Oracle 10XE home page error
Hi , I have installed Oracle 10XE in my vista OS. But after the successful installation it is giving me "page cannot displayed" error when I try to open its home page.Browser can not find the page at http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex .Even I changed the IP address with that of my machine also ,but could not help.
I ran some commands to check my machine, hopefully they would help in solving this problem.
SQL> select dbms_xdb.gethttpport() from dual; gives me port as 8080;

Newbie can't go to Oracle XE Home Page today (but accessed it yesterday)
Hi there,
Yesterday I installed Oracle XE 10g on my PC. I could see the home page and then log into the system.
Today I can't see the homepage anymore:
Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage
Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.
What you can try:
Diagnose Connection Problems
More information
This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:
Internet connectivity has been lost.
The website is temporarily unavailable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain.
If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click Tools, click Internet Options, click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled under the security section.
For offline users
You can still view subscribed feeds and some recently viewed webpages.
To view subscribed feeds
Click the Favorites Center button , click Feeds, and then click the feed you want to view.
To view recently visited webpages (might not work on all pages)
Click Tools , and then click Work Offline.
Click the Favorites Center button , click History, and then click the page you want to view.
I'm using:
- Windows XP SP2
- IE 7
- The homepage address is http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex
- THe oracle services that I've identified in my PC are
OracleJobSchedulerXE (Disabled)
OracleMTSRecoveryService (MAnual)
OracleServiceXE (Started / Automatic)
OracleXEClrAgent (Manual)
OracleXETNSListener (Started / Automatic)
I don't have any problems in accessing the internet. Just the Oracle XE pages. I would appreciate if someone gives me some clues of where to investigate and understand what's going on. Any link to a helpful doc is very appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
MiguelBilly, I followed your instructions to the best of my abilities the result is below. I continue not to access Oracle XE Home Page.

Portal home page error after install
Hi,
I recently installed 9ias on solaris succesfully into its own oracle home(db cache failed but not worried yet). portal install went ok, but i can only access the admin gateway and not the portal home page. I get 500-Internal server error. Tried checking jserv config - looks ok, I can run 'IsItWorking' servlet ok but still get error - has anyone else seen this - any clues?
thanks.....<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Jasen Jacobsen ([email protected]):
I just went through the same problem with a Win 2k install. The 500 error turned out to be a problem with my DNS and proxy setup. If I understand things correctly, when you hit the portal page (http://<hostname>/pls/portal30/ you are redirected to the real portal application. My machine is not registered with the corporate DNS so even though I could hit the admin pages, and the Apache test pages, when I was redirected to the Portal pages a DNS lookup was attempted and things choked.
I've fixed the problem, for now, by telling my browser to ignore the proxy server for my portal machine's name. But now I can only hit the portal from the machine it's installed on. The long-term solution is to get the DNS issue resolved.
Hope this helps.

Jasen,
Please check out the Standalone Laptop configuration option discussed in the Oracle9iASPortal Configuration options white paper. I believe it will help you resolve your hostname issues. The direct link to the white paper on OTN is http://technet.oracle.com/doc.pdf/iportal/config_options.pdf

What has happened. My Internet connection still works (I'm here). Nothing else was changed that I can tell.
Please Help. Thanks.I believe I solved the problem - although I don't know how it happened.
I went to Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Component Services and noted that the Oracle XE components:
OracleJobSchedulerXE
OracleMTSREcoveryService
OracleServiceXE
OracleXEClrAgent
CracleXETNSListener
were all running (except OracleJobSchedulerXE which doesnt offer a restart option).
I stopped the OracleServiceXE and restarted it. I also started the MTSRecovery Service, ClrAgen and TNSListener.
That seems to have solved the problem.
Any idea how the service got turned off? -
Cant access Oracle XE Home page
I am a new user trying to learn oracle and, having downloaded XE, find I cannot access the Homepage. Help please!
Make sure to start the database, using the program links provided during installation. Then use the link that says: "Go to Database Home Page"
Earl
Oh, BTW, there is an Oracle XE specific forum you'll probably want to look into. You'll find a registration link was placed in your program links when you did your XE installation.

Hi All,
I have installed Oracle BAM 10.1.3.0 with Oracle DB 10.2.0.2.0 on widows 200 server SP2 machine. The BAm services are starting properly, but I'm getting the following error in the first page:
An Error Ocured while processing your request:
Exception Message: ADC Server exception in GetUserGroups():2.
Stack Trace : .....
Debugging Information: ....
Assembly: Start Page
State: Oracle.BAM.StartPage.Startup
Event: Initialize
Can anybody please help me out...
Thanks a lot in advance.

I guess -it- is not advisible to directly modify or alter any bam tables, it may land you into unrecoverable errors. Alternnate is to use the MakeBAMAdmin SQL utility on the OTN pages. Coert- can you try using http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/integration/bam/10.1.3/htdocs/1013_support.html

Hi,
I am using HTMLDB Version 2.
I have tried to follow the steps in some previous posts regarding changing the home from Page 1 to Page 2
1- I changed the Home Link = f?p=&APP_ID.:2:&SESSION.
2- I changed the Login process(Page 101) = P_FLOW_PAGE => :APP_ID||':2'
3- I changed the logout url, this is a custom procedure to log users schema.logging_user_logout?p_user=&APP_USER.&p_app=&APP_ID.&p_session=&APP_SESSION.&p_this_flow=&APP_ID.&p_next_flow_page_sess=&APP_ID.:2
It works fine if I run it in the Builder but not outside the Builder. Error ERR-1016 Application "1001" Page "1" not found (requested language="en-us")
Can somebody please provide me with some feedback?
Thanks
VCProblem resolved.

We are using Oracle apps 11.5.10.2, we want to put Company's picture in the front page of Oracle apps, please suggest
RegardsI followed the above steps and even tried the Metalink Doc and did the following to steps, but still i am not getting the image anywhere. note we are using 11.5.10.2
1. Change the FNDSSCORP.gif file.
A. Make a backup copy of the FNDSSCORP.gif file. Name it FNDSSCORP.bak
B. Make the name of the custom logo FNDSSCORP.gif
C. Upload the new FNDSSCORP.gif file to the $OA_MEDIA directory
D. Log out and log back into the application
2. Leave the FNDSSCORP.gif file alone and upload a new image (test.jpg, for example) $OA_MEDIA directory.
A. Log into (N) System Administrator > Profile > System
B. Query the "Corporate Branding Image for Oracle Applications" profile
C. Type "test.jpg" (following our example image) under the Site column
D. Save
E. Log out and log back into the application -

Can any one help me to achieve this?I did some investigation on this a while back. Unfortunately those links are user specific. There is no way, using Oracle's functionality, to add a link that is 'global' across a user base. I'm not sure if there is an Oracle API for this but the entries are stored in the ICX_CUSTOM_MENU_ENTRIES table. The only realistic solution I could come up with was scripting the addition of the default links for all your users. You'd also have to develop a job to keep those in sync as well.
Hope this helps! -
