  • 11.2 oracle instance doesn't start on OEL 5.5

    I installed Oracle database 11.2 on OEL 5.5 . I created a instance an I want to set it to start automatic in a way described here http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e10839/strt_stp.htm#BABGDGHF. My oracle instance doesn't start automatic at boot time .
    But because messages that oracle software give it to me at boot time is very few , I tried to execute manually the procedure that starts oracle instance , /etc/init.d/dbora .
    It gives me the following output :
    /etc/init.d/dbora start

    + ORACLE=oracle

    + '[' Linux = Linux ']'
    + touch /var/lock/subsys/dbora
    + exit
    It is strange for me . It doesn't even try to start database , and I do not understand why this error : "connecton refused" .
    I hope someone , that understand what procedure is trying to do , help me understand what mistake I did.
    Thanks,
    Aurel

    Don't post your question to multiple forums.
    You already asked this in the General Linux forum.
    Multi-posting is frowned upon as poor forum etiquette.
    That post has now been deleted, since you state you're using OEL 5.5.
    In the future, if you want a post moved then log in to the site, bring your post up on the screen and click the yellow exclamation mark icon and report "abuse" on yourself. That process works. A site admin will eventually move the thread.
    ... and isn't this other thread actually the same issue?

  • Oracle 8i agent doesn't start

    I use: oracle 8i 8.1.7.00 windows 2000 sp4
    This night a blackout occurs and now I can't start the agent service.
    If I try I recieved this message:
    Impossible start service oraclehome8iagnet on local computer

    What can I do?

    I recreate the service with sc.
    sc create "OracleOraHome81Agent" binpath="C:\oracle\ora81\BIN\dbsnmp.exe"
    But when I start the service I recivied this message:
    Servizio OracleOraHome81Agent terminato con l'errore:

    And in the log nmiconf.log in oracle_home/network/log
    I see this:

  • OEM:oem agent doesn't start in case of using OS authentication.

    Dear experts!
    I've got 10gR2 and I'd like to use OS authentication (Win 2003 server). Having changed parameters os_roles=true and os_autent_prefix='' and restarted DB I tried to start OEM. Of course, I had an error of starting oem agent - "ora-01045:user dbsnmp lacks create session privilege ..." because of enabling OS authentication. But I don't know exactly how I can change DBSNMP-user from password-authentication to external-authentication. Should I create a new os-user DBSNMP? Or I should just alter existing oracle-user DBSNMP to external authentication?
    Thanks a lot in advance!
    Alexey.

    The first thing to check is that all administrator users have the "Logon as batch job" privilege under Win 2003's Security Policy.

    Its just the too many open files caused by the bug in collecting the health metrics (see Note:430805.1, 563575.1).

    Hi,
    you start all your oracle services except "OracleOraHome81ManagementServer". Specially try to start "OracleOraHome81DataGatherer", "OracleOraHome81TNSListener" and service you have created for your database.

  • SNMP Support with Oracle Agents, does somebody have experience

    Hy iam a student in Germany,
    I'am working with an Company in air traffic management
    and I'am searching for help with SNMP and Oracle 8i
    Does anybody have implemented the intelligent Agent in
    Oracles 8i to be managed with an HP Open View ore another
    NNM System?
    In my opinion Oracles Agent doesn't support SNMP Version 3
    des encryted neither AgentX requirements.
    Is this true?
    Is it possible to manage the DB with UCD-SNMP and embeddet SQL?
    If you answer to my or write an email I would be very happy.

    i read a blog post that you can deploy patches via a Deployment Type for a Application. I configured a Deployment Type as Script Installer for my main Installation (the Main Application is already Deployed) and as the detection method i used "Fileversion".
    The Problem now is that i cannot see the Patch in the Software Center of the client PC. Anybody knows why? The Main Installation is located in the ccmcache of the Client PC but not that Patch... (MSP) The Patch is from our own Product.
    When i look into the AppDiscoveryLog with CMTrace i can see this:

  • 12c management agent on repository server doesn't start following a system crash

    My environment architecture for 12c Cloud Control (Used for personal practice purpose) can be explained as follows:
    @DBSERVER: (OEL6.5, x86-64)
         - 12c Enterprise Manager Cloud Control (EMCC)
         - 11.2.0.4 database that acts as a repository for 12c EMCC
    Monitored host is on a virtual machine (VM12) that is currently in the DBSERVER:
    VM12: (OEL6.5, x86-64)
         - 12c Management Agent that monitors the host and the database (12.1.0.1)
    The server was running fine for the last few months until recently when the computer had rebooted abruptly. Abrupt rebooting occurred a few times in the past, but this time it had an issue at the time of rebooting. The DBSERVER at the time of a startup starts the OMS and the AGENT. The OMS starts perfectly, but the AGENT does not start. Upon trying to start the agent, it shows the following error message:
    [orcl11204g@dbserver bin]$ ./emctl start agent

    The targets.xml file contains the following information which doesn't seem to be of any help:
    [orcl11204g@dbserver emd]$ cat targets.xml
    <?xml version = "1.0"?>
    <Targets>
    </Targets>
    [orcl11204g@dbserver emd]$
    Can anybody provide the help during such circumstances?
    The DBSERVER repository database, listener and oms are up and running while the agent is down. The VM12 database, listener and agent is up and running. Is there any other file that needs to be checked for additional information?

    --> $/AGENT_INST/bin/emctl stop agent
    If agent does not shutdown gracefully then kill all agent background processes by first grepping for agent perl and java processes only
    --> Move your existing target.xml file
    mv target.xml target.xml.old
    --> Create an empty targets.xml file under /AGENT_INST/sysman/emd with the below content
    <Targets>
    </Targets>
    --> Start the agent
    $AGENT_INST/bin/emctl start agent
    This starts agent but without any targets populated in targets.xml
    To discover targets perform agent resynchronization operation from console

  • Oracle doesn't started when When I reboot the Server.

    Dear All,
    I have installed 10g using ASM and Oracle-managed files on a Windows Server 2003 (Second Edition , Service Pack 1 ) system . I have put no data in, and I take the defaults. It works fine - until the system reboots.
    Oracle doesn't started when When I reboot the Server.

    It look like your ASM instance is not yet started. Try the following:
    $>export ORACLE_SID=+ASM (set ORACLE_SID=+ASM if you are on Windows)
    $>sqlplus /nolog
    SQL>startupThen you start up your other instance.

  • Could not start Oracle Agent Service

    I have Oracle 8.17 Enterprise Edition installed on Windows 2000
    Advanced Server. After the server boots and tries to start
    Oracle services, it fails to start the Oracle Agent Service and
    gives the following error:
    "Could not start the OracleORA817Agent Service on Local
    Computer. Error 3221356551:"
    Because of this, none of the other Oracle Service start either.
    If you have any suggestions, please let me know.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    In w2k advance server, I have two database (db1 and db2), they
    have its own listener (list01 and list02). I can sqlplus to two
    databases.
    After i combined the two listeners to one listener (named
    listenerA) in registry, the following error occured when i
    sqlplus:
    TNS: listener cannot resolve the SERVICE_NAME
    In registry, I deleted services for listener01 and 02
    in "service in w2k". And add listenerA to service and start it.
    I found that db1 abd db2 are not started (no new event showing
    database started or altered in alert_log) even w2k show "service
    started". When I user database configuation to "reconfigure
    database" (just click next and finish), i can sqlplus to the db1
    and db2.
    So, i think it's not the problem of listenerA, may be the
    database is not start or partly start. But I don't know whether
    I have delete wrongly in registry or anything wrong. Can anyone
    help me ?
    I have stopped the oracle agent in w2k service, is it related to
    problem ?
    Moreover, when i created a new db3 with listenerB, it works
    normally even restart the db3 service.
    Thanks for your kind attention

    Hi,
    1. Stop the DBConsole. (set ORACLE_SID first & ORACLE_HOME)
    cd %ORACLE_HOME%\bin
    emctl stop dbconsole
    2. Update the <ORACLE_HOME>/<hostname_sid>/sysman/config/emd.properties file.
    Change line from:
    tracelevel.main=WARN
    To
    tracelevel.main=DEBUG
    Decomment this line, so that the line becomes :
    EMAGENT_PERL_TRACE_LEVEL=DEBUG
    3. Update the <ORACLE__HOME>/<hostname_sid>/sysman/config/emomslogging.properties
    Change line from:
    log4j.rootCategory=WARN, emlogAppender, emtrcAppender
    To
    log4j.rootCategory=DEBUG, emlogAppender, emtrcAppender
    4. Remove/backup all log files from ORACLE_HOME/<hostname_sid>/sysman/log
    5. Start the dbconsole and upload the output of each command
    - start the dbconsole: "emctl start dbconsole"
    - issue "emctl clearstate"
    - status the dbconsole: "emctl status dbconsole"
    - check the status of the agent until it comes up: "emctl status agent"
    - force an upload: emctl upload
    6. Check If you are able to view the dbconsole Page & login
    check below logs may be you can see the close error messages to solve the issue.
    <ORACLE_HOME>/<hostname_sid>/sysman/log directory
    <ORACLE_HOME>/<hostname_sid>/sysman/config/emoms.properties
    Otherwise re-create the DBconsole using the metalink doc 278100.1 : How To Drop, Create And Recreate DB Control In A 10g Database. (Please check the steps from Recreate/ReConfig DB Control, if you want to re-create)
    Thanks.

  • HTTP Server Doesn't Start after install

    I just completed an install of the 10.1.3.1 Oracle App Server. It indicated that the install was successful. I can see in the log the BPEL Manager deploying in the default domain, but I do not see any reference to the HTTP server. Also, when I do a *./opmnctl startall* there is no HTTP_Server~1.log created.
    Is there a step I need to complete to enable the Apache server to start? I must be missing something - the Apache folder is there in the install folder.
    The *./opmnctl status* reports:

    I now know I'm missing the <ias-component id="HTTP_Server"> in the opmn.xml file. The following is from an older install of a few years ago.
             <ias-component id="HTTP_Server">
                <process-type id="HTTP_Server" module-id="OHS">
                   <module-data>
                      <category id="start-parameters">
                         <data id="start-mode" value="ssl-enabled"/>
                      </category>
                   </module-data>
                   <process-set id="HTTP_Server" numprocs="1"/>
                </process-type>
             </ias-component>This explains why the startall doesn't start the HTTP Server, but why would the install not include the HTTP Server in the configuration?

  • My application doesn't start when I run the domain as windows service

    I am using weblogic 10.3.2 and i created a domain called rec_domain and i have AdminServer
    also i deployed application called myApplication to the rec_domain
    then i created windows service to run the server as a windows service
    The Script for Setting Up a Server as a Windows Service:
    echo off
    SETLOCAL
    set DOMAIN_NAME=rec_domain
    set USERDOMAIN_HOME=C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\rec_domain
    set SERVER_NAME=AdminServer
    set WLS_USER=usernmae
    set WLS_PW=password
    set PRODUCTION_MODE=true
    set JAVA_VM=-jrockit
    set JAVA_VENDOR=BEA
    set JAVA_HOME=C:\Oracle\Middleware\jrockit_160_05
    set MEM_ARGS=-Xms40m -Xmx250m
    call "C:\Oracle\Middleware\wlserver_10.3\server\bin\installSvc.cmd"
    ENDLOCAL
    the service was created successfully and when i restart the computer it runs the adminserver successfully
    but it doesn't start myApplication_
    does anyone know where is the problem?

    Hi Wael,
    Can you please specify, What do u mean by Application Doesn't start? Is it Moving to PREPARED State Rather than ACTIVE state? Or the Application Health is not OK? Are you seeing any Warning or Error Message while starting the Server related to Deployment?
    As the Production Mode is On...So I just wanted to confirm that By Mistake have u used the AutoDeploy feature to deploy Applications...Because the AutoDeploy Feature Doesn't Work in Production_Mode=true.
    After Configuring the Windows Service Have you tried to Deploy the Application Freshly? Was it Successful?
    Thanks
