Oracle Application installation 10.1.3.x

I'm having issue during Oracle Application installation 10.1.3.x.
installation in debug mode shows followings:
unzip: cannot find ../stage/Components/oracle.swd.oui/10.1.0.4.0/1/DataFiles/*.jar, ../stage/Components/oracle.swd.oui/10.1.0.4.0/1/DataFiles/*.jar.zip or ../stage/Components/oracle.swd.oui/10.1.0.4.0/1/DataFiles/*.jar.ZIP.
No zipfiles found.
Error in writing to directory /tmp/OraInstall2010-08-25_12-44-56PM. Please ensure that this directory is writable and has atleast 60 MB of disk space. Installation cannot continue.
: Success
unzip is in path.

I checked the path ../stage/Components/oracle.swd.oui/ and found folder 10.1.0.5.0 instead of 10.1.0.4.0
I renamed the folder from 10.1.0.5.0 to 10.1.0.4.0 and it worked.

  • Ways to find out modifications in base oracle apps installation

What are different ways to figure out what all has been changed ( modified ) in a base oracle applications installation ?
Basically need to find out in a 6 year old installation, what all objects / forms / modules where "modified", and not "extended". Assume that not all changes were done using a standard nomenclature.
e.g. I read somewhere, to figure out what all "new" tables were created, a sql query on creation_date in all_objects or all_tables etc may give some hint/s.
Is this right ? also how do we check for other objects like stored procs, seeded forms, other objects ?
    Thanks!

Go to monitoring, expand reports, select Software Distribution Package and Program Deployment status and then select status of a specified package and program deployment, select your package and program deployment, and then you can see all successful,
failed results and you can click and see further details. If you send it through task sequence use the task sequence deployment status to see the results.

  • Printers in Oracle Applications over NT

I'm trying to set up network printers in Oracle Applications 11.0.3 to work over an NT network. I've done Install\Printer\Register, but it seems OA doesn't see NT printers correctly or viceversa. Can anybody point me in the right direction? Thanks.

    check the printer driver screen...
each printer is related to a type & style, which in turn match to a printer driver (in apps). check the printer drive setup...
Also, check with your Oracle Applications Installation Guide for NT, as it may have specifics for Printers on NT...
See system Admin Manual as well.

For your EBS version, it's 32-bit for the application tier node -- Please see (Oracle Applications Installation Update Notes, Release 11i (11.5.10.2) (Doc ID 316806.1)) for details.
If your question is related to patching EBS, please see (Can the 64 bit version of patch 8888184 be applied to a 32 bit OS? (Doc ID 1054058.1)) which also answers your main question as well.

OK, you can find the software here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/htdocs/101310.html
(Choose CD1 for the your platform from "Oracle SOA Suite 10g" row)
Here is the installation guide for Linux that will walk you through the steps to install:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/linux.1013/install/toc.htm
If you are only looking to install Oracle Application Server and not the SOA Suite or Web Center Suite, you still use the above software but choose "Integrated Web Server and OC4J Middle Tier":
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/linux.1013/install/topo.htm#CEGEECFH
    Hope this will help.

    Hi,
The docs you seek are available through the OTN documentation pages at: http://otn.oracle.com/documentation/index.html.
Click on the link for "Oracle Application Server Release 10g (9.0.4)" and then on the "View Library" link for part B10468_04 - Oracle Application Server 10g Online Documentation 10g (9.0.4.0.0) for Microsoft Windows.

  • Oracle Application Server 10g R2 32bit installation on RHEL 5.4 64 bit

    Hi !
Is it possible to install 32 bit Oracle Application Server 10g R2 on 64 bit RHEL 5.4?
Is there some spacial care I need to take to do this?
    Regards,
    GC

May be possible but it is probably not tested by Oracle nor is it supported as error correction support for OAS 10g has finished more than a year ago.
A good starting point is My Oracle Support Note [url https://support.oracle.com/CSP/main/article?cmd=show&type=NOT&id=564174.1]564174.1, "Oracle Application Server 10g (10.1.2) Installation Requirements for Linux OEL 5 and RHEL 5". Make sure that you always use a 32-bit emulated shell (linux32 bash).

when i get to 86 % of the installation process where it shift to the link page i get an error and to continue i have to ignore several erros
    any idea
    thank you

I found the solution. I ran the following commands it worked
Any installation of Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 (10.1.2.0.2) on OEL 5.x or RHEL 5.x in which Reports is getting installed will fail with reports relinking errors unless you apply the required RPM listed below. You may download the RPM package from the following location:
As root, you can install this RPM package by issuing the ollowing command
    # rpm -i xorg-x11-libs-compat-6.8.2-1.EL.33.0.1.i386.rpm
After the RPM, is installed, you will also need to override the /usr/lib/libXtst.so.6 with the one from /usr/X11R6/lib/libXtst.so.6. As root, issue the commands:
    # mv /usr/lib/libXtst.so.6 /usr/lib/libXtst.so.6.ORG

  • Oracle BIEE installation issue: Application Server default OC4J name error

    Hi all,
I am installing OBIEE 10.1.3.3.2 windows 32bit version on windows 2003 sp2. Before the installation I have installed the JDK 5 and Application Server 10.1.3.1.0(J2EE Server and Web Server) on the same server according to the pre-install section in the OBIEE installation guide.
When I install OBIEE (advanced installation), I got the error when I specify the Oracle Application server location:
Please specify a valid Oracle Application Server 10g installation location. A valid Oracle Application Server 10g installation must have the default OC4J instance named home and that home OC4J instance must be enabled.
When I install the Application Server 10.1.3.1.0, I have change the default OC4J name to "oc4j-soa", I think this is the root reason I got the error. I have tried to create another OC4J instance named "home", but failed coz the name is used for another directory.
Then can I have another way to continue the installation? Why OBIEE installer have this strange constrain while not any words about this issue in the installation guide (coz I follow the each steps in the guild before I take action)? I have search some threads and the only information is to install a simple installation, but it would create another application server..... and the simple installation type is not what I want.
Can anybody give me some hint or information about this issue? otherwise I have to purge and reinstall the server...... Thanks
    Scott

Reinstalling the App Server and naming oc4j instance to be called "home" resolves the issue but this is an odd requirement. I have an OC4J instance already running and it is named something else. Is there any other alternative to make this work?
    Swapan.
PS. I can always create a new oc4j instance named "home" but this is wasting of server resources.
