Oracle. CentOS 6.2. NETCA. Use another port number.

Hello! I know that oracle is not supported Centos.
But question is why netca can not use standart port, or any other port.
OS and oracle run in vmware. Network NAT. Os is run without X server. But it connect on ssh with other OS with X server.
P.S.
Sorry if my English is bad for you.

above will succeed when NO listener.ora file exists
in other words, you do not need to run netca.

    Hi,
Goto start > run > enter netstat -o command and execute it and it will display all the addresses. In Foreign Address column the entire ipaddress:portnumber will be display and along with this process id(pid) will be displayed. Check whether the portnumbers are being used by any other application or it is in blocked state. If it is in blocked state then kill that process id with taskkill /pid /f command at command prompt.
After doing this you can try to install it one more and let us know whether it got succeeded or not.

  • Rewrite subdomain to another port number

    My problem:
I have two machines running Leopard Server with Web services on. Server1 serves out our main site on Port 80. Server2 will serve out an intranet of sorts on Port 8000, which will still be accessible from outside the office. Both use the same IP.
I would like http://example.com to show Server1's site, and http://intra.example.com to show Server2's site, without the port number 8000. DNS currently points both http://example.com and http://intra.example.com to the same external IP. Internally, each server has a different IP but the :8000 is still obviously needed to access Server2's site.
Simple mod_rewrites on Server1's Apache installation has NOT worked to set things up as I'd like. Here's what I have in the httpd.conf file:
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} intra.example.com [NC]
    RewriteRule ^/.*$ http://example:8000/$1 [P,QSA,L]
This seems to do...nothing. I can still access Server2's site with anything.example.com:8000 and Server1's site with anything.example.com.
From what I can tell, Virtual Machines and Proxying wouldn't work for what I need, and the simple URL Aliases and Redirects don't seem sophisticated enough to handle a rewrite instead of a simple redirect.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Camelot,
Thanks for your response! To go through your suggestions one by one:
At first glance there are two errors in your RewriteRule setup
The first error in my RewriteRule was actually just a typo in the post, not in the actual rule on the server. At one point I also had the content grouping in my rule, and still no go (I've readded it and tested it to make sure).
In addition to that, what is missing from your post is a description of what happens when you do hit a http://intra.example.com/ URL - does it get served from the example.com server? does it generate an error message? is the connection dropped? That would also help.
http://intra.example.com serves the same thing as http://example.com, the site on Server1. Ditto for http://intra.example.com:8000 and http://example.com:8000; they both serve from Server2.
Other things to check include making sure that you have a site alias set for 'intra.example.com' in the 'example.com' configuration (or that you have a * there) - otherwise intra.example.com hits won't be processed by this virtual host (applies only if you have multiple virtual hosts configured on the server).
I have an * in the Server Aliases. I've also created a virtual host just for the subdomain, but that doesn't seem to work either so I've removed it.
You should also check that you have mod_proxy enabled on the server since this requires the proxy server support in the server.
mod_proxy is enabled, in addition to mod_rewrite.
Finally, if all the above doesn't help, try adding the following lines to your site's config file:
    RewriteLog /var/log/apache2/rewrite_log
    RewriteLogLevel 9
This will cause apache to log every rewrite request and show you what decisions it's making. 9 is the most verbose logging level, so lower the number if it's too much data, and make sure you remove the lines when you're done (you don't need to log this level of detail in a properly-running server).
Oddly enough, with this added, no rewrite_log is generated. It's not commented out, and I'm loading example.com and intra.example.com over and over! All that's there is access_log and error_log.
Any additional ideas? Perhaps editing httpd manually and then making additional changes via Server Admin is invalidating things? My URL aliases and redirects inside the Server Admin all work fine, which seems to imply that on some level, htaccess-style stuff seems to be working. And the fact that editing the httpd file doesn't work for either mod_rewrites OR the logging makes me think something else is wrong.
Additionally, I had originally placed an .htaccess file at the root of the web folder for some simple aliases and redirects on Server1, and oddly enough only one of the settings would resolve, and one exactly like it would not. The rest were completely ignored, until I recreated them in Server Admin. Now all those work, but this rewrite is too advanced for that part of Server Admin. Anyone know where the data store for the URL Aliases and Redirects resides, so that I may edit it directly in hopes of getting this thing working?

  • Using different port number in RDP Client

I was successfully able to change the RDP port for my windows server 2012 R2 following this: http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/306759
I am also able to RDP to from windows (XP, Windows , etc) default RDP client by providing <ipAddress>:<portNumber>.
My issue is when I open my clients in front of others they can easily see the port number I am using for RDP. How can I change the settings in my RDP client so that I don't have to provide port number and it knows that it has to connect to this different
    port to RDP?

    Easiest way
Install Remote Desktop Connection Manager and configure the servername with portnumber (This is onetime configuration).
Download RDConnection Manager from : http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=21101
    OR
You can save thie RDP shortcut icon for a respective server.
Open RDP console,Click on show options,
Enter the name of remote computer name with portnumber
    If required specify username,
    Click on Save As,
Save it on Desktop or as per your convenience.
Whenever if you want to connect to the server, Just double click on RDP icon where you have saved. it will not show you portnumber, it will prompt for username / password.

  • Separate Web Applications using only port number

I am trying to use the same URL (app.test.com) but different port numbers (80,81) to separate traffic to two separate web applications. Is that doable? If so how? I have tried creating new virtual classes and/or new virtual servers and can assign the new listen socket to the original virtual server provided by the web server. But when i try assigning either listen socket to my new class or server, no joy.

yes, it is very much doable
    - create 2 http listeners (say ls1 and ls2)
    - create 1 virtual server and default virtual server (and get it hooked up to ls1)
    - create 2nd virtual server and defautl virtual sever (and hook it up to ls2)
now within virtual sever 1, add the web app that you would like to have it separated . similarly, you can do for the next virual sever as well.
no need for multiple virtual server classes here.

  • Web Enterprise Manager Default Port Number in Oracle 9i

    Enabeling Auditing on database 9.2.0.8
Web Enterprise Manager Default Port Number in Oracle 9i:
Does anyone know the default port number of the web enterprise manager (Oracle 9i)?
If I installed or configured enterprise manager and I forgot the port, where can I find it?

You must read the part in the Installation Documentation for certified repository databases to ensure that your database is OK.
My advice is always, never start any installation (not only Oracle) without reading the Documentation, Release Note and any README.
You will spend less time in the installation as Configuration if you use the required documentations for your platform.

  • INFA 9.0.1 Domain creation error [Port number already in use]

    Hi Experts,
I've installed INFA 9.0.1 HF2 recently on my Linux 64bit box and due to some configuration issue, I endup in uninstalling the same and deleted the complete installation folder.
Now I'm trying fresh INFA 9.0.1 HF2 install on the same Linux box, but getting the following port number error while creating domain.
"Node port number. This port is in use. Select another port number"
I tried with another port number also but all went in vain.
Anybody faced this situation before? Please help me to resolve this issue.
    Regards,
    Ram Sankar

Actually I'm new to Linux environment.. so I'm not sure on remove/killing the port number which are already in use. Hence I tried with different port number, but I'm getting popup like below,
"The Command to create the domain failed
Select Ok to correct the domain information and try the command again.
Select Continue to continue the installation without creating the domain.
you can run the command again to create a domain after the installation."
I'm not sure whether we can create a domain successfully after the installation.
Please anybody help me to remove/kill the existing port number (6005) which I was using it before. so that I can use the same to create a domain during installation only.
I appreciate your help in this regard.
    Thanks

  • Risk & Security vulnerability for using default ports

    Dear All,
As far as I know, Oracle does not recommend to use default ports for
security purposes. Searching out of Oracle community found that some people
think that it does not matter any more. However, it can have some vulnerability
and, I think, security risk & auditors would not like to see that.
I have found that in 2012 ORacle Tns listener port 1521 had a vulnerability
issue with oracle database 11gR1 and 11gR2, but how about Oracle 12?.
Also, I was searching something similiar for Oracle OAM, SOA, OIM, OAAM, but still cannot
    find anything.
    Thanks
    Georgina Acuna-Rivera

Do you happen to have such a storage peripheral attached to your M3000?
If yes, then it is probably reachable through the M3000's IP address. You will need to log a support ticket with HP and get guidance how to get into the array's FCAL controller and investigate the issue.
If you do not have an HP array attached to your M3000, then log a support case with Oracle and arrange for a field service engineer to visit the site to manipulate the password for its `admin` account (since that special account is likely needs service-employee-only access).
Either way, you need to get accurate technical support and this forum is NOT official tech-support.

  • Using another number for an upgrade for a phone online

Okay, so I'd like to use another phone number in my plan to get an upgrade online. So does anyone know if that is possible and how I could do that. Thanks.

Thanks, Rignu217 and lewisr13, for your replies.
    Hello JBerg,
I'm glad to hear you'll be taking advantage of an alternate upgrade on your lines.  As previously mentioned, this can be done directly from My Verizon, where you can compare up to five devices and decide which device is perfect for you. Keep in mind you'll first select the line that is eligible for an upgrade.  Once this is done you will get an option to choose the line where the device will be activated. I'm sure you'll find this information useful. Thanks for being part of Verizon Wireless.

  • Sql server 2012 express - tcp/ip connection to named instance using dynamic port not working

I have a named instance on a SQL 2012 Express server that won't connect via TCP/IP when wanting to connect off of the dynamic port.  I can connect via shared memory locally on the server.   I can connect to the namespace when specifying the
dynamic port listed in the configuration manager.
This is the only named instance on the server and it is not the default.
    TCP/IP is enabled
    Allow Remote connections is enabled
the server browser service is running
I can connect via the dynamic port number
I am testing the connection locally on the server, so I don't believe a firewall is the issue.  I get the same results if I test it from a remote computer.
When using the sqlcmd (sqlcmd -S tcp:SQLSRVR\NAMEINST -E) I get the message that "the requested protocol isn't supported [xfffffffff]".   The command (sqlcmd -S tcp:SQLSRVR\NAMEINST,59992 -E) works.
Through SSMS, I get the message "the connection was actively refused".
On other boxes, I can connect with the named instance without having to specify the port.
I have looked through the sql logs and nothing much shows up.  The log does show that is listening on the port # for ipv4 and ipv6.   There is also a line in there talking about the SPN not being registered and not to worry about it if
you are not using Kerberos.  I logged in through shared memory and it said I was using NTLM.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    thanks.

    Hi clw,
I’m writing to follow up with you on this post. According to your description, I do a test, if you configure the database engine to listen on a specific TCP port (59992), and
the port is opened in the firewall. If you want to connect to the SQL Server instance, you 'd better to
    use the port number.
In my opinion, by default, the default instance of the Database Engine uses port 1433, usually, if you have configured the server to listen on a non-default port number, when an instance of SQL Server uses dynamic port allocation, the connection string that
is built at the SQL Server client does not specify the destination TCP/IP port unless the user or the programmer explicitly specifies the port. Therefore, the SQL Server client library queries the server on UDP port 1434 to collect the information about the
    destination instance of SQL Server.
If UDP port 1434 is disabled, the SQL Server client cannot dynamically determine the port of the named instance of SQL Server. Therefore, the SQL Server client may be unable to connect to the named instance of SQL Server. In this situation, the SQL Server
client must specify the dynamically allocated port where the named instance of SQL Server is listening.
For more information about configuring an instance of SQL Server to listen on a specific TCP port or dynamic port, you can review the following article.
    https://support.transfrm.com/entries/503111-How-to-configure-an-instance-of-SQL-Server-to-listen-on-a-specific-TCP-port-or-dynamic-port

  • Wrong remote port number with TCP listener

    Hi
I am sending data from a dsp with a network card over TCP/IP to my pc running labview7express. The data is received correctly, I use a 'TCP create listener' followed by a 'TCP wait on listener' to establish the connection, followed by a while loop with 'TCP read' in it.
The port returned by 'TCP create listener' is correct (1001), but somehow 'TCP wait on listener' returns 57345 as remote port!?
Also when using another port eg 1003 it still returns 57345..
Anyone knows how this erroneous portnumber is achieved?

Nothing wrong with that. A TCP/IP connection has ALWAYS two connection
ends with each of them using a port number. 1001 is the port of the
local listen socket (which needs to be fixed so that clients can connect
    to a know
n server) in your LabVIEW application. 57345 is the port number
used by your software running on your DSP board. A client usually has no
fixed port number but allocates any port number not already in use. When
the listen socket receives a connection request it connects and passes
the connection with the local port 1001 and the remote port 57345
through TCP Wait On Listener to your application. Since you set up the
Listen Socket in Create Listener you already know its port number so TCP
Wait on Listener does only return the port number of the remote
    connection end of your connection.

  • Workspace URL without port number?

    Hello,
Is there a way to config the Workspace URL to not use the port number for LCES with Webpshere 6.1 environment (e.g." http://localhost:/workspace/" instead of "http://localhost:9080/workspace/") due to the firewall configuration?
    Thanks,
    Han Dao

    1) Change the WC_defaulthost port of the appserver instance from 9080 to 80
    2) Make sure "80" is listed as a "Host alias" for the "default_host" virtual host or another virtual host you have created exclusively for LiveCycle
    3) Re-start the appserver instance
    4) Check the SystemOut.log and verify that all LiveCycle web modules now bind to port 80, among others (like 5060, 5061 etc).
    5) Try http://localhost/workspace and it should work.

You do not have to use any port number. Just go to System Preferences on your Mac and click on iCloud (OS X 10.7.5 and later).
