Oracle Applications Adapter - working with EBS R12 (inbound/outbound)
Hi,
Need to integrate Siebel CRM 8.1.1.5, Oracle EBS 12.0.4, and few other third party systems.
Planning to use Fusion middleware to integrate, and also use Oracle Applications Adapter.
Query -
We would like to know how EBS can work with Oracle Applications Adapter, best practices regarding this.
We've inbound, and outbound from EBS, for multiple modules.

Oracle Applications Adapter responds with error in the API call
Hi,
I am using SOA suite 10.1.3.5.
I have configured the Oracle Applications Adapter to call the payable open import interface (APXIIMPT) concurrent program.
I am passing two mandatory parameters Source and BatchName to it.
Before that i have also correctly inserted data into AP_INVOICES_INTERFACE and AP_LINES_INVOICE_INTERFACE tables.
The invoice is getting created from the oracle apps 11i instance if i try from the front end but my BPEL OA adapter is responding with
following error :-

Harshwardhan GhugareYou are getting customized error as a SOAP Fault from PeopleSoft application.
Regarding 3 responses, your send port might have retry count = 3 set in your send port. Hence you are getting 3 faults on each request you are making.
Now coming to the actual issue, when something goes wrong and you got fault message response, you need to deal with it. Means your orchestration send port will have "Response" and "Fault" response and you will deal with these messages respectively.
You need to assign MessageTypes for Response and Fault accordingly.
If you have done all above and still getting an error, check this
hotfix 978156 which is applicable in case of 2k6R2 and 2009 biztalk versions and happens while dealing with cross object conversion (datetime)

I did some more investigation to check what could cause this to happene, whereby the report toatal is not displayed at all for few selected paramters.
What i could analyse was that the records returned were more than 50 (Standard Setting) , which however could not fit into the page, along with that the pagination scheme was not selected. I had to make 2 changes to the Layout of the report
Pagination Scheme : Row Ranges X to Y(with Next and Previous Links)
Number of Rows : 500
This worked for me as the displayed could not be seen on the next page with Previous and next links on the report output.

What is Oracle’s recommendation of enabling a 3rd
Party application for Online Patching? Is this a requirement with EBS R12.2 or
is this something that can be done in phases for e.g.
Phase 1: Oracle EBS utilizes Online patching while
the 3rd Party application does not leverage edition based
redefinition for Online patching
Phase 2: 3rd Party application is modified
to leverage edition based redefinition Online patching mechanism.
I would appreciate any insight/recommendations you may have

Integration of Oracle Apex with EBS R12.1.1
Dear All,
We are in process of integrating Oracle Apex 4.0.2 with EBS R12.1.1 with the help of http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/apex-ebs-wp-cabot-consulting-169064.pdf.
After doing all the steps, the moment when we navigate from EBS application to Apex application by clicking on the EBS menu link it ends up with below error
"404 Not Found
Resource /OA_HTML/null/pls/apex/f not found on this server"
After some analysis i found the below code in "LaunchApex.jsp" for getting the profile value (supposed to be 'http://myserver:port') from custom system profile "APEX_HTTP_SERVER" and prefixing to "/apex/f?p=applicationid:page::APPS:::" is not happening properly

as we found that the custom system profile "APEX_HTTP_SERVER" not exist in EBS system. But it works without any page error if we hard code the entire apex application URL in l_launcher variable, but this takes us to EBS login page instead of Apex application page.
So i feel we can't bypass using profile value from "APEX_HTTP_SERVER" as it has some relation with EBS application session.
So could anyone please help me how we could create custom system profile "APEX_HTTP_SERVER" or any other options to make the seamless integration of Oracle apex with EBS works without any second login page

Create a profile under Application Developer Responsibility as follow:
Name OAE_LAUNCHER
Application <whatever>
User Profile Name Oracle Application Express Launcher
Description Oracle Application Express Launcher
2. Set above profile value under System Administrator Responsibility -> Profile -> System, and search for the ‘OAE_LAUNCHER’.
Set the value at Site Level as:
http://<hostname>:<Apex port>/pls/apex
Then instead of hardcoding the URL in the jsp, just give the profile name OAE_LAUNCHER that you have just created in the jsp.

We could successfully integrate Oracle Apex 4.0.2 with EBS R12.1.1 with the help of http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/apex-ebs-wp-cabot-consulting-169064.pdf.
The document says to navigate from EBS to Oracle Apex without any second login screen (works great!!), but now how do we navigate back to EBS from Oracle Apex (in same session) without any login screen again as like below
EBS User login --> EBS --> Oracle Apex --> EBS

so, that while pressing the Logout link in your apex, you wont be redirected to the ebiz login page again, and it will redirect to you ebiz menu home page back in the same session itself.

Client cannot afford downtime .. we are getting approx 6 hrs to complete the task in PROD.DBUA should be the fastest one.
What is the approx time reuired?Depends on many factors (hardware resources, size of the database, ..etc). Please try this in a test instance to estimate the time it requires to do this upgrade.

Issue with Oracle Application Adapter (11g) for SAP
Hi,
I need to call a WSDL file that is generated through Oracle Application Adapter Application Explorer from a BPEL Composite in SOA 11g.
The wsdl files are stored under the path $SOA_HOME/soa/thirdparty/ApplicationAdapters/wsdls by default.
I’m not able to see the wsdls in the Resource Pallette while trying to invoke the adapter. Kindly let me know the workaround for the issue.

For SOA 11G, in order to access the BAPI WSDLs ,you need a third party adapter service which comes with Jdeveloper version 11.1.1.2.0 . I am not sure if this is available with Jdeveloper version 11.1.1.1.0. So make sure you have the correct version of Jdev for development.
Also in 11g when you generate the WSDL(outbound service) from AE, 4 files are generated.

You need to copy these 4 files to your Jdev project folder and configure the third party adapter service to invoke the SAP BAPIs. Hope this helps.

Error invoking Oracle Application Adapter part of SOA Suite 11g
We are using Oracle application adapter from BPEL process manager ( SOA Suite 11g) to call PLSQL:OE_ORDER_PUB:PROCESS_ORDER (EBS R12).

When we try to launch the function from apps though we get:

The missing class is not available from any code-source or loader in the system.I've XXX'ed out our domain. Has anyone else has this, or can anyone who has successfully integrated apex with EBS R12 let me know what they did?

If the jsp compiled successfully then you may need to bounce your web server before the jsp can be used. See MOS Note 458338.1 for more details.
Actually, now that Oracle have updated their FND Gateway for Apex integration there are only a few situations (such as if you want to pass parameters from the form function to Apex) where you need to use a custom jsp to launch Apex. In most cases you can use the Oracle supplied GWY.jsp to launch your Apex Page. To use this jsp you must apply the EBS R12 patch 12316083 (and patch 12726556 if you are launching from the forms navigator). How to use the GWY.jsp is described in "Extending Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 using Oracle Application Express" white paper.

offers the jsp approach which I like to implement however the jsp will not compile correctly and I am not sure why - I have already fond one error with the code as listed in the document:
ojspCompile.pl compile -s 'LaunchApex.jsp ' retry ---> will not work
ojspCompile.pl compile -s 'LaunchApex.jsp' retry --> will work
compile will fail starting at this point of the code:

I am planning to install and integrate Demantra 7.2 with EBS R12. If any one has done it, please provide me the pointers to do this.

Just download the R12/Demantra 7.2 patches from 470574.1. Also make sure the Windows machine has the exact same version of the Oracle client as the R12 database. If the R12 database is still 10.2.0.2, then you have to have 10.2.0.2 client. Also ensure you install the utilities portion in order for the import executable to be there. The OAS 10.1.3 10.1.4 SSO steps are optional as the workflow components only work correctly on the Windows Tomcat Application Server. -

I am planning to upgrade my DB to 11R2 with EBS R12.1.2 with RAC on linux platform .
I have doubt can i use Scan listener with R12.1.2 EBS.
I am referring doc Using Oracle 11g Release 2 Real Application Clusters with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 [ID 823587.1]
Kindly advice me, if i can not use then is there any other method.

The doc which i have mention in last post says that EBS R12.1.3 is supporting scan listener. but doc does not say about R12.1.2. do you have any idea that can i use this with EBS R12.1.2It is supported with 12.1.2 if you have the patches under "For Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1" section applied.

How to map EBS Responsibilities into Application Role and Groups? Whether we need to create one Application Role and Group for each responsibility ? Then provide permissions in rpd for each of them? The user should have similar permission in BI as they have in EBS - like people can see only US Finance data in EBS should see only US Finance data in BI also.

since you implements the backing bean from PagePhaseListener. some where the same view is excuting before getting the selected record. Even if you select the record after excuteQuery() it will set the first record as selected. Please try to check some where query is excuting.
try give some more details like what are all the methods you are using in PagePhaseListener and where you worte u r coding.
