Oracle bi publisher installation challenge
Hello All;
I am using a vista business sp2 machine and have installed oracle 10g xe and apex 4.0.1
I need to install oracle bi publisher 10.1.3.41 to enable reporting on apex. However, the installation crashes when I attempt this. The OUI does not even display, just cmd window which says preparing to launch oracle universal installer, then a microsoft windows dialog that says setup.exe has stopped working and windows will close program and notify when a solution is available.
Can anyone help urgently? Any assistance welcome.
Benedict.
Sine this seems to be a BI PUBLISHER related question and not an APEX specific question, could you please post this to the BI PUBLISHER support forum??
Thank you,
Tony Miller

Oracle Bi publisher installation on windows box
Hi,
The oracle BI publisher is installed in one of the test servers. The jdk1.6.0_06 is used for this installation. The installation was successfully completed and the
oracle bi publisher is started by means of a command prompt window which shows the status of it.Now when i logoff from server, the command prompt window display is also shutdown thereby also shutting down the BI publisher.
We want to make the BI publisher available for 24/7 and so what approach we need to adopt so that it can be created as a windows service so that we can have the option of startup/shutdown? The operating system is windows 2003?Does creating the OC4J service is adopted by means of the windows utilities?
ThanksHi
Just a quick google reveals a bunch of info on setting up OC4J as a windows service. this article looked prmising
http://radio.weblogs.com/0132383/stories/2004/04/28/oc4jAsAWindowsService.html
I'll try and write this up for the blog.

A good tutorial for Oracle BI Publisher
Hi,
I am new to BI Publisher. I'm using JDeveloper 10.1.3.2 and want to build reports in it. I found BI Publisher a good tool for building reports, based on its features on OTN and now I want a good working tutorial for using it. Is there anything?
Thanks,
S/\EE|)Hi Saeed, a good starting point would be the BI Publisher user guide. Please check the link for the documentation on the latest release: http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/bi_pub.html
Also when you install the desktop installation, you will find some sample template and XML data at - "C:\Program Files\Oracle\BI Publisher\BI Publisher Desktop\samples" or the path where you installed it.
In case you plan to use APIs, sample codes are available in the user guide. And if you are in EBS environment, I am sure you will like the blog link maintained by Tim on how to get started with APIs: http://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/newsItems/departments/xmlpForEBusinessSuite/2007/03/12 -
Oracle BI Publisher 11g - APEX compatiblity matrix
Hi
I'm looking for information regarding Oracle BI Publisher 11g's compatibility with APEX versions.
Can the Oracle BI Publisher 11g product fully integrate with APEX 3.x or will it need a minimum APEX 4.x to work seamlessly?
Thanks
Kind Regards
GregHello, Ken
Maybe you can give me some directions about Oracle BI publisher 11g installation for Apex 4.0 with Database 11g (using Configuring the Embedded PL/SQL Gateway) on 64 bit Windows 2008. The document number E10539-01 is very confusing to me. BI publisher v10.1.3.4.1 is much simpler.
Thanks in advance.
