Oracle 6i designer repository in a 10g database

Hi All,
Is there anyone who has the 6i repository in a 10g database? On Metalink Certification, it lists 10.1.0.3 as desupported. But that's probably because the designer tool is no longer certified...
Can anyone comment?
Thanks.

Hi
I'm just in the process of testing the upgrade of a 6i repository into a 10g one on a 10gR2 database. This means I have a 6i repos in a 10g database ... and it seems to work ok - in that I can open things and navigate around. That's just information for you syaing that it doesn't blow up with errors straightaway !

  • Importing a designer 6i repository into a 10g database?

    Hi,
I have a Designer 6i repository sitting in an 8.1.7.4 database and I would like to get rid of that database by importing the repository into a 10g or 11g database. My question is can this be done and have Designer 6 still working? If so, how easily?
    Thanks

  • Oracle client 9.2.7 in 10g database

    Hi All,
Our landscape is using oracle 10g (10.2.0.2) database with client version is 9.2.0.7 and currently we are usingĀ  sap 4.7.
Is there any chance of causing any performance issue in our environment if we continue to follow the above scenario? I would like to know the stable client for 10.2 oracle database.
    Thanks
    Aby

    Hi Aby,
Last time we also running Oracle 10 with sap 4.7 and oracle client 9.x
    Before we upgrade to ECC6.
And we only get some problem with our customer program.
Some of our customer program run very slow, and this because oracle choice wrong index for the SQL
So our programmer need to change the program and using hints
This is the only problem we get when we upgrade the oracle to 10g.

    Hi,
Can somebody help Apps cloning on the issue facing. Please provide in detailed process Apps Cloning with +ASM.
Trying to Clone 11i Apps environment(11.5.10.2) and Db 10.2.0.4. The database is on +ASM.
    1. Copied all the application files from SOURCE to TARGET ( source and target are different servers)
    2. Database restored from source and the TARGET database is up and running( Database servers TARGET and SOURCE are 2 different servers.
    3. As per doc id 230672.1 , preclone was successful in apps and db servers.
    ISSUE:
    =====
As per doc id 230672.1 , if we run adcfgclone on database server that messedup the database which is running already on the TARGET server, because adcfgclone recreate control files and all which is already intact for us in +ASM.
    Question:
    ======
    1. do we still need to do anything on the TARGER database server? if need to run , please provide the detailed steps
    2. Do we need to run adcfgclone on apps server? please provide the detailed steps.
    Thank You,
    Dheeru.

Yes, restored and the database is up and running.
Then i ran adcfgclone dbtier on database which messedup whole database. Deleted all the file in ASM disk groups and try to restore the database threw RMAN.
Got new error, Please see below.
In the first run previously i got same error but fixed by creating control_files='+LASR','+FLASH' in pfile, again it's giving same error.
    Also pasting PFILE.
    Any idea on this.

  • Oracle Headstart Designer 2.1.2 Utilities - Database Auth Scheme DB.030

I'm trying to use the Database Auth Scheme DB.030, but without
    much success.
I've created roles and users, granted system priviliges and run
the .sql file. I added a role to a module under its Security
tab, open Headstart Utilities and select my database, new role
and correct schema in DB.030. When I hit Run, I get the
    following information: -
    Information
    Message
Deleted old group object privileges created by this utility.
Created privilege for group 'CC_OP' and
    table 'OSS_ANONYMOUS_REQ_DEFS'.
Created privilege for group 'CC_OP' and table 'OSS_DOCUMENTS'.
Modified privilige for group 'CC_OP' and table 'OSS_DOCUMENTS'.
I was expecting to see extra entries in role_tab_privs, but
    nothing extra gets added.
Has anyone got a guide to using DB.030, or can tell me what I'm
doing wrong. There isn't any information about DB.030 in my
    Utilities manual.
    Thanks.

I'm not aware of any bugs related to this code.
In you utility preferences window, set the debug level to 'Debug
Detailed'. This will cause your log file to give you much more
information. You can examine the utility code to try to
determine where it might be going wrong. You can find the name
of the utility package in the online help for the utility. You
can then use something like PL/SQL Developer to examine the code.

  • Oracle 10g Database Setup Won't Start on Win XP Pro

I am new to Oracle and have just downloaded the 10g database from the Oracle website and am trying to install it on my Windows XP Professional Machine. When I double click "setup.exe" the hourglass timer appears very briefly but then nothing happens. Does anyone know why this would be? Thanks.

Try using the setup.exe in the install folder instead. If that doesn't work, verify that your download was ok (you should be able to verify the size of the downloaded file with that on the download page of OTN) and also verify that your hardware meets the minimum requirements for installation (see documentation in your doc folder).

I dont find OEM in the Oracle installation.

To mointor 9i and 10g database you have to install 10g GC and agents on every host machine. For more information kindly check below links.

  • Connect Oracle Developer / Designer to Oracle 10g XE database

I have installed the Oracle 10g XE database on my PC. Also on the same computer I have installed Oracle 10g Developer Suite (Designer, Forms etc). The database runs ok without problem. However I cannot connect Designer to the database. I know a listner program (e.g. tsn listner) has to be installed for the purpose of connecting to the database. When starting the XE database a listner program also is started.
    My question:
What do I have to do inorder to have the Designer connect to the XE database?
    R. Carson

Is there any changes should I do?!Well sorry but I don't know. This sugesstion to copy sqlnet.ora file resolve my problems to connect with Developer 6i to 10g, but that is 10g EE in my office, not XE at home...
Anyway your sqlnet.ora file look like very "default" but maybe is that O.K. on XE?
    Who knows?

  • Certified Operating Systems for use with Oracle Designer Repository

    Hi all,
We have Oracle Designer Repository version 10g(9.0.4.3.14) installed on Microsoft Windows 2000. As our OS and Network team is going to migrate the OS from Windows 2000 to Windows 2003, I want to know if Windows 2003 is certified for our Designer version or not.
    Thanks in advance.
    Iman

I think you misunderstood Mark's statement. Oracle Designer has two distinct but tightly related parts. One is the Oracle Designer Client, which is a client/server application that only runs on Microsoft Windows. The latest versions are certified for Windows XP R3, but you'll have to check the current certification matrix to see on what OSs your version of the Designer client are certified.
The other part is the Oracle Designer Repository. This is a set of tables, views and stored procedures that are installed in an Oracle database. The Oracle database can be on any OS or hardware for which that version of the database is certified. There is a certification matrix to show the certified versions of OS and database, and a separate matrix to show certified combinations of database and repository.
The Oracle Designer Repository and the Oracle Designer client must be matched, but basically, if you run the Repository Administration Utility against a lower version of the repository, it will give you an option to upgrade the repository to the version that is compatible with your client. If you run against a higher version of the repository, it just won't work, and you'll have to upgrade your client.
Unfortunately, the certification matrices seem to have disappeared from OTN, so they are only available through My Oracle Support.

  • Migrating Designer Repository 6i to Repository 10g

My client has an Oracle Designer repository 6i Version 6.5.92.1.9 Release 4.7.(Repository 9i).
He has created an Oracle Designer repository 10g (latest version) onto another server.
He wants to migrate his Repository 6i into his new repository 10g.
Is it possible to do this, if not could you tell me more.
    Thanks

He ought to be able to use the Export in the Repository Administration Utility (RAU) in 6i to export the repository and Import in the RAU in 10g to import it. Two caveats:
    1. Don't try to go from a versioned repository to a non-versioned one. I think the other way around works, but I don't have mine versioned, so I don't know for sure.
    2. Make absolutely sure that you are using the right EXP for the database version in which the 6i repository is stored and the right IMP for the database version in which the 10g repository is stored. Check the EXECUTE_EXP and EXECUTE_IMP registry settings on each. I've seen a lot of problems that could be avoided by using the right export and import.

    Hi all,
i started creating database control repository, when i saw emca running i had seen repository created successfully , but sysman user is not created at this point of time. Then i looked into emca_repos_create_2008-04-10_11-57-03-AM.log file but the file is unable to open because it's looking for file emreposcre.sql which creates sysman user in this location /opt/db/oracle/product/10.2.0/sysman/admin/emdrep/sql/
i feel while installing the database these files are not created....? or i need to run any scripts before running emca ....?
give me some inputs to this thread.
    Thanks,
    nil

  • Oracle 10g - Database does not respond to the application users

    Hi all,
I am using ORACLE 10g database with 75 users connections 50 local and 20 remote users using ADSL and dial up modem. Operating system on server is
    Windows 2003.
All of a sudden users making the entry get disconnected getting the error as
ORA-12516: TNS:listener could not find available handler with matching protocol stack
Other case users when using the appliaction get their PC hanged and connection
to oracle fails again. they cannot login to the application that time, the error is
ORA-04031: unable to allocate %s bytes of shared memory ("%s","%s","%s","%s")
Twice a day the users trying to login cannot access the database server.
Front end application is in VB using exe file. When the users cannot logon
to the database. I manually stop the ORACLE services(including DB console) and
    then stop the listener.
This practice is going on since last two months.
    Server Scenario
After Installing Oracle Standard Edition 10g.
System tablespace utilization is 98.5% which is 465 MB out of total 470 MB.
There is only one Rollback Segment named as SYSTEM.
    when we install 9i 4 rollback segments as RO1, RO2, RO3, RO4 are created
    by default.
Do I need to add the datafile to SYSTEM table space as its current usage is 99.15% and its auto extend is ticked on using auto extent as 10 MB. I tried adding another datafile during weekend downtime. when I resumed on saturday morning I found it did not add any datafile which I had put on thursday eveninig as system02.dbf.
Do I need to add a new datafile to the SYSTEM tablespace ?
Do I need to create new rollback segments apart from SYSTEM rollback segment ?
My current schema size 15360Mb with its usage as 9.32% (1432.25 Mb).
    Please reply !!!

Currently AUTOEXTEND is ticked as on for SYSTEM tablespace and its size is showing as 99.16% (466.06 mb) used which is very much nearing to its full capacity of 470 mb.
Currently 75 users - 50 Local users and 20 Remote Users are connected to the server. Is there any limit that Server should have limited connections.
Server has Windows 2003 Standard Edition. Has Windows 2003 anything to do
with the no. of users getting connected ?
