Oracle 8.0.4 is not working on win98

i have win98.i have installed oracle 8.0.4 successfuly but when i start using it a messege comes which is "this programe may not run correctly on win98 because of enhanced operating system features".
plz solve my problem.

Probably 8.0.4 version was not designed to run in win98.
Use 8.1.+ personal edition for win98.

Hi everyone,
I have a form which gets called from another form through a list of value. The called form(second form) has a group of tabbed canvases which get displayed depending on the parameters passed from the first form.
The Form is working prefectly fine in Forms 6i but when I converted the same form in to forms 10G it does not seem to work the same way. The tabbed canvasses are not getting displayed. I am manually having to press the execute query to get data displayed in the tabbed canvasses. I checked the parameters that are being passed and they are the same as that in Forms 6i.

Oracle.ifs.admin.export.ExportUsers NOT working in SILENT mode

I'm trying to export my CMSDK users via the commandline script (since the GUI tool MAKES YOU SELECT EACH USER ONE AT A TIME!!!) but it is not working. The CMSDK doc incorrectly tells you to run oracle.ifs.admin.export but I've found that you have to run ...ExportUsers. However my def file has the runsilent attr set but the GUI app still pops up???? Below is my script

You would normally write
UPDATE inputStreet g

Oracle 10g RAC SQL profiles not working for both the nodes

We have identified a long running sql.
Used Advisor to tune the sql
Applied the suggested sql_profile as per the recommendation.
when we re-run the sql from application, due to RAC setup the sql hit the other node, used the sql profile as indicated by v$sql but was long running.
it generated a new sql_id due to which we think it was not working.
Could you please advice how to apply sql_profile for both nodes?

Just to share the solution of the problem.
We restarted the XServer which is on the other machine then Oracle 9i AS Middle Tiere and Infra. Once we restarted the XServer machine, and restarted the reports server , every thing back to normal.

Oracle Streams Update conflict handler not working

Hello,
I've been working on the Oracle streams and this time we've to come up with Update conflict handler.
We are using Oracle 11g on Solaris10 env.
So far, we have implemented bi-directional Oracle Streams Replication and it is working fine.
Now, when i try to implement Update conflict handler - it executed successfully but it is not fulfilling the desired functionality.
Here are the steps i performed:
Steap -1:

Personally, I had a lot of difficulties getting the full install going on 512M (it is fine if you are running JDev and OC4J and DB) but a full 9iAS, even turning off services is tough. Given you are trying 392, I think it is even more problematic.

ORACLE 11G "real time apply" not work?????

we have a database original on ORACLE 10.2.0.4 and we upgrade it to 11.1.0.7.
after that we create standby database and tried to use "real time apply" feature.
Primary database can transfer log files to standby database and standby database also can apply logs. The problem is it can NOT work on "real time apply".
Ant ideal what wrong?

There are a couple of things to look at.
1. Real time apply requires standby redo logs on the standby database. On the standby database run this query:
SELECT * FROM v$logfile where type = 'STANDBY';
if you get 0 rows back you'll need to create standby logfiles
The general guideline is to size them exactly like your redo logs but add one additional standby log to ensure it doesn't cause a bottleneck.
2. Get the size of your logfiles:
SELECT GROUP#, BYTES FROM V$LOG;
3. For example if you have 3 redo logs that are 50 MB in size, create 4 standby redo logs 50 MB each and don't multiplex them.
ALTER DATABASE ADD STANDBY LOGFILE ('/Archive/DBSBY/onlinelog/slog1.rdo') SIZE 50M;
ALTER DATABASE ADD STANDBY LOGFILE ('/Archive/DBSBY/onlinelog/slog2.rdo') SIZE 50M;

ALTER DATABASE ADD STANDBY LOGFILE ('/Archive/DBSBY/onlinelog/slog4.rdo') SIZE 50M;
4. Cancel recovery on standby
recover managed standby database cancel;
5. Restart recovery using real time apply
recover managed standby database using current logfile disconnect;
6. To validate that real time is working you can check a few places.
-It will say in the database alert log on standby that it's using real time apply
OR
-Check primary
SELECT status, recovery_mode FROM v$archive_dest_status where dest_name = 'LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2';
If the recovery_mode is "MANAGED REAL TIME APPLY" then real time apply is working, if it's anything else then we'll need to check more things.
NOTE that if you are going to allow your current primary to switch roles and become a standby then you'll want to create standby redo logs on primary as well
Sometimes recovery gets "stuck" and simply resetting the destination parameters can resolve it:
alter system set log_archive_dest_2='service=DBSBY valid_for=(online_logfiles,primary_role) db_unique_name=DBSBY LGWR ASYNC=20480 OPTIONAL REOPEN=15 NET_TIMEOUT=30';
There are some other things we can check next but let's start with the easiest fixes first.

I am able to successfully enqueue my payload message into the queue.
But when I try to dequeue the message using both option 1) listen() 2) OracleAQQueue.MessageAvailable event both are not working
1) When I call OracleAQQueue.listen() I get the error message ORA-25295 - Subscriber is not allowed to dequeue buffered messages. I tried to drop the subscriber and add it back, still its of no use.
2) When I register this callback method OracleAQQueue.MessageAvailable it is not getting fired when new message are inserted in the queue.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

2000 v2.1, the lsnrctl80 is not starting and other .exe file of
bin directory are not working properly execpt sqlplus.
at the time of installation of oracle ,it gave me a message that
some of file will not work properly on win98 try to get
upgradation files from oracle's web site.
is there anyone who could help me to overcome this problem.

Oracle wallet(oraclepki.jar) is not working with WLS 10.3.1

An external application is storing a password in oracle wallet i.e cwallet.sso and ewallet.p12 files using OracleWallet technology (oraclepki.jar).
I have an web application which uses this password stored in the wallet for internal use, this application works fine if we deploy it in OC4J, but if Install the same application in WLS 10.3.1 application is not able to get the password for wallet.
Oracle wallet require only oraclepki.jar file and this jar file is bundled in the ear file.
Can someone guide me so that we can use Oracle wallet with WLS.

Step 5: Re-run the “select from DBA_CHANGE_NOTIFICATION_REGS”*
There is no rows returned.
Can anyone help me on this ? how to trace why the updates notification is not trigger ?

Oracle 10G installed Enterprise manager not working

I have installed oracle 10g on my laptop having enterprise linux 4(on VM Ware) . All the things are working fine when i use database using sqlplus, but i am not able to start enterprise manager. the first time i started the database i was able to start enterprise manager.

It works now after removing listener.ora & sqlnet.ora and modifying ServerName from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx to //xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:1521/orcl.
