Oracle CCA in 3COM LAN

Hello.
I need to install Oracle CCA in a CallCenter.
My customer's LAN is working with 3COM switches (S7900E, 4210G) and firewalls H3C F1000-S.
Does anybody know a success implementation with 3COM switches?
Thanks in advance

For CCA to function, it does not require any special LAN hardware so the 3Com stuff should work fine.
Depending on the number of users, existing traffic and codec used you may wish to segment traffic and apply QOS, but QOS has the greatest impact if you have a bandwidth constraint.
How many users do you need to set it up for? Is there a Telco overlay or is it stand alone CCA?

• Heterogeneous version of oracle Client in a lan

Hallo
I am a completely new by of Oracle dba.
I work in a company where there is a Lan with 2 server and 120 clients.
The lan operative system is Windows 2003 on the servers, and xp professional on the clients.
There a program for business management in oracle environment, of course.
In a server is install Oracle server version 10g.
In pc client is install version oracle client heterogenous.
In some pc there is oracle versione 7, in other pc there is version 8 and so on.
There is the possibility of malfunctioning for this reason ?
Is there a possibility problem of work on the lan or with the program ?
Thanks in advance

To communicate with Oracle 10gR2 you need a client 8.1.7.4 at least.
Oracle7 definitely won't work, and Oracle 8.0 also won't work.
Better still you install the 10gR2 client everywhere and upgrade to 10.2.0.4, as 10gR2 is in extended support, and Oracle only supports the last patch level.

• Session timeout problem with CCA

I have developed a Client applicaiton in ASP.Net 2005 using the SOAP Api provided in Oracle CCA 8.1.3
The System details are as under:
Product – Oracle CCA 8.1.3
Server on Windows 2003 Server – Standard Edition
Web Server – BEA Weblogic 10g3
Database – Oracle 10g
Java Version – 1.5 Update 10
I am facing a problem where the users session changes every 5 Minutes 30 Seconds. I get the "Session Change" message and at this point I cannot see the Agent on the CCA Agent Monitoring screen. What I need to do now is to Reopen the session. Upon Repoening the Session I would get the same SessionId from the WebServer that I had get earlier.
Please help.

• RE: Oracle Enterprise Manager Extensibility 10g Release 4 (10.2.0.4) Guide

Hi:
- I have a question about the SNMP Receivelet code in this guide:
Oracle® Enterprise Manager Extensibility
10g Release 4 (10.2.0.4)
Part Number B40007-01
- Basically I copied the SNMP Receivelet code from the guide into a plug-in.
I was able to load the plug-in without any error messages, but no alerts are raised
when I send a trap.
- Could someone please tell me what port the snmp receivelet listens on?
- I tried ports: 3002, 1830, 3872 and 8002.
- Port 3002 was obtained from emd.properties
- Port 1830 was obtained from the OEM console
- What condition is necessary for agent to receive SNMP traps?
- My agent environment is:
[oracle@blade bin]$ ./emctl status agent
Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Release 5 Grid Control 10.2.0.5.0.

Looks like this was also posted 4 messages above ... follow the anwers there.
Please only post the question once ... reposted will not get any answers you wouldn't have gotten anyway.
That just makes it hard for other users to follow all the information.

• Using Oracle in the network

Hi,
Is anyone can help me how to use oracle sqlplus in a LAN.
We have 5 pcs in our home network and one of my friend want to use oracle from his pc where i got installed oracle in my computer.Is there anyway he can access to my installed sqlplus from his computer.Please help me for that.
Thanks
Hasnain

Ma -
You could do any of the following.
1. Using iSqlplus. Make sure that the service is started on the server. Open a browser window on
your friend's machine and type the following in the address box.
http://hostname:port/isqlplus/
Where hostname is the name of your server. You could also specify the IP address instead of the host name. Coming to the case of port, look for a file 'isqlplus.ini' on your server. In that, you should see an entry like:
HTTP_PORT=5560
Copy this port number and replace the port portion of the URL.
2. Install Sql*Plus client software on your friend's PC. Configure the 'tnsnames.ora' file.
You should then be all set to use Sql*Plus.

• Discover other oracle server

Hey
If the Server B,C and D are no more necessary redirect this IP on the DNS level than on the oracle.

Hi,
He only have to do is to install oracle client on his pc.
The listener should be started on the oracle database server. Then client need to set the correct tnsnames.ora.
SQL plus can be used if above ready.

• Oracle Contact Center Anywhere and UC560

Hello all,
I have been having a tough time getting this these two to work together. It is a web-based application, basically you give them your list of DID's and allow certain ports to be open, forward your main number to them, and it is supposed to work. I used the lowest setting on the UC560 firewall that is built in and the Oracle CCA reseller can send SIP requests to my WAN which the UC is connected to but the UC does not reply. If there is anyone out there that has successfully setup this up, I would be eternally greatful for your help. I have attached their Network Setup guide, which I tried to use but no progress.

We use COD, and I have to say I'm quite pleased with it from the administrative side. Is is the most flexible, robust solution in the world? No. But, it was extremely quick to implement, we can add numbers quickly, and we can change our call routing in the blink of an eye without having to resort to requesting help from specialists and waiting days or weeks for our phone services area to handle it.
I do want to add one caveat on the CRMOD bundling -- chat does NOT work out of the box with the bundled client. The other caveat I would add is on the reporting side. It's limited on the COD side -- you can control what users, workgroups, projects, and sometimes intervals on the reports, but the selection of reports is limited and some of the terminology and documentation isn't as clear as it can be. And format options are limited. Even when you can choose .txt or .xls it still looks like the printed format with page numbers, repeated headers, etc. Tedious, but not insurmountable.
I presume using CCA would allow direct database access (and in turn more reporting flexibility.)
That being said, I think the COD supervisor client is a good tool for real-time information. It's easy to understand the current state of affairs.

• Windows CE on Pocket PC to ORACLE (wireless)

Feasible?, possible?? - A Windows CE app on a Pocket PC connecting to ORACLE across a wireless LAN.

Hi,
i try to connect my Pocket PC (with Oracle Lite 9i) in the craddle with a oracle 8i server on a desktop PC (not the one with the craddle), i would like to know how i have to do to use ODBC to do this.
the most important i want to know is how to write the connection string.
thanks for any help
Arnaud. As far as I know you cannot make an odbc connect fromthe cradel to an 8i (or 9i) server. If you want to exchange data you will have to use the Mobile Server sync engine.

• Contact Center Anywhere8.1.3|Unable to get proper Report URL for Supervisor

Hi,
I am facing a problem to view the Reports using Supervisor login under Reporting.
The version of Oracle CCA is : 8.1.3.
1) The urlforccatotawreports field in the systemconfiguration database table is been updated with
http://<IP>:[<Port>]/TAW
2) Inside TAW application, web.xml is been updated, below is part of it.
<context-param>
<param-name>reportServerUrl</param-name>
<param-value>http://<IP>:[<Port>]/TAW</param-value>
</context-param>
(IP and Port is mentioned in the actual file/field)
3) The WebLogic server, Database server, Network Manager and TCP IP Bus have been restared after making the changes.
If the URL is been updated in the opened browser
from : http:///ReportServlet?fileName....................
to : http://IP:Port/TAW/ReportServlet?fileName.......
then we are able to see the reports properly.
Appreciate quick help.
Thanks,
Vijay

Check the database table CCA.SYSTEMCONFIIGURATION.
Column URLFORCCATOTAWREPORTS, is used for the report server URL.
SQL> select URLFORCCATOTAWREPORTS from SYSTEMCONFIGURATION;
URLFORCCATOTAWREPORTS
http://reportservers.mydomain.com
TAW is deployed as the default service, so TAW is omitted
If you have muliple report servers as defined in the TAW/WEB-INF/web.xml
<context-param>
<param-name>reportServerUrl</param-name>
<param-value>http://reportserver1.mydomain.com</param-value>
</context-param>
<context-param>
<param-name>reportServerUrl</param-name>
<param-value>http://reportserver2.mydomain.com</param-value>
</context-param>
<context-param>
<param-name>reportServerUrl</param-name>
<param-value>http://reportserver3.mydomain.com</param-value>
</context-param>
reportservers.mydomain.com DNS record will contain two or more results.
reportserver1.mydomain.com reportserver2.mydomain.com reportserver3.mydomain.com

• Solaris Management Console 2.0 installation problem

I installed Solaris_Management_Console_2.0 in my intel machine (Solaris 8). I am using 3COM lan card for network connectiong its working fine and my s3 vga is not supporting so i have taken default 16 bit for vga.
Problem after installing the SMC2.0, i can able to start the vserver daemon. But when i am trying to start SMC console i am getting only a blank screen and in back ground some java related files are displaying. Screen is not moving further.
I would like to know whether this problem is because of my not supporting s3 vga card?

did you enable tcp listening?
svccfg -s wbem setprop options/tcp_listen=true
svcadm refresh wbem
svcadm restart wbem

• Can anybody run Oralce(8.1.6) demo code ?

Can anybody run Oralce(8.1.6) demo code about embedded SQL without any problem?
It seems that I'm unlucky.
I need to write a small embedded SQL program (Window 2000 / VC++6 compiler) that can connect to the Oracle server on the LAN. So I try to begin from the demo code which provided by Oracle. Precompiler and VC++ compiler process seem OK (only adjust the precompiler's default path to the correct path which contains the head files). So I can get the exeacutable file.
But when I run the exeacutable file, error occurs! ORA-12560. protocol adapter error!
The SQL Plus works fine. The whole system is new and clean. After tracing the operation, I find that maybe the protocol I'm using is: 'beq', instead of 'TCP/IP'.
A little bit further searching in Oracle document said that I may need to install JSB driver... But it seems that no related dll files in my computer... I'm totally lost here!
Can anybody help me about it!
Thanks a lot!!
Charles

Is there a reason that you can't use the newer 8.1.6.2 driver? Generally, Oracle doesn't make all the older versions available for download.
