Oracle 9i  for Windows XP Home Edition

Would like to know which version can be downloaded to install oracle 9i for Windows XP Home Edition .. Would like to download Oracle 9i Developer as well...

I can only comment on the database installation. Oracle has now supported 9i for XP professional (no previous versions will be supported). XP home will NOT be a supported platform for Oracle products.
NOTE: There is a bug with 9i installations that the OUI will fail if the CLASSPATH has been set by installations from previous Oracle installations. Before installing 9i you will need to clear the CLASSPATH and then proceed with your installation. Once the installation is complete you can restore the CLASSPATH with your original settings.

  • Oracle 8i for Windows XP Home Edition

Could someone please advise which is the correct download version of Oracle 8i to use with Windows XP Home Edition?

As far as I know, your need XP Professional.
On top of that, you'd better download Oracle 9i.
Let me explain: the symcjit.dll library in Oracle 8.1.5 did not work on XP w/Pentium IV. You had to go to symantec.com and download the proper JDK, extract symcjit.dll from it and replace the original symcjit.dll (that came on the Oracle CD or in the download) with the new symcjit.dll
This means that you have to copy the CD to disk, unzip it and replace symcjit.dll in the unzipped distribution.
I do not know if this was fixed in 8.1.7, but 9i installs beautifully on XP Professional, Pentium IV w/512MB RAM.
Could someone please advise which is the correct download version of Oracle 8i to use with Windows XP Home Edition?

  • Tuxedo 8.1 for Windows XP home edition

    Hi,
I have installed evaluation of Tuxedo 8.1 on my pc for Windows XP home edition.
I am unable to start the Tuxedo 8.1 Appbuilder.
After looking in the newsgroup Tuxedo subject, apparently there was a problem in Tuxedo 8.0 solved but the fix did not make it in the Tuxedo 8.1 Release.
Can someone please tell me how to get the patch?
    The error:
When you select start->appbuilder from WindowsXP, a combo box asking for a IIOP listener pops up, and no choices are provided from the box. After hitting the cancel button, I get "Error Initializing Bootstrap".
I have even changed the Windows environment file to include the $TUXDIR and $APPDIR paths. This has not solved my issue.
    Anticipated thanks for your help.

To run the appbuilding application, you need to have a running Tuxedo application that is configured with an ISL (IIOP listener), and an interface repository server. The interface repository must have been populated with the interfaces you want to utilize in your ActiveX application. Also, note that the ActiveX client portion of Tuxedo is being deprecated. That means that although it is available and supported in Tuxedo 8.1, it may not be provided or supported in future releases.
As for getting any patches, you would need to contact BEA Customer Support.

  • Where can I find the Product Code for Windows Office Home Edition after a recovery? Without disk.

I had to conduct a Factory Recovery on my notebook.  Everything loaded correctly.  When I opened Windows Office Home Edition it asked for a product code.  I don't know where that is located, it came already installed on the computer.  I looked through the original paper work that came with the laptop and can't find any information.
Please help, I have much work to do.

If it came pre-installed as the full version, then you should have received the product code with your paperwork when you purchased the notebook. Unfortunately there is no way to recovery the product key from the previous version of Windows that you had installed.

  • Oracle 10g on Windows XP Home Edition?

I was reading the installation guide and in Sofware Requirements section XP Home Edition is not listed just XP Professional.
XP Professional is recommended or mandatory, Oracle 10g does not work on XP Home Edition?

Oracle only certifies the database on the Professional edition, not the Home edition of Windows XP. If you are just installing Oracle for personal education, most things will most likely work just fine on the Home Edition.

  • SQL Developer install problems for Windows 7 Home edition

    Hi there,
I understand Windows 7 64-bit is not supported for oracle 11gR2 but I installed it anyway.
    This is not my problem.
I am trying to install SQL Developer and am getting this error when I click on the set up:
Unable to launch the Java Virtual machine, located at path:
    C:\Program Files(x86)Java\jdk1.6.0_21\bin\msvcr71.dll
When I check the version of my java it is correctly displaying 1.6.0_21 for my 64 bit.
I read that you need the 32 bit one installed as well and I do. In my Program Files there is a java and a \jdk1.6.0_21 folder. In the bin directory it does not have this .dll:
    msvcr71.dll
Is that the problem, because i have heard of other people getting sql developer working on their Windows 7 home laptops but they are old posts and I'm not getting any reply.
I also changed the Environmental variable for the path, such as:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_21
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_21\bin
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_21 /bin
and none of the 3 above worked for me either.
    Any suggestions are appreciated!

I unzipped the sql developer download to C:\Windows and it unzipped fine. I went into my folder of sql developer, double clicked the sql developer.exe and it asked for the path for java. I clicked Browse and the default was C:\Program Files(x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_21\bin so I chose the java from this folder. It accepted the argument, tried to start sql developer, and came up with the same error, so something is still not right that I am not understanding??

  • ORACLE 9i Download for Windows XP Home EDITION

    Hello,
I downloaded Oracle 9i then when i try to install I am getting following error
Error: 'Setup.exe is not a valid WIN32 Applications'

I can only comment on the database installation. Oracle has now supported 9i for XP professional (no previous versions will be supported). XP home will NOT be a supported platform for Oracle products.
NOTE: There is a bug with 9i installations that the OUI will fail if the CLASSPATH has been set by installations from previous Oracle installations. Before installing 9i you will need to clear the CLASSPATH and then proceed with your installation. Once the installation is complete you can restore the CLASSPATH with your original settings.

    many thanks.

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. Now head into your Add or Remove programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click Repair.
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post (although it's for Vista and 7, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things):
