Hi... I am installing ORA AS 10G R2 on windows server 2008 but the installation stops with error message like "OS version should be 5.0.0 " appears

AryaDid you got the error in between when DBCA executed some percentage of work? PLease check its logfiles to get the exact error.

Problem instalation ora database 11g r2 in windows server 2008 r2 PATH variable failed
Dear Experts
I'm installing a database Oracle Database 11 r2, in an operating system Window Server 2008 R2.
The problem:
When the installer verifying that the path it ends. simply.
I did:
the basic steps, how to put all the unzipped files in a single directory.
E: \ ORACLE \ Installers \ Database \ win64_11gR2_database_1of2
And the installation will:
E: \ ORACLE \ orcl_database
and
I did tests with different values in the PATH variable:
short values,
no% oracle_home%
with% oracle_home%
long values
Always ran the installer as administrator.
Anyway,
Do not know what else could test to change this result and successfully install the database.
I have done several searches on this forum and others and have not found what could change to achieve success in the installation

Oracle DB 10g XE on Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit
Hello to everybody!
I have and old pc with Windows Server 2003 (32 bit) where i've installed Oracle DB 10g XE. Everything works fine.
Now i have to migrate the DB from that old machine to a new one with Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit.
I've tryied to install the Oracle DB 10g XE into the new server but, after installation is finished, i wasn't able to open the DB homepage at http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex. It said "This page can't be displayed". I try with SQLPLUS but after i insert the admin credentials i obtain these lines:

ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
Where can be the problem?>> ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
Database is not running. Most likely the installer did not complete all its tasks, it can happen.
For windows, the database service has to be set up (see Start/Run/services.msc), services started, installer creates the database, and quite a few other setup chores. If the database creation fails, all the other stuff is not relevant.
Under the <drive:>oraclexe folder there *should* be a datafiles (*.DBF) files somewhere. Can't recall the exact location for 10g. Try file explorer and a search for *.dbf files, that will probably come up empty.
Note the requirements, at Oracle&reg; Database Express Edition it calls for x86, not x64. The 11g XE also has lots of trouble getting a successful install on x64 as well, note the Download page states "does not work on x64" although some folks have gotten it to work.Try the deinstall steps, and use a right click/run as Administrator that *might* get past the UAC glitch that happens on the later OS versions. -
Installation 12c R1 on Windows Server 2008 R2

I had a bad idea - try the new database.
So:
1) Downloading oracle DB files, but download interrupted (lost Wi-Fi - my fault), but auth token was expired and I have to redownload 90%.
2) Installing Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition (I want to install English edition, but I had only Russian one)
3) Spending a lot of time to install, and wont install.
I made some attempts (each with new OS installation):
with/without UAC, from network/local drive, desktop/server class, existing/new user, each editions, both charset... But all of them were unsuccessful.
Installation show popup errors like that:
"DIM-00019: create service error
O/S-Error: (OS 1387) ?? ??????? ???????? ??? ??????? ????? ????????? ??????, ??? ??? ?? ?? ??????????. "
Ora error
Log file have a lot of useful information, like this:

Interestingly, does Oracle have any testing stuffI have no doubt that the problem in the OS localization.
But, taking into account some facts:
World population is estimated to number 7.126 billion people.
Anglosphere is about 740 million people.
I have not found information about the supported OS languages.
I'm worried about losing my non-English data.
I am for the licensed software, but a trial and registered OS has the same functionality, and displays messages/data in the same way.
I doubt that the OS registration will allow installer to properly finish and even display the error correctly. (Java strings is UTF-based, so, developers should set correct code page. Probably, because system code page can be different with console code page (cp866 for Russian). Current codepage could be view by executing "chcp" in console).
In any case Enterprise-class product should operate correctly on each supported systems, or inform about problems before. -

Oracle 11.2.0.3 on Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit
Good night Oracle community,
I'm having problems on using Oracle 11.2.0.3 on Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit that runs inside a virtual machine.
The first problem was the error ORA-12152 (unable to send break message) when using a 32-bit server version when trying to connect via SQLPlus using domain administrator user. I did reboot, tnsping, checked parameters and oracle support articles but neither help me. So I uninstalled it and installed the 64-bit version and it wasn't possible to run the applications like netca.
Now I installed it on a local profile version 32-bit to see if the problem was related to the domain.
My question is simple: is this environment ok to run a production database server? 11.2.0.3 is that stable with Windows 2008?

(Windows Server 2008 Enterprise SP2 64-bit)
I have already installed Oracle DB 11g R2 64-bit for Windows.
I have tried to install Toad for Oracle version 10.1.1.8 making no use of any Oracle Client,
but it displays an error "Oracle Client not found!"
Now, I have read this article Oracle Home is not Valid on TOAD
and it says

all you need is install Oracle 32 bit client, the toad will work.

Error installing ECC6.0 and CRM 7.0 AS Java on windows server 2008
Hi gurus,
I have started an installation for AS java of NW 2004s on windows server 2008.
I an facing the following error
An error occurred while processing option SAP CRM 7.0 Support Release 1 > SAP Application Server Java > Oracle > Central System > Central System( Last error reported by the step :Cannot load library C:\Users\ADMINI~1\AppData\Local\Temp\5\sapinst_exe.2692.1245373317/iamodsdm.dll: Last error = 126.).
I am facing a similar issue for my AS Java installations for CRM7.0
Seems to be a windows related issue but not sure.
Can some please help me out. i'm in middle of an implementation and all stuck.

Oracle 11g R2 to MS Access .mdb (Windows Server 2008 64-bit) problem
I have a need to make connection from Oracle 11g R2 to MS Access database file (mdb). OS is MS Windows Server 2008 64-bit. My configuration is next:
1. I made System DNS mikeacs (using c:\windows\sys_wow6\odbcad32.exe) to my access mdb file;
2. I made initmikeacs.ora file in ora_home\hs\admin folder:

6. I created db link: create public database link macs using 'MIKEACS' (connected as sysdba);
7. tnsping mikeacs:

Where is my problem? Please help. Thanks in advance!That's the problem. DG4ODBC on 64bit Windows is 64bit and thus it also requires a 64bit ODBC driver.
If you don't find one - maybe you can install DG4ODBC 32bi on a 32bit platform (please do NOT install it on the 64bit Windows machine) and then use this 32biit DG4ODBC with the 32bit ODBC driver.
Another option would be to purchase a commercial ODBC driver or a bridged ODBC driver. -
Installing Application Server 10g R2 on Windows Server 2008

It always prompt error "ORA-12560: TNS Adapter error", when I try to install Oracle Application Server Infrastructure 10g.

MKBHBasically use for internal web server only. I'm not sure can I use Oracle weblogic 11g instead of OracleAS 10g R2. I'll use some of the components like Oracle HTTP Server, Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE(OC4J), Reports Services, Forms Services, Metadata Repository for Oracle Application Server Middle-Tier and etc.

OCI8 IN WINDOWS SERVER 2008 x64
Good morning,
I'm trying to configure Oracle with php in Windows server 2008, but when I try to enable Oci8, the php log shows this error:
"Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library 'C:\Program Files (x86)\PHP\ext\php_oci8.dll' - %1 is not a valid Win32 application. in Unknown on line 0"
So that, the phpinfo doesn't show the enabled module. Doesn't Oci8 work with 64 bytes systems?

Thank you,I have a Windows 2008 x64 server, with 11gR2 (64 bits) and PHP installed. In my case ZendServer 5.0.3. What I did is I replaced, in the ZendServer bin directory, the light dll (oraociicus11.dll) with the full dll of the 32 bit Instant Client (oraociei11.dll). I had to do this because the softlink approach did not work for me, and neither putting an entry in PATH to the 32 bit Instant Client. Maybe ZendServer behaves differently from PHP in this respect.
My question is, I used to access the local DB (I need to access both a local DB and a remote one) without going through tnsnames.ora, e.g. like this ,
$c = oci_connect('USER', 'PASS');
this would connect me directly to the local DB. I cannot do this anymore, I have to give the local information as in $c = oci_connect('USER', 'PASS', '//localhost/SID');
I tried to set the ORACLE_SID env var but that did not help. Will I not be able anymore to connect locally without the connection string in oci_connect?

Active-Passive Failover cluster in Windows Server 2008 R2
Hi,
As per the client requirements, I build an active-passive Oracle 11g R2 database cluster in Windows Server 2008 R2.
(Used Microsoft cluster as Client don't have Fail Safe licence)
As per the configuration, I follow the below mentioned steps:
a)OS vendor configured Active-Passive Windows Cluster
b)Installed Oracle 11g R2 on both the nodes with same ORACLE_HOME name
c)Create Listener and configured it with cluster IP in Node1
d)Create Database from Node1. Physical files location are all in Storage
e)Create Oracle Service with the same name in the 2nd node and copy all the files like spfile,tnsnames.ora,listener.ora,password file to Node2
f)Configure Listener with the same Oracle SID.
g)Test database failover from Node2 with Listener registration
h)Open the Windows Failover Manager to configure the Oracle Database and Listener Service in the Cluster Group
Now I am facing problem by moving Cluster Group movement. Whenever trying to moving the group, Listerner service is not getting up by Cluster Manager as quorum is not included in the group and that quorum disk is not moving in the failover node with the Oracle Cluster Group. As per my understanding Quorum having information of Cluster IP which has been configured with Listener.
But when I am shutdown one node, then in the other node all the resources successfully moving and cluster able to online all the resources. I guess at that time Quorum is also moving and thus cluster can able to make Listener online.
Please suggest how to resolve this issue. Means how can I make Listener up instead having any dependencies with Quorum in the fail over node?

Hi everyone, i have an issue and i hope someone can help me. I have my hands on a windows server 2008 machine (hp g6 something) configured by don't know who. The issue is this, i simply can't use software to go online. Ie x86 don't load pages, remote assistance
don't work, googleupdate (to install chrome) don't go online. But, if i use ie x64 i can surf, download and even install apps. I can even ping everything i want.
There was an internet security called rising internet security 2010, i have removed and now there is only windows firewall. I have tried even disabling, creating rules but nothing changes...i don't know if there is some policy or something else messing around,
i searched but can't find anything...server is updated and clean. Any help? thanks :)
