Oracle 9iR2 developer stopped working on 10.2.7+

Hi all,
Ive read the other posts about the next full version of Oracle being available on Mac OS X - which is great, cant wait for a date, but for now I have been testing Oracle a lot with the following results;
1. G4 10.2.2 - Oracle 9iR2 runs fine.
2. G4 10.2.6 - Oracle 91R2 runs fine.
3. G4 10.2.8 - Oracle crashes on startup - coredump
4. G5 10.2.7 (minimum for G5) - Oracle crashes - coredump
5. G5 10.2.8 - Oracle crashes - coredump
Weve got some Xserve's too but now theyre already ugpraded to 10.2.8 so weve not even bothered to try Oracle on them as im sure it wont work. There seems to be major library changes from 10.2.7 and up which cause Oracle to coredump on startup (even straight from a clean install). This is disappointing as weve got these new G5's running 1.8Ghz or twin 2Ghz and we cant even get Oracle to run at all. I tried Metalink but of course the Beta developer version is not supported at all so they said to post a message here.
Can anyone help ? how can we get oracle fixed for 10.2.7+ or a new beta version for a G5 ? were dying to test it on our G5's and Xserves.
The error on 10.2.7+ is;
ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [0xffff832c] [SIGFPE] [Invalid floating point operation] [0x53BE2BE4] [] []

for what it's worth I am running Oracle 9iR2 under 10.2.8 on a G4 Powerbook. It seems stable. JDeveloper works fine and I can access the database from Java programs via JDBC which seems to work well. However, some of the packages such as dbms_java won't load which means some of the XML functionality does not work.

Oracle thin client stop working

I just applied hotfix 3 to my MX 7 standard deployment and
all my thin client connections to Oracle database now stop working.
When I tried to verify those data source in Administration, I
received the error "java.sql.SQLException: No suitable driver
available". All the connect work fine before the hoxfix.
My configuration is:
Windows 2000 Server
Coldfusion MX server version 7,0,0,91690
Java version 1.4.2_05
Java VM Specification Version 1.0
Java VM version 1.4.2_05-b04
Java Class Version 48.0

Are you talking about Coldfusion classpath or JVM
classpath?

Connection from jdeveloper to Oracle cloud service stopped working

My connection to the Oracle cloud using a jdeveloper application server connection stopped working. The connection worked fine for a couple of days and I was able to deploy apps using it.
I get the following error :
Testing Cloud-Admin ... failed.
listApplications failed.
Check username, password, domain, instance.
Check cloud sdk location & version: Tools->Preferences->Oracle Cloud
0 of 1 tests successful.
I double checked the AUTH details and also made sure the sdk location was correct and the same one that worked correctly earlier.

So this works intermittently without any changes ? Sounds peculiar, I haven't had such issues though there have been few occasions where the connection did not work, but those have always been very brief and rare. The only thing I can think of is some sort proxy issue. You probably need to contact the JCS support to get the issue investigated ..

Oracle OCI driver stops working after a while of disuse

I am using wl server 8.1, oracle oci driver (oracle 9i client), on solaris.
When i create a connection pool using the oci driver, it connects, and i
test it, and the tests run fine.
The Application works for a few days. Then eventually after disuse, say over
the weekend, I get exceptions in the log (the message is at end of email).
This is because it gives me a sql exception saying it cannot resolve the
service name. The database is up and running, confirmed.
I tried testing the connection pool manually through the console, and it
failed with the service name exception. But it would connect fine when i
used sqlplus to connect to the databse, using the same service name.
Why does this deteriorate over time? Is there a specific test that would
prevent this from happening?
Once i restart the weblogic server, the connection pool connects fine. But
this is not a solution, since I can't be restarting the server all the time.
Any one got any ideas?

-AyanHi. Is there a firewall between the weblogic server and DBMS? There is
a problem with OCI losing connectivity to the DBMS. OCI may be keeping
a socket open as long as the process (weblogic) is running.

CSS Live development stopped working?

Hello all, I just updated to the lated release of Edge code and while I love that live development for HTML is a nice added feature, it seems that the live development for my CSS is now not working properly.
What happens is the changes I make to the css dont automatically update of the preview browser unless I refresh the browser now. The way I set up my files currently is I create a separate css file and link to it from my html file. Any help would be appreciated as this is kind of slowing down my whole process.

Is the file extension for your external css file ".css"? Live Preview does not yet support preprocessors like LESS or SASS.
Be sure to use File > Open Folder... to select a folder that contains all of you project files.

OK solved, since I installed the wrong version of ODAC, a new key in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE was created. I deleted it and just kept the one for 10g and it works now

Forms just stop working intermittently when using Excel too

I have a random, strange and frustrating problem! I am working in R12.0.4 doing some testing, which means I need to keep referring to an Excel spreadsheet (version 2007), so I frequently switch between Oracle Forms and Excel - sometimes by clicking between and sometimes using Alt-Tab. What happens, intermittently - sometimes frequently and sometimes not - is that when I return to Oracle, the form stops working - I can't tab through the fields, I can't select any buttons, I can't even hit the 'quit' icon in the top right corner. My only way out is to close the J-Initiator window (which in turn closes the forms session) and to then re-start my forms session from the Apps Home Page.
Has anyone else come across this?

ORACLE SQL Developer: DELETE Key Stopped Working???

OK, I'm an idiot, I admit it. I have ORACLE SQL Developer installed, and stupidly changed some of the menu items under Tools/ Preferences/ Code Editor. Now all of a sudden, my DELETE key does not delete, although BACKSPACE works fine. Also, the prehistoric Windows shortcut CTRL + INSERT suddenly doesn't copy any more, although it worked before in the tool, and works on everything else in Windows.
A smart person would have recorded exactly what changes they made- but I didn't.
Any idea which Preference should be changed, and what it should be changed back to???

Error: Oracle Forms Designer has stopped working

I have read a lot of different responses regarding this and related issues but none of the answers seem to be relative to my specific problem. Here is what I have done so far:
a. I just finished loading Oracle 11g 64x enterprise on my laptop running windows 7. It loaded correctly and I was able to import my 10g data dump and set up my schema.
b. I then installed the Oracle development suite: ds_windows_x86_101202_disk1 and disk2. There were some minor issues regarding compatibility but following the advise of one post, I checked the blocks in question and the software loaded fine.
c. I also attempted to install the p5969392_10123_WINNT.zip file but it gave a message indicating that no updates applied. (I am not sure if this is the correct patch or not?)
d. I also had to download and install the Sun SDK, v6.18.
e. I also updated the ORACLE paths in the default.env and registry entries and tried different urls in the runtime preference block. Nothing helped and I stayed with the default.
Oracle Forms seems to startup correctly and I am able to connect to the database with no problem. Although I did not build a new form completely, it appears that this would be no problem.
The problem:
The problem is that when I attempt to open a form that was previously developed in 10g on XP, I immediately get the "Oracle Forms Designer has stopped working" error and Forms Builder shuts down. I get the same error whether I attempt to open a library, menu, or form.
I have tried changing the compatibility mode from XP, service pack 3 (the default after install) to XP, service pack 2 but it made no difference.
If anyone has been able to work through this issue, please let me know how. Thanks

Oracle Forms Runform has stopped working

OS: Windows 7
Oracle forms 6.0.8.13 executables were running fine on Windows 7 upto Nov 19th. But after Nov 19th whenever we enter user name, pssword, database and hit connect, it gives oracle forms runform has stopped working error. Following is the Problem Signature.
We installed Oracle Forms Developer on that system to troubleshoot. But when we tried to connect to database in forms developer, it crashed with the similar error.
We installed Oracle 11g to see if we can connect via SQL*Plus to database and we are able to connect to DB using SQL*Plus.

We installed Oracle 11g What is this ? 11g is database ? If yes it is 11 XE or what version ..?
By the way, if you install 11g XE edition, it will not work with Oracle forms 6.0.8.13.

Oracle stop working on new IE 8 on Windows 7 . If using Windows XP no problem. Anyone know how to solve this error ?
The Error is running until after user login to the E-bussiness Suite , then user need to select other selection. Once select the selection then new window will pop up then the error message will show " Internet Explorer has stop working ".

Oracle Reports is developed with Reports Builder. There is no equivalent design time for this tool in Oracle JDeveloper. The best place to learn how (and which version of) JDeveloper can be used in the context of E-Business Suite is one of the Oracle Applications forums (like OA Framework) here on OTN.

Choose a supported configuration. NO Oracle software is supported on any Windows home edition. First supported database version is 10.2.0.3 for Vista.

My wife just bought her first Iphone a 4s a fwe months ago, its secondhand a few months ago but it came with ios7. Now the phone has stopped working and is asking to be registered with a Developer Program portal any ideas how I can fix this for her?

Well, you have your answer perhaps as to why the phone was being sold in the first place - rather than being a registered developer, the previous owner probably downloaded and installed an illegal copy of iOS 7 beta on the phone and it has now bricked the phone. Some people did this and of course they could not wait to get their hands on iOS 7, but now it has been released officially, everybody moans.
The only thing you can do is try resetting the phone again. Connect it to iTunes and install iOS 7.0.2 and restore it as new and see if that works. This might help the phone but will not preserve data.
If it still won't work, then I suggest that you confront the previous owner of the phone and return it for a full refund and start again, but this time buy the phone from a legitimate source.
