Forms not opening in Self service login in Oracle Apps 11i
Hi ,
We had cloned one instance and after the clone the self service login is not opening . This is 11.5.8 version of oracle Applications.
I can able to login to dev60cgi/f60cgi page and no issues on that . i am facing the issues at self service.please suggest.
Thanks
SaidabiHi
The issue got resolved and the forms are opened . Issue is with the tnsnames.ora in $IAS_ORACLE_HOME/network/admin. we are doing this DB clone in new host and the host entires in tnsnames.ora is rooting to old host entires. We found that and corrected to the new host entries and the issue got resolved. Thanks for your suggestions. Thanks for share solution

Online Help for Oracle HRMS Self Service System
I am looking into developing context-sensitive online help for an Oracle HRMS Self Service application. There is currently no online help for the application; all help is provided in printed and online docs, so users are having trouble navigating to the info they need. Help is needed! My initial questions are:
Would I need to create OHJ or OHW?
Could I use RoboHelp to develop the content?
Is there a reference document you can point me to?
Thanks
BelindaHi Belinda,
You would create Oracle Help, and then deploy it using OHJ or OHW.
The format of the help is the same. There is nothing specific that needs to be done for one or the other. If your system i s a Web application, you would use OHW and otherwise, you would use OHJ.
You can read more about Oracle Help on OTN at http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/help/index.html.
(Read the FAQ for more information about the choice between OHJ and OHW.)
Personally, I would not recommend RoboHelp to create Oracle Help. RoboHelp has a lot of nice features, but the Oracle Help output feature is fairly buggy, especially if you are creating a large helpset, or a helpset that has subhelpsets.
At Oracle, a lot of help development is done using DreamWeaver and an in-house build tool, called the Oracle Help Build Tool. This is available for free. Send me a mail ([email protected]) if you want a copy.

Mass creation of Oracle HR Self Service Users (for access to all employees)
Mass creation of Oracle HR Self Service Users (for access to all employees)
Hi all,
We have Oracle Human Resources 11.5.7 and recently implement Oracle HRMS (Self Service) for the purpose of Online Appraisal System.
Is there any fast way to create all employees as users of the Self Service instead of creating the users manually one by one in HR?
I would appreciate any feedback.
Thanking you in advance.

HR Self-Service Transactions - error notifications
In our HR system we are using Administrator Self Service, allowing staff to make changes to HR records for people they manage.
In quite a few cases, our central admin team are receiving notifications with subject lines like:
Application Error has occurred in your process Change Job and Terms performed on Bloggs, Mr Joseph
When opening the notification, the error message at the top of the page says a range of things, such as:
The changes were not applied because This transaction has failed because the employee's record or eligibility status has changed. Submit a new transaction.
Another user has updated this person's record. Please reject the transaction so the initiator can check whether the change is still valid for the updated record. It would seem that the cause of these is because between the HR Self Service transaction being submitted and the error notification going out, something has changed on the HR record in question.
Is there any way I can work out where that change is being made, or is that too hard?
I can see the HR Self Service Transaction via:
SELECT hat.creation_date hrss_tx_date
, wn.notification_id nid
, wn.begin_date notif_date
, wn.status
, wn.item_key
, REPLACE(

AND recipient_role = 'HRMS_DEV_ROLE'
AND subject LIKE 'Application Error%'
AND wn.notification_id = :nid
ORDER BY wn.begin_date DESC;But if I look at e.g. the per_all_people_f or per_all_assignments_f tables to look for changes made to the same HR record that the Self-Service transaction was for, nothing recent is returned:
SELECT papf.employee_number
, paaf.assignment_number
, paaf.object_version_number paaf_ovn
, papf.creation_date papf_creation_date
, papf.last_update_date papf_last_update_date

FROM hr.per_all_people_f papf
, hr.per_all_assignments_f paaf
WHERE papf.person_id = paaf.person_id
AND papf.full_name LIKE :pn
ORDER BY paaf.last_update_date DESC;I have seen stuff on My Oracle Support about "object version number" e.g. 1300998.1 says:
"This is an expected behavior. Since after first approval the object version number of contact's personal details has changed. Now when you try to approve second notification we will compare the OVN in transaction tables to the OVN in database (which got changed). Hence we get an object version mismatch and above error."However, I am still stuck trying to see what has changed. I need to find this so I can go to the functional people who don't understand why they are getting the error notifications, so say "Look, this has changed since the Self-Service transaction was submitted, hence the error".
Any advice would be much appreciated.
ThanksHi,
In the end I wrote some SQL which identified the fact that the HR tables had been updated in Core Apps AFTER a Self-Service transaction had been started.

R1208 Self Service Timecard Error ORA-01422 HXC_TIMECARD line 830 HXC_LOCKS
Hi,
After applying HRMS RUP 8 on 12.0 we are intermittently seeing this error when an employee is trying to update an existing timecard (usually a timecard that was previously submitted). The user just gets the generic unexpected error page, but FND_LOG_MESSAGES shows the error:
oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: Application: FND, Message Name: FND_GENERIC_MESSAGE. Tokens: MESSAGE = java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01422: exact fetch returns more than requested number of rows
ORA-06512: at "APPS.HXC_TIMECARD", line 830
Somehow there are sometimes rows in HXC_LOCKS that are not being released when the timecard is submitted, so the row in HXC_LOCKS has the old time_building_block_ovn, and when the employee goes to update the timecard then it inserts a new row in HXC_LOCKS with the latest OVN (without clearing the HXC_LOCKS row with the old OVN), so when they try to save the changes to the timecard then the query at "APPS.HXC_TIMECARD" line 830 selects both rows and throws the ORA-01422.
We can't reproduce this on demand, but it's happening in production several times a week. We first started seeing this immediately after applying the HRMS RUP 8 patch 9301208. Our SR seems to be going nowhere without a reproducible test case.
I was wondering if anyone else is seeing this error.
The query below tells us where we have these old hxc_locks, and if we try to update one of these timecards then it will produce the error.
Would anyone mind running this in your instance to see if any rows come up?
select *
from apps.hxc_locks hl,
apps.hxc_time_building_blocks ht
where ht.time_building_block_id = hl.time_building_block_id
and hl.time_building_block_ovn < (select max(hb.object_version_number)
from apps.hxc_time_building_blocks hb
where hb.time_building_block_id = ht.time_building_block_id)
and ht.object_version_number = (select max(hb.object_version_number)
from apps.hxc_time_building_blocks hb
where hb.time_building_block_id = ht.time_building_block_id);
The workaround we have found is to create a new timecard for the same period instead of trying to update the existing timecard, when you do this then it removes the old row from HXC_LOCKS.
Any other thoughts?
Thanks for reading this long post
ThomasIt definitely looks like code issue. Best option is to raise an SR and follow with oracle.

Oracle.Apps.Jtf.Cache.Cacheloadernotfoundexception error
Hi,
I am just testing my Jdeveloper environment on a fresh 11.5.10.1 environment. I can run test_fwklabsolutions.jsp OK but when I try to select any option - like HelloWorld I get the error
Oracle.Apps.Jtf.Cache.Cacheloadernotfoundexception.
Note 302183.1 says this is because by JDEV_USER_HOME env is not set correctly. As far as I can tell it is set fine. To C:\jdev\jdevhome\jdev
Anyone seen this before?2 Hrs, mind blowing, really difficult to achieve :)
I still feel that there is some setup issue with your settings. How are you connecting to your apps instance? is it local? Which page are you running? Look into the information in the log window for anything strange.

Script to Stop/Start Oracle Apps windows services
Hello,
I am trying to script 2 batch files, one to stop services and one to
start services.
So far I have the folloing for the stop script:
Stop services:
set ORACLE_HOME=e:\oracle\<sid>ora\8.0.6
set ORACLE_SID=<SID>
NET STOP "Oracle Reports Server [Rep60_HPP1]"
NET STOP OracleApacheServerHPP1_spud
NET STOP OracleFulfillmentServerHPP1_spud
NET STOP OracleMetricsClientHPP1_spud
NET STOP OracleMetricsServerHPP1_spud
NET STOP OracleConcMgrHPP1_spud
NET STOP OracleHPP1Ora806_1TNSListener80APPS_HPP1
However sometimes the concurrent manager fails to stop correctly and I
have to issue a 2nd command to forcefully shut it down. Does anyone
know how I can write this into my script? before it moves onto the
Apps Listener?
Any advise would be appreciated.
Thank you
SarahThe error we sometimes get is that the concurrent manager was unable to stop we have to then use the following command to shut them down:
CONCSUB.EXE APPS/appspassword@PROD SYSADMIN "System Administrator" SYSADMIN WAIT=Y CONCURRENT FND ABORT
I was trying to use net stop in the script and if this didn't work, the script would issue the command above.
Thank you -

"Running Oracle Spatial Web Services" tutorial error
Hi,
I am currently working on setting up the WFS service with OC4J. I completed the initial tutorial to set it up and everything went well. I am now trying to run the WFS demos from WSCLIENT and using this tutorial: http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/11gr1_db/datamgmt/spatialws/spatialws.htm.
I just focused on the WFS Relational features and did the following:
Ran @wfsrelmd.sql and users/tables/grants were all successful.
Ran compileAndRunClient.bat runwfsct and the feature was created successfully.
Ran compileAndRunClient.bat runwfsrel and received the following error in the OC4J server shell:
"Starting OC4J from C:\oc4j\j2ee\home ...

I have no idea where this error is coming from and would really appreciate any help if any of these errors indicate a problem someone may know of.
Thanks for your help!I never did solve the problem. I decided to try out GeoServer for WFS and am very impressed. It was much easier to install and pretty feature-filled as well with a lot of documentation. I would definitely suggest checking it out to see if it will fit your needs.
