VijayYou have to enter the settings for your external system into the tnsnames.ora on your BI system.
On the external system, you should check if tcp.invited_nodes is set. If so, add your BI system to it and reinitialize your listener.

Thanks for your reply, but your assumption is incorrect that I did not read the error message in the documentation. I read it many times, but could not correlate it with any wrongdoing.

The above says that, illegal set of protocol adapters was specified...., I am using 'Local Naming (tnsnames.ora)' connection method and using TCP/IP protocol.

Repetitive error in SMTP log: illegal address syntax
Hello I keep getting this error message in the SMTP log:
Dec 17 22:33:36 chucklepunt postfix/smtpd[2909]: connect from
unknown[10.0.0.12]
Dec 17 22:33:36 chucklepunt postfix/smtpd[2909]: warning: Illegal address

Dec 17 22:33:36 chucklepunt postfix/smtpd[2909]: disconnect from
unknown[10.0.0.12]
my mail server has this IP listed above, so it obviusoly looks like some kind of internet connection, but I don't know why it keeps happining, and I have 10.0.0.12 listed in the local hosts alias.
ThanksI thought my problem was solved once I added 10.0.0/24 to my relay and 10.0.0.12 to local hosts in the mail setup but I am getting the error again.
You say is it in my /etc/main.cf?
Should I have that config file, because I do not, at least not in that path.
suggestions please

to = to;
String from = new String();
from = from;
It doesn't appear that you've set the From address at all.

You need to add a credit card. Payments from bank accounts are not a few minutes as paypal use electronic and not wire transfers and that takes days. As said some companies prefer immediate payment so paypal has to send that via a credit card funded payment. **************************************** I give up my time to help you so a thank you or kudos would be cool.

Hi,
Im having real trouble with what seems a simple problem:
I need to pass an unknown number of parameters from the address bar to the embedded applet.
e.g.
http://127.0.0.1/myJSPPage.jsp?arg1=12&arg2=bob
using the jsp:plugin tag:
<jsp:plugin .........
<jsp:params>
<jsp:param name="arg1" value="12"/>
<jsp:param name="arg2" value="bob"/>
</jsp:param>
</jsp:plugin>Anytime i try and put some JSP code in between the params outer tag i get the folliowing Exception message:
Expected "param" with "name" and "value" attributes without the "params" tag.Has anyone tackled this sort of problem before ??
Thanks
Chris</jsp:param> replace with
</jsp:params> -
Address parameters in the signature definitions (4.1)
Is there any way to change the action triggered by the signature based upon the network/host source/destination address in all kinds of engines? In Atomic engine it is possible - for example triggering different levels of alarms, based upon the victim network address. What about the all other engines?
Question: Is there any way to change the action triggered by the signature based upon the network/host source/destination address in all kinds of engines?
Response: No. When the signature is defined the selected actions will take place regardless of the addresses (unless the alarm is filtered).
Question: In Atomic engine it is possible - for example triggering different levels of alarms, based upon the victim network address. What about the all other engines?
Answer: No In version 4.x the alarm is either triggered and the actions taken, or the alarm is filtered and no actions are taken.
SIDE NOTE:
Some of this changes in version 5.0.
You still won't be able to assign specific actions for a given address set. But combinations of some of the added features may come close to providing you the granularity you are asking for.
I would suggest posting this question again after 5.0 is released. Then I will be able to go into feature details and give you some hints and tricks to get close to what you are asking for. -
ORA-12535: TNS:operation timed out on other pc
After installing the XE edition on a server, I can connect fine on the server itsself. But when I try to connect from a client machine, I get ORA-12535: TNS:operation timed out.
My tnsnames on the client holds this string for the XE db:
MyDB.10gXE =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = MYSERVER)(PORT = 1521))
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVER = DEDICATED)
(SERVICE_NAME = XE)
any ideas???Rather than
MyDB.10gXE =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = MYSERVER)(PORT = 1521))
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVER = DEDICATED)
(SERVICE_NAME = XE)
why not go with the bulk standard tnsnames entry as follows:-
XE =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = MYSERVER)(PORT = 1521))
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVER = DEDICATED)
(SERVICE_NAME = XE)
I don't think the qualified MyDB.10gXE name is adding any value and may well confuse things.
Although setting it for my environment does work

ORA-12535: TNS:operation timed out on a win2000 Oracle instance
Hi,
i have a Oracle 8.1.5 instance on a WIN2000 PC.
I can connect me to this database with sqlplus
as long i stay on the PC (means i started the sqlplus
on the same machine).
When i try to connect from an other (unix-)system
i get after a while (ca. 90 sec.) the error:
ORA-12535: TNS:operation timed out
tnsping works fine (answer comes back in one second)
There are no firewalls or other "strange" things between
the database and the failing client (on an other PC,
also win2000, Oracle 8.1.5 everything works fine).
Below you see the log with debug of the listener.
I have also a trace on level SUPPORT but this is more
than 1000 lines for just 1 or 2 TNSPINGs and one SQLPLUS
connect. Due to this volume i decided not to attach it to
this initial mail.
Does any one have some advice or experiences ?
Please advice.
Best regards,

I don't think the qualified MyDB.10gXE name is adding any value and may well confuse things.

MTS problem nttbnd2addr: using host IP address: 0.0.0.0
Hi All. I am trying to put Oracle to multi-threaded server (MTS) mode. The Oracle is âOracle8 Enterprise Edition Release 8.0.6.2.0â running on Sun Solaris 2.6 (SunOS 5.8 Generic_108528-08 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-4). Connection by IPC protocol works, but when I try to connect by TCP I get âORA-12221: TNS:illegal ADDRESS parametersâ. If put parameter (SERVER= DEDICATED) into connection option in tnsnames.ora file connection is OK.

Looks like a bug to me. Culprit seems to be:
May be Oracle support can help. BTW, why still on Oracle8? Hasn't Oracle stopped supporting it? Have you tried Metalink?
</quote>
Actually, I also think that itâs bug. Everything works fine with Oracle 8.0.5 and 9i only this old Oracle has problem. Still 8.0.6 because nobody care this Oracle for several years, I just come and not reinstalled it yet.
I have not found such problem in metalink
