Oracle 9i Installation (Trial version)

I know that this should not be happening but!
I am encountering an error when I try to install the Trial version of Oracle9.
At the point in the installation where I specify the version I wish to
load, Enterprise, Standard or Personal, I enter either Standard or personal and I get the error
'Cannot find ordinal 115 in library ws2_32.dll'. I cannot determine if this is a NT generated error or an Oracle installation error.
This occurs at about 31% into this stage of the installation.
I am running Windows NT 4.0 with SP6a installed.

Go to cloud.oracle.com and the resources on the top right you maybe able to find a trail OSN that you can register.

Oracle 11g installation Kernel version error

Hi
We are inprocess of installing oracle 11g on solaris 5.10. Our current Solaris 10 is with kernel version (5.10-2008.03.24.13.19). . It requires kernel version (5.10-2008.10). What patch need to be installed for us to achieve this. Please advice.
The following are the operating system requirements for Oracle Database 11g Release 2 (11.2):
* Solaris 10 U6 (5.10-2008.10)
When I check with my OS team they says the currently have kernel patch ID 142909-17, which already Solaris 10 U9.Thus this Domain already fulfill the requirement

I am installing Oracle UCM suite in Windows 7 64bit-OS, can anyone say which is the release version to download the following products
oracle DB version?
RCU version?
UCM version?
Experts please advice as there is a confusion with versions and releases

Applying Paches to Oracle 9i (trial version)

HEllo,
I have problems invoking DBCA and running the LISTENER after installing Oracle 9i Database (trial version) downloaded from OTN.
I have read that there are patches such as:

Is the PC/Laptop you are using a pentium 4? There are issues with P4 and the Java Installer, see metalink for work around...
I have made repeated attempts to download and setup Oracle 9i Trial Version on my Gateway Profile 3 under Windows XP Home edition.
I first downloaded to another PC, then copied the 3 zip files to CDs to load on my Profle 3, since it was not connected to a broadband connection. I followed the instructions completely, making the 3 Diskx folders and copying each CD to the required folder. I extracted using XPs Extract (with folders), then using WinZip and had the same problem: When clicking on Setup.exe in the Disk1 folder nothing happens.
I then ran Setup.exe on the XP machine I originally downloaded the zip files to, thinking there might be a problem transporting to CDs. The install worked fine.
I then connected my Profile 3 to Broadband and spent another 2 plus hours downloading the 3 files to it. After deleting the previous extracted files, I extracted the files (with folders) and again tried to run setup. Again, I click on Setup, or right-click and click on Open and nothing happens.
Trying to contact tech support telephonically has been a waste of time. The inability to run Oracle will dramatically affect my current decion to purchase the product.
Can Anyone help????

Trial Version + DBCA

Hello,
I am working on project where a Oracle 9i Database (Trial Version) was downloaded from the internet (www.oracle.com).
From this downloaded trial version, I have to install the Oracle 9i database on a Linux Red Hat Server (Enterprise 3 (WS)) that has 3 Hard Disks of 80 Gigabytes each.
The Oracle 9i Database Server should be installed on one of the Hard Disk and the Remaining 2 Hard Disks should each contain a copy of the Data Block or Datafiles.
I have heard that there is a setup.exe file included with the Trial version that automatically invokes the OUI (Oracle Universal Installer) and the invokes the dbca (Database Configuration Assistant).
1) Is this true ? How can I locate that file ? Do I need to unzip/uncompress any files ?
2) How can I use the DBCA to do this task of defining 2 data blocks ? (managed files ?)

Logging into Oracle8i Lite Trial Version

I have copy of Oracle 8i Lite trial version. I received this with the magazine subscription. I have been trying to to use the SQL program, but I do not know what I am supposed to usefor the

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

What kyma writes works. But first 8iLite tries to open up a connection to the internet, and when cancelled by the user the program hangs for a couple of minutes before actually getting the connection.
Anyone knows how to awoid the try for an internet-connection and waiting?

Installation error message for Oracle Database software for version 10g

Would someone be able to advise why I keep getting the following error message whilst installing Oracle trial Database software for version 10g Release 2 Standard Edition, Standard Edition One, and Enterprise Edition? Link listed below : -

Below is the 12 steps that I go through, please advise what I'm doing wrong : -
1. (Operations) default is Create a database
2. (Database templetes) default is general purpose
3. (Database Identification) projemp.local for Global database name & projemp for SID
4. (Management options) default is "Configure the database with Enterprise manager, also the options button has been clicked for "Use database control for database management"
5. (Database Credentials) the options button has been clicked for "Use the same password for all accounts" so I've set up a new password, was that correct?
6. (Storage options) the options button is clicked for "File System - use the file system for database storage.
7. (Database file locations) the options button is clicked for "Use database file locations for template" Is this option correct? Other options are Use common location for all database files or use Oracle-managed files?
8. (Recovery configuration) the options button is clicked for "Specify flash recovery area
9. (Database content) nothing has been selected, the only option is "Sample schemas" should that be clicked?
10. (Initialization parameters) the options button is clicked for "Typical- allocate memory as a % of the total physical memory
11. (Database storage) no options available
12. (Creation options) the options button has been selected for "Create Database"
Click finish
I then get a screen stating General purpose, click OK then I get the following error message as stated at the start of this e-mail ""Cannot create directory"C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_7\cfgtoollogs\dbca\projemp".

So what did you do with the above error message? Did you follow up on what it said? Did you read the very fine Installation Guide that comes with the software? Did you read the section on networking considerations where it discussed DHCP assigned addresses and installing the loopback adapter?

I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium, 32 bit operating system, and my computer is saying I have 142 GB free space.
If you read the installation manual that came with the downloaded software, you'd have seen in the prerequisites that Home editions of Windows are NOT listed as supported platforms, whereas Business, Enterprise, and Ultimate editions specifically ARE listed as supportd.

SAP NW7.01 ABAP trial version installation on Windows Vista. Error message

I am installing SAPNW7.01 ABAP trial version.. getting following Error nessage ..ANy idea?
The installer is unable to run in graphical mode. Try running the installer with the -console or -silent flag.
I have WINDOWS VISTA with 32bit..I read in document for SAPNW7.01 ABAP trial vesrion, it can be installed on windows vista also..
Any one has any idea? I suspect it is error bcz of Java files..but I am not sure..

Adobe Acrobat trial version installation suggeded somehow, but I cannot save a file I have changed from Word to PDF.

The installation of Acrobat trial version for 30 days seemed to succeed but after making a pdf file I could not save it into my own libraries on my computer. In the first case the system told that the trial time is over! How come? I had just installed it. Then I tried again, but now the system is requiring a "serial number". Then it said that I can find it there and there. I tried to log in there but it did not accept my password which I had just used. Ok. I changed the password and it was accepted by Adobe. But I never got any serial number anywhere. Then I tried to install Acrobat through another way. I have had Adobe Cloud and Premiere already for years. I tried to load Acrobat through there. I succeeded, but same problem again: "The trial time is 00 days". Then I also noticed that my old Adobe Reader has vanished somewhere. I could not open any pdf files I have received and opened before. I tried to re-install the Reader. No success because "the trial time is over" !!! What should I do? Maybe I can try to ask my friends to change the Word files into the pdf-versions but I need my Adobe Reader!

Sorry for the delay. I was on vacation.
Which environment variable are you referring to?
JAVA_HOME is set to C:\j2sdk1.4.2_09.
I am using j2sdk1.4.2_09.
Only port changes I tried was
#sapdp01 3201/tcp.
I tried with and without the # .
Both had the same results.
I have given below the last few statememts from the sapinst log file
Any help to solve my problem will be greatly appreciated.

SAP NetWeaver 7.0 ABAP Trial Version installation

Hi,
I was able to install the trial version first but I was not able to log on to the SAP as I kept getting connection refused or server SAPDB00 not reached error. Someone suggested me to uninstall and re-install it so I uninstalled the program but now I am not able to re-install it.
I have tried everything suggested in the guide and other threads (uninstalling MAXDB, stopping the service, removing installshield, SAP and SAPDB directories, installing network adapter, editing the host file, using registry clean, changed source directory to the one with a shorter name, etc. etc.) but i keep getting the following error

when do you get the message "partner '127.0.0.1:sapdb' net reached connection refused"?
What OS do you use?
Is there a firewall running that might cause some login problems (including the Windows firewall)?
Does the computer have a valid network address (either of a dhcp service or you use the Windows Loopback Adapter)?
Have you started the application server properly (Start-> all programs->NetWeaver 7 abap trial->NSP-> start application server)?

Hello all i am installing sap netweaver 7.1 trial version during installation i am facing this error .
i am using windows 2003 server Please help me.

After installation NetWeaver 7.01 ABAP Trial Version "Logon Error Message"

Hello all,
After a sucefull installation of NetWeaver 7.01 ABAP Trial Version and when i tried to acess sap through web browser i get the following error:
Logon error message
Service cannot be reached
What has happened?
URL http://localhost:8000/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui call was terminated because the corresponding service is not available.
Note
The termination occurred in system NSP with error code 403 and for the reason Forbidden.
The selected virtual host was 0 .
What can I do?
Please select a valid URL.
If you do not yet have a user ID, contact your system administrator.

With Sap Logon i can login correctly. Does anyone have an ideia how can i access through a web browser?

I have done that:
and activated: 'sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui right click on each relevant service and activate it'
is it the only service to activate, because I have errors on the url : http://localhost:8000/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui?sap-system-login-basic_auth=X&sap-client=000&sap-language=EN
