Oracle Calendar Administrator

I'm having a couple minor problems with the calendar administrator that I was wondering if anyone had seen.
1) When I get a list of calendar users in the administrator, there are three options on the right side of the screen for each user. One of them is "Update". Every time I try this, my browser fails with an Internal Server Error.
2) When I get a list of directory users in the administrator, I end up with several pages of people I can add to the calendar service. The list of people on the first page shows check boxes by their names, allowing me to add them. Once I go to another page, the names that appear do not have check boxes and I can't select them. Even if I return to page one, the check boxes have disappeared and I cannot work with the names listed. So, only page one on the first view seems to work.
Has anyone run into either of these issues? I'd like to avoid making more TARs is possible.
Thanks,
Mike

For anyone following this message because they have the same problem(s):
The portion of the message dealing with being unable to provision users after page one has been turned from a problem into a bug. Once I get more information or a fix, I'll post more and hopefully help anyone else having this problem.

  • Calendar Administration

    Hi,
I am trying to evaluate OCS.
I have just run through the general installation of the Oracle Collaboration Suite single box.
I would like to administer the calendar, so I click on the Oracle Calendar Administrator".
It re-directs me to a page asking for a username and a password.
In the installation guide, it says:
"enter the Oracle Calendar administrative password you chose during installation. Do not enter a user name with this password."
    There are two problems here.
    1. No password was prompted for during the installtion. The only prompts were for a time-zone (BST), a node ID (1) and Master Node (yes/no).
    2. When attempting to enter a password with no username, an error message is displayed.
    "Your username is missing wwc-41654"
Could someone please provide the necessary information to allow administration of the calendar?
    Thank you in advance.

    Addendum:
I have tried each and every password, with and without usernames.
In each case I get informed that either the authentication has failed, or that I must enter a username.

  • Need User Documentation for Oracle Calendar 9.04

I Need User Documentation for Oracle Calendar 9.04 (which replaced Steltor Corporate Time product). I've searched all over this site and can only find server administration documentation.
I see lots of requests from other users for this documentation and no satisfactory answer. Could someone please provide proper documentation for this software?
    Thank you.

  • Oracle Calendar Standalone 10g on Redhat EL4

I have been working on the Oracle Calendar Standalone 10g install. Thought I would post a few quick notes, hopefully helping others that are having the same problems. The instructions say to go to <installfolder>/calendar_standalone/disk1/runinstall.sh. There is no Disk1 folder. I also had to go into the <oracle_standalone/install/oraparam.ini and manually add "redhat-4" to the list of supported OS's. Then, the installer works fine. I am stuck, however, on getting the "admin page" running, I go to <ip>:<port>/ocad-bin/ocad.cgi?object=nodeadm, and get:
You don't have permission to access /ocad-bin/ocad.cgi on this server.
Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
I have set <ORACLE_HOME>/ocad/bin to be owned by apache.apache, and chmodded to 777, still no luck.
Anyone else run into this problem?

A few more notes about Oracle Calendar 10g Standalone...
I had to manually chmod 755 the entire directory tree to the <oracle_home>. For some reason, the installer did not do this. This is what was giving me the 403: forbidden errors trying to reach the administration page. Note, do not 'chmod -R 755 *', as this will really cause problems.. Since my <oracle_home> was "/opt/oracle/10.1.1/ocs_1/" I had to:
    cd /
    chmod 755 opt
    cd opt
    chmod 755 oracle
    cd oracle
    chmod 755 10.1.1
    cd 10.1.1
    chmod 755 ocs_1
And then, apache could traverse the directory tree to get to the ocad/bin folder.

  • Syncing iPhone with Outlook and with Oracle Calendar

Set up: Windows XP 2, Oracle Calendar Server, iPhone with 2.0.2 and iTunes 7.7.1.11. Outlook is the desktop client to Oracle Server. Others make appointments for me around my organization.
I have had successful syncs but also failures in this environment, but after the latest releases of firmware and iTunes, it consistently stopped syncing.
I think I have found an unsatisfactory work-around. If I go into the .com add-ins and disable the Oracle connector in Outlook, then I can get the iPhone to sync to Outlook. I then have to turn the connector on to interact with the server. Manageable but not pleasant.
    Is there a better solution?

Originally all of Apple products were intended for use with Mac computers. Macs have default program - iCal to sync calendars. Windows default program is ironically Microsoft Outlook. There couple more options in iTunes for
calendar sync, but those need to be chosen and not default.
In your particular situation since you don't have outlook anymore, you don't need to make any changes. No outlook - no sync. Apple way - no user interference nessesary.
Please do remember that everyting I write is just my opinion, nothing more or less.

  • Creation of a Custom Folder in Oracle Discoverer Administration Edition

    Hi
Could anybody help me in solving this problem while creating a Custom Folder in Oracle Discoverer Administration Edition ?
    My Requirement is :
I Connect to EUL_US/EUL_US@<HOST_STRING> under Oracle Discoverer Administration Edition.
I selected a Pre-Defined Business Area Eg. General Ledger
There i created a Custom Folder by Name Test Custom Folder
The Query which i used in my Custom Folder is
    SELECT NAME FROM GL.GL_JE_BATCHES
When i Used this Query it says Table or view does not exist.
The Folder is getting created but without a Query.
I am not able to preceed further.
    Any Help would be appreciated
    Regards
    Nakul Venkataraman

Hi Nakul, you may be running into a problem with the sql for your custom folder. For some reason Discoverer Admin will allow you to create a custom folder with sql, but then if you change it and it has any advanced sql, i.e. grouping sets, analytic functions etc., you probably receive an error.
An option is to create a view using the same sql and create a folder from the database using this view.
    Hope this helps.

    Thanks a lot.

is it a reinstallation or a first one on a bare server ? if there were several attempts please be sure you cleaned evrything before launching the installation :
    - product directory
    - /etc/ora*
    - database
    - oraInventory
    - /tmp (I had a similar issue with remaining files in /tmp, even after rebooting)
If it doesn't work, check that you don't hit the NO-EXCUTE problem (see the OCS 10.1.2 release notes, look for "noexec")

  • Oracle BI Administration tool has stopped working

Just now finished the 11g installation. But im not able to open BI Administrator.Im getting this error. Please help.
"Oracle BI Administration tool has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program"

I followed the below steps(taken from this forum) for installing OBIEE11g 64 bit version in a 64 bit machine.Installation completed successfully. But not able to open BI Administration tool.Any suggestions???
There is not a particular 64bit installation. I think it works like this: if you are using a 64bit JDK the apps server is also running 64 bit.
You can find the generic jar here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/ias/downloads/wls-main-097127.html and take the generic one (http://download.oracle.com/otn/nt/middleware/11g/wls1033_generic.jar)
You install this by a command like this (you have to look up the documentation): java -XXm.... .... wls1033_generic.jar
    Then a installer pops up.
    So these were my steps:
    - installed RCU
    - installed 64 bits JDK (jdk-6u21-windows-x64.exe)
    - installed Weblogic (wls1033_generic.jar)
    - installed OBI as "software only"
    - configured OBIi (config.bat you can find in <obi11g home>\Oracle_BI1\bin)
All together it does not take much longer then the 32bit install. Only some extra steps to do.

  • Exchange/Outlook 2007 and Oracle Calendar Collaboration

    Hi Guys!
I have a situation here in my incoming migration project. Is it really possible that an Oracle Calendar and Exchange/Outlook 2007 Calendar will collaborate or synchronize with each other? I only know that theres an Oracle Connector for Outlook in Oracle Collaboration suite, which will synchronize to Exchange/outlook calendar, but i didnt heard if the Exchange/Outlook Calendar will synchronized to Oracle Calendar simulataneously.
Please let me know if its possible or if theres a work around on this since we preferred them both to exists.
Thanks and i look forward on your replies.
    Regards,
    LRM

    Same problem here.
All Day events entered in Outlook 2007 on my work machine that have ALL DAY checked and are only on that ONE Day, seem to come out fine. If however we have an all-day event that goes multiple days, then it enters it on my iphone taking up 00:00-00:00, which is very messy if you have two ALL-day envents on the same day (when tracking different personnel for example).
I have noticed the real annoying item though is that changing it on my iPhone 4 directly, that once I put in the right start and end dates, and choose ALL DAY, about 5 seconds later it actually changes the START DAY! This makes you go back to change the start day, then it changes the end day so you change that, and now finally all sorted.
This NEVER happened on my iPhone3G that I have used with Excahgne for over two years now. Only since I got my iPhone4.
    PLEASE Apple, fix this!!!!

  • Oracle Calendar not showing in Outlook

I have tried installing both 9.0.4.2 and 10.1.2.08 on this machine with the same issue. Product installs just fine, or at appears so, but when you open Outlook (2003) and go to the Calendar, there is no option for Oracle Calendar. When 9.0.4.2 was initially installed, it was fine, then it appears to have degraded and the user was getting an error stating "Error while creating an automation class" when trying to view the schedule of a contact. Now, the calendar just doesn't show at all anymore. I unstalled 9.0.4.2 and reinstalled, still no good. I than installed (upgrade) 10.1.2.08 and same result.

my solution was disable the routing Control from the SMTP Inbound server from mail aplication, but this is not recomendable for security reason, but works

First disable Oracle Conduit in ActiveSync
    1) transfer the cab to the PDA and install it by double clicking on the executable
    2) make sure that your PDA can make internet contact via the cradle by setting
in ActiveSync on the PC under Tools; Options; Pass trough connection: The Internet.
3)Next open the Synthesis client on the PDA and tap on Extra; Settings. Change both items to The Internet and tap on OK
    4)Next open Extras; Settings
    - Server Settings: <your host>:<Your infra port>/ocst-bin/ocas.fcgi
    -Your username and password
    4b)Tap on Organizer:
    -Contacts: Server Path: ./contacts
    -Events: Server Path: ./Calendar/Events

  • Oracle 10g Administration workshop I course

I am wondering if anyone has studied Oracle 10g Administration workshop I course via self study?
My company is willing to sponsor me for Oracle Database Administration courses. I have a got a option to attend the Oracle hand on training courses or go for Oracle self study courses.
I have done OCA PL/SQL (9i) Certification in the past and at the moment I am not thinking about doing any DBA level certification.
(Administration workshop I & II (instructor lead) course is one of the OCP certification requirement)
What are the pros and cons of Self Study course and how is that different to instructor lead course?
Is there any duration limit on self study course?
Should i go for 10g course or 11g? We mostly use 10g.

There are a few things available from Oracle, some of which are eligible as training requirement for DBA Certification:
    - Traditional Oracle Classroom - Eligible for satsifisfying the training requirement
    - Oracle Classroom presented online in real time (LVC) - Eligible for satsifisfying the training requirement ( Quite new ... about 2 years)
    - Oracle Self Study CD ROM - This does NOT satisfy the training requirement. (SSCDs do not count towards your course requirements for certification and should be used as a study aid only.)
    - Training on Demand (This is a new training format. The course must be listed in the list of approved courses http://bit.ly/wyajDv.)
    Ref: {message:id=10215249}
My personal view would be to go for 11g. It generally suspersets 10g and gets you more future orientated. But that might not be the best decision for everyone. It is also useful to have 11g training which can be used against 10g or 11g DBA certification.

  • Oracle Express Administrator 6.3.4

I just installed the Express Admin tools and when I open Oracle Express Administrator, I get a "run-time error 380 invalid property value" and then it kicks me right out of the tool. Any ideas how to fix this? Should I re-install?
    Thanks,
    Carla

The Installer will probably force you to install AWM into a separate oracle home; if it doesn't, then choose to put it into a separate oracle home from your Express products.
