WHERE ABBREVIATION = 'ASSIGNED' ) WHERE ROWID = :b1
    ORA-01403: no data found.
    So the same error happens on both Windows XP and Windows 7.
    On Windows XP, the error is somehow handled, and does not cause the "Submit" operation to fail.
    On Windows 7, however, the error bubbles to the surface and is displayed to the user, thus halting the "Submit" operation.

    Thank you. I'm well aware that adding an exception handler is the classic solution to the ORA-01403 error. However, like I mentioned in my original post, I don't have the source code. All I have are the compiled .FMX forms so I can't implement such a solution:
    From my original post:
    This error is well documented and the solution involves adding an exception handler to the faulting SQL statement(s) in order to handle the ORA-01403 exception. • PLSQL function body returning an sql report returns ORA-01403 No Data Found

    I am on APEX 3.1.2.00.02 and Oracle 10g.
    I am developing a report with SQL Query (PL/SQL function body returning SQL query) type. But on running the report I am getting
    report error:
    ORA-01403: no data found

      V_QRY := qry;
    end;
    The query will be enhanced later to add more months and year based on user parameters once I am successfull in running report on this.
    I wish to use Query Specific Column names. I have seen this suggestion from Scott in a number of threads to use /*select 1 from dual */ with query but not working in my case.
    Can someone please suggest what can I do to make it working?
    Regards,
    Amir

    Firstly, have you unit tested the procedure (namely, within the SQL Workshop, SQL*Plus, SQL Developer,etc, etc.) to see if it produces the right output in the first place?
    If you have, and the query string generated is valid, try assigning the output to a page item (thus allowing you to view it in the session browser) or even pass the procedure output into the debug window (with the use of the wwv_flow.debug function). This might reveal some state or session change which is causing it not to return.You might find this easier to achieve if you change from a 'procedure and out parameter' combination to a 'function returning string' approach.
    Alternatively, try re-creating the report in a new region - occasionally I've come across weird bugs with report regions which resolved themselves in this manner.

  • Error in standard SIT form : ORA-01403: no data found

    Hi
    I have created a custom responsibility and menu.

    Whenever I try to access the function it opens the FORMS and gives the error.
    ORA-01403: no data found
    FRM-40735: WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE trigger raised unhandled exception ORA-06502.
    Any ideas?

    Did you do as follows?
    Create a Menu ‘SIT_MENU’:
    Name: SIT_MENU
    User Menu Name: Enter Person Special Information
    Menu Type: Standard
    Desc: (optional)
    Seq: 1
    Prompt: Special Info Types
    Function: Enter Person Special Information
    2. Create Responsibility and attach the Menu as follows:
    Rsponsibility Name: SIT Responsibility
    Application: Human Resources
    Resp. Key: SIT
    Available From: Oracle Applications
    Data Group: Standard
    Application: Human Resources
    Menu: Enter Person Special Information
    Now you can attach this responsibility to a user and test.

    This is a PL/SQL error, it occurs when a cursor (SQL statement) is called and returned no values, typically you should have an exception handler in the PL/SQL to mange this. But sometimes you want the PL/SQL to fail.
    The parameters you are using to invoke the PL/SQL procedure returned no values, therefore to fix provide information that does return values, or in the PL/SQL put an exception handler in to manage the no-data-found error, e.g.
    begin
      Select ...
      Into ..
      From ..
      Where ..
    Exception
      when no_data_found then
    end;cheers

  • Exception occured during invocation of JCA binding ORA-01403: no data found ORA-06512: at line 1

    Dear Legends,
    My requirement is to call store procedure from BPEL. So for I created a BPEL with 2 assign activity and 1 Invoke activity to Invoke the DB adapter. After Deploying I tested the process but it shows the following error:
    <bpelFault><faultType>0</faultType><bindingFault xmlns="http://schemas.oracle.com/bpel/extension"><part name="summary"><summary>Exception occured when binding was invoked.
    Exception occured during invocation of JCA binding: "JCA Binding execute of Reference operation 'DB_SBL_SPROCS1' failed due to: Interaction processing error.

    ORA-06512: at line 1
    Check to ensure that the XML containing parameter data matches the parameter definitions in the XSD.  This exception is considered not retriable, likely due to a modelling mistake.  To classify it as retriable instead add property nonRetriableErrorCodes with value "-1403" to your deployment descriptor (i.e. weblogic-ra.xml).  To auto retry a retriable fault set these composite.xml properties for this invoke: jca.retry.interval, jca.retry.count, and jca.retry.backoff.  All properties are integers.
    The invoked JCA adapter raised a resource exception.
    Please examine the above error message carefully to determine a resolution.

    What does the above error says?
    1. Whether concern Grant or Execute Privileges is not properly provided to the user?
    2. Is there any Dangling Privileges are prevailing?
    3. Is that the Store Procedure to be Handled with an Error Handling by means of Exception?
    4. Is that I have been giving wrong test data?
    5. Is that No data being existing in the Procedure?
    6. Is that anything related to XA and NON-XA Data Source?
    Any kind of help would be much appreciated. Thanks in Advance.
    Thanks,
    Karthik

    Can you check the following ?
    a. Hopefully the when you execute the procedure using sql tool it works fine and returns data.
    b. Is there any input parameter available for procedure ?
    c. IF yes, is the parameter is mapped with the procedure parameter and populated with value before calling the procedure ?
    d. In the audit trial, you can see from the invoke activity to see whether the parameter is populated with value or not ?
    e. Check the input parameter by executing the procedure with sql tool to see whether this request is receiving any data in return or not ?
    Thanks,
    Vijay

    Can some one help me out where am i going wrong???

    Hi Gourab
    You have posted this request to the wrong forum, so no one here will be able to help you.
    I believe the correct forum for the question you are asking is the EBS Financials forum:

    Please try posting your query there, hopefully someone there will be able to help you.

  • AFTER INSERT TIGGER, ora-01403: no data found error

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to create a fairly simple trigger which fires after an insert on a table.
    The trigger is based on a function, defined within a package. The function is as follows...
    FUNCTION check_contract_length (V_playerId IN NUMBER)
    RETURN BOOLEAN
    IS
    months NUMBER;
    months2 NUMBER;
    BEGIN
    SELECT months_between(contract_end, contract_start), contract_length
    INTO months, months2
    FROM player
    WHERE playerId = v_playerId;
    IF months <> months2 THEN
    RETURN (true);
    END IF;
    RETURN (false);
    END check_contract_length;The trigger operates when an insert is made on to the player table, it as defined as follows...
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER play_ins_con
    AFTER INSERT ON player
    FOR EACH ROW
    DECLARE
    isover BOOLEAN;
    BEGIN
    IF INSERTING THEN
    isover := player_constr_pkg.check_contract_length(:new.playerId);
    IF isover THEN
    RAISE_APPLICATION_ERROR(-30001, 'Contract length incorrect');
    END IF;
    END IF;
    END play_ins_con;My problem is, is that every time I try to insert a row into the player table, the trigger fires and produces a "ora-01403: no data found" error. I was under the impression that as the trigger fires after an insert, this shouldn't be a problem.
    I'm also aware that this constraint can probably be implemented using a CHECK constraint, however it would be a learning curve for me to work it out this way.
    Any help would be much appreciated!!
    Cheers guys.

    I'm also aware that this constraint can probably be implemented using a CHECK constraint,
    however it would be a learning curve for me to work it out this way.Starting out by doing stuff the wrong way only increases the learning curve when it comes to doing things the right way. A check constraint is definitely the best way of doing it. However, if you must do it with a trigger this is the way to go:
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER play_ins_con BEFORE INSERT ON player
    FOR EACH ROW
    BEGIN
        IF months_between(:NEW.contract_end, :NEW.contract_start) <> :NEW.contract_length
        THEN
            RAISE_APPLICATION_ERROR(-30001, 'Contract length incorrect');
        END IF;
    END play_ins_con;
    /Incidentally, as CONTRACT_LENGTH is wholly derivable from the other columns your table structure is obviously insufficiently normalised.
    Also, note that only errors between -20999 and -20000 are reserved for our use. Any other number may be used by Oracle for its own purposes.
    Cheers, APC
