Oracle Connector User-Name Issue: "Claude La User"

Folks - I have an Oracle Collaboration Suite User who has no issue connecting
to the calendar server via the "Windows Oracle Calendar Client" Application or via the
Calendar-Server Web-Interface: He has a somewhat unique 3-part name: We'll
call him "Claude La User".
However we've tried a 1001 combinations with "connector" & it simply
cannot find any user with this or some combo of his account name:
The Oracle Calendar client application happily accepts "Claude La User", but no such luck
with "Connector: Similarly, no such luck with any variation or combinations of that name:
Ex;
ClaudeLa User, Claude LaUser, Claude User, La User, User La Claude, etc., etc.
Any thoughts?

You could try entering a caret "^" character in the space. OC often doesn't like spaces within a first or last name. The native client is more adept at dealing with it. If that doesn't work, try the account's UID.

Oracle Apps adapter: User name issue

Hi All,
I am using SOA 11g to call an API in EBS using Oracle Apps Adapter .I am passing User name,Responsibility Name and other parameteres in invoke properties. Now the API is called successfully with most of the user names while for few usenames it's not able able to resolve user id based on user name. Although if the API is called from Oracle Apps/PL SQL ,it is working for all the users.

N96 Email User name issue

I have my N95 8gb set up with 3 email accounts and they all send and receive just fine.
I have replicated a 3 on my N96 updated and running latest v11 software to find that there appears to be a software problem.
The 'user name' field allows you to enter what looks like at least 40+ character 'user name' however it only saves 30 odd characters - cutting off anything after that when you exit the menu's. (Sometimes jumps back to main front screen)
This is a issue as my user name is 35 characters long.
Anyone else have the same problem; any ideas ?
If anyone at Nokia is reading please can you advise ?

For sure people can get confused with user names and email addresses - it does change per provider; sometimes yor email address is the same as your user name and sometimes the two are different.
100% certain the issue exists and needs resolving by Nokia.
(I have experience of setting these settings up many times on various devices - phones, PC's & MAC's - I can set up the account in question on my Nokia N95 8GB, my Nokia 6300 etc etc 1st time every time.
Does not help other then to be certain a fix is needed.

Workflow ECC User name Issue

Hi ! Work flow Experts!
I am triggering work flow from crm to ECC vise versa,I am unable to get Initiator User name it shows only CRM user name (RFC USER).
I want to get ECC server User names in CRM. I am running an remote function module from ECC to CRM, so i am getting only CRM user name,could any body advice me how to get an ECC server user names Its Urgent.

Since the workflow is initiated from CRM initiator will always be the one in CRM (crm user name).
To get ECC server user name in CRM you will have to use rfc to fetch data from ecc and get it in CRM. Initiator for for one workflow will always be one, if you want another agent then capture the name and create another conatiner element and use it.

Unable to view pdf - initially thought to be user / OS issue for new user to MAC.

Unable to view pdf created in Live Cycle Designer ES2. I initially thought this was a user / OS issue when I created a document for someone who is new to a MAC laptop. She could not view the document through email. Unfortunately, I began seeing the same error in my own document folders when searching for another document showing as icons instead of a list. I can open the file without a problem although I see the error she sees only while viewing the icons in my folder. I am using a Windows 7 PC. Now, I also know that if the document is downloaded, it can be viewed.
Other notes:
If trying to access the form via the internet, the same error is seen through Chrome, Firefox, and Mozilla but NOT through IE
Everyone seems to have the latest or a very recent READER
The form is compatible with Reader versions 7 and up
Again, downloading from the internet to the computer appears to allow the file to open properly
Document cannot be viewed on the Galaxy Tab 2 via Chrome or the pre-installed Internet Browser, nor can it be viewed through the Reader after download to tablet. I did not try on an Apple iPad.
All parties involved are up-to-date with virus protection.

Sorry, this is a user to user forum and we're just customers who help out when we can, so things don't always happen right away.
Reader, Regardless of OS or device, is as the name implies, only a Reader. There are different mail settings between Mac Mail Outlook and Thunderbird as well as Andsroid's mail app, whose name escpoaes me.
Have you checked in the Live Cycle Forum? There are people there with FAR more experience using LC developed forms. It's part of my Creative Suite, but I've never even opened it myself.

ID User name when provisioning new user account in R/3 System with CUP

Is it possible to configure somehow a rule in CUP for ID user names to be created in the backend system when direct auto provisioning is done?
Example: User_A creates a request for a new account in System SAP S1.
Such user will be created in S1 under ID "XXXX_User_A"

if you want building rules for new users you can user Netweaver Identity Management.
But I completely agree with Dylan - you really really want to try to have a SINGLE user ID in your systems for a person.
That's not only helpful for compliance, it's also useful for technical enhancements like Single Sign-On and many other things.
I usually try to link ActiveDirectory to CUP and retrieve user data, including the UserID from there.

When opening the email client on my iPad3 I occasionally receive a dialog box that states "the user name or password or user name for Bellsouth are incorrect". This condition usually lasts for 2 or 3 days.

I am using the correct user name and password as I can access email via the web. This situation is on all email clients except the web, ie; Outlook and iPhone also.

Sounds like the script was tested on a version of the OE schema with no index organized tables.
You can try altering the script and adding a filter to ignore IOT type tables....
So change the following

System.getProperty("user.name") not working without /etc/passwd, CentOS 4.3

I'm having trouble getting the system property user.name (which we need in our ant scripts) on our CentOS box. :(
When running the program below thru
java dumpproperties2
it prints "user.name='?'" on our CentOS 4.3. On win32 it works. It turns out that if you add the account corresponding to the EUID to /etc/passwd it works correctly. However, we don't use passwd authentication but an enterprise wide LDAP-system. Our /etc/nsswitch.conf says:
passwd: files ldap
One work around is to replace the java executable with a script that does
/path/to/jdk/bin/java -Duser.name=$USER -Duser.home=$HOME $@
Used jdk is j2se 1.5.0_13 Linux 32-bit.
Some questions for the experts:
1) Is there any other way?
2) Is it a known issue that Linux versions of the jdk just looks in /etc/passwd to map uid to user name (and home dir) instead of doing what the rest of the system, like whoami, does? I haven't found anything in either the readme or installation instructions, nor in the bug db.

User Name Question

In Web Console, under Reports | Systems | By Machine/Login Name, there is
information under the headings of Machine Name, Login Name, User Name, etc.
Under User Name, some workstations show a real name such as Jones, Bobby
or Smith, Mary. Some workstations show the Machine Name + MAC Address,
which is how ZENworks is setup to import workstations.
Why is there a difference? The real name is the preferred information.
What adjustment do I need to make?

Log in to solaris defualt user name

iv just installed solaris login screen comes up yet during instaltion i set a root pass but not a user name what is defualt user name and password

You shouldn't need to do that. As has been mentioned a million times /home is controlled by the automounter. Most of use use /export/home for home directories which avoids the issue mentioned above altogether.
If i didn't do these, useradd utility does not work, I can add a user alright but that user can't log in and the solaris management console does not work too in my end, i did the installation several times, each time with a different behavior but one thing is common though, the issue I've mentioned.

AAS Crash due to enabling and disbaling user names

Hi All,
Enabling and disbaling user names in the "Disabled user names" panel under security in EAS console causes the AAS to crash.
This was working fine before and the above issue started once the shared services was changed to Secured Sockets Layer(SSL) mode.
Any help on the above appreciated.

I worked around the issue myself by manually commenting the offending assertions out in src/core/job.c, so this is an upstream bug. I will report it at the systemd bug tracker.

One account and two user names??? HOW??

First of all, I own 5 Macs in my company, from iMac 24" to Macmini, the entire line. Use Macs since Classic model, so I'm not totally dumb... or may be I am
It started with a problem syncing iCal and Contacts. The database files became corrupted. Checked the logs and it seemed an permissions problem. try to fixed but the problem returned.
Of course I deleted iCal and contact files at Library, create new one and imported from backup - the same problem happened.
Then I started to dig the problema and when I looked at my keychains I found that I have two user names "sharing" the same user account...how?? one is marcio and other is Marcio Esteves.
I can't find any reference to this second user name apart from keychain. Tryied to delete the keychain and create a new one but the same... When trying to fix the keychain it show me this:

Of course I can format the HD and re-install from the scratch but I'm curious because, as far as I know, user names and accounts can not be duplicated.
The only thing that occurs to me is when I bought this machine - MB pro 2.4 - I imported the account from my previous MB pro AFTER change user name from "marcio" to "Marcio Esteves", keeping the same home directory name as "marcio" (as still today).
So, how can I fix it without formatting and installing everything again??

Every account on a Mac has two names. These names are called different things depending on the version of the OS and whether you are looking at the System Preferences|Accounts panel or the Workgroup Manager on a server. The "Name" or "Full Name" and the "Short Name" or "Account Name". The short name is the typical unix username. and the full name is just that, your full name. The Mac allows you to use either of these in any of the GUI dialog boxes that ask for your user name and password. At the command line I think you can only use your short name. I see that in OS X 10.6, once you create an account, you cannot see the short name in the System Preferences|Accounts panel any longer.
At a command line (in the Terminal application for example) you can type id or whoami to see your short name.
I think it is probably normal for entries in your keychain to refer to both or either of these names.
As for creating new accounts and copying files I think you should be able to do most of that when logged in as an admin user (which you don't normally do, right?).
