Oracle Installer can be used to install Oracle JDeveloper Studio 11.1.2.3.0, the ADF Runtime, and Oracle WebLogic Server 11g Release 1 (10.3.5) on your system.

  • Getting error while configuring WAS 7 Fix Pack 37 with Oracle Application Development Framework (Oracle JDeveloper 11.1.1.7.0)

    Hi,
I have installed Oracle Unified Directory 11.1.2.2.0 and WebSphere Application Server 7 with Fix Pack 37.
I am getting error while configuring WAS 7 Fix Pack 37 (7.0.0.37) with Oracle Application Development Framework (Oracle JDeveloper 11.1.1.7.0). While adding products to cell (Oracle Directory Services Manager for WebSphere - 11.1.2.2.0), I am getting below error:
CFGFWK-64069: The following prerequisites were found to be missing: Oracle WebCenter Composer Extension - 11.1.1.0
Also attached the screenshot of the error.
    Please help.
    Thanks,

    Hello,
ODSM has the following dependencies apart from ADF (both components depend also on ADF):
    - UIShell (oracle.idm.uishell.war)
    - Webcenter Composer (oracle.webcenter.composer.war).
    Apparently the composer is missing.
Important points to check when using ODSM with WAS:
    - To install and configure Oracle Fusion Middleware with IBM WebSphere, you must first install (but not configure) IBM WebSphere
    - You must install the Oracle Application Development Framework as the same user who installed Oracle Unified Directory.
    - appdev must be installed under the same ORACLE_HOME as OUD

  • Oracle Application Development Framework 11g Essentials

    Hi,
I am planning to give Oracle Application Development Framework 11g Essentials exam but I could not find any Oracle Application Development Framework 11g Essentials certified.
    1) Is this exam has a worth?
    2) What is the importance of this exam?
    3) Why the number of Oracle Application Development Framework 11g Essentials certified is less, even ADF is getting popular?
    4) Should I have Practical experience of Oracle ADF mean everything that is part of exam?
    Thanks and Regards
    Nasir

    Hi,
    +1) Is this exam has a worth?+
Its not an exam for the "ADF Essentials" edition but the essential ADF knowledge that is tested by this exam. Its the first part of a multipart certification
    http://education.oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getpage?page_id=5001&get_params=p_exam_id:1Z0-554&p_org_id=&lang=
+2) What is the importance of this exam?+
As said, its the first in a series
+3) Why the number of Oracle Application Development Framework 11g Essentials certified is less, even ADF is getting popular?+
Less to what? Note that you can run your business on ADF without being certified. However, as a partner or consultant certification certainly is seen as a proof of your skill set
+4) Should I have Practical experience of Oracle ADF mean everything that is part of exam?+
Well, luck may be on your side and you could guess some correct answers. However. practical experience certainly is the better guarantee to pass the test

  • Oracle Application Development Framework

    Hi
Am trying to run the ADFTutorialSetup (SRDEMO) using oracle 10g sql plus but am getting the message "unable to open file "c:\ADFTutorial10131\scripts\build.sql". Please just give me the privileges i use to run the script.
I logged in sql plus using /as sysdba. I thought sysdba has all the privileges.
    Help Me Please

    Hi,
the problem doesn't seem to be the user privileges but the access to the file. If nothing works, try copying the content to the clipboard and paste it into SQL Plus.
Did you type the file path in ? If yes, try opening it through the sql plus file menu

  • Application Development Framework

Is there an application development framework for HTML5? Not the generic CSS and Javascript version where you build your own app, rather some kinda framework like Flex where everything gets embedded into the Canvas and javascripts gets cretade as you build your software.

How about Adobe Edge Preview version?  It is free and you can have a basic tutorial from this link:

  • Oracle Applications - Application Development Framework

    Hi,
I am new to ADF. Can anyone give more information from which release of Oracle Applications ERP all the development would be done in ADF?
I heard that Oracle is coming out with Release 12 of the ERP early next year. Does it have components coded in ADF?
    Thanks

The Fusion release of Oracle Apps will be using ADF.
The current release is using BC4J (an older version of ADF Business Components) and UIX (the predecessor of ADF Faces Components).

  • Help on java/j2ee application development framework

    hello java-gurus,
I'm new to java and is working in java for just 15 months.i want to know more about the platform/framework which is used in the development of java/j2ee projects. To be more specefic i want to build a java/j2ee project .
-->The project will be located in the eclipse workspace.
-->The eclipse will be connected to the cvs and will save the latest code in the repository.
-->The project will have a build.xml file which on being executed
will check the latest code from cvs.
    will run j unit test.
on success from the junit it will compile the project.
It will make a .war,.ear etc file..
It will then be deployed in the application server.
So i want to make a framework of this kind.So i want help from u guys how to proceed.
I'm just a starter with ant scripts .know how to clean, build and make war files ..I also know about eclipse like connecting to cvs, generating ant script from it etc..
i'm also comfortable with struts, java, servlet etc..
So do give me some guidelines how to proceed .
    thanks

    Hello,
i'm working in project same style of what you want. here are details :
    - eclipse for development - lomboz plugins for j2ee support.
    - using subclipse plugin for svn support checkout and commit, in case of cvs i think it is default in eclipse.
    - the framework is Struts, which is a very very powerful J2EE framework.
    - eclipse plugin lomboz supports creating and deal with struts project
it also offers GUI for configuring struts xml files.
    - lomboz contains plugin for creating and define application servers and containers like tomcat and jboss, so you can compile, run and debug your code from your eclipse.
    - i use many other tools for creating UML diagrams and ERD diagram and reflect contents to existing projects.
i think with struts, eclipse and lomboz you need nothing else.

  • General Oracle Applications Development

I'm not new to development, but rather new to development in an Oracle 11i environment. Regarding the API's available to epand upon the ERP, how do you distinguish between public and non-public API's?
My company is developing a custom order release process. The decision is not mine to make, I simply work on the project. I need to initiate a credit check and according to any source on metalink and anything else I can find, there is no public API for initiating credit checks. However, when I explore the packages in our ERP database I find a series of API's for doing credit checks, but none of which is documented anywhere. I guess Oracle considers these non-public API's? To those of you who have been doing 11i development is it taboo to use these non-documented API's? Are these API's prone to frequent changes, hence, Oracle makes them non public to discourage use. Or is it common to use these API's? I'd appreciate anyone's input. Thanks.

If it is public is in the documentation.
If it is not public you have to look for api's in the database. It is your risk if Oracle changes the code (not very common but possible).

  • Where are the Oracle Data Binding Frameworks for Oracle Objects?

Oracle offers a few different options for data-binding frameworks to Oracle relational data. Amongst them they include TopLink and the Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF)in JDeveloper 10G. J2EE also offers the EJB standard framework. Both of the Oracle data-binding frameworks appear to work well with relational data but fail misserably when one tries to work with a fully fledged Oracle Object-Relational schema. I have spend much time with ADF but have not been able to create successful bindings to Objects with nested complex objects (such as a 2-level nested object) or objects containing nested tables. TopLink will not even touch Object tables.
Have other people being more successful with this? Do we have to implement our own data binding framework? Does Oracle plan on improving these frameworks to fully support Oracle Objects?

TopLink Runtime supports both fully fledged OX mappings and nested complex objects. These mappings can be setup in the code.
TopLink ADF design time however currently does not have support for OX mappings.
    Hope this helps,
