Oracle 9.2.0.1.0 support

Hi friends
I am currently using Oracle 9.2.0.1.0 version. I need to upgrade to 9.2.0.8.0. Is there any patch available or oracle stop the support to 9.2.0.1.0. If so to change to a new version what to do? Please help me with a specific answer. Please send the correct link if the patch set is available.

check Metalink notes 161818.1 and 189908.1
But its always better to talk to Oracle support. They will have the latest information.

  • Oracle v.7.3.4.4 support

    Is Oracle v.7.3.4.4 is still supported by Oracle?
    I've been looking around the Oracle website and it appears that Oracle v.7.3.4 is supported, but I see there's a v.7.3.4.5 patch level. I'm wondering if you have to be at this latest patch level to be supported.
    Thanks!

    Oracle started desupporting 7.3.4 at the end of 2000 (Error Correction Support ended Dec 31, 2000). Extended support ended on December 31, 2003.
    Now, if you have a current support contract, Oracle may be willing/ able to help you out with the old version or to help you acquire the most recent patches, but that's probably going to depend on whether you happen to get a support analyst that's been around long enough to remember the 7.3.4 days and/or what sort of clout your organization has...

  • Does Oracle XE 10g or 11g  have supported patches/bug fixes

    Does Oracle XE 10g or 11g  have supported patches/bug fixes?

    XE isn't patch-able, unfortunately- eg. in the section ...Major Features Not Included at http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17781_01/license.112/e18068/toc.htm#XELIC116 a "patch set" is one of the "not included" items
    One could install one of the full release editions, get it patched, and upgrade an XE instance with the patch-able edition, but access to patches requires a support agreement.

  • Extending Oracle BI SE One domain to support Oracle OSB

    Hello,
    does anybody know whether it is possible to extend Oracle BI SE One domain to support Oracle OSB?
    I haven't found any note, nor blog where it is mentioned or if somebody has ever tried it.
    Thanks!

    If you have a weblogic domain any BI components configured then you cannot use this domain to extend any other BI component. However you can use the same domain to extend with any other non BI Oracle product.

  • Is the Runtime installation of Oracle Client 10.2.0.4 supported with Busine

    Hi all,
    I have a some queries.
    1. Is the Runtime installation of Oracle Client 10.2.0.4 supported with BusinessObjects XI 3.1?
    2. Is the Administration installation of Oracle Client 10.2.0.4 supported with BusinessObjects XI 3.1?
    3. Does BusinessObjects XI 3.1 use Oracle .NET?  I'm asking this because the Runtime installation doesn't install Oracle .NET.
    4. Is there any functionality that is lost from BusinessObjects XI 3.1 if the Runtime installation of Oracle Client 10.2.0.4?
    Regards

    Hi Kultar,
    I do not have any problem with an Oracle Installation and BO XI 3.0. I have a virtual machine which has oracle database 10.2.0.1 and BO XI 3.0.
    The CMS repository resides in the Oracle DB. From My Experience I do not have any problem with the two installations in the same machine.

  • Oracle VM Server 2.2.1 - support for NTFS external drive?

    Hi,
    Another "newbie" question here... we have just installed Oracle VM Server 2.2.1 on a Dell box and now we want to install some Template VM's that we downloaded. The problem is - they are on an external Hard Drive that is an NTFS drive.
    So - when we connect the drive it's detected ok - but we can't mount it as the NTFS filesystem support doesn't appear to be installed as standard?
    If it isn't - how/where do we get NTFS support into the Kernel?
    Any help appreciated.
    Regards,
    Bren

    Hi Bren,
    unfortunately as far as I know native NTFS support is in RHEL/OEL 5.4. And since Oracle VM is based on OEL 5.3 there is no direct support for NTFS.
    However there is an "unofficial" and probably not supported possibility to install FUSE and get NTFS3g to get what you want:
    Point the yum update server to OVS 2.2.1 and OEL 5.3 (on which OVS is based) on public-yum.oracle.com:
    # vi /etc/yum.repos.d/public-yum-el5.repo
    [el5_u3_base]
    name=Enterprise Linux $releasever U3 - $basearch - base
    baseurl=http://public-yum.oracle.com/repo/EnterpriseLinux/EL5/3/base/$basearch/
    gpgkey=http://public-yum.oracle.com/RPM-GPG-KEY-oracle-el5
    gpgcheck=1
    enabled=1
    [ovm22_2.2.1_base]
    name=OracleVM 2 - 2.2.1 - $basearch - base
    baseurl=http://public-yum.oracle.com/repo/OracleVM/OVM2/2.2.1/base/$basearch/
    gpgkey=http://public-yum.oracle.com/RPM-GPG-KEY-oracle-el5
    gpgcheck=1
    enabled=1
    Then you are able to install gcc compiler, which is needed for FUSE:
    # yum install gcc
    Insert the OVS Server CD or use the OVS repository from public-yum to install the develop kernel:
    # yum install kernel-ovs-devel
    Download the required FUSE packages and NTFS3g:
    http://ntfs-3g.org
    http://fuse.sourceforge.net/
    # wget http://marush.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/ntfs-3g-200944-el5i686.rpm
    # wget http://switch.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/fuse/fuse-2.7.4.tar.gz
    Install Fuse:
    # tar -xvzf fuse-2.7.4.tar.gz
    # cd fuse-2.7.4
    # ./configure
    # make
    # make install
    # modprobe fuse
    # cd ..
    Install NTFS3g:
    # rpm -Uvh ntfs-3g-200944-el5i686.rpm
    Then you should be able to mount the ntfs filesystem:
    # mkdir /ntfs
    # echo "/dev/sda3 /ntfs ntfs-3g defaults 0 0" >> /etc/fstab
    # mount -a
    Note however, that this probably is not supported.
    So mounting the drive on a windows computer and copying the files via. pscp might probably be the easier and supported way...
    Regards
    Sebastian

  • CTXSYS.Context in Oracle Multitenant Database (Cloud) - is this supported?

    Hello guys,
    I am new to the world of apex which makes the administration console for the oracle database cloud a trivial ground for me.
    I am trying to setup context indextype which i require for some applications on the jcs front end. however, i am having no luck setting up this index types.
    I havent been able to find any resources regarding the CTXSYS package within the oracle database cloud documentation so I am hoping someone out here may have a few tips or tricks for me.
    How can I grant execute on CTXSYS.CTX_DDL object to my database users?
    thanks.

    There's no oracle text support for database cloud services shamefully.
    I cant help but wonder why oracle wont support features of its own product, not something to brag about "Oracle!!!!"

    Net Team9iR2 is not certified/supported on Win 2008. 9iR2 is desupported software - you will need to use a supported database version such as 11gR1 or 11gr2.

  • Solaris 10 Oracle VDI VirtualBox 3.2 USB support

    Dear folks,
    This my first time to the forum, since we are in the progress of deploying 240+ thin clients using Oracle VDI. I was piloting the project in a desktop machines with Sunray 3i. I installed Solaris 10 9/10 and Oracle VDI 3.2.1. However, while I was creating WinXP VM in Virtualbox 3.2 -the one which came with Oracle VDI 3.2- I got that error about being unable to connect to USB proxy server. Eventually this error leads to that all my VMs doesn't support USB redirection. So USB flash disk drive doesn't work in my Sunray 3i. Reading VirtualBox documentation Installing on Solaris hosts , I came across this info "*This does not apply to Solaris 10 hosts due to lack of USB support.*" Is this real?
    Does this mean I can't redirect USB hardware to my VMs in the server via Sunray 3i? If this is true, what is the workaround for this problem?
    Please advise me. . .

    Other than the documentation stating it doesn't work, in practice have you tested it to not work also?
    We have two Solaris 10u5 machines running Vbox 3.2.12 and they pass through USB fine with our Sun Ray 3's (not 3i's but that shouldn't matter).
    Did you enable USB passthrough in the VDI core by selecting the desktop pool and going to the Settings -> Sun Ray RDP Settings? Theres checkboxes to enable USB/smartcard pass through.

  • Oracle Linux as Guest OS in Oracle VM (which all kernel are supported.)

    Hi,
    currently Oracle packages two different kernels with Oracle Linux (Redhat compatible kernel and UEK). so when running Oracle Linux as guest on Oracle VM server which are the kernel are supported???
    Thanks,

    Thanks for your reply... i understand that Oracle kernel is better than Red Hat compatible kernel, but RHCK is still bundled with OL , that's where my question started whether RHCK is supported as guest in OVM?

  • Oracle 11g and changes in RDF support?

    Hello,
    I wanted to ask about the nature of the changes in the RDF support for the version 11g of Oracle RDF Database. Will the changes in the RDF support be only internal or will there be changes to the interfaces as well? Is there any specific documentation on this type of particular change?
    Thanks,

    Hi Gokhan,
    There are changes both internal (several performance improvements, and some functionality additions to existing APIs), and external. The features in 11g can be summarized as follows (they are also included in the Oracle World presentation available at: http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/semantic_technologies/index.html (second link under 'what's new')
    (1) Fast bulk-load (several times faster than the 10gR2 batch load) [New API]
    (2) Native OWL inferencing (for an OWL subset that includes property characteristics, class comparisons, proprety comparisons, individual comparions and class expressions) [New API]
    (3) Faster query [these changes are internal only]
    (4) New SQL operators for enhancing a relational query using an ontology
    [New API]
    (The above is intended to outline our general product direction. It is intended for information purposes only, and may not be incorporated into any contract. It is not a commitment to deliver any material, code, or functionality, and should not be relied upon in making purchasing decisions.The development, release, and timing of any features or functionality described for Oracle’s products remain at the sole discretion of Oracle.)

  • How long is Oracle Forms/Developer Suite to be supported?

    Hi.
    I'm just curious how long Oracle are committed to supporting or creating new versions of Oracle Forms Developer / Developer Suite. I've heard, from one or two sources, that the intention is to abandon forms, and move the focus completely to Jdeveloper some time soon...
    Is this true? does anyone know anything different?

    Here we are again whith that question...
    I'm a senior forms developer (and to make a little humour i've just recently learned designer...)
    I think the confusion comes also from "J2EE Application Development for Forms and Designer Developers" which can make us thinking oracle is pushing up to J2EE and prepare us for the Dead of Forms RIP ...
    And also that forms developer like me are a little bit afraid because they probably have no skills in J2EE.
    But for me it is clear now.
    There is no reason to migrate Forms to J2EE with whatelse tool can be sell to you.
    I tried some demos in the past with such tools and it makes me laugh, converting a simple master detail forms dept/emp.
    What can such tools make with very complex forms and logic ?
    But the question is if I had to create a new application will i still do it with Forms ?
    And the answer (for me) is no, especially when I see what the next Jdeveloper 11g will be able to do (I tried the fusion order demo and i was really impressed)
    You say "I've invested so much time in learning, and becoming proficient at Oracle Forms..."
    And so did I but I bought the book "Oracle JDeveloper 10g for Forms and PL/SQL Developers" and I study it page after page to enter the ADF world and upgrade my knowledge.
    So Forms or J2EE it is your choice and i will not post the link to the SOD (francois did it) but Forms can also live in a SOA world http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/pdf/10gR2/forms-soa-wp.pdf
    but we, forms developers, we must not only focus on forms and its death, but also go ahead and invest so much time we did to learn forms in learning J2EE, BPEL and etc etc.
    Hope this can help
    Jean-Yves
    ps : relating to older post, forms was dead each time a new version of the appServer was comming :o)
