  • Uninstall Oracle client 11gR2

We need to install oracle client on a windows 2008 64 bits server.
Because for some of our miscrosoft integration service SSIS packages we have to run 32 bits.
SO I installed Oracle client 11g R2 32 bits for windows on the server.
I found some components are not installed, so I need to uninstall the client and reinstall it.
But by using universal installer, when clicking deinstall it says to run command ... to unintall it. Why...
Then in the directory of deinstall, I double click the deinstall.bat, it runs quickly and I didn't see oracle client is uninstalled.
Then following the instruction on the http://heliosguneserol.wordpress.com/2010/10/27/how-to-remove-oracle-11gr2-on-windows-7, it is windows 7, but I think it is the same.
I download the utility, and run the command, when I run this:
    D:\win32_11gR2_deinstall\deinstall>set ORACLE_HOME=D:\Oracle11g\product\11.2.0\client_1
    D:\win32_11gR2_deinstall\deinstall>deinstall -home D:\Oracle11g\product\11.2.0\client_1
The system cannot find the path specified.
But the path is there in windows direcotry,
    what I am doing wrong?
How come 11g client is so hard to uninstall, but 10 g is so easy?
More information may help to trouble shoot:
Prior I download the the standalone version of deinstall , I tried the deinstall tool with the origianal oracle installation.
it gives error when I run the destinall,

    Hello,
I found some components are not installed, so I need to uninstall the client and reinstall it.I'd like to know why it was not possible to make a custom installation with OUI and, then select the components you need.
Normally, you can run OUI every time you want so as to add all the necessary components over an existing installation.
For instance you can make a 1st installation with the "runtime" option, then in a 2nd installation add "Oracle ODBC Driver" component.
Else you'll find here the documentation about the deinstall tool:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e24187/deinstall.htm#BABHIGFE
    Hope this help.
    Best regards,

  • Loadjava.bat not available in installation of Oracle Client 11gR2

I installed Oracle Client 11gR2 on Windows 7. I am trying to load java classes into Oracle database, remotely, to be used as procedures using TOAD. TOAD depends on the Oracle Client to do this. However, loadjava.bat is not installed in Client installation. There may be other files needed as well. As a consequence, this loading of Java classes is not happening.
What do I need to do to make this work?
I realize that there is the option of loading these Java classes directly from the server that hosts Oracle Database, but I'd like to do it from a remote client.
    Thanks

one possible solution would be to install Oracle XE on your system.

  • Oracle Client 11gR2 installation issue on RHEL v5.4 64-bit

    Hi,
I am trying to install Oracle Client software 11gR2 on RHEL v5.4 64-bit. I have resolved all the libraries dependency as well as Kernel changes as suggested by the installer. The error in the log file is as attached. At present I have "skipped" this error and proceeded with installation.

Please let me know how to resolve NetCA installation and the sqplus issue.
    Thanks & regards,

    Hi,
Thet NetCA error occurs during installation and I believe the installer should take care of the ORACLE_HOME variable setting.
But before invoking sqlplus I have set the ORACLE_HOME and LD_LIBRARY_PATH setting in the .bash_profile as mentioned in the installation guide. The snippet of the profile file is:
    export ORACLE_HOME=~/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/client_1
    export JAVA_HOME=$ORACLE_HOME/jdk
    export PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/bin:$JAVA_HOME/bin:$PATH;
    export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$ORACLE_HOME:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH
    export TNS_ADMIN=$ORACLE_HOME/network/admin
    export TWO_TASK=mmcoedb
I am able to tnsping to the server/service name too but when I try to login using the user/password using sqlplus, it simply exits without any error.
Please let me know how to resolve the error.

  • How to run SAP BUSINESS ONE 8.8 clients on windows and use MaxDB on linux/W

    Good day,
As the subject shows we have SAP BUSINESS ONE 8.8 and I want to find out how to use it in combination with MaxDB instead of MS SQL. I find a lot of MaxDB stuff on the net but no guides on how to setup SAP BUSINESS ONE 8.8 clients on windows workstations and connect them to MaxDB.
Is this possible and if so how do I go about doing it ?
Any assistance is greatly appreciated .

    Hi,
I suggest you to check the supported server for B1 in this link:
    http://service.sap.com/smb/sbo/platforms
You will know the sap b1 supported platform.
If you really want to use maxDB on linux/W as B1 server, you can send a development request to SAP AG.

11gR2 client is not supported on Fedora, AFAIK - http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/install.112/e10841/pre_install.htm#CIHFICFD
Using 777 is typically a bad idea - you have not identified who owns these directories, nor which account is being used to run the installer.
SriniI will fix the idenfied, now I understand.
    Why is not supported?
Until now I have installed all library and the installer is running; my unique problem is on i386 requested library that I'm finding.

  • Oracle client -TNSNAMES.ora

    Hi,
I am new to db, can any explain the use of oracle client and how to use the TNSNAMES file.
    Thanks,
    VP.

Oracle client does what a client does in Client-Server architecture. So just read about it.
A tnsnames.ora file maps net service names to connect descriptors. The net service name thus becomes a (most likely shorter and more readable) alias for the somewhat cumbersome net service name. In the following example, the tex after the equal sign is the connect descriptor while the text before the equal sign (net_service_name) is the net service name.
A client needs a connect descriptor in order to connect to an Oracle instance.
    net_service_name=
    (DESCRIPTION=
       (ADDRESS=(protocol_address_information))
       (CONNECT_DATA=
         (SERVICE_NAME=service_name)))
    For example:
    ORA10 =
      (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS_LIST =
          (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = somehost)(PORT = 1521))
        (CONNECT_DATA =
          (SERVICE_NAME=ORA10)
      )

When I tried nslookup servername (hostname) , IP and DB it fails.
Anyone over there please help me out. This is something silly happening works on Windows Oracle client and not on Linux Oracle Client. One thing to do add Linux Oracle Client has Virtual IP to it. ITs host file has an entry for local host as follows : 127.0.0.1 localhost.local.domain localhost.

2 oracle clients in my PC uses different oracle home as below:-
    Oracle816 --> OraHome81
    Oracle9i --> orahome9i
Both oracle client are intalled in the different path as below:-

    d:/ora9i/
When I choose the OraHome81 from home selector and logon to db uses TOAD, somehow and don't know why, it will still point to orahome9i.
Can some one tell me how to solve this?

  • How to uninstall oracle components silents using oracle universal installer in oracle client 11.2.0.3.0?

    Hi,
I have installed oracle client 11.2.0.3.0 silently using the response file with INSTALL type as runtime. I want to remove  'Oracle sql developer' from the installed products. Using Oracle Universal Installer I am able to remove this component in GUI. Please provide me the silent switch to remove this component. I have tried with DEINSTALL_LIST property , but I am getting an error that 'no products selected for deinstall'. Please suggest on this.

    Pl post your OS details
AFAIK, SQL Developer is not included in the Oracle Client install - it is a separate install. You will have to follow the instructions for uninstalling SQL Developer - check the docs for your specific version of SQLD - Oracle SQL Developer
e.g. for 3.1, see Installing Oracle SQL Developer

  • Calling Oracle function and Procedure using OCCI with in C++ code

Could any body send me the sample code to create and execute Oracle function and Procedure using OCCI concept in C++?.
    Edited by: 788634 on Aug 16, 2010 4:09 AM

    Hi Vishnu,
Yes, sure, you can create a PL/SQL procedure, function, package, package body, etc. from within an OCCI application. I would say that, generally, this is not the sort of activity a typical client application would perform unless there is some initialization/installation processes that need to happen. In any case, here is a simple demo showing how to create a stand alone procedure (in a real application I would use a package and body) that returns a ref cursor. The ref cursor is just a simple select of two columns in the hr.countries sample table. Of course, there is no error handling, object orientation, etc. in this demo - I wanted to keep the code as short and as simple as possible to illustrate the concept.
    Regards,
    Mark

  • SSIS used to integrate SQ Server and Oracle - Is it necessary both 32 and 64 bits Oracle Clients installed?

    Hi all,
SQL Server 2012 EE 64 bits (SOURCE)
        Oracle 12c 64 bits (DESTINATION)
To make my solution - integrate SQL Server with Oracle - work, i had to install both 32 and 64 bits of the Oracle 12c Client. After that, i had to change the properties of my SSIS package to run on 32 bits only (properties > Debugging >
Run64BitRuntime set to FALSE). Before i made this change, the execution of my package was failing, but after setting Run64BitRuntime to false, the package ran successfully. Why is that?
I am thinking of unistalling the 64 bits ORacle Client from my Windows Server, but i fear that if i uninstall, my package stop working.
Any suggestions/corrections will be most appreciated.
       Thanks in advance
OBS1: I am using ODBC as the source and destination tasks.

    Hi FabrícioPJ,
The 32-bit and 64-bit versions of a provider have the same ID. Therefore, the SSIS runtime will select the appropriate version of the provider to use. 32-bit SSIS Designer always requires and uses the 32-bit version of a provider at design time. However
when running the package in 64-bit mode that the Run64BitRuntime project property is True, it automatically switches to the 64-bit version of the provider. When it couldn’t find 64-bit version of the provider, the package would be failed. For more details,
