Oracle 10g sqlplus console closes automatically in Windows 7

Hi
I have installed Oracle10g(personal edition) in Windows 7. The installation finished successfully. Even the Oracle Enterprise database control site opens but after accepting license agreement I got java.lang.Exception: Exception in sending request::null.
I set the compatibility mode as Windows xp service pack 2.
Please help me in sorting out this problem.
Thanks
Prasanna

Is the download taken from following link?

Were there any errors during the installation phase?

How oracle 10g will gather stats automatically ? How to check whether which scheduler is capturing stats, interval ,last gathered status and also next interval?
it will take only system level stats ? also object level stats also ?

    Hi,
    Please read this,
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14211/stats.htm#i41282
It wont capture system stats.Only object level stats are gathered.Oracle recommends to gather the system stats manualy.

  • Need oracle 10g software to install on OS windows 7

    Hi,
Need oracle 10g software for install on OS windows 7.

You can download the file from
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/10203vista-087538.html
and install the same with ignoreSysprereqs option at command line.
However, for a certified combination, you need to download 10.2.0.5.0 patchset (patch 8202632) from Metalink and apply on top of this installation.

  • Oracle-10g RAC on VMware installed on Windows-7(Host)

    Hi,
My host OS is Windows-7. Docs. posted on this forum for RAC on VMware says: your Host OS should be Centos OS and in which you will install VMware and Client tools also. In this way u can clone another RAC2 machine.
But I have Oracle VM Virtual Box installed on Windows-7. Another is VMware Player installed on Windows-7.
I want to install Oracle-10g RAC on my Laptop. Please any suggestions or Docs. related to this.
    Shakeel

    Hi,
while this is a documentation of 11gR2 it gives enough information on how to setup a RAC in a VBox environment:

  • Installation of Oracle 10g und 9i Database on one Windows 2003 Srv System

    Hello,
I would like to install Oracle 9i and 10g database on the same server.
OS is Windows 2003 Server default.
I already read that i must do some adjustments (regarding ORACLE_HOME / SIDs ..)
anyone here who knows something about this ?
    Thank you
    Philip

    Yep.
Install 9i and when it asks for a port to install the listener pick something other than 1521. (1522 should work).
Then the Oracle 10g installation should go without a hitch.

once i entered the Credential not able to login , screen i disappears , but same software installed in Window XP successuly login
could you please provide me any septd need to do in window 7
    Thanks in Advance
    Regards

Since Windows 7 was released after the 10g releases, the Installation Guide does not include Windows 7. In this case, the Certification should be checked before proceeding.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/files/fusion_certification.html
From here, you will find that 10.1.2 is certified on Windows 7 only in some cases. For example, using iDS, it is certified on Windows 7 32 bit.
You only said Oracle 10g, so perhaps you are on an Oracle Database version. If so, this is not a Forum for the Oracle Database product.

  • Oracle 10g Express won't open after Windows Patches

    Hi all,
Yesterday I successfully installed Oracle 10g Express on a new Windows 2003 server with SP1. However today I can't open the Database Homepage - it is returning an error: "The page cannot be displayed" when I am trying to connect to http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex
The only thing I can see as having changed between last night and this morning was that when I shut down the server last night 50 Windows Patches were installed. I wasn't paying enough attention last night and by the time I realised what was going on I couldn't stop the installation of these patches.
So, does anyone know which Windows Patch may have caused this issue and if so is there a MS Patch Fix (surprise, surprise) or do I just uninstall that patch.
I really don't want to have to go through the pain of formatting the machine and starting again.
    Thanking you,
    GR

Check that none of the patches restarted/reset the firewall.

  • Oracle 10g Management Console - Client software

    Hi,
Could someone point me in the right direction? I just got a new PC at work and our desktop folk can't find the download for the Oracle 10g client. We run ORacle 10g EE on our Unix servers, and I have alwaya had the 10g Management Console on my PC but now I've lost it and I can't seem to find the correct install to download on the Oracle website. I've searched but I can't find it.

10gR2 client software can be downloaded from here - http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/downloads/index.html (scroll down)
I am not sure if they include the management console software.

    Hello,
You can make use of response file to install oracle software silent mode or non-interactive. You can find a reponse file under ../response/enterprise.rsp
You can find detailed information about using reponse file and how to install in non-interactive method

Library=c:\ora10g\bin\OraClient10.DllHi. The final one-time solution to this otherwise eternal risk, is
to stop using the oracle driver in the type-2 OCI mode. The reason
we all go to java is because native code sucks. It will kill a
whole JVM dead as you see. If you use the Oracle driver in the
thin mode, it is much more reliable. Please refer to the latest
Oracle driver docs. You can tell the thin driver to use the
tnsnames.ora file, so you retain that central DBMS config, but
you can get away from the Oracle native code bugs that have been
sporadically killing application servers since the mid 1990's.

I wanted to practise pl/sql in my office pc. I installed Oracle 10g XE on my machine and after that I also started Agent from Services. However When i clicked on Database home page it doesn't start. Changing network configuration might create problem in network. Can anybody help me working out this problem or has any alternative to practise PL/SQL with tiny oracle database.
