Oracle 11g OCP certification kit

I have completed Oracle 11g OCP. As I understand a hands-on training course is manadatory to get the certification kit.
Can I do a Self-Study CD course or do I have to do Instructor led course?
Thanks.

information about that cert is here:

note the link which says "Complete one of the approved instructor-led online or in-class courses."

    Hi,
I'm an OCA Oracle 9i PL/SQL and OCP Oracle 9i DBA. I wish to earn Oracle 11g OCP in PL/SQL now. Can anyone update me on how can I do that directly (bypassing exams for 10g).
On http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=155 I found following information which show I needs to pass only Oracle 11g Advanced PL/SQL 1Z0-146 to become OCP 11g PL/SQL as I'm already an OCA PL/SQL.
    Am I correct?

  • Oracle 11g OCA certification

I am newbie .I would like to know a good book for Oracle 11g OCA certification ,1Z0-051 and 1Z0-052(with lesser number of mistakes).Appreciate a response.

I can tell you from personal experience that it is extraordinarily difficult to write a technical book with zero defects. Spell-checkers and grammar checkers produce huge numbers of false positives when looking for standard (i.e. non technical) errors. Technical errors are easy to introduce -- forget to add a 'Not' in a sentence, or something similar -- and hard to detect afterward. When I read through my study guides looking for errors, I tend to see what I meant to write.
That said, such defects are normally a tiny fraction of the information contained within certification manuals. A couple of reviews on the Oracle Press 1Z0-052 book written by John Watson mention a couple of errors and then imply the book is filled with more. I've read the book and it is very informative. It contains hundreds of pieces of information and contains about ten errors -- all mentioned in the errata on the McGraw Hill site. The books is good preparation for the text and for learning the basics of being an Oracle DBA.
As Aman indicated, using more than one source is a good way to help to detect inaccuracies. I believe in always using multiple sources and the documentation is generally a good option for that.

  • Oracle 11g Client Certification Matrix

    hi all,
Can someone point me to Oracle 11g client certification matrix? I was trying to install it on Windows Server 2008R2, but looks like this platform is unsupported. If I manually verify the options the installer thinks are unsafe, will I create an unsupported environment?
    Please advise.

  • Oracle 11g database certification

    Hi to all,
I am an Oracle database 10g OCA certified. I got my certification in 2008; Sadly, I was really busy with many projects during the last 2 years so No time to pass my OCP 10g database exam.
My question is ; is it better (in time, and money):
1- pass and upgrade my OCA 10g to OCA 11G and then pass my OCP 11G?
2- pass my OCP 10G database exam and then do the upgrade exam of OCP 11G?
    Thanks a lot,

    A few points:
    1) There is a Certification forum that discusses exactly these questions;
    2) There is no 'OCA Upgrade' exam, so the 11g OCA is a complete exam from scratch;
    3) OCP 10g + OCP 11g(ug) is 2 exams, OCA 11g + OCP 11g is 2 exams so same price;
    4) OCP 10g + OCP 11g(ug) is 2 'pro' certs, OCA 11g + OCP 11g is 1 'pro' cert.
However, the upgrade exam does stretch you into areas not normally seen by OCPs in practise. You end up being a guru, of sorts.

  • OCA and OCP Certification kit not yet received

    Hi,
I had cleared my OCA in Dec,2012 and when followed up with Oracle Support then they told that my success kit was shipped on 21-Dec-2012 and I would receive it by the first week of Feb,2013,which never happened.I have raised so many SR's in this regard and each time they replied that I had to change my address on PearsonVue to get 2nd shipment done as the new address has to be different from the first.
In Feb,2013  I cleared my OCP and the shipment in Certview for it shows first shipment as 10-FEB-13.
I have received neither of my certification kits till date and I am very much frustrated by this service of Oracle as it should at least provide a tracking no so that people can track their kit from time to time. Each time I follow up with the support they give excuse to change the address and all and till now they haven't initiated a 2nd shipment for any of my certificates.I have taken other certifications too like ITIL and got the certificate within 15days their service was hassle free. But Oracle is worst than what people used to say in terms of shipment of certification.I don't have any hope now as almost 1 year is going to pass and I haven't received my 1st certificate also.
Here I have mentioned all the SR's raised by me along with their respective dates,in this regard. If you have time from your busy schedule then please have a look at them.I would appreciate your consideration.

    Vini,
I will pass this request along to the team lead for support. Unfortunately, there are some regions in which we have an immense amount of difficulty getting the certificates delivered. This is more extreme than most cases I see. I am not sure what the issue is, but I will try to help you get it sorted out. I'm sure this has been frustrating for you.

  • Oracle 11g OCP 1Z0-050

    Hi Guys
Any idea why that test is so hard?
It will be the third time i will try to get pass that exam, i feel it simply too difficult.
Any methods or idea to get it done? *dumps are excluded and banned in my world!!!!!!
Oracle 11g is quite complicated and in general Oracle gains a lot in complexity....
    Please share your methods here....

    Hi,
I managed to pass this test at the first attempt.
I prepared using the book "OCP Oracle Database 11g: New Features for Administrators Exam Guide (Exam 1Z0-050)" by Sam Alapati.
This book was full with errors. I'm quite sure I would have failed the test miserably if I only prepared using this book.
Fortunately I noticed that there's a lot of conflicting information in this book. There are also errors in the tests (wrong answers).
So I ended up spending a lot of time double checking all information in the online documentation.
If you're using this book, I would strongly advise you to read it very sceptical and only as a guide to create your own notes.
Also, if any books are out by e.g. Sybex, have a look at these instead. They can never be as worse as the one by S. Alapati ;-)
And remember to practice all topics.
I also found the upgrade exam to be more difficult than the 10g OCA/OCP exams.
So in short, my preparation was:
    1) Read all information in the exam cram book sceptically, verify in the online documentation and create my own notes. => this took a lot of time, but provided a global knowledge of all topics
    2) Test each topic and verify my notes are correct.
    3) Study own notes. => detailed knowledge of topics
    4) Only take the tests at the end of each chapter when I studied everything thoroughly. => verify knowledge
    5) Check if errors were due to misunderstanding some topics + corect notes, or just wrong answers in the book...
    6) Keep track of topics with poor understanding, create notes for these, and study these extra.
Success with the next attempt. If you pass it, you'll be proud you didn't use brain dumps.
    Greetz,
    David

  • Mandatory prereq training for 11g OCP !!

    Hi
I cleared 1Z0-051 and 1Z0-052 and have attended '10g Admin I' training few years back but this training does not list in 'approved courses' list of prerequisite for 11g OCP certification. Is there any workaround to avoid spending money on mandatory prereq course (which is of no use as I am working on 11g for past 3 years) and make use of '10g Admin I' training as prereq ?
    Please advise.

AmarI suggest to To Avoid spending any BIG money.
    (1) Submit your '10g Admin 1' course as a 10g DBA pre-req exam and ensure it has been recognised for 10g DBA OCP
    (2) Pass 1z0-042 and 1z0-043 for 10g DBA OCP
    (3) Pass either 1z0-050 or 1z0-053 for 11g DBA OCP (1z0-053 is relevant for you as you have a 1z0-052 pass)
Difference is 3 exams (+ retakes) + time versus 1 exam (+ retakes) + more training (3 days courses cheapest) + time.
NB: 10g courses will not be accepted for 11g certifications (the reverse will however often be true)

The course I did to gain OCP certification in Oracle Database 11g does not appear on the courses submission list on the website of pearson vue, I sent an email to [email protected] from < email address deleted by moderator >, without an answer in 7 days since 01/28/2015, the email is below, the title of my course is in Portuguese.  What should I do in this case ?
    Dear Oracle.
I am sending this email because recently I passed in the exam 1Z0-053 Oracle Database 11g: Administration II, which is the last examination necessary to acquire the OCP Certification. However, in the path to the certification I need to prove that I participated in an Oracle Official Training.
Searching for the course on the pearson vue site, I have not found the course name on the list. So I am sending this email with the course information required for certification. I attended to the course in college FIAP (http://www.fiap.com.br/en/conheca-a-fiap/parcerias-estrategicas/), in the city of São Paulo, Brazil, from March/2010 to March/2011. Accessing the link above is possible to verify that the educational institution is an Oracle Partner. The title that I got was "Graduate in Oracle Database Management".
In this email I attached a copy of the FIAP Certified Course (front.jpg certificate, certificate back.jpg). I’m also sending the data from my profile in the pearson vue site (Pearson VUE - My profile.pdf), and my scores in the exams for OCP certification (1Z0-051.pdf, 1Z0-052.pdf, 1Z0-053.pdf ).
If you need any further information just let me know and I will provide.
Please acknowledge this information and grant me the OCP certification (Oracle Database 11g Administrator Certified Professional).

When I access http://www.pearsonvue.com/oracle/course/ and start submission process  of the course, in the first step “Select the track for which you have completed a certification requirement” I selected the option “Oracle Database 11g Administrator OCP”, in the second step I selected “ILT = Instructor Led Training”,  but when I got on the third step “Which course or requirement did you complete?”  I have to choose the course name that I did, the course name that I did does not appears in that list, so I do not know which one to select, even having at the end of the form the option “Other ...(Course or requirement is not shown above. Please enter title below.)” the course name I did is in Portuguese/Brazil, the name is “MBA em gestão de banco de dados oracle” in Portuguese, which in English would look like "Graduate in Oracle Database Management".
I sent an email to [email protected] containing the information that I found necessary to obtain certification.
But if I have to do the process in the pearson vue site, should I put the course name in Portuguese or in English ?
Only the email I sent is not enough ?
Thanks for the help, and sorry for my english !

  • Should I go for Oracle 10g OCA/OCP or 11g OCA/OCP Certification?

    Hi all,
I am lil bit confuse to decide about my oracle core dba certification.
Please help me to know, as per the present requirements of the business organizations.
    ***Should I go for Oracle 10g OCA/OCP or 11g OCA/OCP Certification?***
Hope u guys answer me earliest.
    Thanks & Regards,

Most likely, it doesn't matter too much. I doubt that most employers are terribly concerned with what recent version of Oracle you have a certification on.
    That said, if it matters
    - What does your organization use? What are their plans to upgrade? If your company still uses 9.2 primarily and has plans to upgrade to 10.2 this year, you're probably better off with a 10g certification. If your company is already running mostly 11.2, you're probably better off with an 11g certification.
    - What do most employers in your particular part of the world tend to use? What do job postings in your particular part of the world generally list?

  • How to get Oracle 11g OCA, OCM, OCP certification?

    Hi,
This is my first post! Please pardon my ignorance. I want to get Oracle 11g OCA, OCM, OCP certifications done. How do I go about it? How much does it cost to get these certifications? Could you please suggest a website/url where I can get more information about it.
    Thank you,
    Tracy

The Oracle Certification Program site should answer your questions.
Assuming you are trying to get certified on the DBA track (there are many different certification tracks, I'm assuming when you say 11g that you mean to indicate that you're interested in the DBA track), you can see the progression of the exams and the options you have on this page.

  • Oracle 11g , Administrator OCM certification

    Hi,
I have completed OCP certification in the developers track by clearing in the following exams : 1Z0-007 , 1Z0-147 and 1Z0-146.
I wish to become an OCM in DBA track for Oracle 11g.
Going by the steps mentioned in the Oracle certification website, I saw that the path to become an OCM would be as :
    1> OCA : Clearing 1Z0-007 / 1Z0-051 and 1Z0-052 exams.
2> OCP : Clearing a certified hands on course followed by clearing 1Z0-053 exam and submitting a form as proof of clearing hands on training.
3> OCM : Clearing 2 of the certified courses , appearing for the OCM exam , submitting a form as proof for clearing the certified courses and submitting the required application kit.
Since, I have already cleared the exam 1Z0-007 , do I have to clear it again as part of becoming an OCA or will the previous clearing of this exam suffice ?
also , do I have to clear 1Z0-051 exam.
Please note , I have cleared 1Z0-007 around February 2010.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Haider

...I saw that the path to become an OCM would be as...The steps you have listed are correct.
Since, I have already cleared the exam 1Z0-007 , do I have to clear it again...No, the one exam will serve for both certification tracks. Exam results do not expire.
