Any one know what is the new link for http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/fusion_middleware/im1014/ovd-oam/oam-ovd/install_oam/install_oam.htm address? This one takes you to the index page I am not able to search the OAM-OVD integration example.

Seems like the OAM-OVD tutorial is not present in the new OBE library. Anyways you may check the below link to configure OAM to OVD.

I downloaded the Data Warehouse Oracle By Example module. The instructions indicate that that Oracle must be uninstalled and reinstalled before following this module. Do you know if this is necessary? And is it necessary for each module one wants to follow?
I'd rather not uninstall my current DBs, but will if I must. Please advise.

Iphone safari open new link?

Hi, I wondering why all of a sudden when I open a new link in safari it opens a new window but it also replaces my current window so I have two windows open with the same website. For example when I searching on google news, I click on a news story and it opens a new page to the website and then the website also opens up on the current google news page. I wondering why this is happening?

Oracle Extensions Examples & WebLogic Server

I've run the oracle extensions examples with weblogic server and cannot get the
string representation for the addresses, as indicated in the examples documentation.
I get a hexadecimal representation. I'm running structs, refs and arrays business
object examples. My output is, for example:

So my questions is how do I get a string representation? Is there a hextostring
conversion java method? Why do I get hex in the first place?. The source file
is using system.out.println.
The output should be, for example:

Look at the AddressBO.java file in the C:\bea\weblogic700\samples\server\src\examples\jdbc\oracle\extensions
directory.
I use BEA 7.0 and Oracle 9.0.1.1.1.

The datatype for address may clob.Clob values cannot be retrieved directly .please try the following code.

Does anybody have oracle web center new features demo?
It will be great, If you can share it.
Documentation states that, It has features like below:
New capabilities to operate on multiple assets efficiently, including bulk deletion, approval, and bookmarking. These operations are conveniently available from search results screens. Operations can be executed by selecting multiple assets and pressing a single button.
But I can not perform bulk delete asset.
Documentation also states that, It has features like Drag And Drop:
My understanding from the documentation is an asset's attributes are dragged and dropped into advanced UI. Pls correct me, If I am wrong.
Is there any demo available for drag and drop feature of oracle 11g webcenter?
Documentation also states that, It has features like customizable dash board:
New customizable dashboard: A customizable dashboard is now provided out-of-the-box. Widgets to manage assignments, bookmarks, and checkouts are included. Widgets can be rearranged on the dashboard using simple drag-and-drop, and custom widgets can be added to satisfy unique business needs.

Issues with Oracle in a new location.

Hello -
I recently had to change the computer name of a Windows 2003 SP2 test server. Among other software installed was Oracle 10g r2. There were issues with Oracle in its new location where it was trying to reference the old computer name.
I assumed that all I would have to do to correct the issue was to search all of Oracle’s .ORA files and replace the old server name with the new one. (Plus, of course, changing the Windows Host file entry).
But I’m finding that Oracle on Windows apparently has many other references to the original computer name. For example, there are subdirectories in the Oracle Home directory tree structure where the directories themselves contain the old computer name. (I’ve attached a screenshot of a file search off the Oracle directory tree for “BRI2KSRV” which is the test server’s old name. “Bri2ksrv.jax.fnfis.com” was the server’s old fully qualified name. ORCL is/was the default instance name).
For example, these directories were found:
..\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\bri2ksrv.jax.fnfis.com_orcl
..\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\log\bri2ksrv

What are the recommended steps when changing the Windows computer name (and thus the fully qualified network references) on a Windows 2003 Server which has a functioning Oracle 10g R2 instance?

These directory you mentioned are EM control directory. You need to reconfigure your EM with new server name.
If you are using server name instead of IP address in listener.ora and tnsnames.ora you need to change these as well.

OCS Oracle By Example Docs are gone

When I try to get to the Oracle by Example guides for OCS, which are pretty much the only good documentation made for the product, the link says the documents could not be found. Could someone please put them back?

However, the oracle.edge.* packages are not available.
I already added the jar files in Edge_Home\lib to the project library, but it still failed.

There is no OBE on Discoverer Administrator, which is under iDS. However you can see the 9.0.4 OBEs on Discoverer Plus and Viewer from this link http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe_as_10g/bi/index.html.

Issue extracting Oracle's example.dmp

After I installed the Oracle 10g release 2, I tried to import Oracle's example.tmp. Below are the error messages.

If you see correct this is the metadata ..of the SYS...and internal Objects of Other schema's too..
You should not do it... when ever a new database Created the ORACLE Internally executes or improts the example.dmp and it does use the example01.dfb.. since these are the templates... for any new database creation..

Failed to Download Oracle By Example series

When I tried to download the full Oracle By Example series from http://www.oracle.com/webapps/dialogue/dlgpage.jsp, the 31 Mb file downloaded, but cannot be opened by Winzip. It says it is damaged. Winace could get a partial look at its contents, but also reported it as damaged.
I've tried the download twice, over our high-speed fibre optic link to our ISP, so transmission network quality is not a problem, as it could be on a dial-up link.
Both attempts gave the same result. Coud it be a problem with the ZIP file on your server ??
