When i install Oracle Business Intelligence Server i have this problem:
Oracle Business Intelligence is not supported on this Windows version. Oracle Business Intelligence is only supported on Windows XP x86, Windows 2003 x86, Windows 2003 AMD64, Windows 2003 EM64T, Windows Vista x86, Windows Vista AMD64, Windows Vista EM64T, and Windows 2000 x86
I have windows xp home edition and i don't know what to do!!!

There should be no issues. A few possible reasons you are running into problems:
- installation using a domain administrator (it works best using a local admin);
- firewalls or anti-virus software or other port blocking mechanisms;
- DHCP resets;
However, unless you tell us exactly the symptoms we are only guessing.

Oracle 9i Enterprise Edition error log

I tried to install Oracle 9i Enterprise Edition twice on Windows XP Home Edition and Windows XP Professional Edition. Both times, the installation completed successfully according to the Installer, but within 2 hours, the disk drive was full. Shutting down the Oracle processes and services did not stop the disk space accumulation. The error log in the directory \oracle\ora92\Apache\Apache\logs was being written to until all the disk space was gone. The messages said that isqlplus server terminated with exit with status 337296 and then isqlplus server restarted. The writing to the error log did not stop until Oracle 9i was uninstalled, after XP gave a message disk space was very low. What is the meaning of the error status 337296, and why does the same error repeatedly get written to the error log until the disk is full??

From a shell window within X Windows, type
oemapp dbastudio
and it should launch the main tool.

In this forum only I have heard that people have found a way by putting a parameter in the win.ini file.A friend of mine tried it similarly but for him it is by default launching the Oracle8i client installation and not the server installation.Is there a way server installation can be done for Windows Millennium using Oracle 8i Enterprise Edition Release2(8.1.6)

Uninstalling oracle 10g enterprise edition from windows vista

HI There,
I want to uninstall oracle 10g enterprise edition from windows vista home premium edition. I have uninstalled it using oracle universal installer and then deleted folder from program files. But I am unable to delete the main folder i.e. D>Oracle..
It is displaying error message 'access denied' Please suggest me on this issue.. How can I delete that one so that I can instal it again. I would be really grateful.

Well, after looking around the forum here I found an answer that works! I wish I could remember who to give credit too though. I installed the latest Vista drivers and I got static all the time. I tried another members suggestion of disabling the X-Fi device in the Device manager every time I log off and then enable the X-Fi the next time I log in. I have great sound as long as I do that. Also, for connecting to a home system I am using the DTS-60, $00 on this website, but it works well if you havea DTS decoder. I am using the X-Fi extreme Music edition. Good Luck, hopefully another driver is on the way.

I want to install the Oracle BI Enterprise Edition in order to use it (Segmentation) from Siebel Marketing.
To ensure the correct cooperation, between oracle BI and siebel Marketing, i have to follow some particular procedure?? or i can install Oracle BI normally and after set correctly some parameter in siebel marketing/oracle BI??
If the answer is PARTICULAR...... WHAT??

For the OBIEE platform itself it's irrelevant whether you use Siebel Marketing or not. The differences are
a) within Siebel - i.e. the administration screens
b) within the BIEE rpd - i.e. the Marketing metadata objects

Oracle 8i Enterprise Edition Rel 2 (8.1.6) Installation on Windows2000

I tried to install Oracle 8i Enterprise Edition Rel 2 (8.1.6) on Windows 2000 Professional on Dell Desktop Pentium 4 (1.4GHz) with RDRAM. After inserting the CD the Autorun screen comes up but when I click on 'Install/Deinstall Product' button, the next screen of Oracle Universal Installer does not appear and nothing happens after that. I cannot go ahead with the installation. Please let me know the solution.

Oracle 8i Enterprise Edition installation

As an OTN member. I had asked for free JDeveloper CD. Oracle corporation has
sent me JDeveloper and Oracle 8i Enterprise Edition release 2 version 8.1.6
for Windows NT/2000.
I am a programmer. I want to use oracle 8i to learn oracle RDBMS.
When I try to install Oracle 8i it says installing oracle client. It gives me
options of administrator, programmer, user and custom. It installs oracle
client successfully. But oracle server is missing. So I can not connect to
server and do any database function. Please help me on this.
Let me know if on a standalone PC with Windows 98 installing Oracle 8i client
is enough. If not How do I get another software. If I am making any mistake please let me know.
I think I should have either Oracle personal edition or Oracle server edition

Oracle 8i Enterprise Edition 8.1.6 not installing on Pentium-IV Mahcine

We have Legal version of Oracle 8i Enterprise Edition 8.1.6 & we are trying to install the same on Pentium-IV Mahcine with Specification M/B ODSSY 82845, CPU - 1.4 GHZ, 128 MB RAM, 40 GB HDD. But it not installing and also not showing any error. Please guide.

Another method to solve this problem:
0. Be sure you have not installed another JVM which version is less than 1.2 on your machine.
1. Copy all files & folders on the installation CD into a temporary folder
2. Search all symtjit.dll in that folder & its sub-folders
3. Rename all found files to another name, like symtjit.dl~
4. Run the setup program in that folder

I got an error: "An error during runtime." when I try to install Oracle 8i Enterprise Edition (8.1.6) on a Windows NT Workstation Machine, could anyone tell me why it happens?

You can set up the Enterprise Edition on either, and you can create databases with either.(The Oracle installation program installs the scott/tiger example databases.) What I haven't tried, and what you probably need the server version for, is an actual server running a real commercial database. If you are just a student and want to run EE to learn it, go for it. That is what I am doing.

i have thi problem. When I run installation from Oracle 8i
Enterprise Edition (Release 8.1.5) just install maybe half of
all database. Some problem with memory (like no free memory in
computer.) But why if I have 64Megs of ram ?!

It should be a problem whith Java on Linux ... The blackdown guys
says that the gc doesn't work "perfectly" on Linux ... If you
look at the process size while the installation, it starts to
grow bigger and bigger, etc ...
Take a look at your swap size, or try the green threads, or
another version of the jvm : I installed 8i whith java v1.1.7v3,
green threads.

Unable to install Oracle 8i Enterprise edition on Win2k Professional

Hi,
I upgraded windows98 with Win2k Professional.
When i try to install Oracle 8i Enterprise edition from CD on Win2k Professional, i am get the following message:
The Java Run time environment was not found at
../stage/components/oracle/swd/jre/1.1.7/1/DataFiles/Expanded\win32\bin\jrew.exe Hence oracle universal installer cannot be run.
I would appreciate if anyone could get back to me with the easy steps to the above problem.

Try remove installed JRE1.1.8 BEFORE installation of Oracle. May be it can't remove old installation.
PS Check downloaded distrib - some jars may be spoiled.

I opened deinstall.pl with vi and jumped to line 217. There is nothing in line 217. Its the end of file. In line 216 is the following command:
