    Oracle AS10g = 10.1.2.0.2 I presume...
However, my first questions is still valid "The questions is if you followed EVERY step outlined in the Application Server Installation Guide? If you did, then there should be no errors."
I have had similar issues when environment variables was still set during installations, ORACLE_HOME etc. You must unset those, as described in the Installation Guide, before starting an installations.
Please check these two Metalink Notes:

  • Oracle 10g installation on Windows 7

I am currently using Oracle 10g on my laptop running on Windows Vista. Now i am planning to upgrade my OS to Windows 7. My question here, is can I use the same Oracle 10g installable to install in windows 7 also ??
    is it possible ??
    thanks,
    JJ

    Possible yes? Brilliant no!
Windows 7 is totally uncertified and unsupported with all Oracle products and if you have an issue there is essentially no support or patch available.
Personally I think Vista a cruel joke so my recommendation would be to go to XP SP3 which at least has the attribute of stability or move to Linux which is what I did on one of my laptops.

  • SUNWsprox package with solaris 10 for Oracle 10g Installation....

    Hi
I am in problem with a Solaris 10 package "SUNWsprox - Sun workshop Bundled 64-bit make library" for Oracle 10g Installation. I checked the CDs (In the /.../products) but did't found this packege. Can any one tell me please can I go without this package or where I found this package...Please Its very URGENT for me....
    Thanks
    Mohammed Tanvir

    Hi...
I had the same issue, but found out that the SUNWsprox was replaced by SUNWsprot. The OUI 10.1 Release 2 will 'pass' as the doco in the Oracle quick install guide is wrong (as well as 10g Application Server).
The only way to lay a 10g Release database on Solaris 10 is to lay the software doen only, then cd in the .../bin directory, step your Rdbms ORACLE_HOME, ORACLE_SID, LD_LIBRARY_PATH and of course the DISPLAY (is X-windowing into the server), and run dbca manually. Oracle 10g is a bit buggy.

    cp /etc/redhat-release /etc/redhat-release.backup
    cat > /etc/redhat-release << EOF
Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 3 (Taroon)

It works for me on RH9.0. Change redhat-release.backup to
redhat-release after you are done with your installation.

  • Oracle 10g Installation issue on Windows 7

    Hi,
I tried to install Oracle 10g downloaded from the below link on my laptop which runs in Windows 7.
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/10204-winx64-vista-win2k8-082253.html
The Oracle version is 10g release 2 for windows 7. I got this DB version no. for Windows 7 from this forum only. But still, I got the error message stated below and unable to install 10g.

Could you please let me know how I can fix this issue? Or is there any other oracle 10g release/patch to fix this issue? I need to install only Oracle 10g and not 11g.
Also, I need to install Oracle Forms 10g too.
It would be great if you could guide me on installing these two softwares in my laptop.
Your help will be very much appreciated.

    Welcome to the forums !
This issue has been discussed many times before. Pl use the search feature. The only versions supported in Win 7 (Professional or higher) are 10.2.0.5 and 11gR2. 10.2.0.5 is only available on My Oracle Support, while 11gR2 can be downloaded for free from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/downloads/index.html

  • Oracle 10g Installation Error on Windows 2008 server

    Hi Experts,
I have tried to install Oracle 10g via "51036975 ORACLE 10.2.0.4 Failsafe Server 3.4.1.5 Windows 2008" as per note no. Note 1303262 - Oracle on Windows Server 2008. Server is 64 bit server.
Oracle service is not getting started and showing as "starting" in services.msc. I cant stop the service. I have taken the restart of the server as well but no luck.
Just before the end of installation of Oracle, one pop up box named isqlplussvc opened up stating as "Failed to start the service, Error:0, the operation completed successfully".
Can you please suggest how to handle this error and start the service?
    Regards,
    Naresh.

    Hi All,
Yes, I started with Failsafe server CD only. After trying installing Oracle couple of times, once the service didnt went into starting mode & it couldnt start as well. Then I started going ahead with SAP installation and later I found that the service got automatically started.
I was under the impression that the service has to be started before going for SAP installation.
    Thanks all for your replies.
    Regards,
    Naresh.

Configuration assistant "Oracle Net Configuration Assistant" failed
The "E:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\cfgtoollogs/configToolFailedCommands" script contains all commands that failed, were skipped or were cancelled. This file may be used to run these configuration assistants outside of OUI. Note that you may have to update this script with passwords (if any) before executing the same.-------------------

    No Srini,
I opted to create a starter database as part of the installation.
The error occurs "during installation" while trying to do the database configurations.
(I did try once without installing and configuring the Loopback adapter (With and without plugging into the network).
Later I read some of the problems with DHCP and installed/configured the Loopback adapter.
Then tried Installing Oracle 11gR2 (With and without plugging into the network)
But end up getting stuck at the same Net Configuration Assistant failure).
    Any advise ?
By the way, thanks for the support.
    San.
