Oracle Apps 12.03 and dbf file under $FND_TOP/secure

Hi All,
I have a question. Back to 11i, there was a .dbc file under $FND_TOP/secure. To generate it or edit, you could use jre oracle.apps.fnd.security.AdminAppServer with the parameters.
For R12 (R12.0.3 with a 10.2.0.2 DB), the file should be under $INST_TOP/apps/fnd/12.0.0/secure right? In my case, I do not have the apps folder under $INST_TOP.
Is R12 still using a dbc file and if so, where should it be and how can I regenerate it?
Thank you,
Nayas

Hi Hsawwan,
Thank you for the reply. I found the command and the parameters in the document suggested.
Another quick question. From the document you suggested, the directory they us to save the file is $FND_TOP/secure. Shouldn't it be under $INST_TOP/appl/fnd/12.0.0/secure for R12?
Thank you,
Nayas

  • Recover database with control and dbf files

    Dear all,
How to recover a database whose registery was damaged but it's control and dbf files are still there
Notes there is no dmp files to recover after reinstalling the oracle

    Hi,
How to recover a database whose registery was damaged but it's control and dbf files
are still thereWhat do you mean by "registry" damaged? Do you mean Windows Registry?
If you have control files, data files, and online redo log files then you can simply reinstall Oracle Software, create a windows instance (assuming its on Windows) and start the database without any loss.

  • Oracle Forms can read the DBF files ?

    hi,
i have 2 PC : the first with sco-unix and a database d-base with files .DBF
and the second PC with windows xp pro and data base oracle
i want to know if Oracle Forms can read the DBF files from the first PC and load the data to oracle data base.
    thank's

    Lido,
If you can create an ODBC connector for your d-Base files you should be able to use ODBC to read the data from these files. The alternative would be to use TEXT_IO (Forms 6i/Client Server) or CLIENT_TEXT_IO (WebUtils) to read the .DBF files (as I recall, d-Base simply wrote a comma delimited data file). Using this method will require you to understand the layout of the .dbf file so you know which data element is which.
Which method you use depends on which version of Oracle Forms you are using and if your application is web deployed or Client/Server.

  • I currently have Lion, when I upgrade to Mountain Lion, all my apps, music, videos and other files will be erased?

I currently have Lion, when I upgrade to Mountain Lion, all my apps, music, videos and other files will be erased?

Lion dropped application support for PowerPC. An OS may drop or change what to use to open a file, not the file.
Of course CCC is what many have used for 10 yrs now and it is or will be $20 like SuperDuper - commercial.
Always use something like those in addition to or instead of TimeMachine.

  • Which modules of oracle apps have reports and forms?

which modules of oracle apps have reports and forms? Do I need to have strong programming knowledge to learn these?
Plz try to respond as I need to get started with the traiining asap.

Most of Oracle Apps modules come with reports and forms. You would probably need to create your custom module (with custom forms/reports) instead of modifying the standard Oracle Apps forms and reports. Start with "Oracle Applications Developer's Guide" and "Oracle Applications Concepts" manuals, it should be helpful.

  • Integrating Oracle Apps, Peoplesoft, SAP and others using ADF(Portal), BPEL

    Hi,
Our company has various system like Oracle Apps, Peoplesoft, SAP and some custom systems which uses microsoft active directory. All the system has a common User ID but diffrent password as set by the user. For now every user have to remember 4 different passwords and username(in some cases).
We wish to integrate the Authentication process using BPEL. Some thing like a SSO so the user will login into a new application(Build using ADF) like a portal, which will contain the links to all the above stated application. With this new application the user will have to remember only one user name and password and this user name and password will be sinked with all the other applications using BPEL.
Can you guys through some ideas as in how we can acchive this? Is it possible to integrate the Authentication process using BPEL?
    Thanks in advance,
    Deepak.

Why dont you synch ypur users in OPID and keep one username password there and then use external application or portal context to authenticate to all your other applications?

  • Heterogeneous Services & Oracle Generic Connectivity for dbase DBF file

    Dear All,
Can we use Heterogeneous Services & Oracle Generic Connectivity for creating dbase DBF file or Writing in dbase DBF file?
I have used it for Excel and Access for connectivity with Oracle 9i
but I dont have any idea about dbase DBF file?
Any help in this reagards will be highly appriciatalble.
    Thanks
    Rana

I wouldn't think so these days ... however, you could try posting this in the heterogeneous services - which is somewhere on OTN.
If it we me, I'd convert the DBF into something easier to use with Oracle : like XML or CSV

  • Any apps that download and save files to itouch?

Are there any apps that have the ability to DL and save files such as .PDF's directly to my itouch over the wifi for use offline, and without any syncing with my pc? It seems that any apps that i see require syncing with my pc either directly or remotely.
All I'd like to do is save a file while I'm surfing and open it offline. Free apps would be preferred.

FileSync: $5, requires you to host your files on an FTP site
    Files Lite: $0
    Briefcase Lite: $0
Each offers support and more functional paid versions.

    Hi gurus,
I have a VM (Red Hat Linux based). I am not able to start my application server 10g through opmnctl file (exists in opmn/bin folder).
I open that folder opmn/bin through terminal and write the following command
    opmnctl startall
nothing is happening... is there any way to start the server through GUI?
    can you please guide me.
    Thanks

process has been started now..Please post the result of$ $ORACLE_HOME/opmn/bin/opmnctl status
after that when I run the it from browser nothing is comming..Don't you get any error ?
for app server admin i wrote http://pcname:port/
This should work. Is port the correct one ? Check out $ORACLE_HOME/install/portlist.ini. Did you try IP address, instead of pcname ? Do you have any active firewall on your linux server ?
    for simple form run http://pcname:port/frmservlet/
    This one should be http://pcname:port/forms/frmservlet

  • Oracle Database 10g XE and PDF files

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie: l'm starting to develop my first Oracle application and l have this (maybe stupid) question: can I store pdf files as data inside Database 10g XE ?
If it's possible witch datatype has to have Column name ?
    MANY THANKS

A PDF is considered a Large OBject (LOB). You need to decide whether you want it stored inside the database (BLOB) or stores outside the database (BFILE)
A BLOB can be updated, but counmts towards the 4GB data XE can store.
A BFILE is read-only (actually BFILE is just a pointer to the PDF) but the size of the PDF does not count towards the 4GB.
