  • Oracle Application Management Pack for Siebel 10gR4 is GA

Oracle Application Management Pack for Siebel 10gR4 is now generally available.
Go to this OTN page if you want more information about the product.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/oem/prod_focus/app_mgmt.html
You may also download it from OTN to try it out as part of Enterprise Manager 10gR4. We will be demonstrating it at booths D8 and J7 at the Oracle Demoground at Moscone South Hall, at session S291922 at Moscone West L2-2001 on Monday, 11/12 from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m., and at the Siebel Pack Hands-on Lab (S294089) at Marriott Hotel Golden Gate Room B1 on Thursday, 11/15 from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
The Siebel Pack is designed to be a complete and integrated management tool for Siebel. Using this management pack, you may get proactive alerts on impending problems on the application, examine run-time statistics to troubleshoot and tune performance, compare configurations across different environments, keep track of configuration changes, proactively enforce configuration policies in order to avoid configuration related problems, monitor and report on service level delivered by the application and performance diagnostics of user and server performance. The pack may be used with other Oracle Enterprise Manager management packs and plug-in’s to achieve end-to-end management of the entire application environment, including both Oracle and non-Oracle databases, operating systems, storage and network devices.
The 10gR4 release of this pack adds integrated Siebel Transaction Diagnostic support using data captured via Siebel Application Response Measurement (SARM) framework. With this tool, you may:
    - Analyze request processing for individual user requests
    - Analyze CPU and memory consumption of processing requests for different Siebel Server Components
    - Visualize SARM metric data graphically
    - Compare performance profiles over time
    - Create performance reports and share them with your co-worker for collaborative performance diagnostics
The 10gR4 version of this Siebel Transaction Diagnostic tool also adds support for Siebel 7.7 and 7.8 in addition to being compatible with Siebel 8.0. It is fully integrated with Oracle Enterprise Manager, which eliminates the need for separate install and user maintenance, and it runs on all operating system platforms that Oracle Enterprise Manager supports.

Working with the Oracle Enterprise Manager group to integrate closely with their monitoring solutions has been one of the most important advantages of joining the Oracle team. As our customers have started to use CRM more deeply as part of their business processes, CRM has quickly become Mission Critical, with 24/7 uptime requirements. Furthermore, as CRM becomes further integrated into the enterprise, knowing the status and health of the connections to multiple backend systems becomes evermore crucial.
Through our partnership with the Oracle Enterprise Manager, we aim to support true Enterprise-class CRM. We are the only solution out there with over six million live users, and we are leveraging the knowledge gained from those customers in our Enterprise Manager integration. With the real-time monitoring and diagnosis that Oracle Enterprise Manager provides, we simplify the process of managing sophisticated CRM implementations which span organizations and systems. If you have a Siebel implementation with four servers or more, or with integrations to several systems, you owe it to yourself to check out Oracle Enterprise Manager.

  • Oracle Application Management Pack for Siebel

Does anyone on this board have any experience with the Oracle 10G Grid Control software and the Oracle Application Management Pack for Siebel. The installation of the Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control with the Siebel Management Pack has been successful on the Windows 2003 servers and we can view a list of the servers within Oracle's OEM tool. The problem I am facing is when I try to add a Siebel Enterprise. I receive the following error when I attempt to add a Siebel Enterprise.
An error occured while adding Siebel Enterprise.
Credentials - Missing Credentials for host <HOST_NAME>
All of the credentials have been added properly. Does anyone have any experience or success using this product? If so please reply with feedback.
    .

Please log a service request with tech support so that we can track this inquiry. On the service request, capture a screenshot of the page where you defined the host preferred credentials, and tell us the names of your servers.
Btw, I take that you are stuck in the step in which you:
    - Click the "Add Enterprise" button to add the enterprise
    - Fill in the 7 parameters
    - Click Ok to start the discovery process
Which release of Siebel and Enterprise Manager are you using?

  • Note: 982302.1 -Oracle Application Management Pack

    Hi dear,
I am just confused with lots of docs :( I want to use the best one.
Is note 982302.1 the same as 568069.1
    referred to as
    >Oracle E-Business Suite Release Management Packs 3.1 (AMP-ACP 3.1) (Patch 8333939)
    also referred to as
    > AMP ( Application Management Plugin) installed for monitoring E-Business applications. This has to be applied on OMS and agents to monitor applications.
    Thanks a lot,
    Ms K

    Hi Ms K,
I would start with note 982302.1 and use 568069.1 if you have discovery problems. The latter note is a little old, so may not still be applicable for the latest release of the Applications Management Pack.
I also recommend searching for "AMP 3.1" on My Oracle Support to see what additional issues are present. If you are using 11gR1 or 11gR2 database with EBS, I recommend installing 11gR1 Grid Control and wait for the 11g certified Applications Management Pack. I have not used AMP 3.1, but had problems with 2.0 and 3.0 keeping services showing "Up" in Grid Control 10.2.0.5. It would work for a few weeks then mostly show pending or down after that. I eventually lost interest in fighting with it as I was the primary user that looked at it anyway.

  • Oracle Application Management Pack

    Hi,
We have R12 of EBS and asked to install Oracle Application Management Pack. I could see 394448.1 : Oracle Application Management Pack for Oracle E-Business Suite, Release 2.0 .
Do we need to reinstall OEM or simply applying patches as per metalink notes 394448.1?
    Awaiting ur reply..

    Hi,
I applied appspack patch 6809246 and it's applied successfully. after this I looged in to oem url and checked to see if the instance has been added under Targets>Oracle Applications. It was not there. Do we need to add databse there?I tried to add instance name and it was asking for "Monitoring Schema Username, Monitoring Schema Password, Monitoring Applications Username, Monitoring Applications User Password "
From where we get those details and do we need to add database explicitly?

  • Oracle Grid Control and Oracle Application Management Pack for Siebel

I am trying to get the Oracle Grid Control Software to work with the Siebel Application Management Pack so that I can effectively monitor Siebel. The client I am at does not have a budget for proper monitoring solution therefore, I have chosen the free alternative. Anyway, the Oracle 10G Agent is running on all the windows Siebel Servers and all of the Siebel Servers appear within the Oracle Grid Control management tool. At this time I am more interested in monitoring the Siebel metrics versus the windows metrics.. I have added Siebel as a Target Subtab within Oracle Grid Control. I have also successfully run through the Oracle Agent 10G SiebelClassPathfix.bat command on each Siebel Windows Server. What I am not able to do is add a Siebel Enterprise through the Oracle Grid Control Manager Software. When I attempt to add a Siebel Enterprise I receive the following error message. Any suggestions would be beneficial.

I have Grid Control 10.2.0.4 install and am trying to discover Oracle 11i applications. I have the white paper explaining how Grid Control discovers databases, listeners, application servers, etc. But I am not able to find a paper that tells how the Application Manager discovers the Oracle applications. Does anyone know of such a paper or which perl scripts are run?

One of the biggest problems I have run into when doing these discoveries is that the agent and iAS and/or Oracle are owned by different users and the agent does not have permissions to read the configuration files.
You situation may be a bit different.
If the host is real busy, it sometimes takes a long time to load the gathered information into the repository. From looking at your log file, this may be your issue.
How busy is the server(s) and database for you OMS and OEM database?

  • Any patch for OEM 10.2.0.5 for OARCLE application management pack??

I heard there have patch need apply to Grid Control 10.20.05 before install Application management pack into it. Anyone know which patch?
    Thanks.

I follow document 812315.1 and OAM installation gudie to install OAM 3.0 plug-in to OEM 10.2.0.5. Everything look fine on OEM server. I also follow 812315.1 and tried to install patchs on EBS R12.1 application server:
    3. Apply the following patches for Release 12.1 or higher
Apply AD Patch 8414326: R12.AD.B:1OFF:12.1: INTEROPERABILITY PATCH FOR AMP-ACP 3.0

You should not apply this patch.
Apply an equivalent patch that is compatible with your

There are many enhancements in Setup Manager compared to iSetup. To list a few:
    1) ability to create a project which groups extracts, loads and reports and orchestrate these tasks as per your requirements.
    2) Ability to migrate data between point releases of EBS. Example, you can move data from 12.0.4 to 12.0.6 or 12.1.1.
    3) Ability to share the projects with other users.
    4) You can do extraction and loading to multiple instances in a single execution.

As far as I could understand, this is a part of Oracle EM/Grid installation:
The sections that follow describe the Oracle management packs. The management packs can be purchased only with Enterprise Edition. The features in these packs are accessible through Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control, Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control, and APIs provided with Oracle Database software.

  • Application Management Packs for OEM11g?

Anybody heard anything about the porting of management packs? PeopleSoft specifically is my concern..
I have to say that I'm disappointed that they list the old docs in the OEM11g docs, when it doesn't work.

The Oracle EBS Application Management Packs for OEM11g is not available. The development team is working on it , no ETA.

  • Does Application Management Pack (for E-Business) need a separate license?

Hi, I am licensed for Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g Release 1 Grid Control 11.1.0.1.0.
Now I want to add Application Management Pack for E-Business R11i and R12. Do I need to purchase a new license?
From my existing installation there is a link About OEM -> ... License Information; I don't see any entry for E-Business Suite management.
    Thanks,

Yes, you need to license Application Management Suite for E-Business Suite to cover the EBS management functionality. In both EM 11g and EM 12c, you need to download the plug-in for EBS. In the case of EM 12c, you can simply use the self-update feature to quickly get the EBS plug-in. For 11g, you will have to get it via e-Delivery.
Here is the OTN home page for packaged application management where you can find details and self-running demos of the EBS management functionality:
