I have passed both the Oracle 9i paper 1z0-007(SQL) and 1ZO-031(DBA I).
I have the marksheet but how i will get my OCA certificate. Is there any procedure to book my Oracle successful kit. plz give me the required information.

Time effort for Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE 7 Programmer 1Z0-803

I have no previous knowledge in Java. My only programming skills is Oracle SQL (passed 1Z0-051 SQL Fundamentals I).
What's the time effort for passing Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE 7 Programmer 1Z0-803? From zero to exam? Hours?

Hi, as the previous answer suggests there is no recommended experience required to pass this exam. I passed the 1Z0-803 after 3 months prep. I was new to Java though have prior C++ experience.
If you are able to read and understand all the tutorials at the below link you will probably be ready to take the exam.

The only advice I'd have is to practice working through questions at faster than a leisurely pace because you need to get through all the questions to pass.
There are lots of study guides for Java 6 certification and they will all help you pass this exam. For this exam, have a look at :

for the new features in Java 7 and you won't be caught out.

Business Adminitration and Oracle Certified Associate

I studied business admin and after i graduated i took up Oracle 9I. I was having a hard time understanding the lessons in Oracle.
There were words that i am not familiar that only computer genius can understand.... The question is if i have to start again, from the beginning,

Advice on Oracle DBA Associate (OCA) Certification

Hi, All
i'm a newbie to Oracle. I was given a task of passing Cetrtification Exam 1z0-042 for
Oracle DBA (OCA - Oracle Certified Associate)
which is the lowest certification level for an Oracle DBA.
My Q: what Edition of Oracle database should I use in my preparation for the Exam: Oracle Express Edition OR Oracle Standard (enterprise?) Edition?
I started to use E-learning materials from Oracle and I see that most of the examples are given referencing Oracle Enterprise manager, which is not the part of Oracle Express Edition [if i'm wrong pls correct me]

For DBA learning, you'll want to use Enterprise Edition with all the bells and whistles (partitioning, RAC, bitmap indexes, you name it). Its free to download for this sort of purpose.
Check out www.dizwell.com for articles on installing Enterprise Edition (through VMWare or directly) on various platforms.

Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate

I am planning to take the exam for "Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate".
There are 2 exams under this certification. The first exam can be taken from any of these 4- 1Z0-007 or 1Z0-007 or 1Z0-047 or 1Z0-051. The second exam is 1Z0-147. But does any of these 2 exams need a mandatory online/inclass course offered from Oracle?
I appreciate if anyone who has taken this exam could help me and explain this.

after very hard work I am now Oracle Database 11g Administrator Certified Associate. I attended courses (Admin I and SQL Fundamentals) 3 years ago. My Oracle knowhow is only the scope OCA 11g and have no Java know-how.

what is simpler?

I am searching for an easy winI'm not a big proponent of 'easy'. I'm much more a fan of 'worthwhile'. Determining what is 'easy' for you is not easy. It's hard enough figuring out what is easy for me. That said, a fast and dirty rule of thumb for comparing Oracle certifications is:
Easiest
OCA -- Broad range of topics -- shallow depth
OIS -- Narrow range of topics -- moderate depth (Implementation Specialist -- dunno if they really have an accepted acronym)
OCP -- Broad range of topics -- moderate depth
OCE -- Narrow range of topics -- considerable depth
OCM -- Whole different ballgame -- perform or fail

Since you are asking about an OCA exam vs an OCE exam, the basic answer is going to be that the OCA exam is easier. That doesn't take into account you. For all I know, you might be mentally allergic to Java and learning it may be the hardest thing you've ever done.

Oracle Linux Administrator Certified Associate: 1Z0-402 and 1Z0-403

Unfortunately LPIC expires after 5 years unless you take a higher level or retake same level .....

The Oracle exam certification relates to OEL/RHEL 4 ... which is a bit oldhat rather than redht nowadays. The advantage for you is it is an easy win, the disadavantage is it doen't really say much mor eabout yourself. RHSA on RHEL 6 might suit and say more .... but might be harder to gain. Any it wouldn't help any Oracle Partnership points iof that was important. However as pointed out you should be able to waiver 1z0-402

1) Will clearing the above two tests will make me Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate?
2) Should I purchase two separate vouchers for those two tests?
3) Should I give both the tests one by one at the same time or can I give them on different days?
Please answer my questions. Or atleast guide me where can I get the answers?

Even if you pass the exams you are not certified until you received confirmation from Oracle via a success kit or Certview that you are certified
2) Should I purchase two separate vouchers for those two tests?In my opinion there is usually little advantage in buying vouchers; but you may have different situation with your particular situation. Vouchers also may go wrong on people from time to time. Probably the excpetion for vouchers being good is when discounted vouchers are offered as part of training.

However as you are choosing 1z0-007 and 1z0-147 and not the more modern choices of 1z0-051 and 1z0-144 I shall leave that to yourself

Books/sites for Certified Associate (exam 1Z0-042)?

What books are recommended in order to pass exam 1Z0-042 (Oracle Database 10g Administrator Certified Associate)? Is there any one book that I can study that will help me pass this test?
I've read that you should have some "hands-on" experience to pass the test. I have software development experience with T-SQL (sql server). But I've rarely done anything with Oracle specifically (although I've worked with pl/sql).

Download the Database and install it and your on the first step of going through exam topics
Get time to read the Concepts guide, and maybe Admin and Performance guides from the docu library.

Who can get access the official PDF materials for the trainings (Instructor-Led Courses)? Can the trainer download it or the Learning Partner Center only?
An Certified Professional (OCP) can minister Official Oracle Training or is there any special requirement?

Does the Apple Certified Associate test cover new elements of FCPX 10.0.7?

I'm teaching a High School class in video production and am trying to prepare then to take the Apple Certified Associate test before they graduate. We have gone from 10.03 to 10.05 & finally have 10.0.7 on our MacPros. FCPX 10.0.7 has a number of new features from the 10.0.5 version.
Does the online Associate exam cover the new features?

But Apple has not given any official announcement yet. In the past, tests sometimes didn't update for a few weeks after the book release. But if you're ready for 10.0.7, you should be able to figure out legacy questions.

My suggestion is:
Consider First:
1) The exam 1z0-051 which should demonstrate your SQL skills.
2) The exam 1z0-047 which should earn an SQL Certified Expert Certificate.
Beyond that you will need to become more familiar with PL/SQL and go towards a PL/SQL developer OCA then OCP
I believe the following thread is relevant 1Z0-146
Read the blogs/FAW at the top of the forum, and become familair with the oracle education certification pages.
You may also seek out some the the '2-day' training as well.
