Oracle 10 g 10.2.1.0 Express Edition Installation on Windows 7 Ultimate

I am tried to Install Oracle 10 g 10.2.1.0 on Windows 7 Ultimate.The Installation was Completed without any error.
But i am restart my machine the oracle was not connect.
It shows following Error Message:
ora-010304 oracle not available
How i am Solve this problem?

restart my machineAre the services set to autostart?
Click Start/Run enter services.msc to bring up the services applet.
On the OracleServiceXE see if its set to Manual. If so and you do want the database to start after a reboot, right click/properties, select Automatic. Repeat for the OracleXETNSListener.
However, if you want to save time (and memory) when the machine reboots, leave it set to Manual. Start it up by going to the Services applet (see above ... ), left click the Listener service and hit the start button. And repeat for the database service.

I have downloaded 10g Express Edition and am trying to install. After clicking on the OracleXE.exe file, I get the following error:

I have verified that the path and file exists. What else should I do?

I am on my last attempt here if there are no other concrete solutions. Guess I will have to wait for 11g to make it to the Windows environment. Any other previous version of 10g that I can try????

Installation RDBMS Oracle11g Express Edition fails on Windows 7 64bits.

I want to install an Oracle11g Express Edition on a Windows 7 64bits.
I have clicked on 'setup.exe' and i have ran this module with the 'Administration Option'.
It's works well but when 'setup.exe' ends, the directory C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\oradata\XE is empty. It doesn't exit any files of the DB: controlfile, redo log, *.dbf, ....
On the file C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\cloneDBCreation.log, the error SP2-0640 exists. may be, it's the reason there are no DB file.
Can you help me on that topic. Thanks you your help.

Problem with Oracle 11g(32 bit) installation on windows 7 ultimate edition

Hello all,
I have a problem with Oracle 11g(32 bit) installation on windows 7 ultimate edition (32 bit).
I have successfully installed it immediately after OS installation. But today, i have decided to deinstall it and go for Oracle 10g version for 32 bit.
Everything went normal during installation, but i can see the services is not present in services.msc. Also its throwing some exception for dbca, netca
Now i tried to deinstall it and again go for 11g. But even the same story here..
Can anybody give me a solution for this..

SaqibNo need to install a fresh OS. That's like tearing your house down just because you wired a lamp wrong and blew a circuit breaker.
There are MeaLink notes on how to eradicate an Oracle install from Windows, but it boils down to this:
Stop all Oracle services
In the registery:
- Delete all oracle services from the register (HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet
- Delete the entire Oralce folder from HKLM\Software
reboot
Delete the ORACLE_HOME directory and any other Oracle related directories/files. Offhand, it seems like there is an Oracle directory under Program Files.

I have now tried at least 5 times. I downloaded the beta Windows version of Oracle 10g express edition. The download is successful each time but every time I try to run the installer, it says "Error in installation file". Anybody else facing this problem?

it is showing an error like this ,
the cabinet file 'Data1.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error.

I think you should probably download the file again, it might be corrupt.

Using Oracle Developer Suite 10g with the 10g Express Edition Database

I'm new to Oracle and I'm taking an SQL college level course using a text book entitled "Guide to Oracle 10g". Our text book came with Oracle Developer Suite 10g (9.0.4.0.1) but no database. We adopted the 10g Express Edition (XE) as the database. I have both the database and the Developer Suite loaded on Windows XP Pro. I've been using the database for months now and it runs fine and the Developer Suite installed OK.
However, I would like to use some of the Developer Suite apps (for learning purposes) with the database but I can't seem to log on to the database through the Developer apps when I open them and use my 10g XE database user-name and password. For starters, I would like to see if I could use the edition of SQLPlus (release 9.0.1.4.0) that comes with the Developer Suite because it has configuration options that are not available in the SQLPlus command line version that 10g XE contains (which otherwise works fine).
When I open SQLPlus (Developer Suite Version) and try to log on with my database user name and password (and no host string), I get the error:
ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
I did search the discussion forum first and also reviewed some Oracle pdf's including the concepts pdf but came up empty. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions on how to succeed or a determination of the compatibility of 10g XE with the Developer Suite. Thanks kindly.

I would like to know whether I can install Oracle Express Edition 11g Release 2 on Windows 8 - 64 bit . Please let me know this is for learning purpose only.

Currently, no Oracle software is certified to be installed on Windows 8. Certified OS versions for 11g XE are documented - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17781_01/index.htm
Installing on an unsupported OS may or may not succeed - if the instal succeeds, it is not a indication that the software will work as advertised - any issues you will have to troubleshoot on your own

Does this mean I am up and running? I selected from dual. I will continue to play with the DB.
If I download SQL Developer, should the version be for 32-bit or 64-bit for PC - Windows 7 - 64 - bit?

Oracle Database Express Edition - install on WIndows XP laptop

I downloaded the Oracle Database Express Edition to my Lenovo T61 laptop - Windows XP professional, execute the setup.exe and load the software fine. When I press the Finish button on the final dialog, the Oracle Database 11G Express Edition Install Wizard is highlighted in the task bar, as if it is awaiting a response from a prompt. The Oracle Database 11G Express Edition option appears in the Start|Programs with the following sub-options: Backup Database, Restore Database, Start Database, Stop Database, Get Help, Get Started, and Run SQL Command Line.
The Get Started option doesn't seen to do anything. This is the third time I've re-run the setup program, as i thought perhaps the Ad-Aware spyware program was blocking the Finish process.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, in advance, for your help.

Are you logged in with administrative privileges?

Could you check whether the Oracle Services the installer created are up and running? Taking you other comments on "Get Started" into account, I wouldn't think so.
In that case, you should start digging for errors in the log files created during your installation.

Is Oracle 10g Express Edition compatible with Windows 2000 advanced Server

I have installed Oracel 10g Express Edition on windows 2000 advanced Server, but it is not working properly, but when i installed it on Windows 2000 Professional, then it is working properly, Does anybody know why this is happening. If anybody know why this is happening, please tell me and also tell me how can i install Oracle10g xe in Windows 2000 advanced server.

There should be no issues. A few possible reasons you are running into problems:
- installation using a domain administrator (it works best using a local admin);
- firewalls or anti-virus software or other port blocking mechanisms;
- DHCP resets;
However, unless you tell us exactly the symptoms we are only guessing.

Connectivity issues with 11g Express Edition on 64bit Windows 7 Professional

Hello,
I uninstalled my 10g version of Express Edition, and proceeded to install the 11g version. I can connect with sqlplus, but when I try to open the DB web app (apex), I'm unable to.
The clsc.log file shows the following error:

2015-01-08 19:55:52.286: [ default][41100]ut_read_reg:2:ocr registry key SOFTWARE\Oracle\olr cannot be opened. error 2
[ CLSE][41100]clse_get_crs_home: Error retrieving OLR configuration [0] [Error opening olr registry key. The system cannot find the file specified.
I've uninstalled and re-installed twice with the same results. Anybody knows what's going on?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Are you installing the 64-bit version of XE ?
