Hi!
I need a couple of patches to Install Oracle 9i R2 in my Red Hat Enteprise Linux 3 AS Server. I know that they are in metalink, but I do not access to those pages.
The files needed are:

p3006854_9204_LINUX.zip
p3119415_9204_LINUX.zip
p3095277_9204_LINUX.zip
Could somebody send them to my e-mail?:

ftp://www.oorizip.orgYou would think that Oracle should put a better release (for RHEL 3) at least one that is installable!
But maybe you also should ask: is it ok to redistribute these patches? Is it ok to access these files without a support contract? (I don't have the details available but I'd guess that there are restrictions...) -

Patch problem in Oracle ISG.
While invoking ISG service from SOA client to Create a EBS project we were getting the following error:
1)
FND_SOA_SERVICE_EXECUTION_ERR:oracle.apps.fnd.soa.util.SOAException: ServiceExecutionError: Error while executing the service Exception returned from JCA Service Runtime. Exception returned from JCA Service Runtime. null
For this we applied Patch 8607523 [MERGE LABEL REQUEST ON TOP OF 10.1.3.4 FOR BUGS 7393405 7027175 6862461] contains pcapps.rar which includes the jar files AppsAdapter.jar, DBAdapter.jar & AqAdapter.jar that are required by ISG on IAS ORACLE HOME .
2)
Then we received the following error
oracle.apps.fnd.soa.util.SOAException: ServiceExecutionError: Error while executing the service Exception returned from JCA Service Runtime. Missing class: oracle.tip.adapter.fw.log.ISGLogObjectPerRequest Dependent class:
For this we applied Patch 9668283 (to fix error: Missing class: oracle.tip.adapter.fw.log.ISGLogObjectPerRequest) on IAS ORACLE HOME ,
but on applying Patch 9668283 the other patch i.e 8607523 is getting rolled back and vice versa.
Hence we are in a loop between the above 2 errors. Does anyone has any idea of any patch of how to get rid of this.
Please help.Hi Sai-oadba,
We have the front end logs and it says :

Multiple accounts on the same resource in Oracle Waveset 8.1.1 patch 5
Hi IDM Experts!
I've customized my userforms in order to create multiple accounts on the same resource using the syntax accounts[<resourceName>|n].<attribute> like the documentation suggests. That worked fine using Sun Identity Manager 8.1.
However, I've not been able to create new multiple accounts after I upgraded to Oracle Waveset 8.1.1 patch 5.
Is there anything else that I have to take into account for this new version? Is that a bug?
Thanks in advance for your help! Thanks for the reply... in my case this would be done by the active synch process so no GUI form is required. I will be getting a list of application ID for the user by LDAP AS. One i get it i will have to parse it and get the list of application user id. I am passing those ID;s to a workflow where I am forming the resource name as you mentioned
for example:
If i get user1#user2#user3 from AS i am separating them based on # using split and getting 3 different user id;s
now i am forming a string with the resource name and passing it to the sub process in which i am checking out the user object, setting the user attributes and checking in the new view.
user1#LDAP
user2#LDAP|1
user3#LDAP|2
Problem ; When i run this user1 is getting created in LDAP but user2 and user3 are not. There entry is getting created in IDM.
When I open the IDM object I get a yellow triangle (warning) and if I open the user object and hit save button IDM creates the user account on the LDAP.
any help for further solving this problem would be appreciated.

Subject: DBConnection fails from 64Bit OS to 32Bit OS using Oracle 9iR2.
Message:
Hi, I have a problem connecting to Oracle Database in the following scenario. Anybody's help is very much appreciated.
Scenario:
1. I have two servers [Say A - with Windows server 2003 (x64 bit edition) and Say B - with Windows server 2003 (32 bit edition)]
2. Oracle 9iR2 (32bit) Database is installed on B.
3. Oracle 9iR2 (32bit) Client is installed on A.
4. I have an application (running as service) developed using C++ on A.
5. I use the oraOLEDB to connect to the database (9.2.0.1.0)
6. When the application is running in debug/release mode the connection gets established.
7. When the application is running in the service mode I always get the following error "ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve service name"
8. I have verified the TNSNAMES.ORA file and the contents are valid.
9. Listerner is running fine on both the systems.
NOTE; I have to use only OLEDB. Please do not suggest me to use any other connection mechanism.
Do I miss something here?
Thanks.Basically ORA-12154 means, service name can't be found in tnsnames.ora or this file can't be located at all. Are there multiple ORACLE_HOMEs on the machine ? Is the application based on OLEDB running in a different home , NOT in the client's ORACLE_HOME? You may set TNS_ADMIN, pointing to your tnsnames.ora, as global environment variable. So each application on the machine will know this location.
I'm sure this is not a problem 64bit versus 32bit.

Installing Oracle 9iR2 on Oracle Enterprise Linux
Hi.
Has anyone had success in installing oracle 9iR2 on Oracle Enterprise Linux release 5? I found some sites such as http://www.puschitz.com/InstallingOracle9i.shtml
and http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/linux/install/files/oracle9r2installonrh9.txt. I followed these but since they are not specific to oracle enterprise linux installs, i think there is stuff missing. I loaded all the libraries they reccommended, but when i run the installer, i get Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle.sysman.oii.oiic.OiicInstaller at java.lang.Class.initializeClass(libgcj.so.7rh)
caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: oracle.ewt.lwAWT.BufferedFrame not found in gnu.gcj.runtime.SystemClassLoader
Can someone assist? That's right. OEL5 has to be verified against the supported versions and workarounds and or patches will be released by Oracle so these issues can be solved. In the mean time, OEL4 has to be used.

Migrate oracle 9iR2 database from Suse to Red Hat???
Hi Everyone,
We're going to move an oracle 9iR2 database from Suse to Red Hat. At this moment I don't know the detail about the platforms yet. I still like to ask a question if DB backup on Suse is compatible on RedHat? Physical restoring may be our prefer instead of exp/imp.
Any advices?
Thanks,
Eric

emaoI'm pretty sure (never did it myself) that there will be not problem when moving the database. The Oracle software is the same (at least when you use the x86 version) so
the format of the datafiles and controlfiles should be identical.
However some configuration files (network settings) might differ so try before you die :-)

Weblogic 8.1 with Oracle 9iR2 RAC
Hi, Expert All
I am having a problem of unbalanced connections connecting to two instances of an Oracle 9iR2 RAC db. I have 3 Weblogic Servers. The situation is that most of the time (8/10) majority of connections made to instance1:instance2 are (server1 2:25, server2 1:26, server3 0:27). It seems that the tns entry of (failover=on)(load_balance=on) is not working. :-(. So how can I achieve a relatively balanced configuration? Thanks.

Oracle database 11g release 2 installation problem on windows 7 (64-bit)
First of all my windows is not genuine, but on my friend's desktop oracle download and installation worked fine, he chose "create and configure database" options, and it works very well on his desktop, though his windows is also illegitimate. In my case, when I select "Create and configure database" option and pressed 'next",
(Go to my blog to see it with snapshots: Computer Science: Oracle database 11g release 2 installation problem on windows 7 (64-bit))
it asks to select class, I select "Desktop class" and pressed "next". The moment I pressed "next", the whole setup thing disappeared like it was never started. I searched for all possible reasons for why its not getting installed on my laptop, I used registry cleaner s/w, deleted 25 GB of data to create free space if it were the problem, increased the virtual memory to increase the space for RAM, I did almost everything to get this setup working, but I found no success with the "Create and Configure database" option
and
then
I chose a "database software only" option and chose to store in a folder w/o spaces. This way, I got database s/w only and then later I found "Database configuration Assistant (DBCA)" from windows START button and clicked to create and configure database manually. The steps are pretty much interactive and doesn't involve much brainstorming.
The values I filled for
1) Global Database Name : orcl
2) System Identifier : orcl
3) I chose common password for both SYS and SYSTEM
4) while on Enterprise Manager Configuration step, It asked me to create and configure listener in oracle home, so for that too, I typed "netca" in windows START menu and clicked it. There I added a listener.
5) I chose a Storage area which was the Oracle-home itself i.e. where our installation files goes , in my case it is : C:\oracle_base\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\oradata
6) Then after few more nitty-gritty clicks, we are set to go !
Finally to write SQL code and to create your first TABLE , type "sqlplus" in windows "START" menu and click it when it appears. A command-prompt like window appears , which will ask you for username and password, so here they are :
Username : sys/ as sysdba
Password : (its the one you created in step 3 stated above )
After this you are ready to write your first SQL command. Is this your solution to your original post at Oracle database 11g release 2 installation on windows 7 (64-bit) ?
Pl be aware that you should not create any custom objects in SYS or SYSTEM schema - you should create any such objects in a separate custom schema.

SQL> spool e:/spool/test.log
SQL> @e:/spool/ms_script.sql
Got error like ,
Oracle SQL*PLUS has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
AppName: sqlplus.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: oranls10.dll
ModVer: 10.2.0.1 Offset: 0005d6ff
I am using,
Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 3,
Have two different oracle client on same drive
1) 10.2.0.1.0
2) 8.1.7.4.0
I have tried,
Run selecthome.bat from BIN but got same error,
Run sqlpus.exe from particular home then also got same error..
So , Please anyone can have some idea regarding the same ?Is there any other error in error.log file?
What do you run in that (ms_script) script?
Have you used both sqlplus?

Oracle SQL*PLUS has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry
I have installed oracle10g release2(10.2.0.1.0) in my system
my porblem when i am trying to issue command
SQL> commit;
Commit complete.
SQL> cl scr;
then it is show below mentioned error
Oracle SQL*PLUS has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
Please can anybody help for me.
with regards,
srinivas. When working with mixed environments you should make sure the path environment variable is consistent with the executables you are currently running, and try not to mix them, i.e. if you are working with the sqlplus from 9i, make sure you execute the sqlplus.exe file from the 9i oracle home and temporarily by means of a batch file put your Oracle Home 9i executables prior to those of 10g , and the other way around, when executing from the 10g make sure all executables and paths are consistent. It should be easier since when installing oracle, oracle configures the PATH environment variable so it can be seen first in the path environment variable.
In your case you are using two compatible versions, but if the dll's get mixed there could be unexpected results.
