Oracle 10g2.0 installation issues - winzip issues
Hello All,
I am trying to intall oracle for the first time (10g2.0) and I downloaded the database file from OTN and the download went fine. But when I am trying to use the Winzip extractor its giving me error message saying "some data in your zip file is damaged. The CRC is 4e3e3884 but should be 5a02945c" (I get several of these messages for various CRC's). I am trying install oracle on Windows 2000 Professional edition and applied service pack1. I am using the trial version of the winzip "version 9.0 SR-1".
Any help is GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks for your time in answering this question :)
hmmm....I already did downloaded it more than twice with same result and the file size is same as mentioned by tomwa....I even tried to ignore the CRC errors and tried to install...it would go as far as 4% thru the installation and wouldnt do anythign from then onwards....I have downloaded this file from OTN site, I am confused??? the only other option i see is to order the CD's thru oracle store....
any suggestion on how to fix the issue....your input is greatly appreciated:)

Folks,
Hello. Initially, my Windows XP host name is "localhost" and IP address 127.0.0.1.
I installed Oracle Database 11g with Windows XP successfully and all Database clients work with Database instance correctly.
For some reasons, I uninstalled the entire Database Server and delete the entire installation directory /oracle.
I configured Windows XP IP address into 192.168.196.101 in order to ping other machines.
For my need, I installed Oracle Database 11g with Windows XP again. On step 7 of 8: Oracle Database Configuration Assistant, I got this error:
ORA-12560:TNS: protocol adapter error.
I click "Password Management" button, there are no rows in this Windows (no username, no lock accounts).
I check listener as below:
C:\>lsnrctl
LSNRCTL>start
Its output: listener name LISTENER has already been started.
LSNRCTL>status
Its output: ......Service DB1 has 1 instance. Instance DB1 status ready. The command completed successfully.
I check \Oracle\cfgtoollogs\dbca\DB1\trace file, the entry is :
listen[0]=LISTENER address=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=localhost)(port=1522))
I also check \oracle\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\NETWORK\ADMIN\SAMPLE\tnsnames.ora file and listener.ora file, the entries are the same as below
HOST=localhost port=1522
I think HOST=localhost and port=1522 is the cause of the error ORA-12560 because Windows XP has been configured into HOST=192.168.196.101.
But I don't understand how to solve this issue.
Can any folk tell me how to solve this issue ? need to cancel the installation on step 7 of 8 and install it again ?
Thanks.Folks,
Hello. Oracle Database 11g Installation Wizard is on step 7 of 8. I don't cancel the Wizard. I am not sure whether there is effect or not. listener.ora is not removed. I have been waiting for a while after stop listener. I run the 3 commands again and copy the result as below:

Oracle PIM Sync installation issues
We have experienced the PIM Sync installation issue where the client couldn't detect Outlook. We have several work stations downloaded the file and only one station has installed it successfully. We even tried to use the file that worked on that station to install into the ones that didn't work. However, we got no luck. Some of us had "Cannot Connect to Oultook" and some of us had error code - 0x083200006. Does someone have the same issue? We submitted a SR to Oracle Customer Care but haven't heard anything from them yet. We are hoping this got resloved as soon as possible. thanks!
In reference to you PIM Sync issue you did the took the correct action by contacting CRM On Demand customer care and submitting a SR.

Oracle Client 11gR2 installation issue on RHEL v5.4 64-bit
Hi,
I am trying to install Oracle Client software 11gR2 on RHEL v5.4 64-bit. I have resolved all the libraries dependency as well as Kernel changes as suggested by the installer. The error in the log file is as attached. At present I have "skipped" this error and proceeded with installation.
While installing the client, the installer fails while configuring the Net CA with error:

Thanks & regards,
VinayHi,
Thet NetCA error occurs during installation and I believe the installer should take care of the ORACLE_HOME variable setting.
But before invoking sqlplus I have set the ORACLE_HOME and LD_LIBRARY_PATH setting in the .bash_profile as mentioned in the installation guide. The snippet of the profile file is:
export ORACLE_HOME=~/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/client_1
export JAVA_HOME=$ORACLE_HOME/jdk
export PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/bin:$JAVA_HOME/bin:$PATH;
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$ORACLE_HOME:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
export TNS_ADMIN=$ORACLE_HOME/network/admin
export TWO_TASK=mmcoedb
I am able to tnsping to the server/service name too but when I try to login using the user/password using sqlplus, it simply exits without any error.
Please let me know how to resolve the error.
Best regards,

I am facing issue in HP UX 11.3 server when installaing 11G R2 database .It is not activating Keyboard as a result i could not edit in the option box /not able to enter db name/enter password and so on in Graphcal mode for installation.
Could you please let me know what could be the issue.

RockyHi,
Problem could be with your GUI on HP UNIX. Are you using X Manager or what for having the GUI? You might need to check HP UNIX side instead of oracle side to have GUI work ok for you

Oracle Content Management installation issue--apr_bucket_type_pipe
Hi all,
i have intalled Content Server according to the installation guide
Content Server Port :5000
Admin Server Port:5001
Web Server Root :idc
Web Server:Apache
then enter the following entries in httpd.conf file
LoadModule IdcApacheAuth /app/ucm/server/shared/os/linux/lib/IdcApache2Auth.so
IdcUserDB Stellent "app/ucm/server/data/users/userdb.txt"
<Location /idc>
Order allow,deny
Allow from all
DirectoryIndex portal.htm
IdcSecurity idc
<Location>
Then i restart my IAS (./opmnctl startall) and system prompts my that undefined symbol :apr_bucket_type_pipe .
My IAS version is 10.1.3.1.0 .
Do you have any idea ?
Thanks,
DennisHi
The last <Location> tag should be </Location>.
The correct config entry in your case would be :
LoadModule IdcApacheAuth /app/ucm/server/shared/os/linux/lib/IdcApache2Auth.so
IdcUserDB idc "app/ucm/server/data/users/userdb.txt"
Alias /idc "/app/ucm/server/weblayout"
<Location /idc>
Order allow,deny
Allow from all
DirectoryIndex portal.htm
IdcSecurity idc
</Location>
Make these change , restart the webserver and then test to see if the issue persists.
Also the apache webserver is 2.0 as per your LoadModule entry. If it is 2.2 then that entry should be LoadModule IdcApacheAuth D:/oracle/ucm/ots/shared/os/win32/lib/IdcApache22Auth.dll
Thanks

Oracle EBSR12.1 installation issues - help me out to solve the issue ?
Folks,
we are facing issues in installing oracle EBS R12.1 in windows vista. downloaded from edelivery store and copied into hard disk. staging was not done , directly we started the rapidwiz.cmd.
after completion of 33% of rapidwiz installation throws jre/NT/1.5.0/bin not found. but 1.6.0 is only found in jre/NT/ .
last 3 lines of error message
Starting from CD area C:\oracleR12.1\B53824-01_3of4\startCD\Disk1
RW-50010: Error: - script has returned an error: 2
Returning - 0
Thanks in advance,
Nithyathanks hussien
i tried the other way around too.
i copied the contents of the 1st disk (start here dvd) to my hdd @ c:\oracle\disk1
from there i ran the rapidwiz like:
c:\oracle\disk1\disk1\rapidwiz\rapidwiz.cmd
no matter what, it gets stuck @ 33% with the same error "windows cannot find .\jre\NT\1.5.0\bin\java...."
i notice that in the contents of the dvd, i dont have 1.5.0 in the specified (jre\NT\1.5.0\) location.
then i copied the contents of the 1st dvd again to my hdd & renamed the 1.6.0 folder to 1.5.0
opened the rapidwiz.cmd file & altered the path from NT\1.6.0 to NT\1.5.0
& executed the rapidwiz.
this time it reached 33%, paused for a while & immediately touched 100%. nothing after that.
since its the first install of apps for me, pls guide me on how to prepare the stage area.
also, this time i executed the rapidwiz as an administrator; to ensure that im not having permission issues.
i have all the pre-requisites installed correctly.
thanks for your time. appreciate it. -

I have a new laptop with Windows 8. I am trying to setup the Oracle environment using Oracle Virtual Box. I have downloaded the part numbers V33411-01 (boot) and V33412-01 (Linux). The boot CD boots the server without issues and after few installation steps it prompts for Linux CD. When I insert the same, I get the error “The oracle linux server disc was not found in any of your cd rom drives.”
When I try to do a media check for the second CD, I get the error “unable to find the checksum in the image. This probably means the disc was created without adding the checksum.”
I tried to install using the second CD directly but it fails as the CD is not bootable. Can you please help me in fixing this issue?
Regards,
AntonyI don't know exactly what you're trying to do.... but all the installation media for OEL are bootable. I don't why you would have just a "boot" media that would require you to load a second disk... Unless you are using the CD installation and not the DVD iso. Why not just download the DVD iso?

Oracle Rac 11GR2 installation issues;
Hi fellows. I wonder if you could help me with an issue:
I have this Oracle RAC with 2 nodes, using OS Oracle Linux 6.3 with architecture x86_64.
The installation was doing ok, but on "Prerequisite Checks" i had a problem:
"Device Checks for ASM"
Device Checks for ASM - This is a pre-check to verify if the specified devices meet the requirements for configuration through the Oracle Universal Storage Manager Configuration Assistant. Error:
"/dev/oracleasm/disks/OCR1" is not shared - Cause: Cause Of Problem Not Available - Action: User Action Not Available
Check Failed on Nodes: [cmsora02, cmsora01]
Verification result of failed node: cmsora02
Details:
PRVF-5149 : WARNING: Storage "/dev/oracleasm/disks/OCR1" is not shared on all nodes - Cause: - Action:
Verification result of failed node: cmsora01
Details:
PRVF-5149 : WARNING: Storage "/dev/oracleasm/disks/OCR1" is not shared on all nodes - Cause: - Action:
But, the thing is: They are Shareable.
I will prove to you:
[root@cmsora01:/root]$ oracleasm listdisks
DAT1
FRA1
OCR1
OCR2
OCR3
OCR4
OCR5
REDA1
REDB1
And
[root@cmsora02:/root]$ oracleasm listdisks
DAT1
FRA1
OCR1
OCR2
OCR3
OCR4
OCR5
REDA1
REDB1
I don't know if this proves a thing, but the disks are readable for both nodes.
Anyone has passed for this situation before ?
Any hint would be helpful.
Thanks in Advance.

Oracle VM Server Installation Issues
The Oracle VM Server 2.2.1 installation hangs after I pick US keyboard and does nothing after. I’ve tried other options including an old version of VM Server and I receive an error that states "isw: untested metadata version 1.2.04 found on /dev/sda", although the installation hangs in the same place. I’m not sure what the issue is and need some help.
Also, just as a test, I installed Oracle Enterprise Linux R5-U5-Server on the hardware without any issues. I see everything, and it is a nice OS.
Hardware details:
I had Fry’s build a U4 server.
Six 300 GB 10k rpm SATA on a raid 5 stripe
Two 1.8 TB 7200 rpm SATA on a raid 0 mirror
Motherboard GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R
24GB of DDR3 memory
Intel Core i7-980X 3.33 GHX 12MB 6Core processor 64Bit
Thanks for any help!!

[email protected]In order to get your HDs detected you will need to create a driver disk. Check this link out so you can create one.
http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/linux/RHL-8.0-Manual/install-guide/ch-driverdisk.html
What the driver disk will do is load the driver disk image you need, and once you do that it should auto detect your drives.
This should at least get you headed in the right direction :)
Of course steps before creating the driver disk you will need to find out what driver you require and get a driver disk image of that driver to load to your bootable floppy/usb. In the example page they use a floppy, but any bootable media will work.
Good luck,

Hi all,
I have tried installing Oracle 9i Lite on Win Server 2000 and also on Windows XP. Installation seems to get stuck while it's installing Mobile Server Repository. Can anybody guide me please and let me know what I am doing wrong other then following oracle installation notes. :)
Thanks
TahirOracle9i Lite 5.0 is certified for EPOC V5. Nokia 9210 is based on EPOC V6/Quarz which is not supported. We have a working port in alpha quality which we might be able to give you. However we would need a strong business case. Send your business case and justification to [email protected]
