Oracle 03121 no driver installed cant connect to database!!

Hi ,
I am attempting to connect to my database on a standalone instalation of oracle through forms designer but receive the message ora-03121 whenever i attempt to connect message : "no interface driver connected". I have developer / designer in a seperate oracle home from my oracle 8 instalation . any ideas?

AHHHHHHH! Install cannot connect to database error!

I am so frustrated with application server install...
I'm trying to install SOA 10.1.3, advanced option, 1st option
When it asks me for database account, host name, service name I enter all this info in then i click next...
This is when I get the Install cannot connect to database error even though db i'm trying to connect to is on same machine!

Check the requirement chapter in the Installation Guide, but it should be similar to:
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
192.168.1.88 yourserver.domain.com yourserverHowever, I don't think you should change any of this after a installation...

Autoconfig cant connect to database.

i was trying to change the domain name of oracle application 11.5.10.2 , by making changes in both .xml files . but when i was nt success , i return to what i had changes as i had the backup of old .xml files. but now when i m running adautocfg.sh in both the tirs, it cant connect to the database .
ANY HELP ????

Cant connect to database please help newbie here

I am very new to oracle and have just installed oracle database 10g express beta. The problem is when I log into the homepage nothing happens. It just goes back to the log in screen again. I have tried using the wrong password and it gives me a error message. I have also gone through SQL and it says i'm connected.But I can't get the icons to come up after logging in. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Similar problems to yours have been reported on the forum.
The first seemed to be being caused by ZoneAlalrm - see Database home page will not load whilst ZoneAlarm Pro is running
The second seemed to occur if the user was connected to their corporate network via VPN - see Database Home page / VPN's

Cant connect my database using net service_name

I trying to connect my database using net service_name , but i am getting error.
I have tnsnames.ora entry and listener.ora entry.
Please help me to crack this error.

Client Browser cant connect to database control in 10G

Currently running database control on server which I can access through a browser on the server with the following URL
http://wgos405.nrplc.localnet:1158/em/console/logon/logon
The problem is that if i use my client broswer to connect to database control on the server with the following url
http://wgos405.nrplc.localnet:1158/em/console/logon/logon
I get page Not found, but if i amend the url to
http://wgos405:1158/em/console/logon/logon it works fine.
Nrplc is our domain name
Any help would be appreciated.

Pinging from the client works fine, as shown below, I can get round the problem using
http://wgos405:1158/em/console/logon/logon and i can access all pages.
Would have liked to know what was causing the problem as its works fine on the server

Oracle 9.i Driver issues when connecting a pool in WLS6.1

Ok. Ammendment to other message as I haven't gotten a solution yet. My problem is
I am using Oracle 9.i on a Sun UNIX box and using Weblogic 6.1 SP2 on another box.
Trying to connect a pool between the two of them.
Obviously, there has to be a way to do this but none of the documentation seems to
tell you how. I am used to doing MS SQL drivers on NT so I am a little new to this.
I would appreciate it if someone has a solution to this problem that will help me.

Oracle instant client 11g doesn`t connect to database 10g

hi,
i installed a oracle instant client 11g for windows xp on my pc, because i need a odbc connection.
I don`nt know this product. I don`t find a tns.ora file, so how can i give them the right parameter for my oracle database and how can i make a odbc connection.
Is it already the right client?

NicoleODBC sits on top of the Oracle client. (or any other native client of a given db product).
I don't think the ODBC drivers come with the instant client, though if you can locate a 3d party odbc driver for Oracle, that should work with the instant client.
Oracle ODBC drivers do come with the full client, but even there don't install by default - at least not up through 10g. In that case you have to select 'custom installation' (which can be done after a basic run-time installation) and select 'windows components'.

Data integrator cant connect to database

I'm trying to create new master repository in data integrator. When i type in database connection parameters (jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:repo) and i click test connection im getting message: "The Network Adapter could not establish the connection".
When i chage jdbc url to this: jdbc:oracle:oci8:@repo buttons: next, finish and test connections are dead, i can click them but nothing happens.
Database works, i cant log in to it by enterprise manager, i can connect to it by sql*plus. SQL Developer refuses to connect by 1st url, but connects by TNS. I cant use tns in DI and normal connection doesnt work. What i can do with this?

The Network Adapter could not establish the connection - This is a database issue .
In case its your local machine, check your listener and for more support ,either google as there are many sites or blog which can tell you exactly the steps to solve this issue.
You can also reach the database forum for support on this or other database related issue.

Cant connect to database VTAB-1000 error

I have installed OEM 2.2 on my Windows2000 laptop, and created
a 8.1.7 database locally for the repository.
I have created and connected to the repository OK, and discovered nodes.
When I try and connect to the (8.0.6) database, as SYSTEM (normal connection),
I get error :
VTADB-1000 : This application requires more database
privileges than you have currently granted to you.
Contact your DBA for more information.
I have granted the select_catalog_role (using the sc_role.sql script shown in
the on-line help), oem_monitor and sysdba to SYSTEM.
The database has remote_login_passwordfile = exclusive in the init.ora.
The intelligent agent on the server is running under Oracle 8.1.7.0.0, and has
discovered the database OK.

You mentioned the CI and DB are on seperate hosts. Could you try to ping the DB host from the CI host?
Also please check if the Default profile contains the SAPDBHOST name properly defined.
Further, in tcode STMS -> Overview -> Systems -> domain controlled <sid> -> transport tool. Check if the DBHOST and transdir are set correctly.

SQL Server 2000 Driver. No connection to Database

I'm using VisualAge 4.0 with JDK 1.2.2
This is the command:

Why do I get the error: Error open/loading com.microsoft.util.transliteration.properties if i don't write DatabaseName = Test in the url????

Your example is OK. You use "direct driver", so you don't need to change DSN. Check URL, database name, user_name....
But - default port for MSSQL is 1433, not 1020.

Transformed Oracle Des6i module doesn't make connection to database

I transformed an Oracle Designer6i module into a JHS application inside JDEV 10.1.2.1 using the JDG Wizard. I created the 2 connections, 1 to the repository and 1 to the database. The repository connection was good because it found the Des6i module to transform. However, there was no database connection.
If I create an application from scratch, not using the Des6i module, I can connect to the database.
Does anyone have some suggestions for what I might look for? I am VERY new with these tools. I have the Oracle JHeadstart 10g for ADF (Release 10.1.2.1) Developer's Guide for my teacher. Thank you.

Did you test the database connection in the Connection Navigator tab? Can you connect sussfully, and if you expand this connection node, do you see the correct tables?
If so, your ADF BC Application Module might not be configured properly to use this connection. To fix this, do the following:
- right mouse click on your application module and choose "Configuration"
- Click the Edit button
- Select the correct ConnectionName using the Connection Name drop down list.
- Click OK twice
- Right-mouse-click again on the application module and choose "Test..." A tester window occurs where you can double-click on a ViewObject to perform a query. If that works, your Jhs application should work too.

I'm trying to connect to a firebird database, I'm using eclipse, I've downloaded Jaybird, and I want to execute the example included. One of the lines of code is this:
d = new org.firebirdsql.jdbc.FBDriver ();
I don't know so much about this names of Java . What this line really means ?
I would like to known it means that: in the path org/firebird/jbdc there is a file name FBDriver.class.
In fact, I don't know what I have to do beacause this lines give me error.

Cant connect to database

I am moving a clients site over to a new host for them but
the database refuses to be called.

The new host uses Plesk as the admin panel. I set up the ODBC
and it is conneccted fien. However the original programmer of the
coldfusion code did a special direct set up. He told my client
everything including the database had to be in the same directory.
So as a result I have the ODBC database hooked up but I alsdo have
the original database in the https directory wit hall the
coldfusion files *** directed by the previous programmer. So since
I know the ODBC connection on the plesk panel is connecting fine I
know the error message I am getting is from the CF pages not
finding the database in the https directory. Confusing I know and I
hate working with someone elses work but I have no choice.
The other issue is we stilll beleieve that the SSL
certificate is not working so we sent for a reissue of it. We see
the lock on the bottom left corner with the check mark but that
isnt enough according to the host. So if the SSL certificatre isnt
working maybe it is blocking the path and connection to the
database.
Wish I could build this from scratch myself but that option
is out.

Oracle JDBC Thin Driver and Firewall Problem

Hi!
We have Oracle 8.1.5 and Websphere App Server. There is a
firewall between the two. A servlet creates a connection pool
(not that of Wesphere's). The frontend is JSP/HTML (no applets).
The servlet uses the Oracle JDBC Thin Driver for DB Connections.
The problem is - Once the connection is freed, the connection
pool is not being able to retrieve it and hence it created
another one, thus reaching the max. # of connections and the
system hangs. Restarting the DB service flushes the connection
and the application starts running again...
There was a similar problem discussed in this forums long ago. I
have not yet tried mentioning the firwall port and IP in the
connection string. But apart from that, is there any other
setting I need to do (on firewall or for the connectionstring)
to deal with this problem?
Someone had suggested to punch a hole in the firewall for the DB
port - but we can not really do that in the current scenario...
I would appreciate if anyone could share their experience
regarding how they resolved this issue.
