Oracle 8i - DataGatherer Service Error
When installing Oracle 8i, I get Error for DataGatherer Service cannot start. Any idea why? I even tried from control panel to start the service, but failed. The HTTP Server cannot start either.

What sort of massage you are getting , when you startup your service ?

Error while starting Oracle Secure Backup Service on Windows
Hi,
I've installed an Oracle 10gR2 database, and an OSB on a Windows XP (SP2) machine, and when trying to start the service (Oracle Secure Backup Services) I got the following error :
"Unknown():Unable to load dynamic library'./php_osb.dll'-The operating system cannot run %1"
This error message pops up 2-3 times, and I cannot login to OSB web page.
My database works ok, but I cannot "test" OSB
Anyone else had the same problem? Any ideas ?
Thanks,
PanagiotisHi-- could you please describe your administrative domain?
I need to know the operating systems on each of the
clients and the OSB admin server. Also, does 'obtool' CLI
tool work? Do any of the machines act as an apache webserver
for another application? Is there any other backup service
running on any of the machines?
thanks,
Judy
I noticed that when re-installing the OSB without the
Administrative Server (only Media Server and Client)
I got no errors at all (but still cannot connect from
another Administratice Server to my machine) -

MS Services error 1064 when trying to start Oracle BI Scheduler service
I am trying to configure Oracle BI Scheduler. After working through the config routines the Oracle BI Scheduler Service needs to be re-started. The Microsoft error message I get in the Services dialog is both consistent and persistent: "Could not start the Oracle BI Scheduler on local computer. Error 1064: An exception occurred in the service when handling the control request." This error seems to be well-known among users of this product, but the solution - if there is one - is not at all well-known... at least to me. Any help?
Follow this article and make sure you defined all the steps. If any of these steps are wrong, the service throws the error.
http://oraclebizint.wordpress.com/2007/09/13/oracle-bi-ee-10133-configuring-delivers-ibots/
and also check is scheduler database is up and running.

Error - Unable to communicate to Oracle BI Presentation service...
Hi all,
Why am I getting error in Answers -> Edit dashboard -> Try to add request from left panel
+"Unable to communicate to Oracle BI Presentation service. Please ensure you are still logged in and try again."+
I am connected an every thing else is working fine. This is only happening in one dashboard. Please help.
ThanksThanks for reply saichand,
I have tried this from your link
Hi,
I've faced the same problem as yours; unable to access other links in Presentation Services. I've finally resolved the problem by replacing the URL http://<computername>:<portnumber>/analytics/ with http://localhost:portnumber/analytics. Eg. http://localhost:9704/analytics. It works for me.
but nothing is changed I am still getting error.

Hi all,
I am trying for RAC 10gR1 (10.1.0.2) using two machines with Windows 2000 Server. For this I need to install Oracle Cluster Ready Services Release 1 (10.1.0.2).
Machine details are as follows:-

Our XML Publisher TMP is not defined, so it uses the APPLTMP used by concurrent manager. There is a folder xdofonts/<SID> in $APPLTMP. It contains the fonts used by XML publisher and on the of font file (.ttf) was 0 byte. We copied the ttf file from QA. And it started working.
Best practice is to define diffent TMP for concurrent managers and XML Publisher.

Appreciate any help. Thanks.
BinishOk, this sounds like a known bug ( Bug 5908689 ) in 10.1.3.1, but this was specific to non-Windows platforms. Are you on Linux/Solaris or any other platform? It might or might not be the same problem you are hitting but it does seem quite close (can't say for sure without a close investigation, I am afraid!)
In any case, this bug is fixed in the 10.1.3.4 patchset (besides quite a few other fixes and enhancements) - so would recommend you to first apply the 10.1.3.4 patchset and retest. The patchset is available on My Oracle Support (formerly Metalink) under Patch 7272722. Or you could go a step ahead, and apply the 10.1.3.5 patchset (Patch 8626084) instead which is the latest patchset for OracleAS 10.1.3.x.

Security service error in OBIEE 11G LDAP configuration
Hello
I've recently set up some OBIEE 11G installations and they appear to work ok.
I've more recently been using various guides on the internet to configure OBIEE 11G and Active Directory and can see the users and groups within Weblogic that belong the to the Provider that i've configured.
However, when I attempt to start up OPMN, it always gives me the error like the following:
<Jun 24, 2013 1:45:38 PM NZST> <Warning> <oracle.jps.idmgmt> <BEA-000000> <Requested Object Class (user)not found in cache.
oracle.security.idm.OperationFailureException: Requested Object Class (user)not found in cache.
<Jun 24, 2013 1:52:20 PM NZST> <Error> <oracle.bi.security.service> <OBI-SEC-00004> <Unable to initialize oracle.bi.security.service.SecurityWebService>
I initially had the User Object Class as User in the Provider configuration and noticed it wasn't in the LDAP directory so I tried changing it to a Object Class that did exist for one of the users but it made no difference. It still says the same error message even though I have no reference to User in the configuration.
Can anyone suggest something I might be doing wrong or missing?I have followed the same configuration. However i am getting the following error when i try to login
Caused by: oracle.bi.security.service.SecurityServiceException: SecurityService::authenticateUserWithLanguage - '<LDAP user>' was authenticated but could not located within the Identity Store.
I guess some configuration issue, but cannot be able to spot the error. Please let me know your idea
Thanks -

Also I have been able to do RL syntax validation. Everyhting seems to OK with no errors.

JayHi all,
I am experiencing the same error.
Jay: Did you ever get it fixed? If so - how?
Ralf: Could you please elaborate on what you mean by turning on debugging for the 'services'?
I have not been able to find anything regarding enable rules tracing in the BPEL Developers Guide.
I don't know if perhaps there is a new version out there?
I have set the logging level to All in the BPEL console, but when I look at the opmn log I don't get more information about the error than what is printed in the BPEL console (as described by Jay).
With regards to the two likely error candidates:
I assert that a request parameter is true.
I have created a rule which set a response parameter to true if the request parameter is true.
So the rule should fire and the fact is part of that rule.
Any advise?
Thank you both in advance.

andrewThe following procedure describes the steps required to deploy the DbAdapter.rar file using admin_client.jar:
1. Copy the following libraries from server.xml in an OC4J_SOA container to a server.xml file for a new
container:
oracle.bpel.common
apache.junit
oracle.db.lite
apache.commons
apache.jdom
apache.slide
For example, for oracle.bpel.common, copy the following extract from one server.xml to another and
do the same for all other libraries:
<shared-library name="oracle.bpel.common" version="10.1.3">
<code-source path="D:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_5/bpel/system/classes"/>

2. Restart the container to make sure that server.xml was updated correctly.
3. From the configtools.log file find the opmn port number, for example:
deployer:oc4j:opmn://dimak.au.oracle.com:6012/home
dimak.au.oracle.com - is the machine name and
6012 - port number
4. Launch a new command prompt
and set path and classpath, for example:
set PATH=$ORACLE_HOME\jdk\bin;%PATH%
set classpath=.
where in the classpath there is only one entry - the dot, which stands for the current directory.
5. change directory to the following:
$ORACLE_HOME\j2ee\home
and run the following command (written all on one line) to deploy the DbAdapter:
java -jar admin_client.jar deployer:oc4j:opmn://dimak.au.oracle.com:6012/test oc4jadmin
manager1 -deploy -file $ORACLE_HOME\integration\esb\lib\DBAdapter.rar -deploymentName
DbAdapter2 -parent default
where
* dimak.au.oracle.com should be substituted with your machine name
* 6012 should be substituted with your port which you found in step 3
* test is the name of the container you want to deploy the adapter to
* manager1 should be substituted with your oc4jadmin password
* $ORACLE_HOME\integration\esb\lib\DBAdapter.rar is the location of the DBAdapter.rar file
* deploymentName DbAdapter2 - should be different from DbAdapter, as that name is already used in the OC4J_SOA container. -
Hi,
Did anyone came across this issue with Class not being found for XSLT Function used in transformer on 12c OSB.
I'm using oraext:sequence-next-val and have configured as below:
namespace-uri:http://www.oracle.com/XSL/Transform/java/oracle.tip.pc.services.functions.ExtFunc
namespace-prefix: oraext
Not sure why at runtime I'm getting below error, as the same was working fine in 11g OSB Domain.
XML-22045: (Error) Extension function error: Class not found 'oracle.tip.pc.services.functions.ExtFunc'Have you restarted servers after putting jar in $Domain_Home/lib directory? Also try after explicitly adding this jar in classpath by editing server startup script (startManagedWeblogic.cmd or .sh) or in domain env setting script (setDonainEnv.cmd or .sh) and restarting the servers.

Not able to deploy Oracle RTD Inline Service
Hi,
I have created a new RTD Inline service in eclipse by following : Creating an Inline Service - 11g Release 1 (11.1.1)

Please help as what went wrong and how it can be solved.
I am stuck from past one week. Not able to understand anything now
Regards,
Vijay InaniHi Soumen,
My decision service is working fine. Have checked the same in em and thru opmnctl.
Were you able to solve the error? If yes, please elaborate: How.
I extended OBIEE 11.1.1.7 both on Weblogic 10.3.5 and 10.3.6, but faced the same error at both the places.
Please help.
Thanks and Regards,
Vijay Inani
