I have been messing around with the business intelligence EE server and feel fairly comfortable with it and publisher as well. My manager is wanting to know if there is a way to link forms like for example: we generate a report with sql and then the user would be able to enter information like item number, etc and it would pull back the data. I know you can export a sql query to analyzer in excel and sort the data but I cant seem to find a way to use forms. Our company is using hyperion and I know you can interface with that but my manager does want to use that for what he wants to do.

The link for the tutorial for OBIEE suite is, http://download.oracle.com/technology/products/bi/demos/FoundationSuite/LessonIndex.htm
Unfortunately, the link for Lesson 2 in this tutorial doesn't work. Could anyone help me on this? Or who should I contact to solve this issue?

The problem seems to be a malfunctioning Flash program, not any issue with retrieving such program.
Thus this is an errata issue.

  • Oracle Business Intelligence Standard Edition 1 download?

    Hi,
Apologies in advance if this is a daft question but could someone point me in the direction of the download link for Oracle Business Intelligence Standard Edition 1 11G for Windows 64bit?
The white paper below dated 2010 eludes to there being an 11g version of this software but the download site only has 10g:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-foundation/obi-se1-11g-wp-187262.pdf
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/ias/downloads/101321biseone-095993.html
I downloaded the Enterprise edition 11g in the vain hope that the installer would have an option for installing standard edition 1, which it didn't.
This is a stupid problem to have but a problem nonetheless.
    All help gratefully received.
    David.

Am I correct in saying that the Simple Install is Standard Edition 1? It doesn't say that anywhere (unless I'm missing it).Simple install is like a standard installation, less input is required from you.
Oracle Business Intelligence Standard Edition 10g docs/downloads can be found at:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-standard-edition/downloads/index.html
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-standard-edition/overview/index.html
From http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/bi-foundation/obi-se1-11g-wp-187262.pdf you can see the following:
The 10g version of BI SE One included a special installer and documentation tailored to the specific components that were available in 10g. For the 11g version of BI products, Oracle does not plan to release a special installer for BI SE One.
    Thanks,
    Hussein

  • Want to work on Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Manager

    Hi,
I have installed OBIEE 11g( 11.1.1.5.0) on Windows 32Bit system.
Now i want to work on Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Manager. Can anybody help me out as I am new in OBIEE11g.
Actually I am trying to edit NQSConfig file and set a default repository other than "SampleAppLite_BI0001.rpd", let say "abc.rpd". But when I restart services, It changes default rpd to "SampleAppLite_BI0001.rpd" only.
    Need guidance..
    Thanks,
    Archie.

    Hi,
At any time, only one repository can be loaded for access by a BI presentation Server instance. So One repository must be specified as DEFAULT. If multiple repositories are specified as DEFAULT, then the last one listed will become DEFAULT.
So, please keep "abc.rpd" as the last repository in the list and mark it as DEFAULT.
    e.g: Star = abc.rpd, DEFAULT;
    Hope it helps.

  • Oracle business intelligence enteprise edition

    hi
i have installed an oracle OBIEE client in my local machine, created successfully an ODBC connection to an oracle DB. when i try to connect, create repository an import metadata from the Oracle Bi admin tool im getting error message . connection failed.
    kindly help
Edited by: nobea on Nov 8, 2011 1:09 AM

This forum is for general database questions. But possibly you really have a general connection problem. So before working with OBIEE you should
    1) ping the target host
    2) tnsping the listener
    3) connect through sqlplus to the database
If all that work move to
    Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition

  • Oracle Business Intelligence Standard Edition on OEL5

    Dear all,
I am testing whether we can install BI SE Server on OEL5.
I installed all the default RPMs for the 10g RDBMS but it appears that the BI server installation requires more:
    pdksh-5.2.14-21
    gnome-libs-1:1.4.1.2.90-34.1
    compat-libstdc++-7.3.2.96.128
    compat-libstdc++-devel-7.3-2.96.128
I can't find them on the CDs and I can't find them in any RPM repositories (we're trialing OEL and CentOS at the moment and the CentOS YUM repository doesn't have them).
Does anyone know what I should do to create a OEL 'build' for Oracle BI SE? Has anyone else managed to do it?
    TIA

Following this weblink, http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/B19313_01/toc.htm, RHEL5/EL5 is not in supported platform list.

  • Oracle BI Enterprise Edition Plus Requirements

    Hi
Need guidance on advisory regarding Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition Plus.
Will the following implementation of 11i EBusiness Suite be supported for OBIEE Plus platform ?
    Oracle Applications 11.5.9
OracleDatabase 9.2.0.6 Real Application Cluster (RAC)
Does OBIEE Plus require hardware platform separate from the 11i hardware. Any recommendations how many servers/cpus are needed as minimum install
Any guide exists for OBIEE Plus with the system requirements stated ?

    Hello Rohith,
what's the OS that your laptop is running?
If you're using MS Windows, go 'Start' -> 'All programs' -> 'Oracle Business Intelligence'. Then you'll see all functionality that OBIEE gives to you. One of them is 'Stop OC4J'. Right click on then and choose 'Properties'.
You'll see something like that in the 'Target' field:
"JAVA_HOME\bin\java.exe" -jar ORACLE_BI_HOME\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\admin.jar ormi://localhost:23791 USER PASSWORD -shutdown force
Use this USER and PASSWORD to uninstall your OBIEE application.

  • Need help in Customization in Oracle Business Intelligence.

    Hi Guru,
I am working on ODI to customize Oracle Business Intelligence ( Category 1 and Category 2 Customization ). I need comprehensive / detail documentation on "OBI Customization" and "RPD Modification" . Kindly help and advice.
    I use OBIEE 11.1.1.7.1 and ODI 11.1.1.7.0.
    Thanks

    Hello Arshad,
Thanks for signing you post. It would be easier if you changed your forum handle to your name for communication purposes.
So I did understand you correctly Ijust wasn't aware that Oracle still uses this somewhat arbitrary wording. Anyways as I said you're looking for a How-To on customizing Oracle BI Applications which means learning how to work with OBIEE and how to work with ODI.
To have and read the documentation isn't bad - the new one is here by the way: Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition Documentation - but places like the Learning Library I posted are a good place as well since your questions are potentially very vast.
In general for what you call Cat1 changes it's all about
    - finding the source of your new column in a source system or calculating it in the ELT if it is a derived column
    - adding it to your physical schema of the target database
    - adjusting your ELT processes to fill it
    - import the new column into the RPD physical layer or create it manually
    - map it to a new logical column in a logical table in the business model
    - expose it in the presentation layer
Cat2 is more of the same but you also need to integrate it into your physical model (both actual physical model in the database and the physical model metadata of the RPD) in terms of joins etc and your ELT-work becomes a lot more extensive (table construction, key resolution, SCDing, partitioning, indexing,..........).
As you can see there's a lot of things to cover so we can't just "give you an answer". You're basically touching topics which take time to learn and assimilate and to just jump in and start doing isn't necesssarily somehting I'd suggest. Best take a training course on OBIA since otherwise you may implicitely "just do" things because you were told so in here or by someone and you'll never see and be able to comprehend the underlying concepts and techniques.

  • Install Oracle Business Intelligence Admininstrator

Sorry, I'm new in Business Intelligence.
I installed the Business Intelligence santandard edition, [CD1|http://download.oracle.com/otn/nt/ias/101202/as_windows_x86_bi_101202_disk1.zip] and [CD2|http://download.oracle.com/otn/nt/ias/101202/as_windows_x86_bi_101202_disk2.zip] from page (I didn't install [Tools CD|http://download.oracle.com/otn/nt/ias/101202/as_windows_x86_bi_tools_101202.zip] )
I had followed this tutorial, and they say to install the OracleBI Discoverer Administrator.
Shall I install the Tools CD? I say that, because the [toturial|] refers in prerequisites "Install Oracle Business Intelligence Tools CD 10.1.2".
    Thanks!

    Hi,
No, the other BI tools are the web based tools to install on an application server. No need to deinstall them. The developer suite tools are windows client tools and connect directly to the database for EUL administration.
