Oracle Apps 12.0.4 upgrade to 12.1.3 document required

Hi,
There is a Oracle Apps PROD instance whose version is 12.0.4 with 10.2.0.4 database on Linux OS. (both tiers on single node)
I need to upgrade above instance to 12.1.3 with 11.2.0.3 database.
Can you please provide the documents required for above R12 upgrade.
Also the instance is using spanish language as additional language.
Please let me know what should I need to take care of this language while upgradation.
Thank you.
With regards,
Kishore K.

Hi Kishore,
You will have to break the upgrade one at a time.
First upgrade the Application tier or the DB tier thereafter, proceed with the next tier.
I need to upgrade above instance to 12.1.3 with 11.2.0.3 database.

  • How to Open an Oracle Apps Screen from a web page

    Hi,
We have requirement for Opening an Oracle Application screen (say sales order form) directly from a web page.
I could get the URL of the required screen, but the URL contains an ICX_TICKET number, which is generated dynamically by Oracle Apps. So I can't use a static URL for this.
Do you know how I can use or generate an ICX_TICKET in runtime? My user will have an active Oracle Application screen opened along with web page. He want to navigate to Oracle Apps screen from Web page. Hopes this makes the requirement more clear.
    Thanks for your time,
    Aneesh

    Hi Helios,
I have identified a function to generate ICX_ticket. By appending this ticket, I am able to open the Oracle Apps screen. Now, is there in implication on the security side, if I go ahead this way?
    Function
    fnd_gfm.one_time_use_store(icx_sec.GetSessionCookie(CZ_CF_API.ICX_SESSION_TICKET),300,'FORMS_APPLET')
Anyways, I am raising an SR as u suggested.
    Thank you,
    Aneesh

  • Oracle Apps roles in BO security

    Hi,
I need help in understanding if we can import and use Oracle Apps roles of a user in BO security directly.
Requirement is that roles which are presnt in Oracle apps for an oracle user can directly be imported to BO.
We are using Oracle ebiz as a source to create our DWH and than we are doing reporting on this DWH.
We have oracle apps ebiz roles defined in erp system, the same we want to use for BO user.
Do we have to define all the users again with there security in BO or it can be imporrted directly by any means from Oracle Apps.
I dont know how to achieve this.
    Can somebody help?
    Regards,
    Gaurav

You can import users from OID Oracle Internet Directory LDAP server, and in theory any LDAP v 3 LDAP directory can be used (although a limited list or most common LDAP servers are tested and supported on our product).
You can access the LDAP plugin from the CMC > authenitcation and configure the options based on your LDAP server.

That contains all of the rules and steps for connecting Discoverer to E-Business Suite.
In order to have an EUL that understands E-Business Suite's logins and responsibilities, please take a look at the document called Setting up an Apps mode EUL available as a free download from my website here: http://learndiscoverer.com/downloads/downloads.htm

  • Oracle Apps - 9iAS : Basic doubts

    Hello,
I am new to Oracle Apps and 9iAS
I have few basic doubts regarding the integration of these
    Can anybody please clarify...
The middle tier of Orcale Apps is the 9iAS Application Server.
Read that Oracle9i AS Components are :
    - J2EE and Internet Applications (sub-components are Oracle HTTP Server, OC4J, Web services etc)
    - Portals
    - Wireless
    - Web cache
    - Business Intelligence
    - E-Business Integration
Read that middle tier of Oracle Apps has following servers
    - Web server
    - Forms server
    - Concurrent Processing server
    - Reports server
    - Discoverer server (optional)
    - Admin server
So, all the components of 9iAS are installed with Oracle Apps ?
If only some, then which are those ?
Where do Concurrent Processing server, Reports server etc come from as these are not the components of 9iAS ?
Are these very specific to Oracle Apps only ?
As the core database administration knowledge is required for Apps administration (for managing database tier), isn't the 9iAS knowledge required (for managing the middle tier) ?
If yes, then upto what level ?
Knowing about Oracle HTTP Server, Apache server, Web cache, OC4J etc etc is required ?
Please suggest some links / documents related to all these ?
I found a couple of them on metalink & OTN, but not very useful !
    Thanks

9iAS consist of Apache and an Oracle database on the middle tier.
The other components come from the developer suite.

Do we have to undeploye EJB3.0

    Hi,
It seems like you are upgrading E-Business Suite . If thats the case its better post the problem in Ebiz forum. Also post the document id you are following, your app and db release, OS release. We do not deploy J2EE applications on Ebiz Tech Stack app server. So un-deployment should not be applicable here.

  • Oracle apps upgrade to 11.5.10 produced FRM-47023 error in custom apps

    Hi,
I didn't know whether to post this in here or in the Applications forum so I posted it in both.
We're upgrading Oracle Apps from 11.5.5 to 11.5.10. We have a custom application that's registered in Oracle Applications and the modules that I've tried to run so far all produce this error:
FRM-47023: No such parameter named G_QUERY_FIND exists in form <form_name>.
    When I press OK:
FRM-40105: Unable to resolve reference to item PARAMETER.G_QUERY_FIND.
    When I press OK:
FRM-40039: Cannot attach library fis_libs while opening from <form_name>.
I've recompiled the library and the form but I'm still getting these errors.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Lorena

    Hi,
We were able to resolve this by putting the library in the $AU_TOP/resource directory. It was previously residing in a custom directory.
    Thanks,
    Lorena

  • Database upgrade from 11.2.0.2 to 11.2.0.3 on oracle APPS R12 (EBS)

Please help, im trying to upgrade my oracle 11.2.0.2 database to 11.2.0.3 for oracle APPS. i started by installing a new home(oracle software) and name it 11.2.0.3 then run dbua from the new home.it run fine but when it reaches the upgrade summary page it still show 11.2.0.2 to 11.2.0.2 instead of on 11.2.0.3 on the target database

my server is called oradsp, my application tier and database tier i running on the same server and the instance name or SID =DSP.
    as per metalink note
3.Update application tier context file with new database listener port number (conditional)
The new 11.2.0 Oracle home uses its own database listener for the database instance, replacing the current database listener. Use the Context Editor to update the following variables in the Applications context file on each application tier server node to reflect the 11.2.0 configuration:
    Variable Name Value
    s_dbhost New database hostname
    s_dbdomain New database domain name
    s_db_serv_sid New database SID
    s_dbport New database listener port
    s_apps_jdbc_connect_descriptor NULL
what values do i need to put in, this part is also confusing me. need clarity please

  • Create an load New EUL before upgrading to 11.5.10 Oracle Apps

We are scheduled to upgrade from 11.5.9 to 11.5.10 and I have 3 Discoverer EULs to upgrade for cutover. On top of that we need to create a new EUL that will not be available to the users until after the Oracle Apps upgrade. My question is, can I create the new Discoverer EUL and load the business areas, and import the upgrade EEX files before the actual upgrade of Oracle Apps. No one will have access to this EUL. Once Oracle Apps is upgraded I would refresh all the Business Areas per the usual upgrade instructions, then grant user access.
    Thanks
    Grant

Thanks for the reply. I will be using MKS Toolkit to import the eex files. My admin tool is 4.1.xxx. The main thing I was worried about was that I would not be able to regenerate the views before the import. I guessed that it would not matter as long as I did the generate views before I do the refresh. I didn't think this would be a problem but I wanted to ask.
    Again, Thanks
    Grant

After you have updated to Release 12.0.4, perform the following post-update steps to update all database tier nodes with the code level provided by RUP4:
    Application tier:
    * As the APPLMGR user, run the environment (UNIX) or the command (WINDOWS) file for the current APPL_TOP.
    UNIX
    . ./<APPL_TOP>/APPS<CONTEXT_NAME>.env
    Windows
    <APPL_TOP>\envshell<CONTEXT_NAME>.cmd
    * Run AutoConfig on the APPL_TOP.
    * Run the admkappsutil.pl utility to create the file appsutil.zip in the <INST_TOP>/admin/out directory.

Note: For details on how to run AutoConfig and create appsutil.zip, refer to Using AutoConfig to Manage System Configurations in Oracle Applications Release 12 (Doc ID: 387859.1).
    * Copy or FTP the appsutil.zip file to the <RDBMS ORACLE_HOME>.
    * Uncompress appsutil.zip under the <RDBMS ORACLE_HOME>.
    cd <ORACLE_HOME> unzip -o appsutil.zip
    * Run AutoConfig on the <RDBMS ORACLE_HOME>.
Note: For details on how to run AutoConfig on the database tier and how to transfer the AutoConfig updates from the APPL_TOP to the RDBMS ORACLE_HOME, refer to Using AutoConfig to Manage System Configurations in Oracle Applications Release 12 (Doc ID: 387859.1), Section 2, Step 3, Patching AutoConfig.
    Database tier and application tier:
Re-run adpreclone.pl on the database tier and the applications tier. Since updates included in RUP4 were applied to the system, adpreclone must be run again in order to apply the updates to the clone directory structures used during cloning.
