Oracle BI Publisher 11g - APEX compatiblity matrix

Hi
I'm looking for information regarding Oracle BI Publisher 11g's compatibility with APEX versions.
Can the Oracle BI Publisher 11g product fully integrate with APEX 3.x or will it need a minimum APEX 4.x to work seamlessly?
Thanks
Kind Regards
Greg

Hello, Ken
Maybe you can give me some directions about Oracle BI publisher 11g installation for Apex 4.0 with Database 11g (using Configuring the Embedded PL/SQL Gateway) on 64 bit Windows 2008. The document number E10539-01 is very confusing to me. BI publisher v10.1.3.4.1 is much simpler.
Thanks in advance.

  • Oracle BI Publisher 11g Enterprise

Kelly, I believe you said in another thread "Your PLM4P license includes a free limited use license for BI Publisher".
So, we can download Oracle BI Publisher 11g Enterprise and hook it up to PLM4P for free?
And what is meant when you say 'limited use"?
    Thanks,
    Trey

That's correct, PLM4P includes a limited use license for BI Publisher.  The limited use means you can only use it to report from the core PLM4P database, once you need it for different data you will need to purchase licenses.  You can reach out to your sales rep for the exact license verbiage and restrictions.  We offer out of the box reports in the extensibility pack, instructions and details can be found in the EP 3.5 report guide.

  • Oracle BI Publisher with apex 3.1

    Hi,
The Oracle BI publisher software is installed on the server and the apex database schema connection details are provided to generate the PDF reports. This apex schema has all the database objects created.
I have a small question regarding the schema. Is it better to create a new schema for the Oracle BI publisher?where will be the templates created via BI publisher stored? When a RTF template is created from windows doc by logging in to the BI publisher, will it create any tables in the schema on the database side?
Please suggest any document on how to effectively maintain the Oracle BI publisher.
    Thanks

APEX is only using BI Publisher to transform the XML data of your report and the template you provide into PDF, Word or Excel. For this, APEX sends the XML data and the template to BI Publisher, and BI Publisher sends back to completed document. So there's nothing stored in BI Publisher, all templates, report definitions, etc are stored in the APEX schema. This has the advantage that you can reference item values and other information in your print documents, and it also ensures that you don't have to access the database again from within BI Publisher, i.e. you don't need to communicate any authentication information to BI Publisher.
Of course BI Publisher itself also provide the ability to store reports and to store templates. But those are not accessible from APEX through the built-in integration. You can however use the same templates you use for BI Publisher directly on load them into APEX for use there.
Lastly, if you want to use and print reports in both BI Publisher and your APEX applications, you can do that through web services, take a look at Tyler Muth's BLOG for more information on this topic:

  • Oracle BI Publisher 11g - Known Data Model Limitations

    Hi
I'm new to BI Publisher 11g. I'm attempting to find out what the known limitations of BI Publisher 11g are.
In particular, I would like to know the maximum number of queries allowed per data model or if a report may be based on multiple data models.
    Scenario:_
My organization requires an electronic reporting book (PDF document) effectively consisting of *40-50* data tables and graphs. Someone has sold the idea to IT and the business that BI Publisher as the tool that deliver this type of functionality. Having used the tool now for the last couple of days, it's starting to look it's not the case.
How do i achieve my ultimate goal of combining disparate report output into 1 huge document?
Do I develop each reporting section as a separate data model/report pairs outputting XML files and then combine all XML files into 1 target document?
If anyone can please give me some advice on how to go about this, it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Greg

This is related to browser, try it in some other browser.or else check ur bi publisher settings and data source configurations. Mostly his wil happen if u changed some thing in blaf rich plus.css changes

  • Oracle BI Publisher 11g Trial Edition installation for AIX

Can I install BI Publisher Trial Edition 11g for Linux 32 and 64 bit on AIX with Unix operating system?
If cannot, any option or solution? Oracle provide BI Publisher 10.1.3.4.2 for AIX (32/64 bit) for 10g,
    what about 11g?

No, the Trial Edition is not supported. You need to install and configure the full BIP 11.1.1.5 version.

  • Substract 3 monts to a date in oracle bi publisher 11g

    Hey forum
I need to create a sql query data set that groups my info by fiscal year.
what I'm having on my data set sql query editor right now is something like
select YEAR ("Credit Memo"."Cm Fecha Creacion") as yearGroup
    from .................
and I'm using this field for my grouping.
the problem is that my fiscal years go from apr to apr.
so i would need something like select YEAR ("Credit Memo"."Cm Fecha Creacion" - 3 monts) as yearGroup
this will pull those rows from jan,feb and march to the last year. for example YEAR(02/02/2011 - 3 monts) = 2010
I've tried things like YEAR ("Credit Memo"."Cm Fecha Creacion" - "Credit Memo"."Cm Fecha Creacion") but it happens
that i cannot subtract from a date on the sql publisher editor.
I've spent several hours browsing and googling without any sucess :(
I can't even find a list of date functions (like the "YEAR" function i'm using) for publisher sql editor. This would help a lot because maybe I can figure out some sort of alternative solution.
Any help will be SUPER welcomed
    Thanks!

Thanks so much for your help!
I've used add_months against oracle databases without any problem
Sadly this publisher sql editor is not taking the same functions as a regular sql + command line :(
Do you have any other idea?
    Thanks!

  • Oracle BI Publisher no columns loaded from data model

    Hello Guys,
I use Oracle BI Publisher 11g. Have created a data model by using
the JDBC thin connection to a 11g database. The creation of the data model
worked fine using a SQL query. Now in the report creation wizard, I select
the "guide me" option to see how nice the wizard is.
The problem comes here, on the second window I should select the columns
but I only read "no columns available". Why is that?

    Hi Metalray
For BIP report sample XML data is importent. with sample data you cannot generate the BIP reports.
Follow the below steps, you can achieve your expected BIP output
After crating data set in the data medel save the data model then click on
--get XML output option on right side of the top-corner.
-- then selet no. for the nuber of rows to return dropdown option,
--then click on Run. Then save the sample data by clicking on Save as sample data option.
--then it will take you to the data model page, now again save the data model
--and use it for creating the reports.
Now you were able to see the available columns in the the second window of guide me option
please mark if it helps you..

  • Oracle 11g XE not working with oracle BI publisher 10g after enabling ACL

    Hello,
I previously work with oracle 10gXE and Oracle BI publisher 10g and it work fine. now i install oracle 11g XE and try to configure it with oracle Bi Publlisher, it show this error
"ORA-29273: HTTP request failed ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_HTTP", line 1324 ORA-12570: TNS:packet reader failure" after runing the ACL package to neable network service.
    on the database.
Please can any body tell be why this is not working. Tanx.

You'll need to add the apex engine owner to the ACL (Access Control List). Depending on your version of apex the user name varies. i.e. 4.0 is APEX_040000
See Joel's blog for info about the ACL and APEX.

    hi all,
Can someone point me to Oracle 11g client certification matrix? I was trying to install it on Windows Server 2008R2, but looks like this platform is unsupported. If I manually verify the options the installer thinks are unsafe, will I create an unsupported environment?

  • Integration of Oracle BI Publisher with OBIEE 11G

    Hi, all.
I want to know How to Integration of Oracle BI Publisher with OBIEE 11G?
Because I can't create data set using Oracle BI Analysis now, and the analyses and dashboards in BIEE presentation catalog is unvisible. Why?
    Thank you.

I may be missing something, but BI Publisher Enterprise is installed at the same time as when you install BIEE on the server. You wouldn't install BI Publisher Desktop on that server. You can use BI Publisher Desktop locally to create templates for use in BI Publisher Enterprise.
I'm much more familiar with XML (BI) Publisher as part of Oracle Apps moreso than BIEE, so I could be wrong in my assessment.
    Hope that helps,
    Brett
