Oracle 11g R1 silent install, skip final input

Hello all,
I am attempting to automate the install of Oracle 11g R1 software. I have the silent install working correctly. Upon on completion it says:
"The installation of Oracle Database 11g was successful.
Please check '/u01/app/oracle/oraInventory/logs/silentInstall<date>.log' for more details."
It then sits and waits for the user to hit enter or any key to exit. Given that I am trying to do all of this and more via a shell script, I cannot give it an input manually. Is there a way to force the installation to exit at this point (via a parameter or some sort of shell command or however?) and continue with the next step in the shell script I have written?
Your help is appreciated, thank you.

I found that there is a "-nowait" parameter that does exactly what I want it to do, but there is no linux counterpart. I have tried -noconsole also thinking that if there is no console allocated, that it wouldnt prompt, but it still does. Any help would be appreciated.

    regds,since 11g is somewhat indeterminate you'll need to decide for yourself

  • 11g R2 -silent install: "Template General_Purpose.dbc does not exist"

    I'm working in an environment where no X-Windows/GUI is permitted; therefore, I'm attempting to perform a -silent install of 11g R2 on RHEL 5.3 and am finding the screen output to my terminal window less than helpful. Fortunately, a thorough review of the install actions log provides what appears to be my problem.
    The screen output I receive is as follows (I've added some line breaks to make it more readable):
    (oracle@blade2-1 database)$ cd /opt/oracleStagingArea/Oracle11gR2/11.2.0.1.0/Disk1/database
    (oracle@blade2-1 database)$ ./runInstaller -silent -responseFile /home/oracle/ResponseFiles/11gR2/ORCL11GD_enterprise_11201.rsp
    Starting Oracle Universal Installer...

    Preparing to launch Oracle Universal Installer from /tmp/OraInstall2009-09-14_01-25-28PM. Please wait ...
    (oracle@blade2-1 database)$
    You can find the log of this install session at:
    /u01/app/oracle/oraInventory/logs/installActions2009-09-14_01-25-28PM.log
    That's it - no indication as to whether the installation was successful or failed or whether the NETCA/DBCA/etc. were successful or not.
    I found that a listener existed after the install:
    (oracle@blade2-1 database)$ ps -ef | grep tns
    oracle 22597 1 0 13:29 ? 00:00:00 /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/db_1/bin/tnslsnr LISTENER -inherit
    My instance didn't appear to be up, though:
    (oracle@blade2-1 database)$ ps -ef | grep ORCL11GD
    oracle 22776 19142 0 13:39 pts/0 00:00:00 grep ORCL11GD
    So, I checked the /u01/app/oracle/oraInventory/logs/installActions2009-09-14_01-25-28PM.log to see what it revealed. It shows me the following for the DBCA:

    Hans: None at all, unfortunately.
    Srini: I obtained a copy of the note and read through it. It does look as though I should be able to run the DBCA in -silent mode to create a template, so no GUI needed. Thanks again!
    On a side note: Did anybody else notice the "General_Purpose.dbc" template missing from the $ORACLE_HOME/dbca/templates directory after an 11g R2 software install on RHEL 5.3? I'm beginning to suspect that not all components were installed as expected during the software installation. the oraInstall<Date/Time>.err file is full of errors such as the following:
    java.io.FileNotFoundException: /opt/oracleStagingArea/Oracle11gR2/11.2.0.1.0/Disk1/database/stage/Components/oracle.rdbms.install.seeddb/11.2.0.1.0/1/DataFiles/filegroup2.jar (No such file or directory)
    All of these errors are complaining about only the following 4 compoments:
    - oracle.ctx
    - oracle.sysman.console.db
    - oracle.owb.rsf
    - oracle.rdbms.install.seeddb
    Upon investigation, I found that there is no oracle.ctx, oracle.sysman.console.db, oracle.owb.rsf, or oracle.rdbms.install.seeddb under /opt/oracleStagingArea/Oracle11gR2/11.2.0.1.0/Disk1/database/stage/Compoments. Instead, the grouping is located under /opt/oracleStagingArea/Oracle11gR2/11.2.0.1.0/Disk2/database/stage/Components.
    It seems that I may have staged the media incorrectly in two separate directories. Should I have unzipped both files into the same directory instead of separating them out?

  • Final Cut Studio Pro 2 Install - Skip Final Cut Pro itself - TT_NEWALREADYI

    Dear All,
    I hope you can help. I have just bought a new Macbook Pro 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB RAM, with OS X 10.4.10 running. It came with iLife 08.
    I installed Logic Studio 8 (which was successful), and have been trying to install my copy of Final Cut Studio 2. When I run the installation, the options appear for custom install, but FInal Cut Pro, Compressor and QMaster are greyed out, and the action identified for them is "skip. If I rest the mouse over any of the options the text TT_NEWERALREADYINSTALLED appears.
    I have tried uninstalling the Logic Studio components with AppZapper, and retrying the install of Final Cut Studio, but no matter what I try to do, it won't install Final Cut Pro.
    Can anybody help?
    Kind Regards,
    Nick.

  • ORACLE 11g R2 POST Install Issue

    Hi,
    I have successfully installed ORACLE 11g R2 on my windows 7 platform. The problem is that when i open the database control URL page and then enter my credentials, it fails to log in and says that an internal error has occurred. Please view the log files. I have also seen the logs but didn't find anything helpful. Kindly help.
    Thanks.

    I got this data from 'emoms.log' It's not the full log file. It's just a last few part of it.
    May be this is the required one.

  • Oracle Client 10 silent install?

    Is there any kind of 'silent install' option for the Oracle client 10 runtime? A way to pre-configure it and then just have it autoexecute on a users workstation and auto-install?

  • Launching Wizards in Oracle 11G on Linux install

    Hi,
    Just wondering if someone can tell me where the wizard launches are located in the Linux install.
    Thanks,
    Zach

    Hans,
    I have heard them referred to in different ways,
    Configuration assistance, Wizards, etc. Say if I
    didnt want to create a database by command line. I
    wanted to walk through "Configuration Assistant" and
    choose defaults for the quick and easy setup. No worries. Using the correct terminology gets the right answer faster, and the wrong terminology simply means that we have to test and verify the question. Always works that way.
    One definition of professional is 'a person who knows the right name for the tools'. Based on that, I've known come amateurs who are much better than the pros.
    I would like to figure out where to launch the
    "Configuration Assistant" that might let me do that.
    I know in Windows environment, they are located right
    in the Oracle start menu. Actually, if you took a moments gander you might have noticed that the 'Start Menu' is nothing more than a set of shortcuts. There is literally no program 'In' the Start Menu.
    Right clicking on the Start Menu shortcut and looking at the properties would tell you the name of the Assistant and that it is located in the ORACLE_HOME/bin directory.
    And the nice thing about Oracle is that the names are pretty much the same in Linux, Unix and Windows (and others as well) Due to historic silliness, Windows needs a .exe at the end of the file name, so in Windows it is netca.exe and in Linux it's netca ... and so on.
    >
    Thanks for any help.Hope the above helps

  • Oracle 11g R2 Client Silent Installation Issue (PATH) Windows 7 x86

    Hi All,
    I'm hoping somebody can shed some light on this issue.
    I created a Response file using the 'Save Response File' method during an interactive installation on a Windows 7 Enterprise x86 client. (file enclosed)
    I have installed it multiple times now with multiple permutations of the command line (got caught out by the old lower case F in responseFile) but now I'm getting the same error each time (a critical error with the PATH according to the installation log). There is nothing wrong with the path length as the installation works fine in GUI mode and passes the Prereq check.
    I launch the command line to install (with Run As Administrator) - "[location of setup.exe]\setup.exe" -nowait -silent -responseFile "[location of response file]\Oracle11gv2.rsp"

  • How to Install Oracle 11g on Linux for Power?

    I've installed RedHat Enterprise Linux 5.4 on IBM PowerPC server.
    Now I want to install Oracle 11g on it. But there are no Oracle 11g downloads for Linux for Power.
    Is there any workaround so Oracle 11g can be installed on Linux on Power?

    Hi,
    I think you can forget it. Oracle 10g R2 was the last version supported on Linux PowerPC.
    Cheers,

    Pl identify the version of Windows 7, along with whether it is 32-bit or 64-bit. Do you meet all of the software requirements in the Install Guide ? http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17781_01/install.112/e18803/toc.htm
    Have you completed all of the steps in the guide ? If so, did the steps complete without any errors ?

  • Starting BPEL when email received - Oracle 11g

    I'm trying to start a BPEL Process with the reception of an email.
    - I'm working with Oracle 11g
    - Usermessagingserver is installed and configured to the correct server and it's working, at least it shows received emails and it's able to send emails from a BPEL process
    In the BPEL that has been done to start with the reception of an email I have the following:
    <partnerLink myRole="Consume_Message_role" name="Inbound" partnerLinkType="ns1:Consume_Message_plt"/>
    Inbound_jms.jca has the following configuration:
    <adapter-config name="Inbound" adapter="Jms Adapter" xmlns="http://platform.integration.oracle/blocks/adapter/fw/metadata">
    <connection-factory location="eis/wls/Queue" UIConnectionName="soa-server" UIJmsProvider="WLSJMS" adapterRef=""/>
    <endpoint-activation portType="Consume_Message_ptt" operation="Consume_Message">
    <activation-spec className="oracle.tip.adapter.jms.inbound.JmsConsumeActivationSpec">
    <property name="DestinationName" value="OraSDPM/Queues/OraSDPMEngineRcvQ1"/>
    <property name="UseMessageListener" value="true"/>
    <property name="PayloadType" value="BytesMessage"/>
    </activation-spec>
    </endpoint-activation>
    </adapter-config>
    When usermessagingserver receives an email message, the BPEL doesn’t start and I get this message in the log:
    PM oracle.sdpinternal.messaging.EngineReceivingCoreBean processMessageCommon
    WARNING: There is no application that has registered this address as an access point. Message will not be delivered.
    I have no idea how to configure an access point, I've only found how to De-register from Messaging Client Applications in the usermessagingserver.
    Found this documentation about registering access points, from an sample application of usermessaingserver in [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/doc.1111/e13807/ns_java_api.htm|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/doc.1111/e13807/ns_java_api.htm]
    but I cannot find where to download the example from the documentation.
    Any help appreciated.

    Does anyone has some input on this issue?
    I want to do the same thing, but I don't know how to...
    Thanks

  • Rootpre.sh with Oracle 11G Installation  on AIX 6.1

    We are upgrading to Oracle 11G from Oracle 10.2.0.4 on AIX 6.1 and ECC6.
    We are running Oracle 10G and SAP application while installing 11G
    Oracle binaries (obviously in a new oracle 11G home) , while
    installing Oracle 11G binaries we have to run rootpre.sh , Just
    wondering if we have to shut down existinig oracle 10G while running rootpre.sh for
    11G.
    Based on the above answer,we need to plan the upgrade as this
    will decide the length of downtime with Oracle upgrade, your reply will
    be highly appreciated.

  • Oracle 11G password case sensitive option is not working.

    Hello,
    I am facing problem in Oracle 11G. I installed and created a database. I disabled password case sensitive option by setting it to false (Pls see the below output). but case sensitive option is not disabled and i am not able to logon using the lower case password.
    SQL> connect sys/<pwd in lower case>@<connect string> as sysdba;
    ERROR:
    ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
    Warning: You are no longer connected to ORACLE.
    SQL> connect sys/<pwd in uppper case>@<connect string> as sysdba;
    Connected.
    SQL> show parameter SEC_CASE_SENSITIVE_LOGON
    NAME TYPE VALUE
    sec_case_sensitive_logon boolean FALSE
    Any idea.... should i open the case in the metalink ?
    With Regards
    Hemant Joshi.

    Can you execute:
    SQL> select USERNAME, PASSWORD_VERSIONS from dba_users where username = 'SYS';Have you tried reseting the sys password? When you create the password file by default the passwords stored on it are case sensitive, maybe you also need to rebuild it...
