Oracle 9i certification deprecated yet??

Anybody know if this 9i certification path is deprecated yet ( is ii still possible to do exams ? ) .
I'm just that little bit slow in completing it ( lots of other things to do , etc etc )

As per the current moment, OCP of 9i is still valid and there is no news so far when it be dumped.Only 9i OCM is deprecated so far.
You may need to check ,http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=206 constantly and continously to know when it will be expired though.

    Your best option would probably be to upgrade your 10g DBA OCP to 11g DBA OCP with exam 050, then move to 11g RAC with exam 058. This way you do not have to complete additional training.

    I would like to go for Oracle 11g certification in Developer track. I've already given 1Z0-051 paper.
    Is OCA 11g certification in Developer track now available. And if it is not currently available, I believe when it is going to be released the first paper is going to the be same (1Z0-051) and I could give the second paper and get the certification.

    I see that 1Z0-146 is the final paper for OCP (Advanced PL/SQL programmer). Can I not get a OCA certification in 11g?You can get the "Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate" certificate if you pass (1Z0-001 or 1Z0-007 or 1Z0-047 or 1Z0-051) + 1Z0-147 exam.

  • Oracle 10g Certification

    I want to do Oracle 10g certification( 1z0-042 and 1z0-043 ). Do I have to take training course from ORACLE for
    that. How much it will cost? Is there any other way like doing Oracle 9i DBA Track without this instructor led
    training programme.

    That means I have to attend the course before taking the second exam 1z0-043.The before* bit is not true ... the order can be either way .....
    Just to be clear you can take 1z0-043 before taking your hands on line course (which is what I did). The advantage in that is you dont have to fork out the money for the course before you've passed the exam, the disadvantage is it will probably take an extra 5 weeks before your OCP certificate comes in the post .. eg about 12 weeks in total after finishing the hands on course before you get your certificate ... ( in the meanwhile seek out [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I%27m_Still_Waiting] on iTunes)
    I had similar choices to you - I was initiallially for choosing a 2 day 10g advanced pl/sql course (cheap) ... but the one i had seen got cancelled so 1 did a 5 day 11g RAC course instead. (expensive but good). Worth getting aware of the schedule of courses at locations convenient to youself and costs of courses and seek out the one with the best cost/benefit for yourself (that is an acceptable hands on for 10g dba).

    Oracle Developer Exam Certification Guide from Oracle Press certainly needs update to cover web based forms. Most of it covers Forms Reports 5.0 , 6i only. Try

    I've given 3 exams this year from 9i OCP Certification. Before it, I was wondering whether these certification track will be retired or not. I wrote an email to Oracle Certification Team and got answer that:
    Currently Oracle does not have any plans to retire the Oracle 9i certification track. When an OCP track retires, candidates pursuing the track are given at least 3 months time to complete their exams.
