Oracle 10g Apex 2.1 (demo) to Oracle 11g Enterprise full version

I am migrating from Oracle 10g Apex 2.1 (demo) to Oracle 11g Enterprise full version:
Does anyone know if this can be done: The platform is Linux Red Hat - HP Prolient DL380 G2 series:
The demo version Oracle 10g apex 2.1 which was utilizined has a proof of concept...has now been approved to move forward with Oracle 11g Enterprise full version
I was thinking: Do I export all the applications, tables, and data. Then un-install Oracle 10g and the install Oralce 11g. Then finaly, import the applications, tables, and data.
OR .... can in be migrated....????

Hello:
It is possible to upgrade your 10gR2 database to 11g and have APEX upgraded to 3.0 at the same time.

Here I am using Java Type IV for database
    connection.
So,there was no necessity of creating DNS.How your app communicates with db shouldn't matter for the end user. Still, you may want to use a functional network name also for the thin client driver connection string.
So,is there any other way to solve this problem. What is the problem really? Do you not use dns for network naming? Maybe you have to manage the hosts file on every client then.

  • Can I attend Oracle 10g DBA course & attempt DBA Certification for 11g

    Hi,
I am already OCP-PLSQL and want to attempt OCP-DBA stream. I enquired at various oracle education centers and came to know that all are conducting courses for Oracle-10g.
So can I attend Oracle 10g DBA course (Mandatory Course) and attempt DBA Certification for 11g. (1ZO-052 and 1ZO-053)
    Thanks,

    Thanks,
Vikrant PatilYou can do these thing, and Oracle will take your money for it, but you will receive neither 11g DBA OCP certication nor 10g DBA OCP Certification at the end of it. So it isnt what you would ant to do.
Oracle Unviersity would provide the 11g DBA training courses ... No problem.
however I suspect what you term oracle education centers are probaby institutes offering WDP Courses at 10g DBA (on the cheap). See http://workforce.oracle.com
If you do 10g training then that will only be valid for 10g DBA OCP Certification .. so you would need to take 1z0-042 and 1z0-043 (I guess you already have an SQL Exam pass). Then 1z0-050 can upgrade it to 11g DBA OCP.
(Note that it does not affect you, but the converse is typically true .... version X+1 training will often be acceptable for a version X certification.)

  • Does Oracle 10G XE collide with other installed Oracle products?

I have IDS 9i (Forms and Reports 9i) installed on my laptop for use with our remote database. Does Oracle 10G XE do anything with my Oracle home settings?
I have Windows XP SP1 on my laptop.
    Mike

If you have Instant Client (or something that bundles the Instant Client, such as ZendCore for Oracle), in your path on Windows, then you will get problems, such as
    1) The install spinning
    2) SQLPlus crashing when launched
The offending DLL is called oraociei10.dll
Check to see if you have this in your environment. Search will do this for you. If you do, check to make sure that the corresponding directory is not in your path. if it is, then the fix is to remove the offending directory from your path.

  • Install Oracle 10g on Linux RH with existing Oracle 9i

I have Oracle enterprise 9i running on a linux server.
Would i have any problem if I install Oracle10g for another db on the same server.
What are the issues I should consider in order to avoid damage of the existing 9i db
    Thanks,
    Odette

There is absolutely no problem if you have multiple oracle versions. Just beware of:
Inventory location. Backup the inventory, in case something goes completely wrong, this is a usefull mean to perform a clean deinstall. If other version corrupts the inventory you have a valid backup copy.
Oracle 10g installer is different from the 9i installer, use oui provided at install media, do not use already installed oui.
When starting services, oracle will try to use 1521 default listener port. It can listen to all instances, even if they are from previous releases, it is advised to use the 10g listener. I would reccomend you, however to use a different port, this way you can perform several tests without messing with current 9i configuration.

  • Is the interface of Oracle 10g XE is the same of Oracle 10g or 11g?

Are the interface, functions the same?
I am wondering after I practice performing DBA tasks using 10g XE.
How much do I know about the real Oracle?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
If you will perform the tasks by SqlPlus(the command line), it will be almost the same as 10g other edtions.
If you are saying by visual tools, XE is using a apex based administration tool for basic management, other edtions are using Enterpirse Manager Database Control or Grid Control, more powerful than XE's , and EM is not available for XE.
You also can download a version of any other Edtion of 10g or 11g, you can use it for study purpose, free of charge. but no offical support.
Or, you even can buy a personal edtion of 10g or 11g, and you can have support.

  • Upgrade OracleAS 10g 10.1.3 Home in Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12

    Hi All,
We are currently Upgrading from 12.0.6 to 12.1.1 on AIX 5.3 While performing the Pre-Upgrade Task of Upgrading 10.1.3.0 to 10.1.3.4.0 per document 454811.1. runInstaller fails with"*OPMN is failing to start. OPMN must be started in order to correctly install and configure the patchset. Please start OPMN manually in order to continue with the patchset install*."
We have also modified the OPMNCTL Script located in <1013_Oracle_home>/opmn/bin as mentioned in the Read ME of the Patch 8461753
for AIX Customers. Still The Error Persists.
Any CLues to resolve this? I have also a TAR with Oracle to resolve this.
Also I need to understand that do we have to follow the sequence of Pre-Upgrade Tasks as given in 752619.1 Since i am not able to move
forward with 10.1.3 Home Upgrade ..IS it oK if i go ahead with 10.1.2 and Java 6.0 Upgrade first and then complete 10.1.3 home upgrade?
    Thanks,Varun

  • Oracle COM Automation - Oracle 10g 10.2.0.1.0

    Hi,
I am trying to install the COM automation features available in Oracle 10g. But my installation of Oracle only contains the COM demo scripts. There is no comwrap.sql that installs the ORDCOM api. I looked through the products.xml file in my staging area and only found an entry for 'Oracle COM Automation Feature Demos'.
Anyone know what I am missing.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
I looked through the products.xml file in my staging area and only found an entry for 'Oracle COM Automation Feature Demos'. Did you check your ORACLE_HOME\com directory?
From the [Oracle® COM Automation Feature Developers Guide | http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/win.102/b14310/toc.htm]:
    PL/SQL Components
    * Oracle COM Automation PL/SQL feature (orawpcomVER.dll)
    * PL/SQL installation and definition script (comwrap.sql)
    * Oracle COM Automation demonstration programs
    * Message files (such as comus.msb)
Oracle COM Automation PL/SQL feature orawpcomVER.dll is located in the ORACLE_BASE\ORACLE_HOME\bin directory.
All other components are located in the ORACLE_BASE\ORACLE_HOME\com directory.

  • Help to create complex graphs in oracle 10g reports

As my company has migrated from 6i to Oracle 10g, but as graph ogd files are obselete in Oracle 10g , I am trying to create new graphs in Oracle 10g.
But problem I am facing that I cannot give axis value 'LABEL' or define my own scale or draw any lines on chart or inshort plot graph as I need. Moreover no way to read objects on Chart. In forms 6i it was easy to read object with command "OG_GET_OBJECT(OBJECT_NAME)". Helps tell me to use graph.dtd but I am unable to use it or I don't know how to use it. No documentation available anywhere how to use graph.dtd syntax.
Is it possible to achieve my above goals or any other tools to customize charts.

    Hello FormsEleven,
First of all very Thanks for reply. Thanks for your valuable time given to me.
I don't have any error in my java/jinit console infact latest jinit is running and web browser start with message applet are being loaded and Oracle forms service installed successfully. All other forms details are very well displayed on browser form, only bean area remains empty. Following are my formsweb.cfg details. Note on below [bigraph] section I have commented some lines but that also done after my form did not work.
