Oracle 9i Release 2 and Pro*C

I installed Oracel 9i R2 on my XP platform, it runs well but one thing I found out is that Pro*C (used to be included in 9i Release 1) disappeared. Can anyone shed a light where I can find it?
Thanks.

When using installer in 9i R2, look for the 4th option and you can then install 12 more product modules and Pro*C is one of them.

  • Oracle Designer6i Release 4 and Oracle9i Unable to add user to Repository

    Dear all,
    I am currently using Oracle9i with Oracle Designer6i Release 4. Before I am able to use both Release 4 and Release 2 with Oracle9i. However, this time when I install it after a cleanup in my server. I have received the following error message when allowing a user to use repository using RAU:
    Message
    RME-00020: Internal API error - ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [25012], [2147483647], [0], [], [], [], [], []

    RME-00222: Failed to dispatch operation to Repository
    RME-00224: Failed to close activity
    Please help. Thank you.

    Hi
    I had exactly the same error and managed to get rid of it by deinstalling and reinstalling the client and the server with the patch (2083057) from metalink (I had previously used this patch for upgrade). There was no problem with user creation.
    However, I get the same error when I try to do anything with the repository, such as, create an object. So, this is really of no help. Sorry.
    Have you managed to get the installation going????
    Is there anyone who has Designer 6i functioning (even partially) with Oracle 9i on a windows platform, or for that matter any platform??

  • Oracle Applications Release 12 and Oracle Warehouse Builder 10gR2

    Hi
    I'm trying to deploying process flows to Workflow but I get the following error:
    RPE-02054: The version of Oracle Workflow is incompatible with this Control Center. Required 2.6.3, but found 2.6.0.
    Comment I found on another thread: "As far Workflow Versions with Oracle Applications is concerned, it is always 2.6.0. Workflow is not identified with its 2.6.x versioning in Oracle Applications. The 2.6.x.x versioning is purely for Workflow Standalone."
    Oracle Warehouse Builder Client: 10.2.1.31
    Oracle Warehouse Builder Repository: 10.2.0.1.0
    Oracle Applications Release 12
    Any help would be appreciated.

    May be the excerpt from the other thread is a response I posted.
    So, when you say, deploying process flows to Workflow, I do not understand what you are doing exactly? If this involves the Oracle Warehouse Builder you may want to explain a little more in detail since I do not understand how OWB works with Workflow. But as far as I have heard, it is Workflow standalone that is packaged with OWB but you are deploying into Oracle Applications.
    What is the version of Oracle Workflow Builder you are using?
    Is the steps you are doing certified to be done with Oracle Applications R12?
    Thanks

  • Oracle 10G Release 2 and OS x Lion

    I am looking to install 10G R2 on OS x Lion and wondered if anybody has had success. If so, would they like to share their findings with the community.
    I found some instructions on installing 10G R2 on OS x Leopard but those steps work for the most part until I try to start the listener at which point I get a segmentation (bus) 11 fault. I suspect it has to do with the 64bit binaries and OS x Lion, but not sure.
    I realize that I could install inside of VirtuaBox but wanted to try a native install on the Mac (Lion).
    Thanks,
    Pneu

    Can someone tell me why they thought this thread was answered??? No one answered the original question. The only thing given was some advice about installing oracle on a windows VM, which wasn't a solution for the original asker.
    Weird.
    Anyways, this is my two cents.
    I'm on a Macbook Pro, running 10.7.3.
    Tried to install Oracle 10g according to this website
    [http://blog.rayapps.com/2009/09/14/how-to-install-oracle-database-10g-on-mac-os-x-snow-leopard/|http://blog.rayapps.com/2009/09/14/how-to-install-oracle-database-10g-on-mac-os-x-snow-leopard/]
    It requires Xcode as well as Xcode Command Line tools. You will need the latter for the make commands.
    I ran the install and experienced the same issues as the blogger. Followed all instructions to a T. When I created the Listener, however, the listener would not start. That was Issue #1.
    I believe issue #2 is related to Issue #1. When creating the Database via dbca, I get to the very end and hit Finish and.....
    nothing happens.
    It just sits there doing nothing.
    I suspect it has to do with the fact that the listener isn't started. But I can't be sure.
    I'm starting to lean towards the side that Oracle simply can't be installed on Mac OS 10.7

    I see in this forum some solutions but none works for me (I´m installing Oracle Unbreakable Linux 5 x64) to solve this problem I put libXp lib but the problem is the same.
    The library is installed:
    [root@SRVAXILAB072 oracle]# ll /usr/lib64/libXp.so.6
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 14 Aug 16 18:10 /usr/lib64/libXp.so.6 -> libXp.so.6.2.0
    [root@SRVAXILAB072 oracle]#
    But I think the installation process are searching in /usr/lib but I didn´t have the library in 32b I tried to copy to /usr/lib and another crazy ideas but didn’t work.
    I read alot of post and guides for installation process but I didn´t see nothing to install Oracle in Oracle Unbreakable Linux 5
    Some ideas??
    If not..... I will try with Oracle Unbreakable linux 4 :(
    Thanks
    Best Regards

    Well, I've not been in touch with installs on linux myself for a long time, but it seems you need a few 32-bit libs. Try installing libXp-1.0.0-8.i386.rpm.

  • RH7.0 oracle 8.1.6 and Pro*c

    Hi,
    Can you help my ?
    I was instaled oracle 8.1.6 on RH7.0
    from standart instalation and I had problem
    with connection to the DB. ( ORA-03113 )
    Then I used HOWTO http://ftp.valinux.com/pub/support/hjl/glibc/sdk/2.1/README.Oracle8i
    and initialization and connection to the DB was OK.
    After then I set new path for Pro*c in config file
    ./precomp/admin/pcscfg.cfg
    pcscfg.cfg like this :
    MODE=oracle
    LTYPE=short
    SYS_INCLUDE=(/usr/i386-glibc-2.1-linux/i386-glibc21-linux/include,/usr/i386-glibc-2.1-linux/lib/gcc-lib/i386-glibc21-linux/egcs-2.91.66/include,/opt/oracle/8.1.6/precomp/public)

    INCLUDE=(/opt/oracle/8.1.6/rdbms/public)
    INCLUDE=(/opt/oracle/8.1.6/rdbms/demo)
    and if I compiled some *.pc file with connecting to the db and when I tried run this program I got results
    ORA-03113 end-of-file on communication channel.
    Question is, How can I set evnironment and

    thanks Martin.

  • Major differences between Oracle 10g Release 1 and Oracle 10g Release 2?

    What are the major changes and differences between Oracle 10.1 and 10.2?
    Thanks

    Why not look through the 10.2 New Features doc?
    In my experience, the "major changes" are almost always environment-specific. "Transliteration for Japanese Kana Conversion", for example, is likely to be a huge deal for a few organizations (i.e. big enough to justify a migration all by itself). Other organizations and applications, on the other hand, won't care in the least.

  • Issue with FRD and Forms Trace in Oracle Apps Release 12.0.6 forms

    Hi,
    Morning..could someone please assist us with this issue..
    We are trying to generate FRD and Forms Trace for a seeded Oracle Apps Forms in Release version 12.0.6
    1. We have setup the below mentioned profile option at the user level : ICX: Forms Launcher
    value : http://<host_name>:<port number>/OA_HTML/frmservlet?record=forms tracegroup=medium
    tried with this value as well : http://<host_name>:<port number>/OA_HTML/frmservlet?record=forms tracegroup=0-97
    and then log out and then tried the transaction steps again in Oracle Apps frontend
    2. Then checked at the directory location named : $FORMS_TRACE_DIR and there we see a file generated like this :forms_19136694.trc
    But in this file we could only see the generic seeded error messages...why are we not seeing all the message calls showing all the details regards form level trigger , data blocks , values etc for the form
    We need to have the FRD & Forms trace generated urgently for an issue...
    Could someone please help us as to how a complete FRD & Forms Trace be generated in Oracle Forms in Oracle Apps version R 12.0.6 & what exact steps need to be checked.
    Thanks

Have you tried to delete/rename the file, reproduce the issue and see if a new file is generated?
    You would need to logout and login again, or bounce the application services (if possible) after doing the necessary configuration steps and before reproducing the issue.

  • Differences beetwen Oracle AS 10g Release 2 and Release 3

    Hi
    Could you give me links or just write about differences between Oracle AS 10g Release 2 and Release 3. I have books to Oracle 10g AS Release 2, and I don't know, what information are incorrect with reference to Release 3. I've found this link http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B32110_01/core.1013/b32196/whatsnew.htm#sthref7 , but Oracle 10g AS Release 3 for example does not require a metadata repository. So where can I find all diferences?
    Thanks awfully for help.
    Regards

    Application Server 10R2 (10.1.2.0.2) includes products such as OID, Forms & Reports, Discoverer, Oracle Portal etc. These are not included in Application Server 10R3, which was a JEE only install geared towards JEE solutions.
    Both versions will be desupported in December 2011 so I would spend to much time on these versions. Go with Fusion Middleware 11g : http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E21764_01/index.htm

  • Upgrading Oracle 8.0.6 and Forms 5.0.6.8.0, Reports 3.0.5.8.0, Pro*C/COBOL

    Hi,
    We are researching upgrading to 10g(10.1) for database and Developer tools. The database is currently 8.0.6 and we use Oracle Forms 5.0.6.8.0; Oracle Reports 3.0.5.8.0; and precompile Pro*C/COBOL programs with the 8.0.4.4 environment. There appears to be quite a bit of information on the database upgrade. I am looking for Forms and Reports data as well as Pro*C and Pro*COBOL. The platform is currently AIX 4.3.3 ML11 and we will be upgrading to AIX 5.2.5 prior to the database upgrade. Would someone be able to point me to some reference materials? Are there any land mines I should be concerned with? Is this possible? Would going to 6i or 9i for Developer be an option if 10g is not?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    I am qouting below from the oracle 8i Lite documentation which says it supports triggers . Please clarify.
    Oracle Lite DBMS
    Oracle Lite DBMS is a lightweight (50KB - 750KB), Java enabled database designed from the ground up for laptops, handheld computers, PDAs and smartphones. It supports industry standard ODBC, JDBC, SQLJ, and Java Stored Procedures and Triggers. It provides a streaming fast "C" interface, OKAPI, to its object kernel. It also supports Java Access Classes, JAC, a fast and easy way to make Java Objects persistent. Oracle Lite DBMS now supports all popular mobile platforms, including Palm OS, EPOC, and Windows CE, letting you deploy enterprise applications on virtually any mobile device.
